Canon color sync profiles location. Where to put them?

Hi as part my canon printer installation, i downloaded some canon icc profiles. The canon site downloaded them to my desktop, not the right location clearly but what is the right location ?.
Thanks
Tony

Try /Library/ColorSync/Profiles or ~/Library/ColorSync/Profiles.

Hi, yes, I messed it up by trying to edit it.
I just clicked configure and changed the options. Is there a factory setting I can reset it to?
The problem when I try to get it back to normal is that it never looks just like it did. It looks mainly fine, but things like light blues look wrong.

In that case, there may be a problem with your Finder preferences or window settings.
Try removing these files, then restarting:
    ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist
    ~/Desktop/.DS_Store
Let me know if you're not sure how to do that.

    Hi Mike,
I have Iphones since they cam out buy IO7 on my iphone 4 is slow and frustrating. I sync itunes with sync window. I tried cable and wireless. I have enough space. If I have a playlist say with 200 songs it will say on itunes sync window syncing 200 songs however I only get 150 songs on my iphone. I have restored iphone twice, I have tried playlists and smart play lists. It seems not to sync the same songs all the time. Prior to IO7 in sinced all my songs. I see on the chats that this is a big problem. Do you have any solutions. the songs that dont sync are the same format as those that do.

iOS 7 devices need iTunes 11.1 or newer to sync.  Depending upon your computer and the OS it is running, you may not be able to upgrade to iTunes 11.1 based on the requirements for iTunes 11.1.  What computer and OS are you running your iTunes on?  From the iTunes download pages I see the requiorements are:
    Macintosh System Requirements
Mac computer with an Intel Core processor
OS X version 10.6.8 or later
    400MB of available disk space
Broadband Internet connection to use the iTunes Store
    Windows System Requirements
PC with a 1GHz Intel or AMD processor and 512MB of RAM
Windows XP Service Pack 2 or later, 32-bit editions of Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
64-bit editions of Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8 require the iTunes 64-bit installer
    400MB of available disk space
Broadband Internet connection to use the iTunes Store

  • Columns in Finder windows won't stay where I put them!

WHen I open a finder window, put in LIST VIEW, then re-size my columns - everything is good now I can do stuff. BUT WAIT! I do one thing: dragging one folder and nesting it into another and BAM! The columns re-size back to the default. This is a deal-killer for me. I cannot work like this! If there is no fix, SOrry, but goodbye apple and hello Windows.

Open window is a folder named "Photos".
It contains many sub folders: Backyard photos, front yard photos, vacation photos, etc.
It also contains a ton of image files - that I'm sorting into their respective folders.
When I drag an image file titled "Backyard sunny" into the sub-folder "Backyard photos"... the columns all snap back to their default settings. FORCING ME TO RESIZE THEM.... then I drag another photo into another folder and the same thing happens again. THIS IS A SHUTDOWN OF MY USING MAC OS. I either need to return to Mavericks, or this needs to be fixed somehow. This never happened before, and it won't happen in the future, not on my desktop. I'd hate to start asking my wife to start teaching me windows. I've been a mac person my whole computing life (since the early 1990's) and never have I run into a show-stopper like this.
My computer is NON-FUNCTIONAL if the columns won't stay where I put them!

How can I stop Lion tidying my desktop and putting all my icons in alphabetical order. I like my files to stay where I put them! Every morning I boot up and all my desktop items have been moved. How can I stop this?
By the way - Lion is the worst 'upgrade' ever.

    Hello again:
I've been to 'view' - and all I can see are the same options as before. Nothing which says the equivalent of 'stop Lion tidying my desktop alphabetically every time I boot up' - alas.
    Hmmm.  Try something:
Trash a preference file (com.apple.finder.plist) and restart.  Then go to the view option while in Finder.  There should be a "show view options."  Select that and sort by "none."
FWIW, I have had no discernable change in speed under OS X 10.7, but that is just my system.  I only use Adobe's free stuff.  Have you checked with Adobe to see if there are updates available?  I rarely use text edit so I have no benchmark.  I don't like the missing save as either

  • What Does This Color Sync Profile First  Aid Log Mean??

