Canon MX920 refuses to print any color images

What could be going on??? It WILL print a black and white image I send it. However I bought a color printer.  Yet am denied ability to print in color.
The color ink levels seem fine. It has printed color before. However now FULL stop. No longer allows me to print color.. just sits hangs makes lots of noise.
Ready to box up and return to store as yet another printer that doesn't do what it's supposed to do.. print.

My All-In-One 6500A Plus won't print any color from IE (v8.0).  I can print all colors from Word, PDF documents, photos, etc. - but not from ANY web page.  At first it only printed Magenta ink, now it acts as if it's printing (feeds the paper, moves the print heads across the page and sounds like it's printing) but the paper comes out blank every time.  If I change the print options to print grayscale and only use black ink, I can get a black only image of the web site.
As I said, ALL OTHER APPLICATIONS PRINT FINE.  ONLY WEB PAGES WON'T PRINT, so please don't tell me it's the ink cartridges.  ;-)

  • Canon Pro9000 Mark II prints dark color tones muddy on gloss paper

Boss accidentally bought gloss print paper, but I figured that might work out for our art renderings. However the ink bleeds... strangely, only on dark color tones. Image is below. It's a Canon Pro9000 Mark II.  It seems to be dark tones that bleed only. The light gray is perfect, and even a well-saturated yellow-orange looks decent. It doesn't appear to be the saturation or amount of ink that is the problem, but the darkness of the color. Is it the printer, the paper, or the ink? Is there a solution?

It really doesn't matter if you don't have the proper profile for the paper.  Do you?  If not you really can't use that paper at all.  You might try to see if another profile will work but that is mostly fool's play.  The correct profile is mandatory. Most good paper suppliers provide the correct ICC profiles for their paper.  Canon, Red River, Moab, Artic, etc.

  • DNG editor refuses to open any DNG image

I 'm trying to use DNG editor b1 win 072808 under Vista, with DNG images generated with Adobe DNG converter 4.5.0.175, from Canon and Olympus raw files. None are accepted by DNG editor : "DNG editor could not open the selected image". Sorry for this basic problem, but I can't go further to explorate the promising features of the Editor...
    Thanks in advance.

Yes, your hint works - I put a DNG image in C:\Windows\temp and the Profile editor opened it.
I do appreciate to have an answer from you in person on a Saturday morning...
Thanks a lot for this and all your brillant work.

  • I have a photosmart c309 premium fax series. my problem is that it wont print any color.

I have replaced the printhead with a new one. replaced all cartridges with new hp cartridges still no luck. this is really getting terrible since I have spent so much money on this. I have had it just over a year, and of course the warranty is done on it.

    citytocity,
You may want to try a hard reset if you haven't already.
Here are the steps below provided by bassergitz on this post.
Hard Reset – While printer is powered ON, pull
the power cord from the printer then from the
wall. After 30 seconds reconnect power to wall
and printer. This will trigger a ‘dirty power up’
and restore the printer to a known good
condition (if it is possible). No user settings are
    lost with a ‘hard reset’.
If I helped you at all it would be great if you clicked the blue kudos star!

  • Can't get a color logo to print in color

PostScript newbie here... I have two issues with a postscript image I'm trying to print.
I have a green logo .eps file that I print to an HP color laserjet printer via a Linux server, but the logo only prints in greyscale.  I have reviewed the image code, and tweaked the code to specify color (e.g. changed the "image" command to "colorimage"), to no avail.  Can anyone assist me in getting a color printout?  Here's the main part of the code (specific image bits removed):
    %!PS-Adobe-3.0 EPSF-3.0
    %%TemplateBox:0 0 188 78
    %%BoundingBox: 0 0 235 97
    %%PageOrigin:0 0
    /width 188 def
    /height 78 def
    /pixwidth 235 def
    /pixheight 97 def
    /picstr width string def
    /dopic {
    gsave
    width height 8
    [width 0 0 height neg 0 height]
    {currentfile picstr readhexstring pop}
    image
    grestore
    } def
    pixwidth pixheight scale
    dopic
    (image bits here)
    %%Trailer
    showpage
The second issue is that I can't get the image to embed in another page - that is, when I call the image to print in a C program, the printer spits out the logo on a separate page.  The goal here is to embed a color logo (the .eps file) into a certificate, where the rest of the certificate contents are generated by PCL commands.  I've been able to embed a PCL image (too much aliasing) and an HPGL image (plotter print dulls sharp corners), but the .eps file doesn't want to play on the same page as the certificate.  Any ideas?
    Any help is appreciated!
    - Bry

