CANON PIXMA MX397 SUPPORT CODE 5B02

pls help me with my canon printer pixma mx397...at first, it said that ink waste pas was full so i just clicked the ok button on the machine. but when i tried  nozzle check or deep cleening, it said "Printer error has occurred. support code 5B02" how can i fix this problem?
thanks and God bless!

Ebony,  I'll spell out specifically what could be inferred from my post.  11 inch paper works, 10.3 inch paper fails.  I'm not sure at what point between those two lengths the failure begins.  Some experimentation with various lengths could more precisely determine that, but Canon should do that research themselves.  The point is that it makes no sense to me that this limitation exists.  The mechanism should continually feed whatever size, within reason, that is fed as long as it detects more pages.  Obviously as some point the doc will be too short to feed correctly, but a difference of seven tenths of an inch is reasonable to expect functionality to continue.  Having 42 years of software development behind me, I really feel this issue can be fixed programaticly, be it driver or application.

  • Is Canon PIXMA MG8220 supported by Easy-PhotoPrint Pro? Can several printer drives coexist?

According to the Canon site, Easy-PhotoPrint Pro supports PIXMA MG8220, but when the former is automated from Photoshop CC in MacBook Pro it does not find any supported driver. Canon helpers do not answer this question flatly. Would any one know the answer for good? Then, I would like to know where to find which printer drivers are running in that computer, the matter being that I have installed, most certainly unwisely, several.
    Thanks for any answer

Hello again Learner. I am not directly using your equipment, but will throw out ieas until someone with more knowledge provides some input.
I attached a few links that might help. In addition I attached a screen shot from Print Studio Pro. Yours should be similar. Are you saying that your printer doesn't show up in the EPPP dropdown?
Are you able to print directly from Photoshop?

Since Canon does not care about Linux, there are only two chances:
    1. Undigging something usable out of Canon's japanese FTP site (not too likely).
For the moment, nothing is in there:
    ftp://download.canon.jp/pub/driver/multipass/
    2. Warm up the 29.95 euros in your pocket and hope the next Turboprint version will support the printer part of it (that's more likely).
As for the scanner part, things look bleak...
The hardcore solution: Install Vmware player (free), ask a friend of yours with a full VMware licence to create for you a windows (any supported, or any you have a licence for...) virtual machine, and use that one to print/scan with the Canon drivers for windows... I know it sounds absolutely ugly, but blame Canon for that.

  • Error 88 or Support Code 88 in Canon Driver printing on art paper from Lightroom

Re: Error 88 (Support Code 88) of Canon Printer Driver, using Pixma Pro9500 - April 20, 2014
I'm replying to myself from two years ago, and to the rest of you, regarding Error 88.  (My question of April 2012 is in the Photoshop department of Adobe Community.  For those who don't know but are reading this anyway for some reason, Error 88 is a message from the Canon Printer Driver that tells you you haven't set the paper size correctly for printing on fine-art paper.  But it may appear anyway, even if your settings are correct.)
At the time I found no resolution to the problem, just a workaround: to print from Lightroom itself. Too bad this was after months of hassle and expense, including a probably fraudulent (and certainly useless) repair (supposedly replacing the Pixma's logic board and paper sensor), and the ministrations of a techie who could only conclude there was something wrong with my copy of Photoshop which provoked the Error 88. But he made me realise I could print from Lightroom, and that's what I've been doing ever since.  (The possibility had never occurred to me, as my routine of printing from Photoshop was working fine.)  This has been a good move after all, since Lightroom offers many advantages over PS where printing is concerned:  tonal controls and more in Develop, and the possibility of creating a Saved Print.
But to print from Lightroom, I had to crop my printing files to the image. (In PS I had always created a document the same size as the paper I planned to use – A4 or A3+ – and positioned the image where I wanted, with margins all around. But in Lightroom I set margins and position in Print Mode, starting with a borderless file.) This was a bit of work, but unavoidable, and a good thing on the whole. So for a couple of years I printed in this way.
But meanwhile, my 2009 iMac was developing other problems, and finally I had to replace it. (After only two or three years of use, it was shutting down spontaneously, a problem no one was able to resolve, about which every techie has a different opinion, and about which Apple is completely mute and unresponsive; thank you Apple Computer for your supposedly ultra-reliable products – I can only say it’s a good thing you don’t make pacemakers).
So for about ten weeks now I have a nice shiny new 2013 iMac, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed. Also I have the new OS Mavericks, new versions of Photoshop CS6 and Lightroom 5, the new Canon Driver. I have my complaints about the OS (particularly a few interface/viewing design choices that strike me as colossally stupid and unnecessary), but that's beside the point here.
Having not yet printed with the new setup (nor for a few months before), and knowing that it's good to use your Pixma now and then, I thought I'd dedicate a few hours to printing. I figured it could work out easy, since I planned to print from Saved Prints. But as soon as I hooked it all up, checked my settings, and clicked Print, I see the printer icon bouncing in the Dock with its little yellow trouble flag. I check that out and am very dismayed to see my old nemesis, Error 88, which tells me I haven't set the paper size correctly. But it's correct, of course. (As before, I'm printing on fine art paper, A3+.) Beg your pardon, Canon now calls it "Support Code 88", thinking of all the Support you'll get from them.
I tried a few of the obvious things: start/restart computer, printer, Lightroom, etc., but to no avail. Also, supposing that my Saved Prints were perhaps no longer valid in the new LR, I tried to print directly from the file, bypassing the Saved Print, but no go.
I should also note that, in Page Setup, the Default paper size “Super B/A3” (330x483mm) was new to me – seems to me you could set “A3+ Art Margins”. A3+ as I know it from the fine-art papers I use is 329x483mm anyway (also as given in Page Setup), if that makes any difference.
If it's any use, here are some particulars on the current situation:
    iMac 27”, late 2013, 3.4 GHz Intel Core i5, 8 GB, Mac OSX 10.9.2
    Lightroom 5.3 (Camera RAW 8.3)
    Photoshop CS6 (version 13.0 x64)
    Canon PrinterDriver_Pro9500 series_108420 (10.84.2.0)
And my settings:  LR Page Setup: set “Art A3+ (Margin 35)”System Prefs/Printers & Scanners – set Default paper size “Super B/A3” (330x483mm) (found via “Format For:” in Page Setup)LR Print Settings:
Printer: Canon Pro9500 series (exclamation point – not recognized?)
    Presets: Last Used Settings
    Color Matching: Canon
Paper Handling: All Pages – Automatic – NO “Scale to fit paper size” (but “Destination Paper Size, though grayed out, reads “Suggested Paper: Art A3+ (Margin 35”)
Quality & Media: Media Type: Fine Art “Photo Rag” (or “FA Museum Etching” or “FA Matte”); Paper Source: Front Tray; Print Quality: High; YES Grayscale Printing
    Color Options:
Color Mode: Standard; C-M-Y and Tone all left at zero
Brightness: Normal; Intensity and Contrast both left at zero
It all looks kosher to me.  Does anybody know anything about this problem? I'll be very grateful.

