Canon MF 4412 printer problem fixed

I got a problem on MF4412, the canon 4412 is connected the newest airport extreme , it get configured. But I got same problem described about on my leopard, lion, even worst on iOS, it does not find the printer. But I got a Windows 7 starter NetBook ...haha it works, I can print it from Windows. what is the problem then,it works on Windows but not Apple's OS??????
So it works on windows,it is really fixed.    Anyone from Canon or Apple could help fixing the problem on Apple's OS?????? help

Canon has the MF ScanGear v1.30 for Mac OS X. With this software installed you can then set the MF Scan button online (showing USB Scanner or something similar) and then use either the MF Toolbox application (included with the driver) to scan or use Preview to scan your document.

Not printing text only on Canon--grahics print ok.  Not printer problem.  Prints ok on a Brother and another network Apple prints ok on Canon.  Believe a computer setting was inadvertently reset.  What setting and how do I reset?

Without your printer model numbers, readers can only give you vague general directions.
    System Preferences > Print&Fax > ...
... shows a list of all set-up printers.
If you are having serious problems, it makes sense to "Reset the Printing System" (which also removes all printer set-ups) and add back each printer. It only takes a few minutes.

  • Canon MX870 duplex printing problem

I usually have letterhead paper in my printer tray. And everything used to work fine: if I were printing single-sided or duplex, the printer always printed the first page properly, on the side with the letterhead.
But ever since I upgraded to Mavericks, it will print single-sided on one side, and page one of duplex printing on the other.
If I load the paper face up, duplex printing puts page one properly on the letterhead side.  But if keep the paper face up and print single-sided, it will print page one on the back of the page.
Anyone else experiencing this? Anyone have any dieas how I can fix this?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello Roger,
I just tested your symptom on a Canon MG6150 and it appears to be working fine for me.
I loaded a letterhead sheet face-up into the printers cassette. I then selected to print a single page from TextEdit. The text printed on the correct side.
I then created a second page in TextEdit document and selected to print. From the print dialog I enabled the duplex setting in the Duplex Print & Margin menu of the Canon driver. With the letterhead sheet loaded as face-up, page 2 printed on the blank reverse side first, and then paper was pulled back into the printer and page 1 was printed on the letterhead side.
So can you reply with what application you are having the issue with.
Can you also reply what driver version you are using. I am using v10.89.1.0 which was a recent update. You can check this by opening Printers & Scanners, selecting the MX870 and clicking on Options & Supplies. The General tab will show the version.

  • Canon ip5200r wireless printing problems with Airport Extreme

I have been been printing from my iBook G4 (OS 10.3.9) using my Canon ip5200r connected to my wireless network for a couple of months without any problems. Yesterday it stopped working. When I called Canon for support, they say the problem is that my Airport Extreme is assigning different IP addresses to my computer and printer despite both being on the same network. I am not sure if it is relevant but the only recent change in my system is that earlier this week, I had a new high-speed internet modem installed. Can anyone help with this?
    Thanks!

  • HP LaserJet - network printer problem FIXED

    Hi,
I'm aware this may not work for all, but I've sorted my own problems, which I suspect are common to many who still have a really solid HP (or other) network printer that was no longer available since Snow Leopard did away with Apple Talk.
The answer is to do a cold reset on your printer, give it a new IP address, find this IP by printing a configuration page and enter this IP when you go to set up a new printer. In my case, it automatically found the correct drivers. The drivers were never the issue with vanishing printers; it was all about the network IP address. A quick search online and you will find how to do the cold reset and config page. For my 2100TN, it was a case of holding down the cancel button when powering up the printer until the lights flashed for a new IP, and to print, press both buttons.
    Hope this helps.