I have been helping a friend trouble shoot some printing problems he is having with iPhoto. In the process, he ran verify in Profile First Aid in Color Sync. He got some errors and asked me to run mine. Here is my result:
    Searching for profiles...
    Checking 929 profiles...
    /Library/Printers/EPSON/LaserPrinter/Common/PageLibraries/Resources/Printer16/LP -8200C_Standard.icc
Tag 'cprt': Text tag has an incorrect length.
Tag 'cprt': Text contains invalid characters.
    /Library/Printers/Lexmark/510SeriesPM.plugin/Contents/Resources/510SeriesProfile .icc
Header white point is not D50.
    /Library/Printers/Lexmark/710SeriesPM.plugin/Contents/Resources/710SeriesProfile .icc
Header white point is not D50.
    /Library/Printers/Lexmark/810SeriesPM.plugin/Contents/Resources/810SeriesProfile .icm
Header white point is not D50.
    /Library/Printers/Lexmark/P910SeriesPM.plugin/Contents/Resources/P910SeriesProfi le.icc
Header white point is not D50.
Verify done - found 5 bad profiles.
I am having no problems with color output when printing (that I know of). He has been having color balance and other problems printing from iPhoto. My errors are the exact same as his in this Profile First Aid Log. What is the significance of these errors? Should they be repaired?
    Thanks,
    Steve M.

    Hi Steve,
    The problem is something else.
This report is showing you there are 5 profile out of 929 that your OS doesn't agree with for whatever reason.
Your friends issue is different than yours (yours works fine & his doesn't), this report has the same info in it because it's looking at the same profiles installed in the OS.
How the profiles are applied depends on the output device, paper, inks, yadda-yadda-ya.
Do not try to repair the ICC's, as they're most likely just fine. You should be able to find suitable results in one of the other 924 profiles, even if that was the issue.
Look for something different between your setups.
We're happy to help, but we need to know more about how the user is trying to print when the errors occur.
Applications, driver versions, printer, color space, etc.

  • Edit location where iphone4 puts uploaded mobileme video

I have a lot of photos and videos on my mobileme gallery already, and in various folders. How do I tell my iphone 4 where to put the video that I just shot when I select upload to mobileme? It's currently defaulting to a folder that I don't really want it to go to, but I don't know where to find a place that I can tell it to upload elsewhere. Help...

The last 2 queries are getting optional data out of the DB.  The user is not required to fill out those fields but if they do, I want to get that data.
I have designed it this way following the instruction of the book "head first php and my SQL" by Head First Labs.  It said that you should minimize duplicate data in a table as much as possible to keep them small.  Instead put the data in a separate table and reference it with a key.  Your tables should only describe one specific thing, so thats what I did.  I have them linked with foreign keys and primary keys.
In my case each user can have a vehicle saved for them, maybe 2 or 3.  for each vehicle they have the option of listing a car audio setup for that vehicle.  Now when they change their setup and update it on the site, a new setup entry is made.  That way the old pics/video of their old setup are still correct and all new pics will be correct as well.     So essentially each vehicle can have maybe 5. 10 setups linked to it.   Hence the separate table for video data, vehicle and setup.  make sense?
As for the joins, I was kind of confused on how to do it correctly with my particular queries. And since the 2nd and 3rd queries dont always need to be executed, i thought if i left it as 3 it might save some execution time as only 1 short query needs to be executed.
what is your opinion on the matter?
and what do you mean by procedural language? like if/else?

  • CS 6 Image Windows Don't Stay Where I Put Them

I installed CS 6 yesterday.  My system runs 64 bit Win 7.  In Preferences > Interface, as I did in CS 5, I unchecked both Open Documents as Tabs and Enable Floating Document Window.  However, unlike CS 5, in CS 6 images 'insist' on positioning themselves in the upper left corner of CS 6 and will cover both the options bar and the tool bar.  For example, this will happen after opening an image if I try to move it or if I enlarge the image window (CTRL-0).  If I open two images and try to move one so I can see both at the same time, the one I try to move will not stay where I put it but instead will reposition itself to the upper left, and cover the options bar and menu bar.
As you might image, this makes working in CS 6 difficult and inconvenient.  I assume this is a bug, and wonder if there are any workarounds or other solutions.  To this point, I have not yet uninstalled and re-installed CS 6.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Best regards,
    David

Can we assume you hate the Auto-Hide feature even worse?
    Hi,
The answer to your question is 'probably'.  I like things to stay put, ideally where I want them.  So far my feeling is that having the task bar on the bottom is the lesser of the two 'evils'.  But your note reminds me to give auto-hide another try.  Thanks.

