Canon iPF printers fixed for LR2.1 in Leopard.

The new 1.91 drivers on the Japanese site fixes the PSCS4 and LR2.1 double profiling problems with the iPF9000.
http://translate.google.com/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fcweb.canon.jp%2Fdrv-upd%2Fbj4b%2Fbj4b -driver.html&sl=ja&tl=en&hl=en&ie=UTF-8
With CM by LR the Color Matching selection in the driver setup are still grayed out but in Main/Color/Set/ No Correction in now the choice. No more double profiling in LR2.1 or PSCS4 when I printed a test. Plugin still works fine.
I can also select Fast Graphic Process but I still cannot select monochrome.
All I did was install the iPF81009100-Drv-MacX5-191. I did not add any printers. Just installing this driver fixed this problem.
I suspect for those with the iPF5000 installing the 1.90 driver would fix this as well.

No the iPF9000 driver version 1.30 is still installed, but parts of the iPF9100 1.91 driver that were installed fixed the double profiling problem with the 9000 driver.

  • When will we get a fix for the Snow Leopard Compatibility issue??

When will we get a fix for the Snow Leopard Compatibility issue?
I am growing impatient not being able to use cross dissolve or titles.
Its going to be a pain having to back out to OS 10.5. This is beginning to be like Windows Vista.

You don't say what "..Snow Leopard Compatibility issue.." you're having.
My titles and Dissolves - and everything else - work perfectly with iMovie HD 6 and with iMovie '09 in Snow Leopard.
Perhaps you need to revert to QuickTime 7 ..just in case you over-wrote QT 7 with Snow Leopard's own QuickTime X when you upgraded to SL.
QT7 and QT X both sit happily alongside each other in Snow Leopard ..you might want to give that a try.
But I have no problem with any aspect of iMHD6 nor iM09 (..and no trouble with "stills"..) using Snow Leopard on a "late '08" MacBook Pro.
I haven't yet installed SL (Family Pack) on my Mac Mini ..I'll let SL throw away my QT7 on that, and will see if that causes any problems with iMovie. If it does, I'll then download and re-install QT7 and see if that fixes any problems. But don't hold your breath ..I may report back tomorrow, but today I'm pretty busy! I'll do my best, though..

  • Canon iPF printers No Color Correction fix for LR4

Once again because of Canon's use of a special casing file to identify applications that when choosing application manages color printing, set No Color Correction instead of Color in the printer driver, Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4 needs to be added to the AppColorMatchingInfo.xml file.
This file includes all previous updates and Photoshop CS6
    http://www.dypinc.com/Canon/AppColorMatchingInfo.xml.zip
    The file goes here.
    /Library/Printers/Canon/GARO/Frameworks/GARO_CUPS.framework/Versions/A/Resources/AppColorM atchingInfo.xml
Make sure you save the original in case you want to go back to it.
    Doyle

Lightroom 3.2 final release has the internal name of Lightroom 3 so it is already listed in the AppColorMatchingInfo.xml. That is if you have installed the x300 drivers or have replaced the AppColorMatchingInfo.xml file with my version.

  • Another non-official fix for LR2's non-exporting keywords

Just as Zak Beck's fix, this is NOT an official fix!<br /><br />I'm sure Adobe's fix will be out soon, but for those who don't want to wait and are a bit adventurous, here's my fix :)<br /><br />You will need a copy of your old LR1 catalog and your new LR2 catalog. This utility will read each keyword from the old catalog and apply the same setting to Include On Export, Include Parents and Include Synonyms in the new catalog.<br /><br />FAIR WARNING!!! This is not tested rigorously!!! I did this for my own catalogs, and it works on them. It passes LR's integrity check, opens fine in LR2 and I have checked around 30 (of 9000) keywords and they all seem to be correct now. However, PLEASE MAKE A BACKUP of your LR2 catalog prior to running this. You never know... Needless to say, this comes with no warranty whatsoever, use at your own risk!<br /><br />For the diligent, the source code is included, so feel free to make sure it does what I say it does :)<br /><br />If your still interested, here's what you need to do:<br /><br />1) If not already installed, install Java 1.6 or later.<br /><br />2) Download LRKeywordFix.zip from here: http://www.box.net/shared/tyylegbccg<br /><br />3) Unzip LRKeywordFix.zip<br /><br />4a) If you are on a Mac, move the file macosx/libsqlitejdbc.jnilib one directory up<br /><br />4b) If you are on Windows, move the file win\sqlitejdbc.dll one directory up <br /><br />5) run the command "java -jar LRKeywordFix.jar <path to LR1 catalog> <path to LR2 catalog>"<br /><br />For example: "java -jar LRKeywordFix.jar c:\backups\LR1Cats\mylr1cat.lrcat c:\LR2Cats\mylr2cat.lrcat"<br /><br />Let me know how it goes!<br /><br />Regards,<br />Kris

OK, so I've updated the tool now. This is what's different:
-Separate packages for Win32 and OSX
-Output is more informative now. Note the levels: INFO, WARNING and ERROR. INFO is just FYI, nothing went wrong. WARNING means something non-critical happened and the tool should continue to process. ERROR usually means a critical error happened and the tool will quit. Also, if a keyword from LR1 was not found in LR2, it will tell you so.
-I actually check that the LR2 keyword is the same by complete name, case sensitive. So, e.g., if LR1 keyword was 'Los Angeles^California^USA', the LR2 keyword must be exactly the same, not e.g. 'los angeles^california^usa' or 'Los Angeles^USA', etc. This may be a nuisance for some but I felt it was better to be strict here. If really needed, I can add an option to let the user choose how strict the tool will be.

