Canon ir2525 not supported by mavericks?

After I updated my Macbook Air to 10.9 Mavericks the driver for Canon ir2525 no longer works.  I get error message saying "Printer is not supported".
I know printer still works because a Mini running 10.6.8 still prints ok to the Canon, and both computers still print to  a HP LJ 1022.  I tried re-installing printer under preferences with no luck.
Fix soon?  Or do I need to restore backup?

  • Why is the Power Pc application Not supported on Maverick?

The MS product is not supported on Maverick Why?

Here is the summary I often post to answer your question:
Unfortunately you got caught up in the minor miracle of Rosetta.  Originally licensed by Apple when it migrated from the PowerPC CPU platform that it had used from the mid-1990's until the Intel CPU platform in 2006, Rosetta allowed Mac users to continue to use their library of PPC software transparently in emulation.
However, Apple's license to continue to use this technology expired with new releases of OS X commencing with Lion (and now Mountain Lion).  While educational efforts have been made over the last 6 7 years, the fact is that Rosetta was SO successful that many users were caught unaware UNTIL they upgraded to Lion or Mountain Lion and now the "free" Mavericks.

    Hi Shiba,
I understand that your printer is not printing picures as expected.  I know you stated that you had tried troubleshooting steps above.  Where you able to take a look at this document?  Are you printing from a mobile device or computer?
    Hope this helps.

  • Canon G9 not supported - Alternative

The topic of no RAW support for Canon G9 (CR2) that I posted yesterday was removed this afternoon. I did look into competitive products and they only recently posted upgrades to support Canon G9.
Lightroom v1.3 supporting G9 was launched approx. December 12. G9 Raw files worked with 1.2 but was not supported until 1.3. Upgrading to v1.3 messed up the RAW files processed under 1.2.
Bibble began support of G9 around December 17 This is not an option as for some reason Raw file for my older Olympus camera are no longer supported.
To be fair it appears most programs only began to support G9 within the last few weeks. I am leaning towards sticking with Aperture with the exceptions support for G9 should be in the next 4 weeks. In the mean time I can use the Canon Raw Processor that came with the camera and transfer files to Aperture.

Volker, do yourself a favor, stick with the Powerbook and Aperture. Apple's inexcusable delay in supporting the new format is no reason to cross over to the dark side. It is true Aperture does not yet support the G9, and I also find that very disappointing on the part of Apple. Many of the other apps do in fact support the G9-CR2 format.
I will briefly give you my experience. The G9 files are easily seen by Bridge CS3, and easily converted to .dng files by Adobe Camera Raw. But even those dng's are not seen by Aperture as they are based on the unsupported G9 RAW file type. The only easy way I have found to get them in Aperture is to use the Canon software "Raw Image Task" and save the files as tiffs. This was pretty speedy on my MacPro, and the files were promptly read by Aperture.

  • AFP Connection to Windows Server 2011 via MacServerIP 'not supported' by Mavericks?

Until recently my employer has been runnign 10.6 Snow Leopard on Mid 2010 iMacs, given that Mavericks is free, we're now looking at updating said iMacs.
The problem is we use an AFP server (MacServerIP by CyanSoft) as we've had huge issues with font resource forks getting corrupted when we used SMB.
At the moment, when I try and connect to an existing AFP share (even though AFP is still supposedly supported) I get the following error:
"the version of the server you are trying to connect to is not supported"
Gaaaahhh.. we really cannot afford to have our font database corrupted again, otf font's won't be affected, just type 1/postcript fonts etc that stores the actual font data in the resource fork..
Is this currently a Mavericks bug or is  this 'desired behaviour'?
    Thanks in advance all..

Looks like I've solved this myself so for the benefit of anyone else out there with a similar issue..
Ditch MacServerIP and install Group Logics ExtremeZ-IP instead...
As Gordon Ramsey would say (other than something that would be bleeped out)

I have an old Airport Express streaming iTunes to a Bose Wave Radio. I wanted to change the name, but it requires Airport Utility 5.6 and that isn't supported by Mavericks. How do I access my old airport express with a computer on OSX 9?

  • Canon mp620 not supported in Lion?

Am I missing something or just out of luck/at the mercy of Canon/Apple to release new drivers for a 4 year old printer?

Are you talking about the PIXMA MP620?  If so, then OSX 10.7 (Lion) is listed in the selection list.

  • Canon 5D not supported?

Just got the new Canon 5D and can't download RAW images. I get an "unsupported image format" error.
    Any ideas?

