Canon MX 850 "Print job manager failed"

After recently upgrading to Snow Leopard (0S 10.6.8) my Canon MX 850 Wireless Printer has quit working.  After every attempt to print I get the message:
Error: System/Library/Printers/Libraries/PrintJobMgr/Contents/MacOS/PrintJobMgr failed
I really need to get this fixed.  Please help!

Pahu's response to "Canon MX860: Cannot Print from WiFi because of System/library Error" solved my problem completely.  So give him 10 points from me too!

  • What is causing my print jobs to fail?

Having trouble printing  documents (which range from 12-50 pages) from InDesign CC. Whole job fails to print. Started with new documents based on template created in CC. Trouble fonts have been removed from styles. I can print some individual pages. On the problem pages I have had luck printing them without the images, but other pages with no problems have similar images on them in terms of size, file type, color space, etc. Tried exporting to IDML, still had trouble printing.

    HI, JonJamesDufort
You might try to save a copy of the file to help troubleshoot the Indesign printing in case if you have to remove other images.
Have you tried to export to pdf or Print to pdf if you have Acrobat installed? If you can export to PDF from Indesign, then I would look to see if you have linked images that could be causing the problem. Does the print job just fail? Also what kind of printer are you trying to print to? You might have a corrupt image or graphic that could be causing the print job to fail. Do you have any older eps graphics that you are including in your file? Look to see what files are linked and try to embed the files. Did you run a preflight on the file? You should do that first to give you an idea of what could be causing it.
If you can export to PDF and then Print to your printer, then you have a work around to get your file printed.
If you find that this resolves your issue or was helpful, could you please take a moment to come back to this discussion and mark the post as helpful. Doing so greatly benefits your fellow users

  • The EDS Job manager failed to start

    Hi
I am installing the first Exchange 2013 Server in my Exchange 2007 environment
It has completed successfully but in the Application Event Log I see an error, twice:
    EventID: 1032
The EDS Job manager failed to start the following jobs:
    Job: 'TransportSyncHealthHubLog' is poisoned.
Anyone know a reason for this?
I can only think that it is related to Jetstress which was installed on the Server
However I removed the utility together with the folder, database and  log files prior to installing Exchange.
    Thanks

  • CUPS print job options fail when called from lp (UNIX command line)

Under Leopard this command-line print request fails to respect the specified job options:
    lp -o number-up=2 -o page-border=double <filename>
Though it worked great in Tiger, the number-up and page-border job options are now disregarded. I have tried lots of things (and wasted lots of paper) such as setting them permanently with lpoptions (and they do appear changed when the lpoptions command is repeated), using lpr instead of lp, reinstalling the printer via the CUPS localhost web interface, enabling non-Bonjour scanning with the hack to the CUPS preference file, deselecting "Last Printer Used" for the default printer in the System Preferences -- nope.
I have not tried other job options; I assume that whatever is breaking these two is breaking all the others, and even if it isn't, these two are what I want.
Is something new in Leopard overriding lpoptions job options? How do I make it stop? It is sooooo aggravating when something that used to work fine breaks. The printer is an HP LaserJet 4000N connected by Ethernet and discovered with AppleTalk.
    Thanks for any advice!

Thanks John, I did search but somehow missed that thread.
However it did not help. With or without the "-p printername" argument lpoptions does make a persistent change to its own data:
    +$ lpoptions+
    +media=Letter sides=one-sided finishings=3 copies=1 job-hold-until=no-hold job-priority=50 number-up=2 auth-info-required=none job-sheets=none,none printer-info=Barrow printer-is-accepting-jobs=1 printer-is-shared=0 printer-location='Local Zone' printer-make-and-model='HP LaserJet 4000 Series' printer-state=3 printer-state-change-time=1209495301 printer-state-reasons=none printer-type=2134228 page-border=double+
You can see that the printer "Barrow" has remembered "number-up=2" and "page-border=double". Regardless if I give any of these commands:
    +lpr <filename>+
    +lpr -P Barrow <filename>+
    +lp <filename>+
    +lp -d Barrow <filename>+
none of them show the results of these option settings (and somewhere in the forest another tree is cut down).

