Canon Selphy CP730 won't print anymore

After installing the latest iPhoto (7.0.2) my Canon Selphy CP730 Compact Photo Printer won't print photo's from iPhoto anymore. The light on the printer blinks for a second, goes red and then back to green, while an icon in the Dock shows the CP730 with a red exclamation mark.
The strange thing is that I can print from all my other applications to this device. And with the previous iPhoto there where no problems either. I already reinstalled the drivers for the CP730, without succes.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance,
Michel

Michel:
Try deleting the various printing pref files. One would be located in the User/Library/Preferences/ByHost folder. It would look something like this: com.apple.print.Cache.0016cb3791b6.plist (number will be different). Also com.apple.print.PrintingPrefs.plist and any obvious Canon prefs for the printer. There will be a lot of other Canon prefs but look of any that are obviously linked to the printer. You may not fine any, however.
Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Canon IP7250 - Color won't print - Please help

I have a Canon IP7250, two day ago, my printer showed me error C000. I resolved this error, but now my printer won't printing in colour. Black working properly. I tried many times to cleaning a toner in mainteace. When I go to "print head alignment" then shows error 2500. ? In nozzle check black colour is excellent but no other colors on paper.
    Please, help me.
    Thanks.

Again, the username/password, would either be your logon username/password or your "root" username/password if you have enabled it.
Another option would be to update your CUPS software. Multi-functional printers are usually "tricky" to get full-featured drivers for. It's possible that a newer version for this particular printer may exist with an update.
Still another option (and possibly a better one) would be to download and install the latest Gutenprint printer drivers. These were formally known as Gimp-Print drivers. (ref: http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net/MacOSX.php3)

  • CS3 won't print anymore

    Since I installed LR2, CS3 won't print any more. I worked already with LR1.4 and LR2beta.
When I give a print command in CS3 I get two warnings: first that I have to install a printer and second that the print command can not be completed because of a Adobe Color Engine problem.
But the "Print one Copy" command does work.
I deleted all the prefslists of CS3, LR2 and even LR1,4. Didn't work.
My platform is an old macG5 and Leopard (no timemachine installed)
    Any suggestions??

I have fixed the problem. After running the maintenance scripts photoshop is printing again.

  • HP P1005 won't print anymore?

We have a HP P1005 Laserjet (just out of warranty!) that has suddenly stopped responding to print commands. Ran the HP Diagnostic - which usually resolves any print que issues for us but still won't print! Then tried to STOP/START the print spooler manually using the SERVICES.MSC commands but also fails to print. I've re-booted the pc (running XP SP3) and also re-booted the printer....but still NO GO!! This was working fine yesterday and today....it won't run.
Any suggestions as to what to try next or am I looking at a new printer?

I have experienced a similar problem. I installed a P1005 in April 2009. The locaally attached USB printer ran fine until December. Then, the printer started hanging on print jobs and could not be cleared. I downloaded the new device driver from HP's website.
The  printer works fine when logged into the computer as the Network Administrator. However, when the user log's in without Network Admin privileges, the printer does not work. I had to set the local user up with Network Administrator privileges in order to make the printer work. After I got the printer to work in this fashion, as a test, I removed the Admin privileges from the local user's account profile, and then the local user could not print to the P1005. I had to restore the Network Admin privileges to the local user in order to make the printer work.
This is not an acceptable condition in a network Microsoft Server 2003 Domain environment, as it violates all kinds of security protocols.
How can the device settings be adjusted to allow the local user to use this locally attached USB printer without the need of Network Administrator privileges?

  • Canon iRC3080-J1 – won't print

We have a Canon iRC3080-J1 printer networked andused by about 20 users. It's not shared through a server but working as a "standalone" printer.
This far it has been workin ok, but a a couple of weeks ago it just stopped working from my workstation. No one else has problems with printing (all workstations are MacPros with 10.6 so thery're quite similarly configured) but when I try to print, I get the message telling that the printer driver has been installed incorrectly and it should be installed again or I should ask help from the manufacturer.
So I've reinstalled the driver several times, no help. I've called Canon; they told me to reinstall the driver and if it won't work then I should do a clean install of OS X. So no help - I won't reinstall the OS, all the programs and configure the machine; I suppose that if I use time machine or migration assistant, the problem comes along with the restored data.
So any ideas how to get the printer working without a clean OS install and manual data and setting restoration?