  • Support Code 2804 on Canon MX922

Support Code 2804 MDF failure to scan.  'doc size not suitable for duplex scanning'.  Win 7, Pixma MX922
Tech support tried valiantly to figure this out but could not, so I'll share my solution.  I suddenly kept getting Support Code 2804 failure on MDF after duplex scanning several hundred pages of docs to PFD files.  Three calls to TS yielded nothing but a guess that document paper had some kind of security to prevent scanning.  I've not heard of that, but it was a clue that I researched.
Here my answer to the 2804 failure, but it's not good.  Scanner feeds first page, and displayed the error saying doc size not suitable for duplex scanning.  All you can do is clear the error
Measure your document.  Printer docs say ADF will work with 4x6 and 8.5x11.  Read that literally.  My financial institution switched to a 8.5x10.3 page size.  When I got to those docs, the error began.  I have not yet experimented on the MINIMUM document length, but the 10.3 definitely fails.
This appears to me to be something that could be fixed.  Not sure if is hardware of software, but is a definite drawback to an otherwize good scan process.

I have a Canon PIXMA MX870. Turning it on I get a code: B200. Tried shutting down & restarting, same error msg.

We have the same problem.  I think it has something to do with the printhead.  We found reference to this problem and suggested fixes under the model MX850 on this forum.  One person suggested soaking the printhead.  Yikes.  We barely got much use out of our printer before this happened.  Very frustrating. Husband tempated to buy an Epson today.
Here is the solution offered on another message in this forum:

Same for me. I looked elsewhere and found other solutions. I soaked the print head in warm water until it ran clear. Dried the unit for 15 hours, unplugged everything. Reinserted the printhead, ink cartridges, power cord, USB connection. Started unit and it worked. How long, I have no idea, but it saved me some money

Upgrade to Yosemite 10.10.1 caused my Canon Pixma ip8500 printer to stop working. Canon no longer supporting this printer. Any solutions?

    Hi
    try this
    resolve my printer problem.
with Yosemite, Apple have upgraded CUPS to 2.0, and CUPS work different. So you need to change one think in configuration.
open terminal, and write the following commands:
sudo sh -c 'echo "Sandboxing Relaxed" >> /etc/cups/cups-files.conf'
you asked for the password for superuser
    sudo launchctl stop org.cups.cupsd
after this check in print queue if the printer is ready and not in pause mode.
The printer now should work, if the printer only print in B&W you need to change the configuration in CUPS web interface.
try http://localhost:631/ ; if you receive a error telling the web interface is disabled, type in terminal services the following
    cupsctl WebInterface=yes
    after this try again http://localhost:631/
after this choose in the web page "Adding Printers and Classes", bellow the CUPS for Administrators title.
in the new page, choose manage printers; after this choose your printer.
    in the page of printer choose from the second combobox the option "set default options";
in the option page, change the color mode from monochrome to color, and save hitting the button "set default option", you be asked for a user and password with admin privileges.
After this your print is ok.

