Canon Pixma Pro9000 XPS Driver

I get good colour reproduction from my Canonn Pixma Pro9000 printer with Photoshop managing colour.    However when using the XPS driver version (which should give finer gradation of colour), this is not the case.  I have been told by Canon that this is because the driver in Photoshop is the basic one, and that I should find the XPS driver on the Adobe site and download it.    However, I have been unable to find the driver.  Could you tell me how to locate it.  Thanks.  John Hallam

I've just started using the Canon Print Studio Pro module.  It does much the same as EPPPro, which I've used for the last couple of years, but is laid out similar to Lightroom with all the settings down the right hand side and, for my purposes, has one big advantage in that you can save all your settings.  I print albums for my work on A4 with a slightly unusual layout - prints are 270mm wide by 180mm high, centrered laterally but with different sized top and bottom margins and this is where Print Studio Pro scores - I can save not only the paper and print settings but also the layout too, a big time saving for me.  I have a Colormunki and make my own icc files and find I don't need any offsets at all, output is a really good match to the profiled screen. Greys are the only thing which the Pro9000 struggles to match well so, when this printer dies, I'll probably invest in the Pro 100 with its two grey tanks.  I'm hopeful, however, that that time is a long way off.  Apart from the greys the Pro9000 II is a great printer for my purposes.

Being new to working with a Mac, I was wondering if anyone can tell me step, by step on how to set up my Mac Book Pro(Mid 2012) wirelessly to a Canon Pixma Pro9000 Mark ll that my husband had gotten me? Sales person told him that it's compatiable to my Mac Book Pro, Mtn Lion, but I do not see it and I don't see how to do it wirelessly. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks ;o)

    Hello:
There is nothing wrong with asking questions.  There  are no dumb questions....answers, yes, but not questions.
If you set up your wi-fi router to establish a network, then both your printer and MacBook Pro will connect wirelessly.  *** I do not know what kind of router you possess, I don't want to suggest things that might not be relevant.

  • 10.5.8 to 10.4.11 with Canon PIXMA Pro9000 Mark II

I want to print from my 10.5.8 Digital Audio to a Canon PIXMA Pro9000 Mark II that I have attached via its USB2 card to my Yikes! G4 under 10.4.11. I am communicating with the Yikes! via a USB2 WAN wireless device, also plugged into the USB2 card.
I have the printer setup with drivers on both machines, and have the Yikes! 10.4.11 Printer Sharing turned on for the Canon. Also turned on Printer Sharing under my 10.5.8 Digital Audio.
On my DIgital Audio I have tried IP Printer setup, using the URL for the Yikes! and the computer's local host name. Everything seems to flow, except the job never starts on the printer. Just sits in the Canon's cue. I see the printer in the Printer lists.
    Any hints? Need more info?

Its a Westell versalink DSL modem and ethernet router. Has wireless capability, which I was using on the Yikes!, until it looked like I could not use my new Canon printer off the Yikes!, unless I used the hardwired ethernet.
Not sure why I cannot see the printer from the Digital Audio under 10.5.8 on the Yikes! under 10.4.11 when my connection is via my wireless Airlink USB2 adapter. Maybe Printer Sharing is turned off for the wireless because it hasn't been turned on for it also ... was for the hard wired setup ... thought it carried over for the other ... checking ...

  • Canon Pixma Pro9000 Version 2.23 Driver

Canon has released a new driver (2.23) for the Pixma Pro9000 to accommodate two new papers.
When I try and use the driver in LR the changes made for LR managed printing don't "stick". If I close and then reopen the driver the print quality reverts to the default and the color option changes from Custom-None back to Auto.
    Is anyone else experiencing this?
    Has anyone found a solution?
    Thanks.

It may be a little different with the 9000 as it is several models back by now.  But what I explained should be close.

  • Canon pixma ip 1600 driver

Need driver for Canon Pixma ip 1600 running on Windows Seven 64 bit

    Hello JayDee,
Canon does not provided a driver for the iP1600 that supports your current operating system. To install your printer on Windows 7 (x64), please follow the following steps below:
    1.  Click the Start button, Devices & Printers.
    2.  Click Add a printer.
    3.  In the Add Printer Wizard, select Add a local printer.
    4.  On the Choose a printer port page, make sure that the Use an existing port option button and the recommended printer port are selected, and then click Next.
    5.  On the Install the printer driver page, click Windows Update, and then wait while Windows downloads the available drivers.
    6.  Complete the additional steps in the wizard, and then click Finish.
The printer will be installed.  Then you can download and install the Add-On Module for your Pixma iP1600 from our website.