  • PSC 1350 all-in-one not completing print jobs wirelessly with windows 7 64 bit

I have a acer 5542 running windows 7 (64bit), connected wirelessly to an Orange Livebox hub, to which my HP PSC 1350 printer is connected (via USB cable) therefore using the Livebox as a USB printer server. This configuration has worked very well for my 2 XP laptops for the past year or two. I set up the printer on the windows 7 laptop by connecting it directly, via the USB cable, letting windows install it, and download the latest drivers, (although HP say they have no specific 64bit drivers for this printer, but the drivers they have, and that windows downloaded, work fine!) then i changed the port to the livebox ip address.
All this worked fine (as on the xp machines), I printed out a spreadsheet, which worked fine untill it approached the end of the page, then just stopped. I troubleshot the printer which didnt return any sprcifics, Just that the print job had failed, and that it had rectified the problem, then the printer starts reprinting the same document, to the same point, (about 95% complete) and again stalls, and so the cycle continues. I have tried it with various different documents and photos, to the same ends. But if i connect the laptop directly to the printer, via USB, it completes the jobs fine
I have posted on microsoft answers forums, but the one answer i have recieved (re installing everything) did not solve the problem. Although i am not too savvy on computers, i kind of get the feeling it is a spooling issue. (not processing or holding onto the last part of a print file! But its only a feeling!)
any help would be very much appreciated

    Hi there,
I understand you're looking for drivers for your PSC 1210 on Windows 7. I will certainly do my best to guide you in this issue.
At this time there are no HP drivers available for this printer for Windows 7. You can still use the printer with Windows 7, you will just have to use the drivers available within Windows 7. That document will walk you through what you need to do in order to get printing again, and will also show you how to scan with this Windows driver.
Hope this helps, have a great day!!

  • Why does Lookout fail (freeze) when a print job fails?

I've experienced this only a few times for several years now, but it is repeatable. Basically, if Lookout sends a print job (panel or alarm/every) to the default printer and the printer is not online for whatever reason, the Lookout.exe consumes 100% CPU according to task manager and when commanded to close or exit, a popup indicating "x number of print jobs in progress" displays repeatedly and I must "end program" and restart Lookout to continue operations. Shouldn't Lookout offer the option to abort the print job and resume service within a couple of mins or when commanded rather than stubbornly lock-up if a printout fails?
    John T. Sampson

I'm runnning the latest build of Lookout 5.1 on a Windows 2000 PC. I have experienced this on several other of the same systems as well. For example, I have a report panel configured to print automatically at 0700 and typically there's no problem, but if the default printer fails for some reason and is not able to complete the print job, Lookout's app consumes 100% CPU and will not shutdown when commanded - instead it reports a "print job in progress." It would ne nice if Lookout would let the print job timeout and resume normal operations. Instead, I must "end task" Lookout and restart it to resume.
Any other thoughts? Can we configure a timeout on the print job?
Thanks again for your comments, JTS

  • HP Laserjet utility starts and fails to go away after print job

I have an HP Laserjet 1300 hooked to an Airport base station. After the Leopard install (a default, Upgrade install from 10.4.10), I had to re-ADD that printer in the Print & FAX Preferences panel -- it wasn't simply remembered. That went fine, and printing works as expected.
EXCEPT: The HP Laserjet 1300 "utility" application (for managing the print queue) now activates with each print job -- not just when there is a problem such as "out of paper" as before. No problems are actually reported during or after the print job. And when the print job finishes, it doesn't go away. I have to manually Quit it.
I can't find any option to have the "utility" activate only when it has some problem to report (i.e., the way it worked under Tiger), or to make it go away automatically when all print jobs are finished. Any suggestions?
NOTE: When ADDing the printer in the Print & FAX utility, it did go looking for "new drivers", but didn't announce it found or installed anything new.