    Problem solved.
I upgraded the printer's firmware which resolved the issue.
    Thanks anyway! :-)

  • HP 5150 printer problem fixed

I was having a strange issue with my HP printer 5150 and printing Entourage emails that were more than one page long. I contacted tech support at HP via email and was instructed to delete this preference and that preference, unplug the USB to the printer, a folder or two but was still having the same problem (the paper would feed a couple of inches, back out again- all in slow motion- feed again a little bit, back up, then finally feed the paper-not in a smooth motion- through slowly and print the last page. About 4" of the sheet would remain in the printer when it was done and then spit it all the way out.) so I replied and said all still wasn't right. So the tech support person said that to open an email- select Page Setup- Format for- select printer (mine was set to Any Printer....) and try again.... I did and it works just fine!! So the simplest answer was the one that worked. Maybe if someone else is having an issue with printing (particularly Entourage messages) will find this helpful. And I have to admit that HP tech support was pretty prompt. Judy

Just a helpful hint I wanted to pass along to someone else that may have the same issue.

  • Canon MF4370 network printing problem version 10.7.1

Here are some relevant setup and diagnostic details:
    * Mac OS X 10.7.1
    * Firewall is turned off
    * Canon UFR II v2.27 driver
    * Added printer via Bonjour
    * Able to print from desktop PC via Ethernet cable and from laptop PC via WiFi
    * UFRII print monitor gives error "Cannot monitor this printer with the current connection."
    * Unable to print from MacBook Air connected via Time Capsule WiFi. Print command returns 10322 error "Cannot communicate with the printer" and UFRII print monitor gives error "Printer not responding."
    What can I do?
This is the first time I am using a Mac, please be detailed (like speaking to a 6 year old) if you do have suggestions.
    Thanks in advance.

Hello and welcome to Apple Discussions.
First of all I would like to complement you on the work you have done so far. Under most situations I would have expected you to resolve your issue with all that you have done.
The clue for getting this to work is the UFR2 Printmonitor. Once it can communicate with the MF then the driver will function.
From your information I believe that the UFR2 Printmonitor could be still looking for the previous setup when the MF was connected via the AT&T router. When you manually delete the UFR2 driver including "UFR2.BG.plist" this does not work correctly when the service is still running. You will see the 'UFR II Backgrounder' service via Activity Monitor.
So I suggest that you open the UFRII Printmonitor and then click on the Printer menu. You may see the MF4370dn with a USB icon next to it from the previous USB connection. And it should also show the MF4370dn with a network icon next to it. What you want to do is update this network 'link' to the current network connection and that can be done by pressing 'Search for Printer'. Nothing will be visible on the display when this completes so leave it a couple of seconds and then open the UFRII Printmonitor > Printer menu again. If you now select the MF4370dn entry shown with a network icon this should now show a connection to the printer rather than a not responding error. If this does work then you can exit Printmonitor and try printing.
If it still fails to print then delete the MF printer queue and manually remove the UFR2 driver files again, this time adding the extra step of Force Quitting the UFRII Backgrounder service via Activity Monitor. Then restart the Mac and run the v2.20 UFR2 installer again and then add the printer via LPD.
See how that goes and reply if needed.

  • CS2 - Canon iP5200R, A5 printing problem

Hi, I have an A5 document I would like to print to A5 card. I cannot get it to print how it looks on the screen though, it always prints at the top right hand side of the sheet, with only the bottom and left hand side parts of the image being printed. Does anyone know why this is? Not sure which information you would need to help me but ask and I'll let you know.
It's for Wedding cards, so need to be done pretty quickly :/ Thanks in advance,

For the future, you should review this topic:
How To Get Help Quickly. It's right at the top of the main Photoshop/Mac page.
Please post pertinent info about your computer, OS, and in your case, most important, your printer. Offhand, it appears to be a printer setup or preferences setting (size or position).
It would be helpful to us if you could take screenshots of all of your page setup and print settings and link to them on your server, or use the free pixentral.com

  • NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED and NT_STATUS_NO_MEMORY print problem fix

Just like many on these forums, I tried the SAMBA "smb://" hints given on other thread, but had no real success. Just as many newbbies, I was very frustrated that I could not print from my Mini Mac to my windows XP computer that was serving as my printer host. So the I decided to "google" the NT_STATUS messeges, and when over all the results 1 by 1. This is what I found:
    http://forums.macrumors.com/archive/index.php/t-130238.html
Props to Zukutu at the macrumors forums. I think it makes sense, since what I knew of Max X OS, is that it is basiclly a UNIX machine, right?
Now my HP 1115 printer is working perfectly from my Mini Mac. I hope this helps others new to mac.

