Canon Powershot S100 RAW files with Elements 9

I have Photoshop Elements 9 and am trying to display and work with my RAW files that I've taken with my Canon Powershot S100 but it doesn't want to read the files... I've tried the lateset update from Adobe but that doesn't seem to work either... any ideas?

Use the free Adobe DNG converter to convert your RAW files to DNG, and open the DNG files in PSE9:

  • Is there a way to open Canon 5d mkii RAW files with Elements 7?

I keep getting error messages. I have looked at the updates but wonder if Elements 7 is too old?

Yes, much. You can try downloading the free Adobe  DNG converter and using that to make files that may work in your version of ACR, or you can use the canon software to convert the files, or you can upgrade to PSE 11.

  • Opening Canon 6D .CR2 raw files with CS5 Extended

Can't open Canon EOS 6D raw files with CS5. What is the minimum I need to do to open Canon  EOS 6D .CR2 raw files in Photoshop CS5 Extended version 12.1 x64, and Brige CS5 version 4.1.0.54, and Camera Raw version 6.7.0.339? I would rather not have to go through the hassle of first converting all files with the Adobe DNG - is there another option? Can I upgrade my Adobe software?

Im having the same problem, and i use CS6
Do you know if CC can open 6D .CR2 files?
    Thanks!

  • Can't open Canon Rebel T5i raw file in elements 10

I am trying to open a raw file (CR2) in my Elements 10 program, but I keep getting error messages that it's the "wrong type of file".
I've looked around & downloaded the plug-in that was supposed to fix that, but it still isn't working.
    What am I missing??
PS - I am also using Windows 7, the camera raw plug in version is 6.7.0.339, and my camera is a Canon EOS Rebel T5i
    *edited to add*
so I just followed this link:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/thankyou.jsp?ftpID=5316&fileID=4946
because it looked like my camera raw plug in needed updating, but I got an installation error code: U44M2P7

my camera is a Canon EOS Rebel T5i
The Rebel T5i was first supported by Camera Raw 7.4 which is only compatible with Elements 11 and later

Unfortunately Elements 10 is only compatible with Camera Raw up to version 6.7. It's not compatible with Camera Raw 7.4 so it'll never be able to open T5i Raw files.
If you want to open T5i Raw files in Elements, you'll have to upgrade to Elements 12.
Alternatively, if you want to stick with Elements 10, you can download the free DNG converter from Adobe, convert all T5i Raw files to DNGs. Then open the DNGs in Elements 10.

  • Can't open Canon 70D raw files with elements 12

Can anyone advise me why elements 12 will not open my Canon 70D raw files?  When I have tried to update elements it tells me that there are no updates available. The Adobe Photoshop Camera Raw plugin is version 8.0.0.137

The Canon 70D was first supported in Camera Raw 8.2.
Camera Raw plug-in | Supported cameras
    EOS 70D
    CS2
    8.2
    5.2
Camera Raw 8.5 should be available for Elements 12 via Help > Updates
Photoshop elements 12 and camera raw 8.5
If you have windows XP, Vista or Mac OS X 10.6.8 you won't get the camera raw 8.5 update, because it doesn't work on those operating systems.
In that case you should be able to update to Camera Raw 8.3

  • Canon Powershot G16 RAW files and CS5

I want to be able to work with Canon RAW files shot on my G16 but CS5 doesn't seem to support this. Is there a plug in? or do I need to purchase new/latest software? I really don't want to if I can help it - I have a budget and I'm quite happy with everything else about CS5.
    Nick

Photoshop uses an Adobe plugin called Camera Raw to read Raw files. Camera Raw must be updated every time a new camera comes on to the market and not all versions of Camera Raw are compatible with all versions of Photoshop.

The Canon Powershot G16 was first supported in Adobe Camera Raw 8.2 which is only compatible with CS6 and later.
To open Raw files from the G16 in Photoshop, your choices are to upgrade to CS6 or join the Cloud.
Alternatively, you can download the free DNG converter from Adobe, convert all G16 Raw files to DNGs then open and edit the DNGs in CS5

  • Raw Files with Elements 9

I can't open .CRT raw files from Canon SX50 even though raw plug in is installed with version 6.5.0.

The SX50 is quite a new model which PSE9 pre-dates. You have two alternatives:
    (1) Upgrade to PSE 11. (2) Download and install the free Adobe DNG converter to convert your raw files to the Adobe universal Raw format and the files will open in all versions of PSE (keep your originals as backups and for use in the camera manufactures software)
Windows download click here DNG Converter 7.3
Mac download click here DNG Converter 7.3
You can convert a whole folder of raw images in one click. See this quick video tutorial:

  • Processing raw files with Elements 8

I have Elements 8 for the processing the raw files from my Nikon D40.  There has been not issue with these files.  I just recently picked up a D7100.  Now with this camera when i download the raw files to the computer I am receiving a message that Elements does not reconize those raw files and will not open them.
Is there some different setting for the newer camera's?

