Canon HF100 import using imovie08 bloated the content size by 8 times

I imported videos from canon HF100 in AVCHD format to iMAC using iMovies 08.
The content in the camera was around 8GB, but after iMovies finished the imported content size on iMAC was 58 GB.
I have imported 1080i videos in large format, but don't think it should increase the actual size by 8 times on import. Any help is greatly appreciated.

1080i AIC movie's datarate is about 89mbps, and AVCHD datarate ranges from 6 to 24mpbs. If you shot your AVCHD footage with 12 or 13mbps rate (usually mid quality setting, depending on camera model) it would explain the size difference.

I assume you ment Export-SPWeb not Export-SPSite command.
There is no known limitations in file size, except the compression file size that is set to 24MB by default. If you exceed 24MB, the cmp file will be splitted into several files. You can change the default 24MB value up to 1024MB, using the -compressionsize
parameter.

You can't merge accounts or copy content to a different account, so anything that you bought or downloaded via the old account is tied to that account - so any updates that those apps get you will only be able to download via that account. You can change which account is logged in on the iPad via Settings > Store

Can a formula produced Cell identity ever be used to extract the contents of the cell ?

1) Does anyone know if the contents of a cell whos address is obtained with    ' ADDRESS(ROW(),3,4) '    can be placed in another cell ?
I have only been able to use it as a reference such as:-   =IF((ROW()-2)>(ADDRESS(ROW(),3,4)),"Y","N")   This uses the content of column C on the same row as the function, and compares to a row number 2 rows further up; (ROW()-2)   but you can't seem to obtain or place the content in another cell. like you can with   =C5.
2) Does anyone know how to locate the row/cell in a column range, say, D2:D8 that is empty or has a specified value ?
The idea is to determin    1) if a a row has been added and, because any cells in that row will be empty,   2) locate the row.
I realise that both solutions are not necessary for the obove but, they would be useful for other uses if they can be done.

Breaking that down, using the C5 example:
You have the text string "C"
You have, using a formula, determined the row number 5.
You want to get the content of cell C5
Use CONCATENATE to build the text string "C5"
Use that text string "C5" as the argument for INDIRECT
Your formula will be =INDIRECT(CONCATENATE("C",sum(2,3)))
with 'sum(2,3)' replaced by the formula you are using to determine the row number needed for the cell reference.

SaveFrameBookAsPdf using FDK11 gets the contents cropped to the top and right of the rendered PDF.

I am using a method to Save Frame file as PDF using FDK 11 and this works fine. Currently, I have a requirement to Save the whole Frame book as PDF for which i am trying with the same method but the output is not accurate. The contents in the rendered PDF is cropped to the Top and Right. Tried several options and could not figure out the cause of the issue. any help would be highly appreciated.

This clip is made up of two clips on top of one another, Video 1 has a 50% right crop and Video 2 has a 50% left crop. Video 2 crossfades into a clip of the scene with no actors in it which also has a 50% left crop. I have had this issue on footage shot with two different cameras, one a Sony HD camcorder and the other a little Fujifilm point and shoot still camera with HD video capabilities. Perhaps "randomly" is the wrong word to use though because I have tried recreating this and other scenes from scratch a few times and I always have the same problem with the right side of the screen disappearing at the same time no matter what I do. In the project I am working on, I have several scenes where this effect is needed and some of the footage seems to work fine while other scenes consistently give me this issue.
I also just remembered that I have CS4 (but CS3 runs a little better on my computer) so I'll try putting the clip together in CS4 and see if it still does the same thing.

Is anyone else having trouble using pixels for the canvas size instead of in's in the trial version?

I go to image and then image size and everytime i go to change the canvas size to inches it will not work. Is it becasue the it's the trial version?

oh ok I found out the resample but it still doesn't allow me to adjust the canvas size to pixels. The option is still in inches and it is impossible to crop quickly with it in inches

I had exact same problem wanting to play mts files i'd recorded on my HD video camera. I had about 45GB in mts formart.
I now use a program called Wondershare Video converter ultimate. You can tell it to save them in various formats Apple TV being one of them.
Really easy to use and if like me you have 5 or 6 (or more) shorter recrdings of the same event you can merge these into one file for a longer length movie clip.
Really easy to use and well worth the money it cost. (only about UK £45)
..... in fact just read you message again and you have the exact same camera as I do!