    Hey Guys
I do a lot of printing from Macs to PC printer shares. Here's the steps I use to create the printer connection
    - Create a printer on your PC and share it with an easy to remember share name e.g. Test
    - Open the Printer Setup Utility on your Mac (it is in
    Applications\Utilities)
    - Click the Add button on the toolbar
    - Hold down the alt/option button and click the More Printers button
    - In the top drop down, selected Advanced as the type and select Windows printer via SAMBA as the device
    - Give the device a name
    - Enter a string in the format as follows in the Device URI box -
    smb://DOMAIN\User:Password@Servername/Printqueuename e.g. smb://Sepialine.net\mcahill:[email protected]/Test
    - Select the printer model from the bottom list

  • New Canon Pixma MG2220 printer - install problems on Windows XP

I bought a new Pixma MG2220 printer and received it 2 days ago. I followed the instructions and installed it from the provided CD on my 10 year old Compaq S4020WM desktop computer upgraded with 1GB RAM and 1TB hard drive running Windows XP SP3.
The CD installation took a very long time to complete (maybe an hour or so) and things did not work right. In particular the My Image Garden software was very slow and sluggish to respond. So I downloaded and installed the latest drivers and software from the Canon website on top of the existing installation, which did not help. The My Image Garden software began crashing completely with an error message about a bad .dll file. After talking to Canon tech support on the telephone, the support tech admitted that this software CD was probably not compatible with my old XP computer. The My Image Garden software uses like 500MB RAM which is too much resources for my machine. So the rep had me uninstall My Image Garden.
At that point I decided to uninstall everything and start over from scratch because something was obviously not right. For example, the Canon MP drivers were using 755 MB RAM, which seemed much too large. Obviously things had not installed properly from the setup CD, in general. The date on the setup CD was 2011, so apparently it was 2 years old, and long out of date!?
So I uninstalled everything except the Canon registration and onscreen user manual. I also kept Windows Adobe RGB 1998 because I didn't see any way to uninstall it. I also uninstalled .NET 4 which the setup CD had said was necessary, as well as Microsoft XPS EP which My Image Garden had also told me was needed. Then I cleaned up my computer as well as possible with help of Revouninstaller and Ccleaner, which was necessary because things were very messy with many uninstalled remnants and incorrect registry entries. I feel lucky to have survived those tasks without having to reinstall my op system. It wasn't easy.
Then I installed the following 2 modules (only) downloaded from the Canon website:
    MG2200 series MP Drivers Ver. 1.01 (Windows 8/8...         01/31/13     14.07 MB
    File Name: mp68-win-mg2200-1_01-ejs.exe
This file is a driver for Canon IJ multifunction printers. You can install the following items of the software: MP Drivers: The driver for Canon IJ multifunction printer. IJ Scan Utility: The software that allows you to easily scan photos, documents, etc.
    *My Printer Ver. 3.1.0 (Windows 8/8 x64/7/7 x64/...         01/07/13     5.12 MB
    File Name: mypr-win-3_1_0-ea11_2.exe
This file allows you to easily change the settings such as the paper source settings and provides you with information on how to solve problems such as ink smudging.
I believe that's everything required to access all of the print, copy, and scan operations of this MG2220 printer. Based on my current understanding, I would classify everything else as optional. I use free Irfanview for editing and manipulation of images, which seems a satisfactory substitute for the other software.
I did not reinstall .NET 4 or Microsoft XPS EP, because apparently they're only required if you install the My Image Garden and/or Quick Menu modules. I also did not reinstall the Easy-WebPrint EX module which apparently only applies to printing with the Internet Explorer browser, while I primarily use Firefox, Chrome, or Opera browsers. And of course I did not reinstall My Image Garden nor the Quick Menu, which were so problematical originally.
On the bright side, the Canon MP drivers appeared to install correctly this time, using only 35 MB RAM (vs 755 MB previously). Also the Canon IJ Scan utility was reinstalled automatically as a part of that driver installation process. Those items have their own shortcuts. I found it useful to make one additional shortcut via Start > Settings > Printers and Faxes > "Canon MG2220 series printer", to allow easy access to all of the internal printer settings and variables. Like I said, I believe this is all that's required, in addition to some image manipulation software such as Irfanview. I deal mostly with documents and never print photos nor use cameras. Those who have large photo collections and/or cameras may need something like My Image Garden or Easy-PhotoPrint EX.
I previously used Lexmark printers for the prior 10+ years, where everything is controlled by software from the computer. I never had to use the buttons on the printer. That's obviously different with this Canon printer, which will take some getting used to.
I'm disappointed that there's apparently no way to enlarge or reduce the % copy size with this model. Is there? I also don't find any setting for lighter/darker when making copies. Is there? There are apparently no other enhancements or filters available when copying. Are there? Similarly, scanning seems remarkably unversatile with this model and I can't find any way to set a scan for ligher/darker or apply various enhancements/filters. Are there?
The printing seems OK, but I must still decide whether the very limited copy and scan options will be sufficient to my needs. I'm not sure yet. I might take it back for a refund and get something better, if I knew what was better. That's another research project. Suggestions?
    Thanks for any feedback.