Every camera has its own raw format and the raw converter must be updated to work with each new camera model. PSE 8 will not open those files--it's just too old to be able to be updated far enough.
    Your options are:
    1. Upgrade to PSE 12.
    2. Use the nikon software to convert the files and just use PSE for further editing for the converted files.
    3. Download the free Adobe DNG converter to make DNG files from your NEFs. PSE 8's raw converter can read those.

  • Lightroom 3 and Photoshop CS3 do not recognise Canon PowerShot S90 raw files

My husband has lightroom 3 and Photoshop CS3 but they don't recognise CanonPowershot S90 camera raw files. I've tried searching for the problem on internet but can't find anything that helps. Adobe's DNG converter doesn't work either. I've tried different versions of the DNG converter to no avail. Buying a new Adobe product is out of the question.
Another problem is that his e-mail address has been changed so that he can't login to his Adobe account. We used to be able to contact Adobe Netherlands by phone or email but that option isn't available anymore.
    Can anyone help please?

    Go to here:
Adobe - Lightroom : For Windows : Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3.6
    or here:
Adobe - Lightroom : For Macintosh : Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3.6
for the final versions of LR3. Download and install the software. You do not need to remove your present installation first, LR will install over it and fix any faults that now exist.
Your husband can log onto his Adobe account with the old email address and when in the account can edit the address to the new one.

  • I have a canon D70 camera and I can't download my raw files to elements 11 or lightroom 4

I have a canon D70 camera and I can't download my raw files to elements 11 or lightroom 4

If you don't use the DNG Converter to create DNGs from your raw files, then you'll need to purchase LR 5 to us LR with your camera that is newer than LR4; however, there is something you can do for PSE11:
ACR 8.3 will work with PSE11 to open 70D files, but there is no installer, so you have to be a little devious to get things to all work.  You also need to be on a Windows 7 or 8 since ACR 8.3 supposedly doesn't work on Vista.  I should also say that the process outlined below does work on my Windows 7 64-bit computer, but I also have PS-CS6 and PS-CC installed on it, so it is possible that ACR 8.3 is dependent on something that wouldn't exist on a computer with only PSE installed on it, but someone else will have to confirm that.
I was able to get 70D files to open in ACR 8.3 on PSE11 by doing the following:
Download the ACR 8.3 for Windows update for PS-CC via the direct download link on the Adobe Blog:
    http://blogs.adobe.com/crawlspace/2011/03/keeping-photoshop-up-to-date.html#notconnected
Unzip this downloaded setup.zip to a folder somewhere.
Inside the files from that zip is a folder called payloads \ AdobeCameraRaw8.0All-031213015928.  Note that this is the folder without x64 in the path.  PSE11 is a 32-bit program so we need the 32-bit version of the plug-in.
Inside that folder is another ZIP called Assets1_1.zip so unzip it somewhere.
Inside Assets1_1.zip there is a file called 1003.  This is the largest file in that zip and is the plug-in you need.
Copy this 1003 file into the existing PSE11 camera raw plug-in folder:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\Elements 11\File Formats or for a 32-bit Windows OS, into:  C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\Elements 11\File Formats
Rename the existing Camera Raw.8bi to Camera Raw.8bi_7 (in case something doesn't work and you need to rename it back, later).
    Rename 1003 to Camera Raw.8bi
After these steps you have the ACR 8.3 plug-in installed in PSE11 but not the camera and lens profiles, so install those by downloading and installing the DNG Converter 8.3:

I uploaded the images from the card to my Pro (Aperture 3) and while the import info said 1500 images were uploaded, I can't find the RAW images.  Aperture put about 700 images in an untitled project folder, but all the images are the JPEGs.  What am I missing?

Have you checked your "Import" settings for "Raw&Jpeg" pairs in the "Import" panel?
You can set Aperture to import raw, jpeg, or raw&jpeg.
If you imported Raw&Jpeg, but have set Aperture to use the Jpeg as original, you will see the imported image as Jpeg image, not as a raw image, even if the raw has also been imported. You can switch between Raw and Jpeg originals for selected images from the Photos menu:
Photos > Use Raw as original.

  • How to open RAW files using elements 10 with a pc using windows xp and nikon D3300

i have an old pc running on windows xp to which i downloaded elements 10. i recently bought a nikon d3300 and am shooting RAW. is there a way to open the RAW files using elements 10?

The 8.4 dng converter won't work on windows xp, but will on windows 7.
The newest version of the dng converter that works on windows xp is 8.3
    http://blogs.adobe.com/lightroomjournal/2013/12/camera-raw-8-support-on-windows-xp-windows -vista-and-mac-osx-10-6.html
Since you have windows 7 you might as well use the newest version of the dng converter 8.7.1
(covers the same cameras as 8.3, with some added and bug fixes)