I found a resolution for the color issue.  As I mentioned before, I am trying to print an .eps image - out of frustration, I converted the image to .ps on the off chance that the printer would read the image differently.  Sure enough, the printer liked the .ps format and printed a color image.  Go figure.
Still can't get the logo to print in the body of the certificate, though.  I removed the showpage command from the end of the file and tried to reprint, but that just prevented the image from printing at all.  Some PostScript code investigation suggested that replacing showpage with the command show might do the trick - but no luck.
Still digging - I'll post the solution if and when I find it.  And as always, if you have other suggestions please post them.

  • Officejet 4620 Refuses to print black!

Have an Officejet 4620 printer hooked to a Windows 7 computer that absolutely refuses to print any black ink. I've run a dozen print head cleanings, updated firmware and software and installed all new HP ink and nothing has helped. The printer hasn't printed a single ream of paper yet and already it's as useful as a doorstop.
I've performed every HP support suggestion with ZERO changes. The colors print perfectly, but not one pinpoint of black ink hits the paper.
I've been a computer nerd since 1973 and I know what clogged heads and low ink situations look like and this isn't it.
Furthermore, I am the "computer 'go to' guy" at my senior center and people ask me for help with their issues all the time. I've seen this exact same scenario on two other people's HP inkjet printers. One lady unplugged the machine and gave it to me then went and bought a new one. One lady's printer miraculously started print perfectly after two days.
My point is that there's something wrong with these printers that causes them to stop printing with black ink. HP support has no solution other than checking the venting, using authentic HP products, running head cleaning, etc.
Judging by the number of posts regarding this NO BLACK INK issue, this is not an isolated issue, but HP doesn't seem willing to acknowledge that there's a problem. Like other posters on this forum, it's starting to feel like I've been scammed.
Why do other inkjet printers have removable print heads, but the OJ 4620 doesn't?

  • Why can't I get a pdf document to print in color?

I am going to school online and I need to print a pdf document that my instructor had me download from my online classroom.  I can get the pdf to print in grayscale but I can't get it to print in color.  It doesn't have anything to do with my printer, I have already worked with HP and they said it is not a problem on the printer side.  I have tried everything I can think of, but still can't get it to work - and other people can print it just fine on their computers, it has to be something wrong with my Adobe program or settings.  (And I don't know anything about any of that, so any very detailed help would be great!)

    Hi,
Are you able to print any color pdf document in color print rather than grayscale using Adobe Reader and  the same HP printer, or is the issue specific to a particualr document?
If latter is the case, could you please send the document to shilpi at adobe dot com?
Which HP printer are you using?
    Thanks,
    -Shilpi

  • Prints in color even when I check B&W only

Finally upgraded to Snow Leopard and now my Canon Pixma IP4300 only prints in color even when I check B&W only.

Someone else posted a similar symptom recently. They also had upgraded to 10.6 and were stating that their Canon printer was not printing in b&W. But the cause to their issue was that they were trying to use a B&W preset that they had created for the previous OS X. That preset was made for a different driver compared to the one they were now using on 10.6. When they actually changed the menu to Quality & Media and selected Grayscale the document did then print in b&w. So then all that was required was for them to delete the older preset and create a new b&w preset using the appropriate settings.
I wonder if you have a similar scenario because I am printing fine to multiple Canon inkjets in grayscale, so I don't believe it is something you need to report to Canon as has been suggested...

  • Photosmart 7525 will not print in color, except from the printer.

This printer refuses to print in color from my computer.  Since I bought it to print photos, this is distressing.  I followed all suggestions posted for this problem.  (I had tried them all before.)  It WILL print a copy in color from the printer itself.  That is the only way.  I use Adobe Photoshop and it won't print in color from there, Word, or the internet. Checked printer preferences; grayscale not on.  Printer full of ink.  Paper and quality OK.  Please instruct me on how to print color photos from a color printer!

