Canon Laser Shot LBP 1120 Driver

Hi,
Can anyone help me with a solution to getting my Canon Laser printer LBP 1120 to work with my Mac.  I have trawled through the internet and although I know it is not Mac compatible, there are people out there who have got it working one way or another.  I have tried downloading various drivers (one in Japanese) and although it almost worked, it prints blank pages.  It loaded the drivers and recognisest he printer and when I send a document to print it feeds the paper though but it comes out blank.
Please help I have already spent days on this.
Thanks.

The LBP-1120 was released in 2002. It uses Canon's proprietary CAPT protocol which was originally written for Windows only. I've never seen a OS X version of CAPT driver that supports this model and the current CAPT v3.65 that supports 10.9 does not list the LBP-1120 as supported.

Hello shobhamarujolla!  This particular model was not sold in the US.  We would suggest contacting the Canon division it was purchased for further assistance.  Just visit our homepage at http://www.canon.com and then select the region your unit was purchased to locate their contact information.  They may be be able to point you in the right direction!

  • Reengineering / building a LBP 1120 driver to make it work on Snow Leopard?

    Hi Everyone,
Until recently I had been using my Canon LBP 1120 on Tiger 10.4.11 thanks to the driver which can be found on the japanese website of canon (http://cweb.canon.jp/drv-upd/lasershot/captusbmacx.html ).
Since I switched to Snow Leopard, I am no longer able to find a working driver to be run on my new OS X for my LBP 1120. And I guess I am not the only one.
    My question is simple :
Would you think it is possible to reengineer / build a driver either from :
    - one of the following Mac OS X drivers designed for various LBP printers on the Canon site (http://cweb.canon.jp/drv-upd/lasershot/drv-macx.html)
    or
    - from a CAPT Printer Driver for Linux Ver 2.00 (http://cweb.canon.jp/drv-upd/lasershot/linux/captlinux.html)
For your information, here is the link to LBP drivers for any kind of operating system (http://cweb.canon.jp/drv-upd/lasershot/)
    Thanks a lot in advance
    Stan

thanks for your encouraging words direwolf8, I'm sure it's possible and I'm gonna do it !
After some research it appears that Macintosh supports CUPS, so I'm going to look into that direction : http://www.cups.org/
When there's a will, there is a way.

  • Printer driver for canon LBP-1120

    Hi guys,
I'm searching for a printer driver for the Canon Lasershot LBP-1120. I've been looking around a bit on google but haven't found anything very helpful.
    Thanks.

I don't know how, and if you have to ask, you probably don't, either. Sorry.
If you still have the PC that you can use as print server, try this:

  • HT3669 Canon laser printer LBP7750C and a Mac Book Air with OS X 1.8.4??

Hi! I have a Canon laser printer LBP7750C and a Mac Book Air with OS X 1.8.4, but I can't get it to function. After installning the printer, via Ethernet network (Apple Time Capsule) and IP-number, it seems to connects ok but can't print. Anyone has a solution or tip? Thanks!

One possible cause for your symptom is the printer driver you are using. If you have installed the Postscript (PS) driver but your LPB7750 does not have the PS kit installed, then this can stop a document from printing. So I would suggest you download and install the UFR2 v10.10 driver.
If you are using the UFR2 driver then the other cause for this symptom is the IP protocol. This driver and the PS driver must be configured using the LPD protocol. If you have selected IPP or HP Jetdirect when creating the print queue, then this will stop you from printing. So remove the printer from Print & Scan and add it again, this time selecting LPD for the protocol.
Another cause can be you have the wrong IP address. To check that the address is correct, type the IP address into a web browser. This will result in a connection to the internal web page of the printer if the IP address is correct.

  • HT4757 I have a canon power shot G6 that no longer works with my iMac??? Please help

Up until 2 months ago my Canon Power Shot G6 has always worked with my IMac.  However, my system no longer recognizes the camera upon connecting via usb. Why?
    What should I do?

Oh my God thank you so much. I spent the last week trying to figure this **** thing out and that's all it took. Sometimes the most simple explanation is all that's required but last looked at. Thank you for pointing out the obvious. I kinda wish Linksys would've pointed that out to me when I exchanged a total of 25 e-mails with them. Oh well. Thank you again. I am so grateful.

  • Trouble importing photos from Canon Power Shot SD1300

Until today, my family has had no difficulty importing photos into iPhoto from our Canon Power Shot SD1300 camera. But when I plugged in today to import the most recent few months of shots, the program would not accept the .jpg file format (or so the notice said). Similarly, Image Capture would not import the images.
I'm running iPhoto 8.1.2, Image Capture 6.0.1 on a MacBookPro6,2 with an Intel Core i5/2.4 GHz machine with OS X 10.6.8.
Why is this suddently not working? Did something happen with recent updates of software that screwed everything up? We've tried most of the sensible things from the camera end: deleting old photos so the memory card shouldn't be overloaded, recharging battery....
    What's next?
    TCC

Unfortunately, the iPhoto error message, which had something to do with "not recognizing the file type" or something (though they were listed as .jpg files) no longer shows up. Now iPhoto thinks there are no photos on the camera, though there are quite a few actually.
Image Capture recognizes that there are image files, but says, "Import Error. An error occurred while importing. 347 items were not imported." And then it begins with a list of the first files on the camera.

  • My airmac no longer finds cameras.  Will find iphone, but no longer photos either. My Canon Power Shots, old and new, are as good as rocks.

Recently my MacBook Air  does not list devices that are cameras.  It used to, but does not now.  I have recently a) used MacKeeper, b) deleted movies, photos (thousands of those spawning ones) for space, c) installed ios 7 on my iphone, d) bought a Canon Power Shot SX 170is.
Image Capture, Image Browser EX, iphoto--nothing gets photos...nothing sees photos residing on my Canon PowerShots (old and new) or my iphone.  Macbook Air can not find cameras.
Help.  All cameras are rocks now.

MacKeeper is considered Malwear and has destroyed many iPhoto libraries - read the user tip on it - https://discussions.apple.com/community/ilife/iphoto?view=documents - my best guess is that your problem was caused by MacKeeper - I suggest you remove it according to the instructions in that user tip
to  test depress the option key and launch iphoto - create a new library and see if it works correctly with your cameras - post back with the results

  • Which is better. . . a Canon Sure Shot or a Canon Power Shot?

I need to purchase a camera good enough to get good close-ups for items to sell on eBay.  Which is better...a Canon Sure Shot or a Canon Power Shot?

    Hi, leigh8389, thanks for posting!
If you're looking for a currently-produced digital camera, we would suggest purchasing a PowerShot camera.  You'll find that our PowerShots offer the very best in macro capability, color reproduction, portability, and convenience for digital editing and printing.
For your reference, our Sure Shot line of cameras operated exclusively on 35mm film rather than digital memory cards, and was produced from the mid 1990s-the mid 2000s.
Additionally, please feel free to check out our Canon Direct Sales store at shop.usa.canon.com, where you can explore Canon's latest Powershot models; we hope this helps!

Is there any one who could let me know how to read Raw images Canon power shot g16? I tried all I could and followed the suggestions given by ADOBE but noting works. I see the images with other program but I cannot work on them.

Check your version of Camera Raw installed: Help (Win)/Photoshop (Mac) > About Plug-in > Camera Raw.
If it is less than 8.2, it won't work with this camera.
If it is less than 8.6, you don't have all the updates installed.