Thanks for your info but the MG5420 is more than twice the cost at my local Walmart and Staples stores.
I thought I was being smart to buy the MG2220 as a later model(?), but it looks like the prior model MG2120 has more copier and scanner features according to the online specs at the Canon website (see copies below).
For example the MG2120 allows 25%-400% reduction/enlargement when copying, while the MG2220 does not. Can you verify this?
Also does the MG2120 allow for setting copying to lighter/darker? (I don't understand that complicated technical lingo in the specs.)
    Thanks.

  • Adobe Photoshop CS6 and Canon printer problem!!

Use Photoshop CS6 to edit and print (try to print) to a new Canon Pixma Pro-100 printer.  Photoshop is up to date and the Mac runs OS 10.8.5 - Canon printer driver is current at ver. 11.7.1.
When I print from Photoshop to the Pro-100 (let's say a 4X6 landscape snapshot to 4X6 borderless paper) the printer starts up and moves the paper out about 4 inches and then prints the
first two inches of the image, stops and ejects the paper!.  I've tried different versions of printer the printer driver and made sure every things is up to date.  However, I can print from MS Word,
Nikon Capture NX2, or Canon's own Print Studio Pro and it works fine.  Canon is no help because if it works OK with their Print Studio Pro then it's not their issue - I tend to agree with them.
The same thing happens print from Photoshop to 5X7 or 8X10 paper - it gets ejected so far and then only prints part of the image.  I've searched the Internet and posted in Forums but can't find
where any one would have the same problem.  What I'm hoping for here is someone at from Adobe who's knows Photoshop tech stuff will post here with suggestion because there is no more
phone support for Photoshop CS6.  I'd like to really keep this printer and get Photoshop to work with it but if I can't I'm going to offer it up free to a good home!  JM Davis

Thanks for your answer, indeed this fixed the problem. Quite stupid I did not see this myself

  • 10.6.7 update and now Canon printer problems

I had the automatic 10.6.7 update two days ago and everything is fine except now I have printer issues with Canon MF8350. I can still scan, I can print from Safari, I can print from some .pdf but not others, I am unable to print anything from Word - they all come out as blank pages. Updates from Microsoft and Canon didn't help.
If you don't know, anyone at least know how I can uninstall the update? I know how to find the updates list, but not how to get it out.

