Canon photo software

Is there a version of PHOTOSTITCH and or ZOOMBROWSER for Mac [Snow Leopard]?

Check the software websites. System requirements should be listed.

  • Installing Canon photo software

I am tring to install Canon's photo software that came with the Canon SLR I bought. I can't load the software on my 10.3.9 OSX Mac. When I click the Canon EOS Digital Installer icon, it says it's preparing to install the ImageBrowser (I guess that's the first program in its list) and comes back and says Not Authorized to Write to this folder. So I can't load any of the software.
Canon support says I have to disable security (not the most helpful help). I didn't know I could do that. Any ideas?

You probably don't need to install any software from Canon to use your camera with your computer unless you want to. When you plug the camera into the Mac, does it see it? Likely it will offer you some options on what to use to access the photos on the camera.
My personal preference is to use Image Capture and not iPhoto since I don't like programs controlling my photos. Instead I use Image Capture to download the photos to my hard drive and I use my own folder system to sort them.
But anyway, back to your question. Is the account you are using on your Mac the administator account? Do you have multiple accounts on the computer? If not, try restarting the computer and hold down the SHIFT key until you see the SAFE BOOT screen. After it boots up try installing. Safe Mode simply loads the operating system and not any of the auto loading applications that might be starting up with your computer.

  • Is Snow Leopard compatible with Canon camera software?

Since I loaded Snow Leo some time ago, now the Canon Camera Window software gives me 'failed to initialize program', so that I can't download pics from the PowerShot A1000 IS. With Leopard, it worked the first time and fine. I have upgraded from the Canon site, done the TS suggested by Canon, to no avail. They say no drivers needed. Help! Thank you! Mark

Wow, you have no idea how helpful this answer is! After my upgrade to SnowJob, my Canon camera software wouldn't work. This in and of itself was not a problem, since I don't want any "help" with downloading, viewing, and organizing my photos. All I wanted to do was get them from the camera to the system, which is exactly what Image Capture does. Thanks!!!!

  • Easy-Photo software will not save file!

Help! I have been using Canon Easy-Photo software for several years now, but in the last few months it has developed a problem where it will no longer save my files. When I finish and print a DVD, then SAVE, it comes back with the error "Failed to Save the File."
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software several times, but this does not solve the problem. I just today installed it again (after uninstalling), this time from the disc that came with my new MG7120. Same problem! I went online and downloaded what should be the latest version (4.5) and installed that one - still won't save.
    Any ideas?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

OOOOOhhhhhh! The problem must have arisen around the time I updated to WIN 8.1 - not that the program has problems in 8.1, but because I finally got around to changing my normal user profile into a non-admin type profile. If I run the software as an administrator, I can save files.
Well, maybe the problem will happen to someone else and this will help them!

  • Can't launch Canon camera software or Image Capture

New Macbook Air. Used migration from a Powerbook G4 that had 10.5.2 installed on it. I now can't launch my Canon CameraWindow software - I get "No camera attached." I also can't get ImageCapture to work. IC will open and seem to download the photos to the desktop but they don't appear on the desktop. I can't find them anywhere. Both software apps work fine on the G4 and also on my regular MacBook. The ImageCapture sees the camera and even tells me how many photos are on it. System Profile sees the Canon attached to the USB.

Be sure your Canon software runs on Intel platforms. You were using a PPC before. Most, if not all PPC software is not Leopard compatible. You need all new apps for these things when you run an Intel-based system.

If you open the Organizer and go to Edit>Preferences>Camera or Card Reader, do you have Auto Launch Adobe Photo Downloader on Device Connect checked?
Try checking that if you don't.

