Canon i sensys MF8450 does not work with snow leopard

impossible de connecter ni en usb ni en réseau,
question subsidiaire, comme snow leopard n'est visiblement pas au point pour certains périphériques, comment revenir a l'operating system précédent ???

Have a look at my last posting re Canon network printing.

  • Canon MP620 print driver does not work with Snow Leopard

Bought a Macbook & bundled Canon MP620 printer in Dec 08. Two days ago upgraded to Snow Leopard, and I can no longer print (the printer is not recognized), it only sees "Bonjour scanner" (the printer is a multi-function printer, copier, fax, scanner). Spent more than two hours with two different Apple tech support people over the phone; talked to Apple personnel in store. My printer is connected via Ethernet cable to a wireless modem, and I connect to the wireless modem via Airport. The phone tech person insisted that this printer is supported by Snow Leopard, but we reloaded the print driver from the Snow Leopard installation disk with no results. Finally my last resort, which worked, is to go to Radio Shack and get a cable that has a USB-A (printer) to USB-B (Mac) attachment. I was able to print. It is unacceptable for Apple to have this problem, as I went into the store four different times to discuss whether I should upgrade to Snow Leopard, and was told on every occasion that Snow Leopard will make everything run faster, more smoothy, etc. NOT! I want Apple to post a notice on their web site to a) confirm their print driver problems with Snow Leopard and b) to confirm WHEN new print drivers will be released.

According to Roaring Apps, there is a version of Protools compatible with Lion.  But you may need Snow Leopard 10.6.8 to buy either Lion or ML on MAS.   It looks like you need to get up-to-date with your OS and the apps too.

  • Really imovie HD6 DOES not work with snow leopard

I was planning on buying a new computer a mac pro quad
Does imovie HD 6 work on the new OS?
    please help
    thanks
    scott

"..Does iMovie 06 use QuickTime?.." ..I understand that iMovie uses some elements of QuickTime for display, for transitions, etc. (..Maybe you don't remember that until QuickTime was altered, a while ago, you could specify the duration of a transition in PAL in iMovie, but the timing matched only NTSC frame rates..)
"..I have QuickTime Pro 7.6.4 for OS 10.5.." ..I had - still have - QuickTime Pro 7.6.3 for 10.5 (Leopard), but I chose to keep that while installing 10.6 (Snow Leopard).
"..Should I back it up somehow?.." ..erm; d'you mean Backup using Retrospect or Time Machine, or d'you mean 'back up' as in revert to an earlier version? I'd think 7.6.4 is perfectly OK, and I always Backup to a separate disc before doing a big installation (..e.g; Snow Leopard).
"..I thought that 10.6 included QuickTime X, and deleted the older QuickTime.." ..It does include QuickTime X, but at installation it offers you the opportunity to keep your older QuickTime version, too. It doesn't necessarily delete the older QuickTime.
"..So it looks like iMovie 06 and 10.6 are "Good", but is the compatibility of QuickTime X also an issue here?.." ..Dunno. No compatibility problems seem to have arisen for me, but then I haven't used iMHD6 a lot since upgrading to 10.6. I notice you've posted repeated queries about whether still clips continue to play properly in iMHD6 with 10.6 ..I've had no problems with still clips: they run for the correct duration, and accept transitions before and after, etc. Maybe I have no compatibility problems because I still have QT7. Both of them - QT7 and QT X - work happily along with each other, and both can be open simultaneously.
"..(I STILL hope for a iMovie 06 upgrade someday.).." ..I don't think that day's gonna come. Steve looks forward, not back.

  • Xerox Workcentre 3119 does not work with Snow Leopard?

I just installed Snow Leopard and my existing printers are not recognized. I had no problem with Leopard. I tried re-installing the printer driver but still no go.
This is frustrating. Can anyone help?