I just want to let you all know that I fixed my printing problem.
I could not add my printer under the System Preference>Print & Fax after I did the reset. But I can add the printer back to my Mac Pro by connecting the USB cable to the tower. When I connected my USB cable back to the Apple Extreme. The printer was offline. I did so many different thing still not working. Then I go the the discussion forum on Airport Express and ... I also followed a lot of advises there. Then someone give out a link on Apple support. I following the advise half way still printer was offline. Then I went to my Mac Book and to reset the printer, and add printer again, and click share this printer. I went back to my Mac Pro, and try print a page, I choose nearby printer (there was never has this option for me before). It has another printer icon with Canon MX310 series-1. Bingo, it printed from my Mac Pro also. I have two printer icons on my Mac Pro, one is the same name as the Mac book. I was very happy. It was 4 in the morning. Well, finally I could sleep good.
I am still not sure exactly what the step to make my printer work again (Trial and Error). But I learn a lot by reading advises on this forum.

  • Photoshop CS5 Printing problems on Canon MP620 - why is Quality & Media crossed out?

    Hi
I used to print from Photoshop CS3 on my Macbook Pro 10.5.8 Intel to my Canon MP620 with no problem. Now with CS5 when I press Print Setting the options for Quality & Media (where you select paper type etc.) and the menu options below it are all crossed out and I can't access them.  When I contacted Canon they told me that they do not support 3rd Party Software.
Anyone else had this probelm and know how to fix it?
    Thanks for your help!

It's great that there is a help page for this, and I did previously look for it. Probably didn't use the right keywords. However, after following the instructions for synchronizing color settings (setting "Best Workflow CS5" in Bridge as recommended by Deke), I found the printouts to be exactly the same as before. BTW, it was set by default to North America General Purpose 2 for the suite. I'll have to look into this more tomorrow.
    Thank you,

  • Canon printer problem *since 4 months*

OS & printer updates come and go, but my printing problem persists:
Before my Mac even tries to communicate with my Canon printer, I get an unspecified error message: "Error during printing". Immediately, right after hitting the print button. No matter if the printer is online or offline. In the split of a second.
    Console log message:
Pages[565] Printing failed because PMSessionEndDocumentNoDialog() returned -30870.
PS: There is already a long list of these errors:
    http://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=PMSessionEndDocumentNoDialog()returned-30870.&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8
Thanks a lot for a helpful hint!

Did you try resetting the printing system as suggested?
I haven't experienced the same problem as you, but it did fix the one problem I had with printing.
System Preferences -> Print & fax. Hold the Ctrl-key when you click on the list of printers, and select 'Reset Printing System' from the options. You'll need to reset your printer options after doing this.

  • Borderless printing problems - Aperture 2.1/Canon Pro9000 II

Problem: photos don't print borderless. I have selected the appropriate paper from the "paper size" dialog (in my case, "4x6 borderless"). Things used to behave nicely but something has changed after Snow Leopard. The "calibrate" settings do not solve the problem. The border appears only on two edges of the print and the calibrate settings can't move it back. Other software (Preview, Photoshop, etc.) print borderless without issue. Anyone else out there having a similar issue?
    Aperture 2.1.4
    OS 10.6.1
Canon Pro9000 II, CUPS driver 10.26.0.0
Thanks in advance for any ideas!

I also have struggled with the borderless printing problem. Tried calibration has some unpredictable results. Tried preview, pretty much the same problem. Spent much time, ink and paper to come up with a solution I can live with. I accidentally printed a borderless 4x6 that actually had a 1/8 inch white border all the way around, not the borderless print i had intended but one that i can live with until there is a SL fix or a Aperture fix... I am just waiting. This is just one of many print problems since installing SL.
