Canon MX860 has error code B200, have cleaned and removed printer head
    code still blinks.

Ref my MX860. So... I did NOT wash head or anything. I opened cover, shoved print head manually to left all the way. Rapidly pushed "on" button a bunch of times until unit beeped back at me with funny sounds and went completely dead... Well, before throwing out the second story window, I then rapidly, pushed "on" 5 or 6 times and noticed the print head moved to the right. I shut the deck and waited... and waited... the 'infamous' Canon 'I'm gonna print, no wait, wait, really, I am, in a minute, wait, wait, listen to my sweet sounds, wait, I'm fixin' to, wait". And then it happened! Everything got real quiet and my LCD screen popped up, looking totally normal. So far, it prints, copies and will send a fax. Try it, sure won't hurt, and it seems to have fixed mine :-)

  • Pixma mp990 b200 error code

I am getting the B200 Error message which states to unplug the printer and contact the service center.  My first call to the center resulted in the advice of needing a new printhead and it would be better to buy a new printer.  This one is only 25 months old!  I cleaned the printhead per instructions I found online, and replaced it, but so far I still get the error coude.  I can get a new printhead for around $70-$75 on ebay.  Would this solve the problem, or do I need to reset the CPU.  So far an internet search has not produced information on resetting the CPU.  I did send off an information request to the service center via their email form, but have not heard back in over 24 hours!  Any ideas?

I fixed this b200 error by searching this forum and following a few steps mentioned.
    1) Tried unplugging the printer for 10 minutes.... Powered on and same error.
***Note had to manually move printhead and cartriges over to the left to remove cartriges and printhead****
    2) Removed all ink cartriges and carefully put them in separate plastic bags (I didn't have the orange storage clips to seal the base)
    3) Watched youtube video on how to remove printhead for the MP990
    4) Watched youtube video on running low pressure warm water under the sink to clean printhead. I washed resevoir first until clear and no more ink visible, then turned upside down and washed underneath printhead until clear, then repeated washing top and bottom about 8-9 times until all ink was gone and ran clear. Took about 5 minutes and I was very patient.
    5) Carefully dried printhead with papertowels making sure all electrical contacts were completly dry.
    6) Reinstalled printhead and all cartriges
    7) Plugged printer back in and turned on and still got the B200 error
    8) The B200 error code reset fix: Powered the printer off and then back on and while powering back on push the Home Button and Power Button at the same time like 10-15 times repeatedly. Printer then cycles and starts up normally.
    9) I was having clogged jets and doing cleaning cycles periodically and was not able to clear the clogged jets. After washing the printhead I finally have a perfect running printer again. I had no idea you could wash the printhead. This would have saved me a lot of money in ink over the years. Now it's been 2 weeks and just ran another nozzle check and it's still perfect. Thank goodness I didn't want to buy another printer right now and probably would not purchase a new head for that price.
BTW. The only reason I can deal with this printer and it's crazy way of wasting so much in in cleaning cycles is that I have been using www.ldproducts.com ink for over 3 years on this printer and their quality and price is great. Also after every cleaning cycle you should always do a nozzle check and don't ever do more than 2 deep cleaning cycles in a row before printing. You could ruin your printhead if you cycle it too much. Now that I know about washing the printhead I will probably never do another deep cleaning again. It never works anyway.
    Hope this helps!

  • Canon MX870 B200 error, how to use scan only?

I have Canon MX870 which I only use it for scan. When I'm turning the printer on at the booting process it give me B200 error and STOP to work completely.I have to open and close cartridge door couple times at the startup to can skip the B200 error and be able to use the scanner.I know the problem is related to cartridge or printhead or something about printing. I only use this machine for scanning and i don't need to print at all. How I can disable or disconnect the printing component on this machine to be able to use just the scanner?
or at least disable the printer diagnostic at the start up?

Hi g6381646, We do not have instructions for disabling the printer diagnostic at startup or disconnecting the printing component of the printer; the printer will require servicing to resolve the error.  Please call or email us using one of the methods on the Contact Us page to obtain your servicing options.

