Canon selphy cp900 wireless print problem

I recently bought a canon selphy cp900, am running  a mac os moutain lion 10.8.2. Am unable to do wireless priting via access point. Is there a solution to this problem?

I just purchased the Selphy CP900 and had the same problem.  The fix was so simple.  Plug your mac into Selphy via USB.  Go into System Preferences  -- Print & Scan.  Highlight the CP900 and "ADD" / "+" the Selphy.
Disconnect the USB from the Selphy.
Restart the Selphy Photo Print Software and it should now light up green that all is connected.
I thought the problem was with the network connection, but my mac just couldn't find the Selphy. (duh)
Anyone have an answer for how to print from iPhoto to Selphy?  The only thing I can figure out to do is to drag/drop my pic from iPhoto to my Desktop. (I added Desktop folder to the list of Folders on the Selphy Software App.)
I am running 10.7.5

  • Canon Selphy CP900 error: "Printer open failed.:-9781"

    Help.
I've read through every single support thread I can find regarding print issues with the CP900 wireless printer. I've installed the driver, connected to my access point and follow all instructions in my manual and still cannot get a photo to print from iPhoto --- what's up.
Additional info: at first I was getting an error message that the print size was not supported by my printer, but I seemed to have worked through that issue and now I'm getting the error message posted above. I'm SUPER frustrated! Any ideas?

    Update.
I had read others talk about uninstalling and reinstalling the CP900 driver. I did this, with a reboot and it worked. Problem solved. weird!

  • Canon Pixma MP500 wireless printing problem

I've got this USB printer connected to an Airport Extreme base station. Wireless printing used to work fine, but doesn't anymore. I ensured that printer sharing is set in the Airport admin utility. Yesterday I spent about 30 minutes with a guy from AppleCare trying to troubleshoot this issue to no avail. Printing works fine if I plug the USB cable into the Powerbook. I'm using Canon-supplied drivers. But that was also the case when wireless printing used to work. So this problem is a bit strange and frustrating.
My guess is that some security update or change in the OS is causing the problem. The Apple guy agreed, though he had no idea as to what the specific issue might be. Any ideas or help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,

    Hello Rich, Phil and Dave,
I'll see if I can offer some advice to you all...
    Rich,
Okay, first of all I want to check what you see in the Printer Browser > Default Browser. Under the heading Printer Name should be Canon MP500 and under the heading Connection should be Bonjour. If you select the printer, the Name, Location and Print Using should be automatically populated (Print Using should show Canon IJ Printer). Do you get this?
If you do and can add the printer, then what happens when you attempt to print something?
    Phil,
The -9672 is usually caused by the printer reporting it is a different model to the selected driver. Picking a different printer from the list of Canon's doesn't always work, as there is often control information in the driver comms that are specific for a model (otherwise you could have one driver for every printer). You should try running the Repair Permissions option in Disk Utility. Updates sometimes set some values back to system defaults, which can impact the ability of Mac to correctly identify a peripheral such as a printer.
    Dave the drummer,
Do you notice the Airport signal strength when the printing fails? I have seen some printing fail like you describe when the signal drops too low. Is your wife's iBook located closer to the Airport than your PBG4?
Also, I would try running the Repair Permissions option in Disk Utility.
    Regards,
    Paul

  • Canon Selphy ES 1 printing problem.

I am trying to print from my MacBook Pro (2.16 GHz Intel core 2 Duo, Memory 3GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM) to a Canon SELPHY ES 1 using CUPS+Gutenprint v5.2.7 driver and connected using a USB cable. The printer and Mac recognise each other but when I print the printer job monitor says that it is Printing page 1, 100% but nothing is happening. The printer works fine when connected directly to a camera. Anyone have an idea what I can do to solve this?

Was this a printer which you had added before upgrading to Lion? If so, disconnect the printer, remove the printer from System > Add Printers, and re-add the printer.

    Hello Bama-85,
You are correct, printers do not install the same way on Chrome OS. I looked on the Google Cloud Print site and your Canon printer is indeed supported. Follow this link to setup your cloud ready printer.
I haven't setup a Canon printer via Google Cloud Print, but I assume it's as easy as setting up HP's printers on the print service.

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
If you have a Mac running OS X, try AirPrint Activator.

Free to download and try. If it works and you like it, the developers do appreciate a donation, but the app continues to function, even without a donation.

  • Canon Pixma MG6120 Wireless printer - can't get to work with AirportExtreme

Canon Pixma MG6120 Wireless printer - can't install mg6100swin104ejs.exe 64 bit wirelss driver on Windows 7 64bit when printer is registered to 10.0.1.X Airport Extreme. Even if I enable Advanced Port Mapping, Printer Sharing the Canon software doesn't recognize the printer if it is registered wirelessly to the Airport Extreme. Canon senior tech support and Apple senior tech support don't know how to help. Any advice for someone who was able to get a Canon Pixma Printer to work with their Airport Extreme from a Windows 7 64bit PC also connected to 10.0.1.X subnet? Your advice is greatly appreciated. The printer once online is pingable at 10.0.1.9 and I can see SD cards and browse photo's just can't get the Canon software to wirelessly activate/install.

To print from an iPAD using the Lexmark S300 series, you need to download the LexPrint app from this link: LexPrint

  • C4580 Wireless Printing Problem

We purchased a C4580 a few months ago and successfully installed it into our home network.  We eventually had to replace the printer cartridges and went with the high-capacity HP cartridges - then we noticed a problem.  Every time we print out a test page on the printer, it is perfect; however, every time we submit a print job wirelessly the page is a mess!  The wireless print jobs are full of gaps, incompletely printed lines, and doubly printed letters.  AARRGGHH!!!  I am thinking of loading an SD card with a print job, inserting it into the printer and seeing if that will work.  I have updated all software and have had no luck so far in overcoming this wireless print problem - any suggestions?

I was going to lead you to this page to download and install the Full Feature driver.  I also noticed that there are quite a few updates for the software and printer on the same page.
I still think you should install the full featured driver, but if it persists, try some of the updates?

  • Canon Selphy ES1 Postcard Printer

    Hi,
    Can someone please help me.
I have the new iMac 21.5" with Mountain Lion.
I cannot print using my Canon Selphy ES1 Postcard Printer.
If anyone has a solution on how to fix this I would really appreciate it.
    Thankyou

    I have the same printer..
    Visit the following link http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net/MacOSX.php
Download the Gutenprint 5.2.10 is released! version.
    Then follow the following instructions:
Certain models of dyesub printers need a special manual configuration in order to select a custom "backend" driver in Gutenprint 5.2.10 and above. The specific models include:
    Canon (SELPHY ES, CP series)
Kodak (Professional 1400, 805/6800/6850/605 Photo Printer)
    Shinko/Sinfonia (CHC-S2145)
    Sony (UP-DR150, UP-DR200)
    DNP (DS40, DS80, DS-RX1)
    Citizen (CX, CX-W, CY)
    Mitsubishi (CP-D70DW, CP-D707DW, CP-K60DW-S)
We do not presently have an automatic way of forcing Gutenprint to use the correct backend. If you are using one of these printers and use the standard backend, it will add successfully, but will fail to print. You will need to add a new printer and explicitly specify the backend by doing the following:
If necessary, install the installer package for Gutenprint 5.2.10 or above.
Make sure your dyesub printer is connected via USB, turned on, and ready to print.
Under the Apple menu, go to System Preferences, then click the Printers & Scanners icon (for OS X 10.5, the Print & Fax icon).
Examine the printer list (on the left-hand side of the dialog) to see if your dyesub printer has already been added. If so, remove the print queue by clicking the - (minus) button below the list.
Click the + (plus) button below the list.
In the new window that appears, look for your dyesub printer in the list of found printers. It will likely show two listings -- one with a Kind of "gutenprint52+usb", and one with a Kind of "USB". (You may need to wait a few seconds for all the listings to appear; on OS 10.5, it may take several minutes, and your system may appear to be frozen.)
Select the printer with the Kind showing "gutenprint52+usb".
Verify that the Use pop-up menu at the bottom of the windows shows the name of the printer, followed by a string similar to "CUPS+Gutenprint v5.2.10".
    Click the Add button.
    Close the System Preferences dialog.
My ES 1Printer now works from my MAC Book Pro 17 ins running os X 10.9.5. Great for postcards etc...