  • Canon Pixma Pro9000. A4 paper doesn't feed properly.

Canon Pixma Pro 9000.  A4 paper doesn't feed correctly.  It feeds in on the right but not on the left, so that it crumples as it feeds and jams.  A5 and 4x6 seem OK.

    Try cleaning the rollers.

  • Turning off Colour Management in Canon Pixma Pro9000 mk 2 ??

    Hi
In the Print area, Lightroom 4 says in italics at the bottom to turn off the colour management in the Print Dialog if you're chosing to print with a profile.
Can someone show me how to do this with my Canon Pro9000 mk2 via OSX Lion 10.7?
Being thick but can't work it out.
    Thanks
    Stuart

    Hi Rikk
Thanks for that. Are you 100% sure though. I'm getting really poor results when I use the Canon Photo Paper Plus Semi Gloss ICC profile (with the right paper!) compared to letting the printer do the colour management. The colours look like they've been worked over twice with a horrible reddy pinky effect on skin tones. It's the same colour problem I had with Windows until I figured out how to turn it off manually.
Also not sure why Adobe would have the message on the Mac version of Lightroom if it was going to turn it off automatically anyway.
    Any ideas?
    Cheers

  • My Canon Pixma Pro9000 Mark 2 printer and red cast to prints

My Canon Pro9000 Mark 2 prints with a severe red cast on all prints. It has worked great for 3 years prior on my Mac. Just updated and installed Mavericks (OS 10) and believe that to be the culprit. Already checked ink tanks, ran printer head tests, cleaned and deep cleaned, and so forth. Does any Mac user (or other) know of a fix for this?

It may be a little different with the 9000 as it is several models back by now.  But what I explained should be close.

  • My Canon Pixma MX420 scanner driver is not conpatible with Windows 8 64 bit.

I have tried all the drivers.  All I get is a window stating Cannot start MP Navigator EX.  Everything works except the scanner.  It just disappeared.  Are there any compatible drivers that actually work for my Windows 8 64bit?

    Hi rlhag,
This means that the scanner driver was not installed correctly.  What we should do is try to reinstall the drivers while in Selective Startup to see if this helps.  What this will do is disable all background programs and should allow the scanner to install correctly.  Please perform the following:
     1.  Press the ‘Windows + R’ key on the keyboard. In the Run Windows’s ‘Open box:' type ’msconfig’ (Without the quotation marks) and click ‘OK’.
     2.  Click on Selective Startup, then uncheck the two boxes.
     3.  Click Apply, then OK.
     4.  Confirm the reboot.
We can then perform the reinstall.  To do this, please follow these steps:
     1.  Put the PIXMA MX420's CDROM in the CDROM drive.  If the welcome screen appears, exit it.
     2.  Click on Start and then Run.  If Run is not in your Start menu, please follow these steps to add it:
           2-1.  Click Start.
2-2.  Right click the Start menu and left click on Properties.
2-3.  Click on the Customize button next to 'Start Menu'.
2-4.  In the Customize Start Menu window, place a checkmark next to 'Run Command'.
2-5.  Click OK in the Customize Start Menu window.
2-6.  Click OK in the Properties window.
     3.  Click Browse.  In the browse window, on the left hand side in the row of big icons, click on My Computer.
     4.  In the window to the right, double click the CANON_IJ CDROM.
     5.  Double click the folder named WIN.
     6.  Double click the folder named Driver.
     7.  Double click the folder named DrvSetup.
     8.  Double click the file named DELDRV64.  In the Run box click ok.  Follow the on-screen prompts to remove the driver.
Once complete, please follow these steps:
     1.  Click on Start and then Run.
     2.  In the window to the right, double click the CANON_IJ CDROM.
     3.  Double click the folder named WIN.
     4.  Double click the folder named Driver.
     5.  Double click the folder named LAN.
     6.  Double click the file named CNMNPU.exe.
     7.  In the Run box click ok.
     8.  Follow the prompts to uninstall.
     9.  Once complete, restart the computer.
To install the unit for use over your network wirelessly, please follow these steps when the computer restarts:
     1.  Press the <Setup> button.
     2.  Use the up or down button to select Yes for Wireless LAN activate and press <OK>.  Once enabled, the Wi-Fi lamp lights blue.
     3.  Select Easy setup and press <OK>.
     4.  Select your access point name and press <OK>.
     5.  Enter your WEP key and press <OK>.  Please verify the WEP, as it is case sensitive and if entered incorrectly, will cause the printer and router to not communicate.  To switch between letters and numbers, press the * key.
     6.  Press <OK> on the confirmation screen.  The PIXMA MX420 will search for the access point.
     7.  When found, press <OK> on the Connected to the access point screen.
     8.  Take out and then reinsert the CDROM that came with the PIXMA MX420.  The setup program will start automatically.
     9.  If the Autoplay screen appears, click Run and then Continue.
    10.  Click on Easy Install.
    11.  When the Easy Install screen appears, click Install and then "Use the printer with wireless LAN connection" and follow the prompts to complete the installation.
After it is installed, we need to return to Normal Startup.  To do this, press the ‘Windows + R’ key on the keyboard. In the Run Windows’s ‘Open box:' type ’msconfig’ (Without the quotation marks) and click ‘OK’.  Click Normal Startup and then try to use the printer.