There was no official driver for Snow Leopard for the imagePASS-J1. So the procedure for 10.6 is to download and install the J1 driver for 10.5 and then to run the Snow Leopard update.
From reading the post it sounds like the update has failed - that message is typical for the 10.5 driver on 10.6. So you could look at applying the 10.6 update again.
If that doesn't help then I suggest you delete the existing printer in Print & Fax and then trash the PS3 folder in HD > Library > Printers > Canon. Then you can install the J1 driver again followed by the 10.6 update.
Also, just to check that the printing system is not the cause, on your Mac you can create another print queue to the Canon but this time using Generic Postscript in the Print Using menu. If this prints then it does point more at it being a driver issue rather than an internal print system error.

  • IPad4/iPhone5 won't print anymore

When I first got the iPhone5 and iPad4, they came with IOS6. At that time they worked just fine with my CM1415fnw color LaserJet MFC. But that stopped once they got updated to IOS6.0.1. Now all I get is a printer halt saying that the paper won't feed. The file is in the buffer, all I have to do is physically acknowledge the error at the printer control panel, and the file prints just fine. But that should not be necessary. Apple says it's a HP problem, that HP has not yet issued a firmware update that will work properly with 6.0.1. I think they might have meant ePrint software, but that doesn't matter. I've uninstalled/reinstalled the current firmware AND ePrint software, it didn't fix the issue.

    Hi Greg.
Did you tried rebooting any of the devices? that may help in may cases after an OS update.
Please try unplugging the router from the power for 30 seconds, than allow the router 2-3 minutes to start.
Next reboot the printer and check if you may see any difference.
I personally use the CM1415fnw with the latest iOS version and never faced similar issues so I wouldn't suspect any firmware problem.. I assume you do have the latest firmware for your printer, am I right?

  • Canon Pixma 8120 won't print after new hard drive + TC install

I have a great Pixma 8120 which was previously successfully networked wirelessly to an intel imac SL 10.6.8 and
a Macbook Pro running Lion.  Our internet connection is Fios via router and the imac had been connected via
    ethernet to the Fios router.
Last week, the imac's hard drive needed to be replaced - Apple Geniuses
installed the new hard drive at the apple store and restored all of the data.   I bought a new Time Capsule
and backed up the new hard drive as soon as I got it home (yes I got religion).
I now have the TC connected via ethernet
to the router and set up a new network -- connected both the imac and the macbook  via airport no problem.  Nice
    fast internet (safari).
The problem is the Canon printer.  I configured the printer to recognize the new network over the TC and was able to
connect it via wi-fi to the access point.  When printing however, the printer icon pops up in the dock and looks like its starting
to process the job but then the job disappears fromt the print queue screen.  poof.  nothing.
I  suspect I may have a problem with the TC's security settings not being compatible with the canon - the canon manual does say something about the canon not supporting "enterprise" and I did see that in the TC settings.
I have a huge work project due tomorrow so I decided to forego the wireless thing for now and just hook the printer up
via USB to the imac.  I reinstalled the Canon software following the all directions for when to plug in the USB in the process.
It didn't work.  Then  I went to the Canon support page and downloaded/installed  an updated driver. Now I have
a nice new looking printer icon but when I try to print it starts and then gives me a "communication error has occured"
    message -- error 306.
Does anyone have advice for me?

Never mind.  I realized that I needed to ethernet the imac to the TC.
I just got the Canon to print. Sorry to bother.

Help.

    Hello,
Please visit the following website, click "Software," and download the "My Image Garden" software.  This should allow your printer to be able to print onto CDs.