Hey ,  Welcome to the HP Support Forum.  I understand you're unable to print in colour via PC with your HP Photosmart 7525 e-All-in-One Printer.  I'd like to work with you on this.  I have some suggestions that might restore this functionality for you.   From what you're reporting, with the printer printing in colour from standalone it sounds like the main issue is software related.  Accordingly, I recommend you try the following steps:  Clear Temp Files: Press Windows Key + RIn the Run dialogue box type %temp% and select OKIn the Temp folder select all items and delete them.  The Temp folder contains temporary internet files. No actual files or folders on your computer will be affected by deleting the Temp files. On Windows Vista, 7 and 8 if a Temp file is still be used  you can simply 'skip' the used item and everything else will delete successfully. Once the Temp files are deleted close the Temp folderRight click on the Recycling Bin on your desktop and select Empty Recycling BinNext, I recommend running Microsoft Fix it (it's designed for Windows 7 but I have found that it works with 8 and 8.1). Click here  to install.  I've had a lot of luck detecting and automatically solving common printer software setup issues with this utility.  If Fix it doesn't find a fix, or it prompts to uninstall the printer driver click here to reinstall your printer.  Please let me know the result of your troubleshooting by responding to this post.  If I have helped you resolve the issue and you liked this post, feel free to give me virtual props by clicking on the 'Thumbs Up' icon below and clicking to accept this solution. Thank you for posting in the HP Support Forum.  Have a great day!

  • Intel iMac refuses to print

Hello, last January I bought an iMac for my daughter-in-law. It worked fine. However a couple of weeks ago it printed... printed... stopped and refused to print any more. So she got a technician from an authorized Apple shop who took the computer away, seems to have reinstalled the system and got it to print again. The next day printing gave up again. The technician said he didn't know anything more.
Next she connected and installed a new hp-printer which her husband had got meanwhile and which prints fine on his iMac. Id does nothing on her iMac. She rang support and went through things with them for an hour and a half only to hear that they don't know anything more and she would have to reinstall the system from scratch. I wonder what for if it didn't work for the technician.
So what now? Why don't they offer to look into it via warranty? The machine is less than a year old. What is she to do to get them to do something. She needs the iMac for business and can't really afford this fuss. Do they simply expect you to buy a new one? No... I'm not happy with Apple here. I bought 7 Apple computers in the last couple of years and myde my son buy one as well. And no problems so far. But this time... it is like running against a concrete wall. VERY ennoying.
    What would you do???

Hmmm... I don't know the printers. One was an old one which printed fine for months (still prints from an old laptop) and the new one is an HP-printer that prints very well on the iMac from which it was borrowed cables and all. (I live appr. 700 km away so I don't always know all the details).
    Anyway, the computer is an:
    2.16GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    128MB VRAM
    1GB 667 DDR2 SDRAM - 2x512
    250GB Serial ATA Drive
    SuperDrive 8X (DVDR-DL/CD-RW)
    which still runs Tiger.
Different ports were tried and as far as I know the technician reinstalled the system but maybe returned all the old settings which reinvited the old fault unless it's a hardware thing.
I have fowarded the information above so it will be tried and if nothing changes I think she will try and wipe the disc with a completely new installation tonight, just in case. I told her to install the printer first to see what happens and only then install other things and set things up etc.
I'll be back here soon as I know what happened next.
    Thanks anyway,
    Yo

  • I am using Aperture 3 to edit RAW and JPEG photo images on my Macbook.  I am having color printing issues with my Canon MP640 Pixma color printer.  The image I see on my macbook is not reciprocated in printing from my printer?

My issue is that I am not getting print quality compared to the image I see on my screen.  Just recently it has been very wishie washie.  My printer is supposed to be excellent for producing color prints
I have contacted Canon support but they told me that the signals that are sent to the printer originate from an Apple product, therefore, it is an Apple mac problem not there's.  I am wondering if my on screen proofing and/or printing profiles are correctly set.  I notice that in 'print profiles' there are nine different options for printing from my particular printer.  How confusing is that?
I have also found that when I choose a high standard print option my photo print comes out very red.
Can some kind person please help me?  I don't seem to be getting any help from anyone else!  Thanks in anticipation.

You didn't mention any color calibration being done on your monitor.  This is an essential part of any color-correct workflow.  What are you using to calibrate your monitor (and your printer)?
Print profiles (for soft-proofing as well as printing) are for specific combinations of paper & printer.  The nine you have are each, most likely, for a common paper (perhaps mfr'd by Canon) to be used with your printer.
I don't know what you mean when you say "I choose a high standard print option".
Have you read the User Manual chapter on printing?
    Printing Your Images
There is also a good appendix on calibration:
