Canon MG7100 not seen on network

Worked fine for months then non-specific problems with HH5 like drop outs which now intermittent. Pinter says connected to access point and correct SSID seen but can't be seen on laptop or any other connected device and not seen on home network device list. Sorry I'm not technical in the least!

This is also happening to me on some occasions.
When I try to see my portable on the finder window, and it does not show up, I have discovered that some times, if I click on my hard drive and then back on the Network icon, my portbale is finally shown.
I do not know why this is happening.
Sometimes, if I also restart the portable, it also helps in revealing it.
One question if I may: how are both your machines obtaining their IP addresses?
Best regards
Andrew

  • Apple USB Modem not seen in Network System Preference

I am trying to set up my father's Mac Mini to send and receive faxes using the Apple USB Modem. The base problem I am having is that the Mini does not even show the device. It is not in the Network System Preference, or even in the "About this Mac" system information. I don't know if the dongle is even working.
In the "Print and Fax" area of the System Preferences, I have no luck either. When I hit the add button ( + ) to add a device, the "fax" button at the top only shows the word "Bluetooth" and it is listed as a Fax. Any suggestions would be wonderful.

    Gee,
You've gotten no response for over two weeks, I see. So, maybe you're resolved your issue.
If not, I'll just say that I have an Apple USB modem on my 2009 Mini, though I connect to the Internet via WiFi most of the time, and the modem has been pretty effortless to use. It's recognized in Network Preferences, even when not in use.
Maybe your issue is electro-mechanical, i.e., is it wrongly plugged into the Ethernet port?
Or, is your USB modem plugged directly into your Mini, instead of a powered or un-powered USB hub?
Anyway, please let us all hear if you've resolved your issue and what it was.
    Peace to you,
    C. Livingstone

  • Laserjet Enterprise M602x not seen over network by Mac

We've rented an M602n printer for a very small office. Our network is fronted by an Airport Extreme 5th generation with the most recent firmware. A 5-port switch is connected to one of the LAN ports of the extreme. The 602 is connected to that switch.
Here is what I'm seeing: On a Windows 7 machine, I'm having no problems installing the networked 602. It sees the printer on the network and all goes smoothly.
On a Mac laptop running OS X 10.9.4, when I go into System Preferences -> Printers and Scanners and click on the "+", I do not see the 602. It doesn't matter whether I'm connected to the Extreme's WiFi or by Ethernet into the same 5-port switch as the 602.  It doesn't show up.  Note that I also have a Laserjet P1606dn plugged into the same switch and I see that just fine as a Bonjour printer, so it seems the issue is isolated to the 602.
I've brought up the embedded web server on the 602 and verified that AirPrint is on.  I am able to print if I install as an IP printer using the Jetdirect Socket protocol, but I'd rather not have to make others go that route.  Printing via USB cable also works.
I'm not at the office right now so I can't quote the current firmware level but can get it tomorrow.  I changed the "FutureSmart" from 2 to 3 but that didn't make any difference.
I'm guessing that there is some knob that needs to be tweaked but I haven't found it.
I have WireShark on my Mac and was thinking of checking to see if I'm getting any Bonjour packets from the 602.  Maybe tomorrow.
Thanks in advance for any leads!

  • Hp 5250 not seen on network..

suddenly my friends Hp 5250 isnt being seen on the wireless network.
I have uninstalled the software, reinstalled and searched using the software, no printer  appears.
What is the best course of action here?
    Thanks
    edit:
Tuuuurns out, Friend was wrong about printer...told me it was HP, its a Kodak...sorry to waste bandwidth.

    Hi @MRGCAVatgmail,
I understand that you aren't able to network the two computers. I can help you with this.
Power cycle the router and restart the computer, then restart the printer.
I have provided a document for setting up the printer on the network.
Installing the Printer Software on a Wireless or Wired (Ethernet) Network.
If the issue persists, please provide the first 3 sets of the printer's IP address.
Find out what the IPV4 address is for the computer.
The first 3 sets of numbers have to match for the printer to get connected to the same network.
Go to start, run, (might have to type run in search window) type cmd, type in ipconfig.
    Check the IP address.
Now check the IP address for the printer.
Do the first 3 sets of numbers match?
Download and run the Print and Scan Doctor. It will diagnose the issue and might automatically resolve it. Find and fix common printer problems using HP diagnostic tools for Windows?
Let me know how you make out.
    Have a nice day!
    Thank You.

I have a iMac, and serveral IOS devices (iPhone 5s nd more). I also have an Epson WP-4545 series. They are all in the wireless network via a Apple Airport extreme router. When I look at the airport configurationapp I see the epson:
But the priner app shows the priner inactive:
Also my IOS device doesn't see the airprinter anymore. This is since a few weeks now. I don't see any option to activate the printer also the printer shows that everything is ok. What is the problem?

this is weird. After the 4th reboot, the card suddenly was recognized!

  • MacPro not seen in XP's "my network places"

    Hi,
I have a small business network made of 6 macs (from G3 to MacPro, all with OSX 10.4.9) and 1 PC with XP Pro.
All the Macs have Windows sharing enabled with WORKGROUP name.
My problem is that I can see every Mac in PC's "my network places/workgroup" except one, the MacPro. It is not seen under WORKGROUP in other Macs but it is in "My network".
It can see all the WORKGROUP members, PC included.
I wonder if this can be due to its Intel processor (the only one in this network, excepted the PC) or if I missed something ?
    Any ideas ?
    Thank's for help.
    MacPro 2.66 Ghz   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

Don't have an IntelMac to try, but I think I'd try toggling the Firewall settings and Sharing Prefs on and off with a log out/in or two on that Mac... it can take up to 50 minutes for a Share to show up in XP also!
Second guess would be to trash...
    /Users/nnnn/Library/Preferences/com.apple.internetconnect.plist
    /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/preferences.plist
    /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.airport.preferences.plist (If AP is used)
    /Library/Preferences/com.apple.sharing.firewall.plist
Then reboot and set up the prefs again.

