    Hi WC!
Thanks for posting on the forum.
It is very likely that the issue is with the cards you have tried and not the camera.
You mentioned that you were going to try a faster card.
Were you able to do so yet?
If so, how did the faster card perform?
Do you experience the same issue when recording to a high-speed CF card instead of an SD card?
If this is a time sensitive-matter, additional support options are available at Contact Us.

  • I am unable to open raw files from my Canon T1i in Adobe Camera Raw of my version CS3 of Photoshop.  I have tried to update my ACR by downloading version 4.6 from the Adobe website but I am still unable to open raw files, just JPEG.  Is there a way to use

I am unable to open raw files taken on my Canon Rebel T1i in my version of Photoshop CS3.  When I import raw files into Bridge they come up as patches with CR2 on them and when clicked on, a notice comes up stating that Photoshop does not recognize these files.  I tried to update my Adobe Camera Raw by downloading version 4.6 from the Adobe Website, but when I clicked on the plus-in, I got another message that Photoshop does not recognize this file.  I spoke with a representative from Canon who said that I could not update CS3 and that I should subscribe to the Cloud.  I would prefer to use my CS3, if possible.  Can anyone advise me what to do?

The T1i was first supported by Camera Raw 5.4 which is only compatible with CS4 and later

    Some options:
    Upgrade to CS6
    Join the Cloud
Download the free Adobe DNG converter, convert all T1i Raw files to DNGs then edit the DNGs in CS3

  • Unable to open RAW files in CS6 after update

    Hi all,
I have Photoshop CS6 and have been able to open my D4 Raw files with no issues using the Camera Raw version 7.1 plugin.
Yesterday I upgraded my Mac OS from Snow Leopard to Yosemite (a big jump I agree) and proceeded to update Photoshop to the latest version as well as installing Adobe DNG Converter 8.8.
I am apparently still using the same 7.1 plugin version as I always have but I am now no longer able to open any RAW files through Photoshop as it displays a message saying 'files not recognised' when I try to open them.
Have I skipped too many updates? Do the latest Photoshop CS6 updates leave me unable to open RAW files? Am I being pushed down the CC route?
Could anybody offer any help at all as I have a wedding to edit but cannot open any files!!! Stress!!!
I backed up my system through Time Machine before I did the update but im not sure if I restore that I will still have Yosemite OS running.
Any help or advice really is appreciated.
    Many thanks.
    Phil

Camera RAW should be at version 8.8 for CS6

  • Unable to open Raw files from EOS 7D (edit: Mark II) in PSE13

I have just installed Photoshop Elements 13. According to Help -> Updates I have the latest versions. Still when I open a CR2 file from an EOS 7D it fails. A box is shown telling me verify my updates and gives a link to page in the Adobe site. I have downloaded the Camera Raw file version 5.6. Can not run it because I have 32-bir Windows 7. Anyone have had the same problem?

See How do I get Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) support for my new Canon EOS 7D mkii.
Adobe Camera Raw does not yet support the 7D Mark II. Unfortunately you'll have to wait for Adobe to release an update sometime in the near future.
In the meantime, use Canon's DPP software to open the Raw file then save as a TIFF. Then open in Elements.

  • Unable to open raw files from canon d70 in elements 12 help

hi. just purchased elements 12 as i was told it would open my canon d70 raw files. have installed elements 12 and done the update from the update box in elements but still it wont open raw files. any help would be greatly appreciated.

There is probably a way to hack your system into work with ACR 8.3 using the plug-in ZIP file from this page and copying it manually to the specific folder where it needs to go:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/multi/camera-raw-84-support-policy.html#To%20run%20Came ra%20Raw%20on%20Mac%20OS%2010.6,%20Windows%20XP,%20or%20Windows%20Vista,%20remove%20the%20 8.4%20plug-in%20and%20manually%20reinstall%20Camera%20Raw%208.3
Download the 32-bit version of ACR 8.3 from the page, above.
Unzip it to the file Camera Raw.8bi.
Copy that new Camera Raw.8bi over the top of the existing one in this folder:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\Elements 12\File Formats
Then install the DNG Converter 8.3 as mentioned in the page, above.