  • Photo Software and Apps

    Photo Software and Apps
After you have uploaded your digital photos to your computer, you are almost ready to start editing. With many options for photo editing software, the possibilities are seemingly endless. There are many different tasks and operations you can perform, to varying levels and intensities, on your photos. The software can be used for professional work, creative expression, or simply practical purposes. There is software for the average consumer all the way up to industry professionals. With the introduction of smart phones with cameras and tablets with cameras, there are now apps to do similar things on those devices.
Often times, photo editing software is going to be used for that purpose exactly; editing. In the majority of the different programs available, you will be able to do much the same actions. You may have the ability to correct your image exposure by adding light to the photo or taking away light, and making it darker. There are many options for adjusting your color in the photo by tinting the image or changing the temperature to offer a cooler blue or maybe a warmer orange color. Some of the other functions you may find to adjust are things like contrast and saturation as well. These functions can be found in many mobile apps as well. However, not all software or apps are for editing photos. Some can be for organizational (storage and ease of access) or presentational purposes (slideshow creation).
The aforementioned are merely the tip of the iceberg to photo editing. Using apps that go deeper into the creative process and software geared toward the intermediate and above, you can create and add things to the photo rather than just alter what is already present in the image. The apps you are using through mobile devices won’t always provide you with a high-resolution final product. This is usually due to the limitations of some of the hardware from which they are being accessed. You can also purchase software to show you the basics of using your camera.
Some commonly used software and apps:
Photoshop, the most commonly used software. This software can pretty much do anything when it comes to editing digital images. Adobe also has a simpler version called Photoshop Elements that would meet the needs of most photographers.
Lightroom, this is organizational software. Simply put it is the best at what it does, and this is a must own software for any photographer. It helps organize your workflow as well as providing simple editing options.
    Aperture, Apple’s photo editing software.
Photoshop Express, the Photoshop app for your smartphone or tablet.
There are many other photo editing software and apps on the market. If downloading an app, see if there is a free version first to see if you like the app. Software companies also usually provide a free trial edition of their software.

Anywhere on a home page swipe down (not from the very top or you'll get the Notification Center) to launch Spotlight.

  • Just installed the latest Canon printer software update (V 3.2) from the App store. Canon Pixma MX850 will not print. Dialog says job stopped at the server - no pages found. Utilities, print test page works. Printing via Airport.

Just installed the latest Canon printer software update (V 3.2) suggested by the App store in effort to get printer working after OS update. Canon Pixma MX850 will not print. Dialog says job stopped at the server - no pages found. Utilities, print test page works. Attempting to print via Airport from a MacBook Pro. Also from a Mac Pro via ethernet. Both worked before updating to Yosemite. Canon Pro 9000 Mk 2 works via USB. Tried installing driver 10.84 from OS 10.9 as suggested by PAHU; no luck.

The "stopped at server - no pages found" message would suggest an image with the print file that is created by the printer driver on the MacBook Pro. But if the Mac Pro is getting the same message then that is unusual.
To rule out a couple of causes I would try connecting the MacBook Pro directly to the MX850 by USB cable. This action should result in a new printer for the USB connection being created automatically. If not then you may need to manually create it as you won't be able to use the existing printer that exists for the network connection. With the new printer created see if this will let you print without error.
If this USB connected printer also fails with the same message then try a reset of the printing system. Note that this action will also remove the Pro 9000 from Printers & Scanners so you will have to add it and the MX850 again.

  • Canon Printer Software 2.3 from Apple: now lists two printers

    ISSUE:
I recently ran Apple Software Update, and it installed *Canon Printer software update 2.3*. I now have 2 Canon iP4300 printers in my printer list (System Prefs/Print & Fax) and in all print dialogs.
Is it OK to delete one?
    These are listed:
    Canon iP4300 (original)
Canon iP4300-1 (newly added and now shown as the "default" printer)
*_2nd QUESTION: EVERYTHING THE SAME EXCEPT..._*
Everything prints as usual without problems (regardless of which printer I choose), and the options and features of both listed printers appear to be the same. But there is one minor difference I want to check. In System Preference/Print & Fax, I click the "Options & Supplies" button to give me more info about the selected printer.
Canon iP4300 (the original) shows this:
    Queue name: Canon_iP4300
    *URL: usb://Canon/iP4300?serial=A2BD20*
Canon iP4300-1 (the newly added printer) shows this:
    Queue name: CanoniP43001
    *URL: usb://Canon/iP4300?location=26200000*
Does anyone know what these URLs signify and why are they different?
    Thanks so much.
+P.S. I had installed all the latest drivers for my printer from the Canon web site BEFORE installing Canon update 2.3 from Apple.+