It's the netbeans IDE from www.netbeans.org it's a free integrated development environment for java. It includes many editors, for .java files, .properties files and many others. It is designed to accept text in the non-ascii format and convert it for use in properties files.

They are saved as ascii characters, not glyphs. For example, I entered MSGothic (MSゴシック) in japanese using net beans and it looks like this when I use a normal text editor: MS\u30B4\u30B7\u30C3\u30AF

It should work for any language that your windows/linux system has support for (need the right fonts for a start). My system is native japanese, so I have all the required japanese fonts installed. If you want to use (for example) Chinese on an English system, you'll have to get the fonts and probably you will need to modify the jre/lib/font.properties file.

How to show the content for a perticular time period(consider 30 days)

There is a requirement that content should reside the portal only for 30 days and then it should be archived. Archiving means that it should be searchable from portal but it should not be visible on the portal. How would that happen?. Kindly tell me if there is an OOTB from jdeveloper or we need to do coding for that..

Archiving means that it should be searchable from portal but it should not be visible on the portal.Before I got to this point I thought: a peanut - just define the Expiry Date parameter as entry date + 30 (this can even be automated) and you are done.
The issue is that expired items are not searchable (except, perhaps, some admin searches). Having said that, the original idea is still valid, it only needs few more precisions:
a) "should not be visible on the portal" - what does that exactly mean for you? Content items can be visible in Document section (e.g. in Spaces), they can be placed directly to pages, or displayed via Document Service Task Flows such as Content Presenter, Document Explorer, etc. Either way, there is one method which will work for all: in WebCenter Content it's called Archiver. Originally, it was designed to dump content items to the disk, and then, you could easily upload them to another system (with different metadata, if you will). Since Archiver works also if you work with just one system, you can use it to "mass update" metadata of desired items (older than 30 days). Note, however, that this method might be quite slow if you work with a lot of data.
b) "should be searchable" - the idea of the Archiver (or another method alike) is that you take the item from its place ("searchable"/"visible") and put it to a new one (just "seachable"). Again, the question is what "searchable" exactly means for you. Some methods might work with portal-only data (from where you wanted to have it removed), whilst others might be more "federated" (e.g. WebCenter Content has a search portlet where you can search any content in the repository).
There are definitely ways to implement what you intend, but you should provide more details.

What setting should I use to make a small sized movie for my family that lives 1200 miles away. I am using the iSight with QT Pro 7.0.4 and will be emailing them via Apple Mail to my mom that uses the most current version of AOL for PC with a 1 Meg DSL connection. The reason I am emailing them is she does not have a camera to live chat.
The first movie I tried was over 4 meg and these files have to go over the internet. It bounced back saying it was to big. It was only a minute long.

Make your recordings and then open the QuickTime movie.
Use the Share menu and choose the email small setting. You'll get an estimated file size in the dialog window.
Your viewers must have QuickTime 7 installed to view these files.

How can I import a photo at the original size into a book page without iPhoto stretching it out?

I have photos that are different sizes but cannot be cropped or stretched or the whole image can't be seen. Is there a way to import photos without ibook manipulating them?

Are you talking about iBooks Author? To make a PDF: File > Export or Share > Email PDF
To constrain an image open metrics inspector and select constrain proportions.
I just downloaded the programme and had a quick squiz of the Help menu.

When typing an email the font size enlarges eveery time i hit the return button.

Importing and editing from Canon HF100

I am looking at buying a camcorder, and particularly an HF100. My main uses will be personal - I have a new baby coming so I want to capture those moments, and my wife and I travel a lot and like to take a camera with us.
I'm running a MacBook 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo, and I have iMovie 08. Can my computer handle inputing and editing the footage? I like the idea of flash memory but am not sure if I'd be better off with old school tape.
Any ideas?

I probably am not the most qualified to answer this post but wanted to weigh in on this. I have done an enormous amount of research prior to purchasing my Canon HF100. First I got the camera but did not purchase the sd card at the same time so I sat there like a kid at christmas with a new toy and no batteries. Finally the card arrived 2 days ago. I wanted this camera because I needed better quality video over the JVC HDD. With everything pointing to AVCHD and everyone touting the quality and speed I thought this was my best move. 30 minutes of FXP video takes over 1 hour to import into iMovie08. I am not impressed with the video quality and do not know at this moment why the video, not the audio, freezes on playback in Quicktime or iMovie. If I could go back to the old school tape I would. Maybe I will change my mind in the next couple of days and if I do I will post it back here.