Lassiter, here's your Oz url: "AUS Web Support," <[email protected]>
Note that it's only the printing that doesn't work. Scanning and copying both work OK. Files can still be printed from another Mac or drive with 10.5 or earlier if it has the appropriate program installed.
In response to the last post in this thread I have done everything suggested but Fuji-Xerox have not provided an update yet to make this particular printer work as a printer with SL. The message given in the print queue window is:
+The printer software was installed incorrectly. Please reinstall the printer’s software or contact the manufacturer for assistance.+
    +Printer offline.+
Their latest installation package is for 10.5 and dated Apr 2008 but the ppd is Feb 2006. There are no other printer files apparently installed by the installer as are provided for other printers supported in SL.
The only permissions repair issue since playing with other installers is the usual batch for Adobe Flash Player!

  • Juniper Java Secure Application Manager does not work with Snow Leopard

Anyone else having issues as well? I'm not using a client - its basically the Java based application manager for VPN connections to work (so I can remote desktop to my work PC).
Once logged in, it gives a "Restart your browser" error.
    Thanks for your help

OK - so I got it to work. Here's what I did. Let me know if it works for you:
I wasn't able to follow the instructions exactly as noted in the original link I posted above.
The terminal command, specifically wget would not work - there is no wget.
I manually downloaded the Java 1.5 version, by following the link (just clicked on it). I 'unzipped' it and moved it into the library/frameworks/JavaVM.framework/versions folder.
So now the 1.5.0 is not an alias (as it is by default in SL), but the older version of Java.
I then followed the instruction related to changing the order in JAVA PREFERENCES.
The final stop - and I think this is key, is that I forced Safari to start in 32 bit mode. You can do this by going to Applications, highlighting Safari and hitting CMD-I. Then check the 32 bit option.
Start Safari, go to the appropriate URL and login. The Java Secure Application Manager should then start as it used to do in Leopard. You should be all set.
Hope this helps - let me know if someone has questions.

I have a canon multifunction printer that used to work with snow leopard but since I updated to mountain lion it stoped working. How do I make it work again?

This problem is not unheard of when upgrading from Snow Leopard. It is usually solved by completely deleting the existing printer in System Preferences > Print & Scan, and adding it again.

  • Does LiveType work with Snow Leopard?

I recently updated to Snow Leopard and the latest Final Cut Studio. When I went to open LiveType, I got the following message:
    LiveType quit unexpectedly.
Click Reopen to open the application again. Click Report to see more detailed information and send a report to Apple.
Does LiveType work with Snow Leopard? Do I trash my preferences or reinstall the program from my original version of Final Cut Studio?
    Any ideas?

Am I the only one who feels like that is ridiculous? Apple provides the possibility to upgrade to the new Final Cut Studio from the original version of Final Cut Studio, but in so doing, disables a program that was working fine before the upgrade, and doesn't provide any avenue to fix the problem? Is that really the way things work in the world of Apple computing? Does that compute?
I hope that this is not right...
For some reason this reminds me of Thoreau...
    "Simplify, simplify."
This seems to be the antithesis of "Think Different" doesn't it?
Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes.
The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them, disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them.
About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They invent. They imagine. They heal. They explore. They create. They inspire. They push the human race forward.
Maybe they have to be crazy.
How else can you stare at an empty canvas and see a work of art? Or sit in silence and hear a song that’s never been written? Or gaze at a red planet and see a laboratory on wheels?
While some see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.
But in Apple's world, if you missed update number two then that's all you're going to get is an empty canvas, because the program used to put print on your canvas is no longer available. And if you go looking for another option, like for instance if you take their slogan literally:
    They’re not fond of rules.
Then what is Apple going to do about it? I think if you read the news it's pretty obvious what Apple's going to do about it.
Is it any wonder that they dismissed their slogan, because it did not fit in with their business plan.
    Any comments?

    No.