Thank you. That's what I was looking for:
Right click on the printer utility icon in the dock when you see it still sitting in there. Select "Auto Quit" from the pop up menu. Click on the utility to select it and open its queue window. Manually quit the utility.
After those steps it appears the utility now activates in the dock and then goes away after each print job that finishes normally.
    Solved!

  • KDE Printer Manager fails with "client-error-bad-request"

I'm having some trouble with printing on my system. The KDE printer manager shows "client-error-bad-request" and no other information. When I run the KCM from the command line, I also get "kcmshell(17286) KCupsRequest::serverError: status unrecognised:  1024" on the console. I wasn't able to find any useful information on this issue on google or these forums; not even what the 1024 status code means. It seems to me that this may be a bug in the kcm_printer_manager module, but I'd like to rule out other possibilities first. Unfortunately, I don't know what to try from here. I'll provide as much potentially relevant information as I can think of below.
Changes since last successful print job:
    Multiple updates to KDE packages
Update to cups that changed systemd unit file names.
    Stopped and disbled old units
    daemon-reload
    Enable and start new units
Other updates to cups since then, if I recall correctly.
    Packages and versions:
    kdeutils-print-manager 4.14.3-1 (owns kcm_printer_manager module for kcmshell4)
    kdebase-runtime 4.14.3-1 (owns kcmshell4 binary)
    cups 2.0.1-1
    libcups 2.0.1-1
    systemd 218-1
    linux 3.17.6-1
Let me know if any other information might be helpful.

    Anyone please help.

    Date and Time          02-22-2012 16:45:07
    Short text
A row with the same key already exists.
    What happened?
Error in the ABAP Application Program
The current ABAP program "CL_DSWP_SD_DIAGNOSE_CONSISTENTCP" had to be
    terminated because it has
come across a statement that unfortunately cannot be executed.
    What can you do?
Note down which actions and inputs caused the error.
To process the problem further, contact you SAP system
    administrator.
Using Transaction ST22 for ABAP Dump Analysis, you can look
at and manage termination messages, and you can also
keep them for a long time.
    Error analysis
An entry was to be entered into the table
    "\CLASS=CL_DSWP_SD_DIAGNOSE_CONSISTENT\METHOD=CHECK_USERS_BP\DATA=LT_USCP"
    (which should have
had a unique table key (UNIQUE KEY)).
However, there already existed a line with an identical key.
The insert-operation could have ocurred as a result of an INSERT- or
MOVE command, or in conjunction with a SELECT ... INTO.
The statement "INSERT INITIAL LINE ..." cannot be used to insert several
initial lines into a table with a unique key.
    How to correct the error
Probably the only way to eliminate the error is to correct the program.
If the error occures in a non-modified SAP program, you may be able to
find an interim solution in an SAP Note.
If you have access to SAP Notes, carry out a search with the following
    keywords:
    "ITAB_DUPLICATE_KEY" " "
    "CL_DSWP_SD_DIAGNOSE_CONSISTENTCP" or "CL_DSWP_SD_DIAGNOSE_CONSISTENTCM00M"
    "CHECK_USERS_BP"
If you cannot solve the problem yourself and want to send an error
notification to SAP, include the following information:
    1. The description of the current problem (short dump)
To save the description, choose "System->List->Save->Local File
    (Unconverted)".
    2. Corresponding system log
Display the system log by calling transaction SM21.
Restrict the time interval to 10 minutes before and five minutes
after the short dump. Then choose "System->List->Save->Local File
    (Unconverted)".
    3. If the problem occurs in a problem of your own or a modified SAP
program: The source code of the program
    In the editor, choose "Utilities->More
    Utilities->Upload/Download->Download".
    4. Details about the conditions under which the error occurred or which
actions and input led to the error.
KIndly Suggest to resolve the above issue