    L.A.B. wrote:
The previous driver version was 10.26.0.0, which I had downloaded from Canon. (The Canon Canada Downloads site does not show a 10.26.1 for this model; the most recent is 10.26.0 -- honest; I just double-checked it today.)
The 10.26.1 driver was included with the 10.6.3 (build 10D575). Canon Australia is also only showing 10.26.0 also so I'm not sure where the .1 update came from. The vendor supplies the files to Apple so it seems that Canon has not updated their driver links to show even the latest 10.30.3.0 driver they have supplied to Apple for this model, although they have done so for other models.
Anyway, let me remedy my omission by showing all that is listed for each printer's info (System Prefs > Print & Fax > Options & Supplies > "General Tab"):
*Canon iP4300 (the original) shows this:*
    Name: Canon iP4300
    Location: LAB's Computer
    Queue name: Canon_iP4300
    Driver version: 10.30.3.0
    URL: usb://Canon/iP4300?serial=A2BD20
*Canon iP4300-1 (the newly added printer) shows this:*
    Name: Canon iP4300-1
    Location: LAB's Computer
    Queue name: CanoniP43001
    Driver version: 10.30.3.0
    URL: usb://Canon/iP4300?location=26200000
Thanks for the extra information. I would say now that due to the different URL of iP4300-1, the Mac believes that it is connecting to two physically different printers, hence both printer queues being present. However I have never seen a USB connected device show its URL with "location=". I have always seen it as serial for USB connections. Do you have some other device connecting between the Mac and the iP4300, such as a USB hub?
Given that both queues work and are both using the latest driver, then I suggest it would be safe to delete the iP4300-1 print queue. Although there is every chance that it may return automatically after a restart of the Mac or printer.

  • Find a scanned pdf file saved through canon Pixma software

    Hi,
i've scanned and saved a pdf file via Canon Pixma software, to my mobile device (one of the options via Canon) and cannot find it.  I've checked the iBooks collections and it's not there.

  • Photo software compatible with iTunes

I have been trying to add an soundtrack using my iTunes library to a slideshow I created in Picassa. However, Picassa only plays audio from Windows Media Player and I have not been able to transfer songs from iTunes to WMP. Is there photo software that is compatible with iTunes or is there a way to copy iTunes songs over to the WMP library?

  • Photo software??

can someone tell me what photo software?? to use on my pc that i can upload the photos to ipod? i want a free program please. thanks!!
    pc   Windows XP   8gig hd

Why don't you just put the photos in a folder on your computer.
Then, connect the iPod to the computer and go to edit-->preferences. Hit the iPod tab, then the photos tab. Tell iTunes to sync from that folder.

  • Photo Software Question

I'm very new at this Mac computer system and would really appreciate if someone can educate me on photo software. I know how to use the edit part of Iphoto but I want to be able to create pictures with alot more editing options. Example; Say i have a picture of a baby and I want everything in that picture to be black and white except her hat being pink.. how can I do that. I know professional photographers have ways of doing everything but I want to do it myself. Is there one software that is better then the other? Should I download the ones on this site or go to the Apple store and ask them for software?
    Any suggestions would be great!
    Thanks

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. There is a demo of PSE 6 for Macintosh. With it you can do advanced edits like this and this.
If you do purchase PSE here are some tips on using it with iPhoto:
Using Photoshop (or Photoshop Elements) as Your Editor of Choice in iPhoto.
1 - select Photoshop as your editor of choice in iPhoto's General Preference Section's under the "Edit photo:" menu.
2 - double click on the thumbnail in iPhoto to open it in Photoshop. When you're finished editing click on the Save button. If you immediately get the JPEG Options window make your selection (Baseline standard seems to be the most compatible jpeg format) and click on the OK button. Your done.
3 - however, if you get the navigation window that indicates that PS wants to save it as a PS formatted file. You'll need to either select JPEG from the menu and save (top image) or click on the desktop in the Navigation window (bottom image) and save it to the desktop for importing as a new photo.
This method will let iPhoto know that the photo has been editied and will update the thumbnail file to reflect the edit..
NOTE: With Photoshop Elements 6 the Saving File preferences should be configured: "On First Save: Save Over Current File". Also I suggest the Maximize PSD File Compatabilty be set to Always.
If you want to use both iPhoto's editing mode and PS without having to go back and forth to the Preference pane, once you've selected PS as your editor of choice, reset the Preferences back to "Open in main window". That will let you either edit in iPhoto (double click on the thumbnail) or in PS (Control-click on the thumbnail and seledt "Edit in external editor" in the Contextual menu). This way you get the best of both worlds
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There's now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

  • The new Photos software and iWeb not working

Just downloaded the new Photos software.  Now photos do not appear on the iWeb photos tab to drag into web page.  Is there a way to remedy that?

It's not gone - just a version too old to run on 10.10.3.  However, read the following:

Go to the App Store and check out the Purchases List. If iPhoto is there then it will be v9.6.1
If it is there, then drag your existing iPhoto app (not the library, just the app) to the trash
Install the App from the App Store.
Sometimes iPhoto is not visible on the Purchases List. it may be hidden. See this article for details on how to unhide it.

One question often asked: Will I lose my Photos if I reinstall?
iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always.
The above should allow you to get iPhoto 9.6.1 which will run under 10.10.3.