  • HP 1300 won't print anymore after 10.6.8

Just downgraded from 10.5 to 10.6.8... and I just can't get my HP 1300 (usb connected) to print. It shows up, powers and checks normal but no print jobs ever get there. I've made sure I have any latest drivers etc. I've read about backend drivers, reset packages, hp's version that all drivers for this printer are in the 10.6 kit, but nothing works. Any ideas???? TIA
    siberian

Disconnect all devices from the computer then do the following:
Boot up from your Snow Leopard Install DVD while holding down the "c" key.
Select the language you wish to use, and then choose "Disk Utility" from the menu bar.
Your HD should appear in a panel on the left hand side of the window which opens. Select it and then click on the "repair disk" button in the right hand section of the window.
Once this process has been completed restart your computer and repair permissions directly from Disk Utility.
If Disk Utility is unable to complete the repair, you will need to use a stronger 3rd party utility like DiskWarrior, Techtool PRO (not Deluxe) or Drive Genius.
Reconnect your printer.  If still not printing try the solutions mentioned below.
What to do when you can't print
Install the gimp drivers.  CLICKY CLICK---> http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net/MacOSX.php, repair permissions and restart your computer.

  • Aperture and Printing with a Canon Selphy dye-sub

    Hi everybody,
I want to use my Canon Selphy CP510 (dye-sub) printer for prointing from Aperture. I was used from Photoshop to disable color management in the program, but make use of the color management in the printer driver. The printer driver came without any ICC-profile, but by this way, prints became excellent.
In Aperture the only way seems to be to set (in the Printing Windows) Color Management to "System Managed". By this way, color become dark, dull, and there is also a light color cast.
I found in the web a ICC-profile from am CP330, but nothing changed, when I selected this profile for printing.
Do you have experience with this printer (or any Canon Selphy printers)?
Someone told me to let make a color ICC for this printer by professionals (send a print of a certain color traget to a studio with a special scanner in order to produce a color profile)
    regards,
    Sandro

I would suggest running the ColorSync Utility in Applications/Utilities. Click the Devices toolbar button and click on your printer in the Printers section of the list. That will display what profile the OS is using for the printer. Even if the printer did not come with a profile, the OS will assign a generic profile to it.
Try selecting that profile as the printer profile to use in the Aperture print dialog. I think that might be similar to what you were doing in Photoshop.

  • Canon i80 won't print

Having a problem with Canon i80 which won't print. The document goes to the que but does not print. Any suggestions?

    Hi tunanut1,
Removing and reinstalling the printer on your computer may resolve the issue you are experiencing.  You can also try removing the USB cable from the printer and the computer and then reconnecting the cable to both devices to ensure that the connections are secure, or try using a different USB cable if you have one available.

  • Flash content (embedded using SWFObject or using other methods) won't print

All Flash content embedded using SWFObject or using other methods won't print anymore, since version 3.6.4.
There is a blank square on the printed page instead of the object.
There was no trouble with previous firefox version.
    I've got the issue with version 3.6.4, 3.6.6 & 3.6.7
I'm using Adobe flash player version 10,1,53,64 ; I've tried to downgrade to Adobe flash player version 9, I'd got the same issue.
I've tried from multiple computer and still had the same blank square.
    Thanks for your help !

Having the same problem with our flash based design tool. For now we're recommending that our users use IE as it prints the flash objects fine. Would prefer to use Firefox, but that won't be an option until flash objects can be printed again (as they used to be).

  • My applet won't print properly

I wrote an applet that draws a line graph based on parameters I feed it through <PARAM> tags. Those tages are written dynamically with Cold Fusion. It works perfectly, but what good is a graph if you can't have a copy of it? When I try to print the page with the applet running in it, nothing comes out. My computer is running Win98, IE 6.0 and proper printer drivers. The funny thing is I am able to print some of the demo applets that come with the JDK, but my own applet will not print. It can be printed from other computers around my office. I thought maybe it was IE 6 acting up so I tried Netscape 4.7, 6.0, and Opera 6.0 none of them can print my applet from my computer. I'm just worried that someone out there will have the same problem as me.
The way I'm drawing the graphs is by overloading the default paint method of the applet. Like I said, it works fine on some computers, and a variety of web browsers, exept IE 6. I looked at the source code of the sample applets that WERE ABLE to print on my computer, I realized they extended the Canvas class, overloaded its paint method, then added the canvas to the applet's panel. I tried to mimic that with my applet and still no luck. I compile the sample applet and mimic the html sample page and then it won't print anymore. Any thoughts on what is going on?

To print an applet in action make a
    SCREENSHOT!
The online game players always do this to save screens.
On WIN 98 it is: STRG+PAUSE I guess.
Copy the screenshot to e.g. paint.exe and print.
    Hope this helps.