  • Print jobs come out as blank pages with Windows 7, Bonjour & Canon iP4700

    Hi there,
I have a Macbook Pro with OSX 10.6.1 and have a Canon iP4700 inkjet printer connected to this via USB and this works fine.
I've shared the printer from the Mac so that I can print to it from a Dell laptop on the same home network which is running Windows 7 RC.
I've installed the Canon print driver (I used the one for Vista as it was the closest match) on the Windows 7 laptop, then I installed Bonjour. I used the 'Add a printer' shortcut icon on the desktop and it saw the Canon printer and I added it.
I thought all was working well, except whenever I try and print to the printer form the Windows 7 laptop, it just prints a blank page instead of the text I have on the page.
Has anyone got any advice for getting this working properly?
    Thanks,
    Stephen

I had the same problem, however I am running XP. Also, I was using a separate program to manage my wireless connection on my PC called 'Wireless Configuration Utility'. I simply disabled this utility and used the Wireless Network Connection utility that came with Windows and the problem was solved.

  • Failed with Print Job Listener - SOS

    I'm using java 1.5.0.
I'm trying to monitor status of print jobs while user prints a report (in Applet viewer).
The print job listener contains 6 events:
    1) printDataTransferCompleted(PrintJobEvent e)
    2) printJobCanceled(PrintJobEvent e)
    3) printJobCompleted(PrintJobEvent e)
    4) printJobFailed(PrintJobEvent e)
    5) printJobNoMoreEvents(PrintJobEvent e)
    6) printJobRequiresAttention(PrintJobEvent e)
After data is transferred to printer, i can only catch the event printJobNoMoreEvents although the print job is completed or failed, or other else. And it's always like that.
In the Java Guide, they mentionned about the limitation of printing system. But i don't know where the problem comes from. Is it caused of limitation of Printing System or of Applet limitation?
If the message is not clear or you need take a look at my code, please feel free to ask me.
Can anyone comment of this issue and offer a solution or a workaround? Please help me. Thanks in advance.

My printer is shared by Domain Controller. I'm wondering the way of sharing printer whether is the problem..?

  • Turning off color managment in Canon Pro-10 printer driver

    Hi,
I am using Lightroom 5 to print to a Canon Pro-10 printer. How do I disable the color management in the printer driver. I have selected the appropriate canon PRO-10 profile in Lightroom and it says to turn off color management in the printer driver dialogue box but I don't see where / what to do

    "my monitor has been calibrated"
I hear this all the time.  It is the main reason I don't like all the calibration gadgets out there.  You need to "calibrate" your monitor to what your printer is printing.  Not some spec some gadget thinks it should be.
You need to know what the bias of the printer is.  In this case Canon has put a reddish bias in it's printers to simulate a warm look.  This condition will not be accounted for in calibration software or monkeys.
Get your brightness, contrast and grey-scale right and the rest will take care of itself.  You can do the necessary corrections in LR to make up for, or leave as is, the warm tone from the printer.
BTW, you should be working in AdobeRGB or higher.  Factoid, you can not get every color to match.  This is not possibile.  You are dealing with two completely different mediums.  Light and dyes.  Adjusting any color effects other colors as well.

  • Canon pixma pro 9000II printing - color management and resolution settings

    1) is the printer color management automatically turned off when I select the paper in the color management profile drop down? Or do I need to do something else as well?
    2) a little bit of a newbie question, but I'm wondering what resolution to select (for presentation prints) - auto or 300 dpi. And again in the print dialogue box (under "quality and media"), whether to use high or standard. Wondering what to match with what, etc.
    Thanks.

The answer to the first question appears to be yes. ColorSync is automatically enabled, and Canon Color Matching is automatically disabled.
Some tips on the second question would still be helpful, however. Again, I'm curious about matching Aperture "print resolution" settings (auto, 300, 72, or custom) to the print dialogue "print quality" settings (high, standard, etc.) under the "quality and media."