  • Canon Pixma Pro9000 Mark 2 - HELP! - switching off color management in the print dialog

    Hello
I'm using Lightroom 5 to print. I'm selecting a custom profile in the print section and lightroom says in italics below

i have the tray in the correct position and push the little green button when it comes on to insert paper but then the yellow light blinks and won't take the paper.  Please help.

    Hi kcp,
Do you happen to notice a pattern to the blinking lights?  Maybe a series of flashes and then a pause?  How many flashes between each pause?  This information could point to specific error that we can troubleshooting.  Also, since I'm asking questions: What operating system are you using?

  • Any printing issues CS4/PIXMA Pro9000/MAC OS 10.5?

I just installed CS-4 on my new MAC and encountered the dark print problems (on my HP printer) that I have read about here. I was planning on getting a Canon PIXMA Pro9000. Anyone have any experience with CS4 / MAC and this printer?

You can download the driver, install it and add printer to check the features. Make sure you can turn off CM etc.
The latest driver has a 12/18/2008 date so I would guess it works correctly.

  • Canon Pixma 9000

I have a Canon Pixma Pro9000 that is all of a suddent printing very lightly ink wise no matter how I set the paper and quality of print.  I have updated the drivers, done all of the maintenance, and yet everything we print is super light.  I tried going back to all of the printer defaults and even did a Windows System restore to a date prior to when we had the problem with no luck.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

It is essential your monitor and your printer show the same thing. If this is not the case adjusting your printer is fruitless. Did you happen to change monitors recently?
There's no LCD screen (PictBridge operations are controlled through the camera's LCD) and no card reader. If you have such a camera ( PictBridge) try printing directly from it and see if the problem still exists.
Until you isolate whether it is a problem with the printer or your computer it will be like chasing your tail.

  • I want to use my canon pixma ip4500 as my printer with my good ole G4.  I need a driver.  Is there an easy  way to get that or is my G4 too old?

I want to use my canon pixma ip4500 as my printer with my powerbook G4.  I need a driver but was very confused with how to get one.  Is it possible and could someone come down to my level and tell me step by step how to do it?  Many thanks.

Nope, your PB is not too old.
Here is the link to the PIXMA ip4500 drivers on Canon's site:
    Drivers & Software
The page has you first select your version of the Mac OS (10.4) from the pull-down "Chose Operating System" menu. Once selected, you'll see the available software, Click on the arrown next to "Drivers" and it should look like this:
(click image to enlarge if needed)
Click the word "Download " and you'll get the driver.
Note at the top of that image there are other links to other documents pertaining to this printer. If you click on "Brochures and Manuals," while you are on that web page, you'll have Canon's instructions, probably better done than by anyone here other than someone who has the same printer model on a Mac running OS 10.4.