  • PC not seeing the network and not being seen on the network

I set up a WRT54G to use as my network router. I have two pc's hooked up to it via wire, as the software used for the company requires this. 1 is my server, and there are no problems. I can connect to the Internet fine. The number 2 pc can connect to the Internet fine, but it can not see the network. Number 1 pc can not see the number 2 pc on the network. HELP!!! The work groups are the same, and I followed all the instructions hooking up. My laptop even hooks up to the wireless Internet. What do any of you think? Thanks

Check firewalls, and any virus suite that you may be using. Make sure that under trusted IPs you have check trust my network. You should be able to find that under personal firewall tabs in the virus suite.

  • Colormunkie Photo printer profile (*.ICM and *.ICC ) are not seen by LR4.2 in the Print Job section

Colormunkie Photo printer profile (*.ICM and *.ICC ) are not seen by LR4.2 in the Print Job section
I used Colormunkie Photo to create an .ICM file for printer calibration.   When that failed I tried changing the suffix to .ICC.  Under neither circumstance did LR4.2 display the file in the menu to select printer profile.  There were several display files with both suffixes but no printer files at all.  I tried three times with no success and cannot think of what else to try. The first two were the same.  I varied the file creation name suffix in the third.  Help will be appreciated. My OS is Win 7 ultimate SP1  Printer is HP 2550L laserjet.

    Tillman
Glad you found your answer, Colormunki is smart enough to figure out the color space for the printer as I found out - But for quality work the latest generation of inkjet printers from Epson and Canon are hard to beat, and compared to a laserjet the quality is like night and day. The other benefit of changing up to an inkjet printer is the choice of papers available which you could not put through a laserjet.
I had a colleague that tried printing on Photoglossy paper through his color laser and it fried the fuser, and HP, while they replaced the fuser unit under warranty, made it very clear that that was a daft thing to do.
So if I were in your position I would go with an inkjet and you will then enjoy the benefits of better quality output, better paper choices and with your Colormunki be able to make custom profiles that will work in LR
    Cheers

  • Canon G9 not supported - Alternative

The topic of no RAW support for Canon G9 (CR2) that I posted yesterday was removed this afternoon. I did look into competitive products and they only recently posted upgrades to support Canon G9.
Lightroom v1.3 supporting G9 was launched approx. December 12. G9 Raw files worked with 1.2 but was not supported until 1.3. Upgrading to v1.3 messed up the RAW files processed under 1.2.
Bibble began support of G9 around December 17 This is not an option as for some reason Raw file for my older Olympus camera are no longer supported.
To be fair it appears most programs only began to support G9 within the last few weeks. I am leaning towards sticking with Aperture with the exceptions support for G9 should be in the next 4 weeks. In the mean time I can use the Canon Raw Processor that came with the camera and transfer files to Aperture.

Volker, do yourself a favor, stick with the Powerbook and Aperture. Apple's inexcusable delay in supporting the new format is no reason to cross over to the dark side. It is true Aperture does not yet support the G9, and I also find that very disappointing on the part of Apple. Many of the other apps do in fact support the G9-CR2 format.
I will briefly give you my experience. The G9 files are easily seen by Bridge CS3, and easily converted to .dng files by Adobe Camera Raw. But even those dng's are not seen by Aperture as they are based on the unsupported G9 RAW file type. The only easy way I have found to get them in Aperture is to use the Canon software "Raw Image Task" and save the files as tiffs. This was pretty speedy on my MacPro, and the files were promptly read by Aperture.

Basic network connectivity issue. One known common culprit for this
error is a workstation firewall, but the raw symptom just means that
    unexpected network connectivity problems occured.

  • Airport Express not seen by Setup Asst or Admin Utility as Air Tunes remote

I have Earthlink DSL running into an Airport Extreme Base Station and then into my iMac. I bought an Airport Express to play iTunes music over powered speakers in a different room. I plugged the speakers in and then plugged in the Express. The Amber light blinks and neither the Airport Setup Asst or the Admin Utility see it.
I have reset the Express about five times. I was worried about range, so I plugged it in an outlet five feet from the Airport Extreme Base Station. Still flashing amber and the iMac's Airport utilities could not see it.
Do I have a bad Aiport Express or are some of my Base Station settings wrong?
    Andy

Thanks so much for the tips, but unfortunately they leave me with more questions. Can you help?
if you are using wireless to connect to the
Express, you need to make sure that you have the
proper network name selected. It will not be the
name of your existing network because you haven't
set it up for that yet.
Where? The computer just does not see the Express wirelessly.
The easiest way to set up the Airport Express units
is to use an ethernet cable to plug a computer into
    them directly.
And then what do I do to get it set up to be seen when it is wireless?
If you are, for example, trying to set the Airport
Express up in a WDS and you were to get the password
for encryption wrong, forget to set it to the same
channel, forget to give it the same name, or any
other little minor mistakes, it might no longer be
available as a wireless connection unless you reset
    it.
In the config of the Airport Extreme Base Station, in the WDS tab, again, the Express is not seen. I can't make any mistakes because I can't do anything. It has NEVER been seen as a wireless connection.
I'm getting frustrated. Anyone want to buy a three week old Airport Extreme that has never been used but has a lot of pen marks on it from being reset about 20 times?
    Andy
