Canon ImageClass MF4270 Printer Driver

Hi
The Canon ImageClass MF4270 actually worked in an older version of OS X, but I can't seem to get anything to print at all in 10.6.7 using the latest drivers from Canon (2.24).
I've tried both via USB and over ethernet. The UFR II Printmonitor is also unable to communicate with the printer.
The following info [1] was dumped to the console.
Any suggestions... Apple? ... Canon?
Canon actually advertises that this printer works with "Mac OS X v10.6", and I've already given them the same bug report.
This printer works very well in Ubuntu Linux and all versions of Windows. Oddly, one of the reasons that I migrated from Linux to Mac was because things Just Work™.
C
PS: although the error says the printer is paused, it is, in fact, not.

With the backend service (cntdbmu) failing and the Printmonitor also failing to communicate with the printer, I would suggest you trash all the UFR2 files and reinstall.
Open System Preferences > Print & Fax, select the UFR2 print queue and press the - (minus) button to remove the queue. Exit from Print & Fax
Open Finder and navigate to HD > Library > Printers > Canon and trash the UFR2 folder
Still in Finder, navigate to HD > Library > LaunchAgents and trash the file "jp.co.canon.UFR2.BG.plist". Exit from Finder.
Open Activity Monitor and select the entry "UFRII Backgrounder" and then Force Quit. Exit from Activity Monitor.
The Mac is now ready to install the new v2.24 of the UFR2 driver.
FYI - I have the MF4380dn and it is working fine with the v2,.24 driver on 10.6.7.

  • Turning off color managment in Canon Pro-10 printer driver

    Hi,
I am using Lightroom 5 to print to a Canon Pro-10 printer. How do I disable the color management in the printer driver. I have selected the appropriate canon PRO-10 profile in Lightroom and it says to turn off color management in the printer driver dialogue box but I don't see where / what to do

    "my monitor has been calibrated"
I hear this all the time.  It is the main reason I don't like all the calibration gadgets out there.  You need to "calibrate" your monitor to what your printer is printing.  Not some spec some gadget thinks it should be.
You need to know what the bias of the printer is.  In this case Canon has put a reddish bias in it's printers to simulate a warm look.  This condition will not be accounted for in calibration software or monkeys.
Get your brightness, contrast and grey-scale right and the rest will take care of itself.  You can do the necessary corrections in LR to make up for, or leave as is, the warm tone from the printer.
BTW, you should be working in AdobeRGB or higher.  Factoid, you can not get every color to match.  This is not possibile.  You are dealing with two completely different mediums.  Light and dyes.  Adjusting any color effects other colors as well.

  • Is there a Canon i960 photo printer driver for mac os x 10.7?

trying to download the i960 driver for my iMac which is on os X 10.7 on canon.com. The download page only provide driver up to OS X 10.6. Anyone tried to make i960 printer work with OS X 10.7?

According to this Apple article about supported printer drivers available from Apple Software Update, your i960 is listed. So if you connect the printer to the Mac via USB cable and the Mac is connected to the Internet, the driver should be downloaded and installed automatically.

The Hardware Test detected a RAM problem.  Take out the chips and make certain that the connections are clean and reinstall them.  Make certain that they are well seated.
If the problem occurs again, test with one chip at a time.  Also swap bays if necessary.
Please indicate if you have installed new RAM and if so what brand and the specifications.

  • HT4507 How do I connect my Canon ImageClass 4000 BW printer on Lion?

    Hello every one,
I have a Canon ImageClass 4000 printer which was working fine with my OS 10.6, but since I installed Lion, I can not print. I would really appreciate if you could help me with this. Thanking you in advance.

Sorry for my confusing reply. I had never heard of the imageCLASS 4000 so that's why I thought it was an MF4000 series. Seems like it was only sold in the USA and quite a number of years ago.
So I checked the Canon USA web site and saw the hqx package you refer to containing the old Adobe PS driver for OS8. I also saw an old version of a PCL and PS driver for Windows.
So working on the assumption that the device does support Postscript you should be able to create a printer queue using the Generic PS driver included with Lion. If this doesn't print or simply prints rubbish then change the printer queue via Options & Supplies > Driver to use the Generic PCL Laser driver.

  • Using Canon MF 4320 printer installed on Windows computer

    Hi guys.
Is there any chance to use Canon MF 4320 printer installed on Windows computer? I am getting a Canon UFR II Printer Driver Error: -50.
    Thanks for your help

I found it useful to install the software form the CD provided with the printer rather than downloading the drivers.  The download options were confusing with different drivers for different functions and the scanner did not work from the System Preferences > Print & Scan menu until I installed the software from the CD.
You should then download the current Canon driver for your printer, if it is supported on Mac OS X.
If all else fails contact Canon.
    http://www.canon.co.uk/Support/Consumer_Products/Telephone_Numbers/telephone_num bers.aspx
You can also email them at
    Canon Care Center <[email protected]>
asking where to find the driver and if your printer is compatible with Mac OS X (and which versions of same).
I did not find an MF4320 listed on the Canon support site.
    http://usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer
or support for Mac OS X for any MF printer
    http://usa.canon.com/cusa/consumer/standard_display/mac-osx
So it may not be supported but it is worth an email to Canon to find out.

  • Need printer driver for Canon imageclass D320

Anyone direct me to a printer Driver for the Canon Imageless 320?
    Canon support says none available.
    Macbook pro under Yosemite.
    thanks

Canon never made an OS X version of its proprietary driver "CARPS" that is used by the D320. And the Canon driver link provided above is just for Canon inkjets - there is no support for your model.
If you want to print to the D320 from the Mac, you would need to install a virtual machine application like VMware's Fusion and then load Windows 7 into the VM.