  • Aperture. I have so many pictures and not sure where to put them now that my MacBook Pro is filled?

I have so many pictures on my Mac book pro on aperture that I can not put anymore on.  If I put them on a hard drive h
Then how do I access them like a library?

Aperture allows you to store your Images' Originals on any directly connected drive (must be formatted "Mac OS Extended, Journaled"), and gives you the option and the ability to move your Originals any time you want.
So get an external drive, format it correctly, select the Images whose Originals you want to move to that external drive, and move them using the command "File➞Relocate Originals".
An Image's Original must be on-line in order for you to be able to make adjustments, export, or print that Image.  When the Original is off-line, you are still able to change the metadata, and view and share the Image's Preview.
If you are uncertain about the parts of Aperture, my User Tip is as good a place to start as I know .
Here is the topic as covered in the well-done Users Manual.  Note that the User Manual uses the terms "Master" and "Original" synonymously, and that it confuses users by refering to referenced and managed _Images_.  Image's are not, themselves, referenced or managed.  The Original of each Image is a file (the one you imported); that file is the item that is either referenced or managed.

  • Editing color sync profile names?

Just not sure where to post this but my main concern is with Aperture use.
My problem is that many of the icc profiles that have been added to the various support folders have nearly useless names. Also the list as it appears in "View/Proofing Profile >) is essentially not organized in any meaningful way. I'd like to be able to edit the names as they appear in the menu and organize the list (using folder if possible).
I know where the icc profiles are supposed to be located. And I know that I can use ColorSync Utility to view and edit them a bit. In fact it appears that I can change the name but when I log out/in or restart nothing happens. Also some profiles in the list are not located in any of the normal folders. I think these maybe in the printer support folders.
Any ideas? This area is a major mess. Am I missing something obvious?
Sure wish printing services would name these with some thought.
    John

You might want to try calibrating the PB's display.

  • Color sync profile erros

I've got errors in 6 profiles, and the colors on my screen are weird (very over saturated).  How in the world do I fix these?  Clicking repair does nothing.
This happened after I installed a new hard drive that was a clone of the old hard drive.  I'm guessing what's missing didn't transfer in the cloning.

The first of those profiles is a built-in system file, but is not in one of the folders that ColorSync Utility normally searches for profiles, so I'm not sure why you're seeing it there. The others are all Adobe files that you installed. If you haven't already done so, I suggest you calibrate your display (System Preferences > Displays >  Color > Calibrate.)

  • Locating where iTunes put my backups

So I am trying to update my iPhone (it's about maybe 3 or 4 updates behind) and I am struggling to find out where my previous backs up are because they are apparently corrupted and I can't make a new back up without finding and deleting the old back ups. I am using a Windows 7 OS 32 Bit.
I had a hrd time figuring out if this was an iPhone problem or an iTunes problem so I apologize if this is posted in the wrong section.
    Thank you for the help

    Why not?

  • Why aren't my playlists syncing in the order i put them in?

I put my playlists in a specific order - why, when my iTouch is synced does it not keep them in that order???  I've read about 'smart playlists' - I'm fairly certain that my playlists are not 'smart' - but I was curious as to how one can tell???

A Smart Playlist has a small cog like icon in iTunes. A regular playlist has a a musical note on top of a piece of "sheet-music paper" icon.
If you highlight a Playlist in iTunes and select File, if Edit Smart Playlist is greyed out, then it isn't a Smart Playlist. If you can Edit Smart Playlist, then it is.
You cannot distinguish Smart Playlists from regular Playlists on the iPod Touch, they look the same.
