Canon Elura and Powershot no longer are recognized by 10.4.7
Looks like others are having this same problem, but there are no answers to the previous posts, so thought I'd add my problem to the queue. I'm pasting in the response I got from Canon when I emailed them. Apparently they recognize that the recent upgrade has created communication/recognition problems with Mac. Obviously their suggestion to use iPhoto to upload pics is not a solution. They state that they are working on it, and I wondered if Mac was working on the problem from their end. Thanks.

Please note, with the update of OS 10.4.7, we are experiencing an issue
with USB communications. You may attempt to download using Apple's
software iPhoto.
Currently, our only suggestion is to revert back to Mac OS 10.4.6 if you
wish to keep USB communication. Our engineers have been notified and
are currently investigating the cause of this issue. You may also wish
to contact Apple for possible updates to resolve this issue.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Which Powershot camera are you having problems with? Did you update to 10.4.7 via the Software Update preference pane? If you download and reinstall the 10.4.7 COMBO updater followed by a repair of disk permissions.
With the camera attached check System Profiler and see if it recognizes the camera. You can try using Image Capture, located in the Applications folder, to download from the camera to the desktop. If will often work.

Canon Elura 80 suddenly no longer recongized by HD express
I've imported a lot of video but last night, no matter what I tried, I could not get my mac to recognize my camera. The only change I know of is I lost the original Canon cable and replaced it with a new IEEEE-1394 cable. I tried two different cables. I unplugged my external firewire hard drive. I unplugged the computer for ten minutes. I used easy settings. I truly appreciate any and all help solving this problem. Thank you!

Reboot. Disconnect all other devices except the keyboard and mouse. Plug in the camera. Turn it on in VCR mode. Launch the application. Set the correct settings for your media. Does the application see the device? If not, do not proceed further. Check the connection and try a different cable. -
my ipod touch 2g is no longer being recognized by itunes why and what can i do i have reset it and everything
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. -
I have a canon 7d and my aperture version 3.4.5 is not recognizing the raw format? The Can not review any raw photo in the adjustments/raw fine tuning controls.
When i click on the adjustments everything is grayed out and the messages states " Image Not Found'.
Are you seeing broken arrows or yellow warning triangles, when you enable badge overlays?
That looks, like your original image files were missing. Are your images referenced or managed?
Create a smart album with the rules "Files status is missing" or "Files status is offline". This will show you any images, where the original raw files cannot be found. -
Canon Elura 100 and Firewire 400
I had been happily using my Canon Elura 100 with my FW400 port up until I upgraded to Leopard. The FW400 port is home to my Lacie 250GB FW 400 external drive and prior to upgrading to Leopard I had no problem sharing the port when I needed to transfer video form my camera. Now that I have upgraded to Leopard the port recognized the external HD but not the camera. I tried uninstalling all cables and rebooting...to no avail. I tried daisy chaining the camera by using the extra FW400 port on the back of the Lacie...again to no avail. I am extremely disappointed as it should "just work".
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.I found another reference to this camera from someone who couldn't connect when they upgraded from OS 10.2 to OS 10.3. Apparently the issue was caused by QuickTime. He got the connection working again after following the steps in KB 301852, Final Cut Pro: Restoring a DV device connection in QuickTime 7.
Remember to do the last step "Download and install the latest version of QuickTime for Mac OS X."
Give that a shot and see how it goes. -
Tried to restore my ipod classic on a windows computer... there was some sort of failure and it is now stuck in "disk mode." The ipod is no longer being recognized by itunes.
I am having the exact same problem. My ipod has been stuck in disk mode for over two hours and now itunes is frozen.

We had a Linksys modem-router configuration previously and it worked just fine for all three printers in our home. 2 Canon's and 1 Kodak. In addition, my HP laptop cannot use the network at all and Im forced to use my mifi card at home for my work computer. I thought Airport would improve communications and instead we seem to have just the opposite. Is there a utility we can use to allow everything to communicate with one another
If all of your wireless clients are unable to connect to the new AirPort Extreme, there may be something amiss with either the Extreme's settings or the modem/Extreme interface if you are also not able to access the Internet with your HP laptop.
When changing ISPs (or networking equipment) it's always a good idea to start from "scratch" in configuring your equipment.
I would recommend that you do the following as a minimum:
Power-down the modem, AirPort base station, and computer(s).
While all of the devices are powered-down, perform a "factory default" reset on the base station. This will get it back to its "out-of-the-box" configuration and make setting it up much easier, especially if you use the "Assist me" process within the AirPort Utility. (ref: Resetting an AirPort Base Station or Time Capsule)
After the base station resets, go ahead and power it back down.
Power-up the modem; wait at least 10-15 minutes.
Power-up the base station; wait at least 5-10 minutes.
Power-up your computer(s).
In this basic configuration, computers connected to the base station, either by wire or wireless (as appropriate for the base station type), should now be able to access the Internet through the ISP's modem. Once Internet connectivity has been verified, you can use the AirPort Utility to configure the base station for wireless security and any other desired options.

My iPhone 5 is not being recognized by my iMac. All my other devices, including iPod and iPad are recognized with no sync problems. I've tried every approach with online help as well as an Apple advisor by phone. Help? Any other suggestions other than going to an Apple Store?

Oh I know there are many other vocabulary mistakes but never mind them I was just too excited when I wrote all of that while typing very quickly
P.S: if you have any question then ask and please do tell me if it works or not with u but I'm definitely sure it'll work so tell me this and we'll get excited together

I updated to the latest iOS and now YouTube and the Ap store are no longer on my phone. Also, not all my music will play and if I play a song it will actually play a different song while displaying the one I chose. Any ideas how to fix this?
You have to download the individual youtube app now. It is no longer a nataive ios app from apple in ios6

Okay ... Try updating your iTunes using an iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) installer file downloaded from the Apple website:

I have recently updated my OS from Leopard to Snow Leopard but now my external hard drive and even my iPhone are not recognized by my Macbook Pro! Anyone have a suggestion??
Zap the PRAM and Reset the SMC, then try again. If the problem remains, update to 10.6.8 and repeat.

I just updated my 4S with iOS 8.1.1 and now my screens are not proportioned correctly - just a bit to long and wide. Is there a way to adjust? Or go back to 8.1?

I am sorry to hear about the screen issues. To clarify, do you only notice the screen proportion difference when in a certain application? By to long or wide are you stating that parts of the screen images are cut off? Please provide details