  • How does one install Canon Imageclass mf 4800 scanner driver to imac?

I just purchased a Canon Imageclass 4890 wireless printer for my office. I successfully connected to my wireless network, and I can print from my imac rather new, purchased last year. But for the life of me I can not install the scanner driver, or it just won't take. I spoke with Apple support, but they really could not help me as the problem, apparently, is with the Canon software.
I also run Windows on my mac, and can both print and scan using this OS, although I can not print checks or reports, either in Windows or Mountain Lion.
I replaced my Canon 4680 (which worked fine in all aspects) with this printer because I wanted to free up some desk space and get rid of the USB cable, but this new printer has proved quite a problem so far.

I had the same problem so I called Canon support and they gave me the following instructions:
    1. Open the MF Toolbox
    2. They will give you the message that "Scanner is unavailable
    3. Click the "Scan" button on the device and select "Remote Scan"
    4. Click on the "MF ToolBox" next to the Apple on the top left corner of your screen and select "Network Scanner Setting" from the drop down menu
    5. Click on the + Button to add a scanner
    6. A screen should pop up with your network scanner on it.  Select the correct scanner you want to add and close the window.
    7. Then click on the "Scanner" tab in the MF Toolbox Mode and you should see your device have been added and start scanning.
These steps worked for me.  Hope it helps!  Cheers!

  • Canon ImageClass c2100 Color Laser Printer and OS 10.6

    Hi-
I have a Canon ImageClass c2100 Color Laser printer which, as I understand it, shares drivers and some parts with the HP Color LaserJet 8500. I have owned the printer for many years but it hasn't been used since we updated our systems to 10.6. We are on a wired Ethernet network with passive hubs and an Asante Firewall.
After firing up the ImageClass c2100 we do not seem to be able to print. I get the message "cannot connect to printer" or the print process just hangs up. I am looking for some step by step instructions for both the settings on the Canon printer and for the Mac print preferences. For example:
    When adding printer:
LPD or IPP? My HP 4050TN works with this at LPD so thats what I have been doing on the Canon
What IP address do I put in there? I see the IP on the printer is set to 192.168.123.169 so I have been using that.
For the driver software I select HP Color LaserJet 8500 as I believe that this worked before.
On the Canon ImageClass c2100 I have the settings as:
    TCP/IP - Ethernet - Set to YES
Enable Auto IP - Set to NO
    Ethernet IP - 192.168.123.169
    Subnet Mask - 255.255.255.0
    Gateway - 192.168.123.254
    Appletalk - Set to YES
If any of you out there are Mac and Canon experts I'd love a hand getting this combo running. Seems a shame to retire this old workhorse when she has lots of pages left in her.
    Cheers.

Did you confirm that the Mac and the C2100 can 'see' each other? On the Mac, you can open Network Utility and select the Ping tab. Here you can type the IP address of the C2100, set the number of Pings to 4 and then press the Ping button. If there is working path between the two devices then you should get 4 responses from the C2100 for each ping. If the results show something else then post those responses back here.
The other thing you can do is open Safari and type the IP address of the Mac as the URL. If there is a path between the two devices then this will connect to the internal web page of the C2100. If it doesn't show the internal web page then this also confirms that you have the Mac and the C2100 configured for different networks and this will cause the pausing issue.
If you do get a ping response, or can connect to the internal web page, then the pausing can be a result of the protocol you selected not being available on the C2100. As I mentioned before, for an LPD connection a queue name of print must be entered. But if the LPD/LPR setting is not enabled on the C2100 then this will cause the queue to pause. So you could try creating another queue to the C2100, but this time selecting HP Jetdirect-Socket for the protocol. While LPD can be disabled by default, RAW Port 9100 (which is known as HP Jetdirect-Socket on the Mac) is often on as this is the default protocol used by Windows - and it is important we don't upset Windows users ;-) With Jetdirect you will notice that no queue name is required, so all you need to enter is the IP address and then select Generic Postscript in the Print Using menu.
See how that goes for you....

  • Unable to load Canon MP160 printer driver

I've had the hardest time using my Canon MP160 printer on my iMac (Mac OS 10.5). In fact, I'm not able to print at all.
I have the printer connected via USB. It always has been. However, it only stopped working recently.
I downloaded the drivers for the printer and scanner from Canon's web site. However, when I attempt to load the printer driver, the "Installing Canon IJ Printer Driver" window appears. It gets to the "Finishing Installation" part in the process. But it "hangs" at some point and does not complete. I've tried it twice. It hung at two different points in the process. I tried letting it run overnight. That was no good.
I've also looked for the "Printer Setup Utility" and can't seem to find that anyplace. I'm wondering why I can't find that.
If anybody could help me solve this, I'd be so thankful.

Hello marconi10. Welcome to the HP Forums. I understand you are unable to install your printer on one computer, over a wireless connection. I'm going to suggest a very simple workaround, which if it works, will remove any complicated troubleshooting that would be necessary:
Please try installing the printer with a USB connection. If this does not work, you know that there is an issue occurring with the computer.
If this does work, the printer will be successfully installed. At that point, you can change the connection type from USB to wireless. For more information on how to do this, please reference this HP document: Convert from a USB connected printer to wireless
If the printer will still not connect wireless, this will point out a computer issue. For additional information and troubleshooting, relating to the inability of installing the printer over a wireless network, please reference this HP document: 'Unable to Find Printer' Error Message Displays on the Computer During Wireless Network Installation
Please respond with the results of your troubleshooting. I'm only here to help!