  • Unable to open RAW files after reinstalling Photoshop CS4

I recently did a system recovery to my computer due to downgrading to Windows 7; however, after I installed Design Premium back to my PC, I am not able to open RAW files in Photoshop. It prompted "Could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document." I tried to check for Photoshop updates but no updates are available. I tried re-installing Design Premium but the issue still persists.
My system configuration is as follows:
Windows 7 Professional x64 (Yet to install Service Pack 1, but I don't think that really matters)
Adobe Creative Suite 4 Design Premium (Photoshop Version 11.0)
Canon EOS 50D (Firmware Version 1.08)
Anyone may have a clue on how to fix that? Thanks a lot!
    Screenshot as follows:

When you reinstalled CS4, you  went back to the original release.
Now you must apply all the updates to Photoshop and to  Adobe Camera Raw manually.
You cannot rely on the Adobe auto updater to tell you that you are up to date.  That updater was broken for years and years, and that was and is certainly the case with CS4.
Adobe didn't get their updater act together until CS6.
You also have to update the ACR plug-in manually.

  • Unable to open Raw file in CS5 with ACR 6.7. [was:ACR]

cannot open raw image in PS5 even though ACR has the latest version 6.7.0.339

What camera?  ACR 6.7  will not open RAW files for cameras that came out after that version of ACR was released.

  • Photoshop CC: unable to open Raw files from Canon T1i

I am trying to edit photos in the raw CR2 format I took with my Canon T1i.  I cannot get the new Photoshop CC to open them.  I think I need a plug in to do this but cannot find out where to download the plug in.  Please send a link to the plug in 5.4 for windows and how to download it so i can finish editing the photos I have.  Thanks!

The Canon T1i has been supported by Photoshop since Photoshop CS4 (via an upgrade to ACR 5.4).
The Adobe Camera Raw plugin has been able to read T1i Raw files out-of-the-box in Photoshop since CS5.
    Something else must be happening.
raw CR2 format I took with my Canon T1i.  I cannot get the new Photoshop CC to open them.
What happens when you try? Any error messages?

  • Unable to open RAW files with Photoshop CS6 - Camera Raw

    Hi all,
I'm trying to open .CR2 files from a Canon 450D on Photoshop CS6 as well as with Lightroom 4 but it doesn't work.
I've updated the Adobe Camera Raw to its latest edition (8.8), but anyway, when I try to open them it appears the message below: It basically says that photoshop is not able to open the file, make sure that you have installed the latest edition of Camera Raw and to visit the link for further info...
After looking for solutions on Internet, I've also tried to convert the RAW files into DNG, but Adobe DNG converter says that the folder does not contain any RAW file, though they are all .CR2 files...
I've tried several times in many ways... Any help would be much appreciated. Many thanks in advance.

    Hi Benjamin,
You were right. It was the camera's provided software transfer system. I've copied them directly from the (same) card to the desktop and works.
    Many many thanks! Cheers

  • Unable to open RAW file in CS6 via LR 4.1

Not able to open in CS6 from LR 4.1 the RAW (CR2) files created by the new Canon 5D MKIII - the CS6 program opens but the actual RAW file itself does not open in ACR or Photoshop so unable to edit directly from Lightroom.
(For the record I can open these same CR2 RAW files directly in ACR 7 or CS6)

Are you sure you can open the 5D.3 CR2 files with CS6/ACR7?
When I open your file in CS6/ACR7 I get a message that it cannot be opened and a link to an Adobe knowledge-base article that tells what versions of ACR support what cameras—which of course doesn’t apply to beta versions, which ACR7 is, but is generally appropriate to the situation.
The blog post Dorin linked to suggests the 5D.3 is not yet supported by ACR7.   I suspect Photoshop CS6 camera-support is lagging behind CS5 because the RAW team had LR4 to get out the door before CS6 was released as beta.
The 5D.3 CR2 files ARE supported by ACR6.7 RC in CS5 if perhaps that is what you’ve been successful with.  The 5D3 CR2 files are also convertible to DNG by the DNGC 6.7 RC and then could be opened in ACR7.

  • Unable to open raw file after update to Raw 5.2

I am using Photo shop CS4 on a Intel Mac. I have down loaded the Raw 5.2 update, but Photo shop does not recognize the raw file. I have a Canon EOS 50D.

How and where did you install the ACR-plug-in? Did you decompress it first? Did you replace the old plug-in you found at that precise same location? What do you see as far as Camera Raw in Photoshop > About Plug-in?