Canon is generally well supported by Aperture. New models (such as the 5D Mark II) are likely to be supported soon, older models (such as the 20D) have been supported for years. If you need to know about a specific model, the search function (right side of this page) is your best friend. You will not only get an idea about whether or not a model is supported, but often people also discuss workarounds for unsupported cameras.
Aperture has seen an upgrade to 2.0 earlier this year, you can't buy the 1.xx version anymore. Apple constantly updates Aperture (aside from adding new camera models which is taking place independently of Aperture updates and also benefits other parts of the OS). These regular updates (say from 2.1 to 2.2) have always been free.

  • Canon EOS not supported by Lion

I swithched to Lion and now my Canon Rebel camera will no longer do tethered capture.  When I plug in the camera, it recognizes the camera, but no photos transfer.  Any ideas of where to start?

I have a Canon EOS Rebel T1i and it works fine (that is when I connect via USB iPhoto opens and I can upload photos).  Are you sure the Canon application for tethered capture is not the problem?  There are EOS Utility updates this year at the Canon website.

  • Aperture not supported by Maverick upgrade

I've just installed Maverick upgrade on my iMac desktop and then went to work in Aperture (the program I use most on my computer!) and got a message that you cannot use Aperture with Maverick! What! Does anyone know how I can get Aperture to work?? If not does anyone know how I can go back to OS X Lion system?
    Thanks!

They only way to go back to an earlier OS is to install it from your backups.  So to re-install Lion you would need to have a backup of the system when it was running Lion.
As for Aperture and Mavericks, while later versions of Aperture will not run on earlier versions of the OS (Aperture 3.5 will not run on Lion for example) older versions of Aperture will run on latter versions of the OS, though not always well. So Aperture 2 will run on Mavericks but will have problems.
Not sure just what message you got, the  exact wording would be nice to have, a screen shot of the alert box would be best as well as the exact OS version And Aperture version installed on the machine.
Without that it is hard to say just want you need to do to get Aperture running.

Installed Maverick.  My cleasning program says my operating system is not supported.

    Hello,
The CCleaner Program form Priform does not support OSX Mavericks.
I personally feel that you do not need a 3RD party cleaning software on your apple computer, due to the fact that the computer performs these tasks automatically.

  • My Canon selphy CP800 is not support by OS X Lion.  Now what?

I recently upgraded to Lion.  I have a Canon Selphy CP800 photo printer, and I am unable to print photos.  Canon does not have a driver for this.  Canon Support worked with me to try and get around this stumbling block to no avail.  Does anyone out there have a solution?

    After downloading this driver
file:///Users/winfordb/Downloads/SELPHY%20CP%20series%20Printer%20driver_6.2.0.1 .pkg I tried installing it and got the message "cannot install this driver it is not compatible with your os" I called canon suport and received the following instructions. " Control click on the downloaded package and then follow the instructions. I have a macbook pro running mavericks. IT WORKED! Don't connect the usb cable to your printer and computer until after the driver has installed. If you have the printer working via wi fi then this installation may show as CP900-2

  • I am trying to download pictures from my canon rebel  eos to my Ipad but i get the message "this device is not supported" what can I do ?

I just bought an Apple Lighting to USB Camera Adapter. When I got home to and connected it to my Canon Rebel EOS Digital Camera. I received the error message "This device is not supported" I was wondering if there is any software or drivers I need to download?
    Thanks
    Don

I use Canon Cameras and have no problems downloading photos from the camera to the Lightning to USB Camera Adapter. My questions and suggestions might be basic but just to make sure:
    1. This is an iPad forum area. Are you using the lightning to USB camera adapter with an iPad? Your info in your original post says iPod. I'm not sure that the adapter works with an iPod.
    2. After you connect the adapter to your iPad and then use a USB cable to connect the adapter to the camera did you turn on the camera?
    3. If you did turn on the camera and still did not get the import of photos to start try a reset your iPad. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. This will not cause any data loss.

I am unable to reinstall Photoshop CS6 (I do have the serial number) on my Macbook Pro 10.9.5 (Mavericks os). and am getting the message "Installation on case-sensitive volumes is not supported.  Please choose a different volume for installation."  I am further told that "Adobe apps cannot be installed on case-sensitive drives, you need to Install the product onto an HFS+ or HFSJ non-case-sensitive drive."
What I don't understand is this:  I originally bought and installed Photoshop CS6 back in March 2013, and it worked fine.  Yesterday my hard drive had to be replaced and my computer person salvaged as much of what was on it as he could, but now I have to reinstall Photoshop.  1) Why did it work before and it's not working now?  2) Is there anything I can do that does not involve reformatting the hard drive?

It means what it says. The "computer person" formatted it wrongly/ unsuitably. it needs to be formatted again.