  • My fix for a buggy Leopard

As recommended by others, I did an upgrade installation when I first installed Leopard on my iMac G5. In the weeks that followed, my system became progressively unstable. I had random problems with time zone files getting corrupted, numerous crashes of applications, Quicksilver would not run for more than 30 minutesr, and many other problems. One of the more recent was that I was no longer able to print. Printing (even to a PDF file) would cause the application (text edit, safari, mail, or any) to crash. That was the last straw.
I had thought about reverting to Tiger; I had a bootable SuperDuper backup and I knew it was stable. However, I really have come to like and depend on some of the new Leopard features and didn't want to take a step back. So I made a backup copy of my current Leopard installation onto another external drive using Carbon Copy Cloner and then reinstalled Leopard from scratch using the Erase and Install option on my internal disk.
I then gradually started migrating all my apps back from the CCC Leopard backup to my new install. I also searched for any related plist and and other prefs files in the various Library folders and copied them as well. Some apps, such as CS3, I had to reinstall from scratch because of their licenses, however, moving all the prefs allowed me to keep all the settings as I had before.
The whole process took me the better part of a day and it was, honestly, quite tedious. However, the first benefit was that it allowed me to do some serious house-cleaning of old apps I had downloaded to test and never used again as well as some Tiger-only apps that I really didn't need cluttering up my system. But the even-better benefit is that my system is back to being as nice and stable as it was with Tiger. In fact, I think my system is even more stable now. I am one happy camper as my system even feels faster (Safari feels "snappier" ).
For those of you who did an upgrade installation and are now frustrated by numerous system bugs and crashes and overall instability and are considering reverting back to Tiger, may I suggest that you give this approach a try first. I know it is time-consuming, but the reward is a nice stable system once again.

For top speed, what you really want is to put the LR3 catalogue and previews on an SSD, (Eg Vertex 2 50GB)
250GB is a tad small for a lot of users and the cost larger units is difficult to justify, especially when the performance issue shouldn't even exist.

  • FIX for Canon MP 600 after leopard installation

I discovered a fix for the Canon MP 600 after the leopard installation. After many challenges and troubleshooting with no positive results I tried something that worked!
Go to Applications on the HD, choose Utilities, Choose airport Utility.app. It will open and ask if you would like an update to the Airport Extreme Utility. Choose 'update' and follow instructions. I then went into the System Preferences, removed the MP 600 printer, downloaded the MP 600 driver from the Canon Website and installed it. I then rebooted the computer, went back to System Preferences, added in the MP 600 and all was working well.
    I hope this helps someone.

on the 'rinting' topics, someone suggested throwing away all the drivers and downloading from the websiet. And it worked.
thanks to all who thought about it

  • Possible Fix for Printing Problems in Leopard

I got this information from Mac OS X Leopard Edition book by David Pogue. Here's his possible fix for printing problems in Leopard...Open web browser and enter this address http://127.0.0.1:631. You'll find youself at a secret "front end" for CUPS (Common UNIX Printer System), the underlying printing technology for Mac OS X 10.5. This trick lets your Mac communicate with a huge array of older printers that dopn't yet have Mac OS X drivers. Using this administration screen, you can print a test page, stop your printer in its tracks, manage your networked printers and print jobs, and more–a very slick trick. Haven't tried it yet...anyone who does let me know how it worked!

If you literally "checked" them, meaning the checkboxes, that only affects their visibility. To remove them, select one and then click on the "minus" part of the "plus minus" at lower left.

Not without action by the original authors, sorry.
I know it doesn't help right now, but like all other OSs in the past, these types of things need to catch up since the bar has been raised once again...give it time and there will tons of entertaining s'savers out to pick from.

I've never even seen such a thing in SL. That said, it's pretty difficult to understand this so called "bug" without some sort of reference. Do you have a screen shot you could post?

  • Possible fix for Adobe PDF plug ins (Safari & Print) on Snow Leopard

I think I just discovered a "fix" for the Adobe PDF problem, as well as for some other miscelanious problems with Snow Leopard applications. I found the fix for the plug in from PDF on Adobe's website. http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/509/cpsid_50983.html
Following these directions (changing the option from 64-bit, to 32-bit when the application loads), seems to have cured the plug-in for PDF from Adobe and loads the plug in properly.
There is a link, http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/512/cpsid_51248.html for changing the settings similarly for Automator to fix the "save as PDF" in Print.
I've also applied this "suggested fix" to Mail and Address Book, to see if it remedies some of the continued glitching and crashes on my iMac, even after the latest update (10.6.1). No problems with my PBG4, as it's not Snow Leopard nor Intel.
    Hope this solution is useful.

I am having the same problem from CS4 Illustrator