  • Does OS 10 support the Canon Pixma mini260 printer?

Does OS 10.10.1 support the Canon Pixma mini260 printer?

The last driver that Canon released for this model was for OS X 10.7 and earlier. Here is a link to that driver. You may be able to install this driver on 10.10, although Gatekeeper will block its installation due to its digital signature. So you will have to right-click on the installer and select Open from the pop-up menu. You will then get the option to install the driver.

  • Can the Canon Pixma ix 6520 support manual duplex printing?

I know that this printer doesn't support duplex printing but I was wondering how would I double side print manually with the canon pixma ix6520?
    Thanks!

    Hello thekay94.
Manual duplex printing can be done by printing on one side at a time.
If you are printing from a Windows computer, please select the Duplex printing option in the Page Setup tab of the Printing Preferences menu.  If you are printing from a Mac, please use the options in the Layout menu to print the odd pages first, then load the stack back in the printer with the blank side facing you to print on the even numbered pages.

  • How do i fix error code 6A00 on the LCD screen of my Canon PIXMA MP810

how do i fix error code 6A00 on the LCD screen of my Canon PIXMA MP810

    Hello drews,
To try and resolve the 6A00 error, we will want to ensure that no paper jams or obstructions exist in the printer.  To do this, please follow the steps below:
    ASF / Paper Output Slot
    Turn off the printer.
    Remove paper from the ASF.
Gently pull the jammed paper out.
If paper is visible from the ASF, use both hands to pull the paper out slowly.
If paper is visible from the paper output slot, use both hands to pull the paper out slowly.
If the paper tears and a piece of that remains inside the printer, open the scanning unit (printer cover) and remove the paper from inside the printer.
Note : Be careful not to touch the components inside the printer.
Turn on the printer and confirm that the Alarm light is off.
(If the jammed paper remains in the printer, the paper may be automatically ejected.)
Load paper back into the ASF.
Press <OK> to clear the message and continue printing. If you are printing from an application software, follow the instructions displayed on your computer.
    Top
    Paper jams inside the printer
Turn off the printer and disconnect the power cord and USB cable.
Remove the jammed paper slowly using the following procedure.
Open the rear cover to check if the paper is jammed.
Pull out the cassette and check if the paper is jammed inside the cassette area.
Stand the printer with the rear side down, holding the document cover.
Press the tabs together and pull the green cover toward you.
Check if the paper is jammed.
(If you were not doing Duplex printing, you do not have to follow this procedure.)
Close the green cover and place the printer back to a normal position.
Reconnect the power cord and power on the printer. Confirm the Alarm light is off.
Load paper back into the ASF or cassette.
Press <OK> to clear the message and continue printing. If you are printing from an application software, follow the instructions displayed on your computer.
    Top
Clearing credit card-sized paper jammed inside the printer
Credit card-sized and 4" x 6" sized paper must be loaded properly. If this media is not loaded properly, it will feed into the printer and will not exit. Credit card-sized paper should only be loaded in the ASF and in portrait orientation. 4" x 6" sized paper can be loaded in the ASF or cassette. But must be loaded portrait orientation.
If credit card-sized paper was loaded in landscape orientation in the ASF and did not eject (exit), please follow this procedure.
    Turn off the printer.
Load the same paper type that is jammed inside the printer in portrait orientation.
    Power on the printer.
The paper stock in the ASF will automatically feed the jammed paper from the printer.
To resume printing, load the paper in portrait orientation.
If 4" x 6" sized paper was loaded in landscape orientation in the cassette and did not eject (exit), please follow this procedure.
    Turn off the printer.
    Open the rear cover.
Fold in four a piece of letter-sized plain paper.
Push in the folded paper until it hits the jammed paper.
If the jammed paper is visible from inside the printer area, pull it out and proceed to step 7.
If the jammed paper cannot be pulled out, push in the folder paper from the rear so the jammed paper is in between the feed rollers.
Pull out the folded paper and close the rear cover.
Power on the printer and confirm that the Alarm light is off.  The jammed paper should automatically eject.
To resume printing, load the paper in portrait orientation.
If you still experience the same error after performing the steps above, please turn off the printer, unplug the power cord from the back and leave it out for at least 10 minutes, then plug it back in and turn it back on.  If the error persists, unfortunately, the printer will require servicing to resolve the issue.  Please click on the Contact Us link below to obtain your servicing options.

  • Pixma MX922 - bad setup out of the box... support code 1008... no paper in bottom tray

Feeling a return coming on.  Just ordered this new off ama-zon. and 5 minutes into setup, getting repeat support code "no paper"
    - loaded the special paper. adjusted the paper guides.
    - bottom tray doesn't 'quite' close flush.
    - after opening, my 'special paper' is now crushed at the back right corner.
    Ideas?
Should i flip this thing over and look at what is 'blocking' it from closing?

Yes, I should flip it over and see an errant firewire cord stuck up in there... nice! Back to set up. (feeling my age)