  • Canon LiDE 110 error code: 5,202,52

i just got my brand new LiDE 110 scanner, and i installed the driver and everything was fine except for the error code 5,202,52 keeps showing up. i tried everything i could do, including reinstalling the driver over and over, however, it doesn't work.
my laptop is win7 64-bit home premium. im getting crazy, any one help?

    Hi jakehues,
The 5,155,75 error is a generic communications error and unforutnately does not pinpoint the cause.  Please make sure that the USB cable that you are using is 6 feet long or shorter.  Also, please make sure that the USB cable is connected directly from the CanoScan LiDE 110 to your computer and is not connected to a USB hub or some other device.  Please disconnect all other USB devices connected to the computer and then attempt to scan.  Are you able to scan?
If not, please try temporarily disabling security software and then attempt to scan, as firewalls and anit virus have been known to cause these type of errors as well.

  • Canon MG5250 showing error code:5,202,54

It was fine a day or two ago, still prints, but scanner is not functioning.
Does anyone know how I can fix it? or is it a hardware problem?
    many many thanks

This is a very common problem. I have a CanoScan 9000F and at least once every 5 attempt, I get error code 5,202,54. Sometimes the only way to fix it is to shutdown the PC and start again, sometimes I had to reinstall the driver: a lengthy process! I asked several time Canon to provide a fix but it looks like Help Desks are designed to prevent customers to submit requests to development team, so there was no way to have a patch. I wonder where is the value to have good hardware if the software to use it is so poor.

  • Error Code B200

dont know how i figured it out, but I did...start with the printer offsimiltanously pressed the ON button and the Home button...several times...I did it like 10 times...the printer starts to go a little haywire but then comes back to life!!!! Yeah!!!!!!

I got a B200 error as well. I had been scanning all morning, where the scanner was scanning fairly quickly. I was not printing on the unit, and I have not printed on the unit for weeks. After scanning to PC PDF disk file for about 100 pages (i.e., no printer involved), it then started scanning each page much more slowly. This seemed very odd so I decided to powercycle the unit (turn it OFF then ON) in hopes that it would reset its state and that scanning speed would resume to normal. When I powered it ON, I received the B200 error code. Once again, I was not even printing, and have not printed on the long in a long while. I have tried various suggestions online but had zero luck. B200 keeps appearing and the unit is completely inoperable. I noticed each printing cartridge was empty (by looking at the clear side part). I was surprised by this since I thought some were partially full… I’m not sure, but maybe the ink can evaporate over time if not used.  In any event, I replaced each cartridge with a new one, but the B200 error remained. I then removed the printing head, and placed it back into the unit, but the B200 error persisted. I was going to order a new printer head, but it’s like $50 without shipping (~$100 w/shipping from one vendor) which is a huge chunk of money I can apply to a new printer. Regardless, the error message is generic, so I'm not 100% sure what the real cause is, so buying a new printer head would be based on a guess on my part, possibly an incorrect costly guess.  While I had been very favorable about Canon’s MX860 based on my usage while the unit was working, this behavior in handling an error condition seems like it can be improved so that it is more accommodating to the consumer for the following two reasons… First, the B200 error is unclear, and does not surface any detail about the specific low-level reasons for the unit’s internal software taking the path of displaying the error and then making the unit completely inoperable thereafter. Imagine if your care displayed such an error code and disabled your vehicle because of an old filter. Perhaps this analogy is bad, but how I can know given the error code is ambiguous.  Second, the B200 error leads to the unit becoming completely inoperable, where it seems (I infer) that parts of the unit could still be left functioning. I'm forced to infer due to the first reason mentioned above, the generic error code offers me no info to understand whether making the unit completely inoperable is reasonable. I infer as I do here because there is much online info about B200 relating to the printing aspect of the unit going bad, not scanning to file, or faxing over the phone.  In the end I have a bricked MX860... completely inoperable.