  • M-Audio MIDISPORT UNO USB Not Working With Snow Leopard

My Snow Leopard installation worked fine except until I plugged in my MacBook to my Casio Privia with the M=Audio MIDISPORT UNO USB cable to run GarageBand. I'm getting a MIDI error which states it can't work with the latest operating system. It doesn't surprise me though for all the software and hardware driver updates that have to catch up to such a new OSX 10.6. I went to the M-Audio site to download the latest driver, but the drivers only were compatible with OSX10.5.8.
This is an alert at the site
Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard Support Coming Soon
Avid/M-Audio working closely with Apple to offer support for OS X 10.6
Avid/M-Audio is pleased to hear that Apple has released Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard. We’ve been working closely with Apple to bring Snow Leopard support to the M-Audio® product line, as well as the Pro Tools® product line and extended product families. We ask that all existing Mac users please wait to upgrade until we officially announce Snow Leopard support. Stay tuned for more information in the coming weeks.
This is a bit of a concern, because I need to get GarageBand running again with the MIDI hook ups. Is there a work around anyone knows about to get MIDI working with Snow Leopard.
    Thanks Steve

I ran into a similar problem. I discovered one thing which may help you out though. It works OK with my Yamaha P200 keyboard but it does not work with my Yamaha NP30 keyboard. I looked at the MIDI stream and the only difference seems to be that the NP30 sends a continuous stream of MIDI clock, whereas the P200 does not. My theory is that this clock stream is somehow confusing the driver. I can't seem to disable the MIDI clock on my NP30 but if your Privia has the ability to disable MIDI clock, then it may be worth a try as it will probably fix the problem until they come out with the proper drivers.

  • HP LaserJet P1005 not working with Snow Leopard

Has anyone managed to get this printer to work with Snow Leopard 10.6? I have installed the latest drivers* from the HP website which BTW do not say they support 10.6 , see http://is.gd/2DfcE
*Not sure exactly what the version number of the drivers is. The website says they are version 1.0.7, but when installed they show version 1.0.6
I either get nothing coming out of the printer or an error "PrintJobMgr quit unexpectedly - This report will be sent to Apple automatically".

    From this web page:
Here are some troubleshooting steps you can use if there is an issue:
Ensure the printer is connected, has power, has ink / toner, paper, and no alerts on its built-in display.
Network based printers should be on the same subnet; you shouldn't have to worry about this if your printer is on your home network.
Use Software Update for the latest available updates.
Delete the affected printer from Printer & Fax System Preferences, then re-add the printer.
If the issue persists, reset printing system as described below, then re-add the printer.
If the issue persists, contact the printer vendor and/or visit their website for printer software and support.

  • Does Airport work with Snow Leopard?

I have a Mac Mini which has to keep running Snow Leopard (10.6.8) in order to use some legacy software.  Does the basic Airport router work with Snow Leopard?

THANK you.  That's exactly what I was trying to ask.
If I had a Mavericks laptop, would I be able to set up the router that way, even if I could only connect wirelessly via the laptop?  (it's a Macbook Air)  And then plug the Snow Leopard mini into the router once it was set up?
I'm guessing I would have to download the Airport utility to the Macbook Air before replacing my current router with the Airport, right?

  • ZTE AC8710 does not work on Snow Leopard 10.6.3

I have a ZTE AC 8710 card, recently purchased MacBook Pro with Snow Leopard 10.6.3. The Reliance data card does not work even after installing the drivers 1.0.27 available on the website. The Network preference just detects the ZTE wireless terminal but not the AT and voice channel and I am unable to dial out. I tried the new generation ZTE card(2726) of a friend and that works perfectly with 10.6.3. I have tried the WWAN settings mentioned in one of the threads but even that did not work. After modifyng the .plist file from the terminal as mentioned in the forum, I was stil not able to get it working. The Reliance drivers detects the device as ZTE Wireless terminal but does not connect. The same device works perfectly fine with my Dell Laptop running windows XP. Any help appreciated.
P.S Reliance Engineers came to check, but said it is not working.

    Hi Brody,
Can you add the device to Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Network on the left hand side, and move it up to the top device?
The Device is already on the top
Does it make any different if you zap the PRAM?