  • I have an ipad 2, verizon jet Pak router, canon pixma mg3220 wireless printer. All were working until yesterday. Now I get  no air printer found message. Have shut down everything and restarted. No change

I have an ipad 2, verizon jet Pak router ang canon pixma mg3220 wireless printer. All were working until yesterday. Now, I am getting no air printer message. Have shut everything down and restarted. It did not work.

    See requirements for AirPrint (http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4356):
If your printer supports AirPrint but does not work then:
Your printer might need a firmware update
Your printer must be on the same WiFi network
Your router must support Bonjour (Zero-configuration networking).
    For troubleshooting:
Turn Off iPad, WiFi router (remove from power), and Printer (remove from power).
    Turn on WiFi router
    Wait 30 seconds
    Turn on printer
    Wait 30 seconds
    Turn on iPad
    Try to print.

  • Wireless printing problems with Canon iP4300, but USB printing ok

My MacBook Pro is setup for wireless printing with a printer(Canon Pixma iP4300) connected to my other PC Desktop. The only problem is that when I print anything all the text and images are miniaturized and squished about a quarter of a page large into the upper left corner of an 8.5x11 paper. I installed all the programs that came with the printer installation disk and when I connect my MacBook directly to the printer via USB everything prints out just fine.
I suspect the problem is with the selection of printer model when you go to "Printer Setup" in System Preferences. The existing list of Canon printer models given to me by the computer does not contain anything specific for my iP4300. I simply chose the option "BJC 4300 Gimp-Print v.5.0.0-beta 2". Does anyone know of a way where I could add to that list of printer models or is there another way to get my wireless printing to work normally? Thanks to anyone who can help.

I have the same printer and network printing is a pain. Canon decided not to include a network specific driver for this printer.
You can try getting the latest version of the gimp-print drivers. The latest version has better support for ip4300. If it's worth it to you, PrintFab drivers have been working for me but PrintFab isn't free.
The latest Gimp-print (Gutenprint) drivers are here: http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net/MacOSX.php3
    Hope that helps.

  • Wireless printing problem

I have wireless printing issues. Here is the setup. I have a desktop pc (windows xp) with a wireless router. I had an HP printer connected to the pc and had a pc laptop and mac laptop with wireless cards for internet access and sharing the printer with the desktop pc. All was going well. I bought a new imac intel core duo and got a canon ip4200 for free. I replaced the HP printer with the canon which is now connnected via USB to the desktop pc. The pc desktop prints fine. The new imac connects to the internet wirelessly, no problem, but will not print correctly. At first, after selecting the canon printer on the imac it would print a document in a very small font in the upper left corner of the paper. After downloading new drivers, tech support, etc it will not work at all. Canon says that the ip4200 is not a "network printer". Is there any way to make this work without changing my whole setup? I am a computer novice!

I had similar problems setting up a printer on my iMac that was hung off a windows PC. I ran 'Bonjour' on the PC and set the iMac up again and all worked fine after that.
    Worth a try.

  • Airport Express and Canon Pixma IP4500 wireless printing

    Hello,
I bought an Airport Express and set it up as an additional wireless network at an 5Ghz N mode. It's conneted to a Linksys Wireless router modem/router. Internet connectivity is fine from both iMac 24 and MacBook. Both use OSX 10.5.4.x
Airport is set up via USB with a Canon Pixma IP4500 inkjet. When connected directly to the iMac, it prints fine. When I connect the IP4500 to the Airport Express, I get an Error 300 - basically saying the printer is not responding.
The whole point of the Airport Express was a faster network for both wireless printing and playing iTunes wirelessly from the MacBook.
Any tips on what could be a common problem for this printer?
    Thanks

    I had a similar problem
I had to "add a new printer", so one printer refers to the directly connected printer and the other refers to the printer connected to the airport (bonjour).
    Greetings.

  • Wireless Printing Problems

    Hi
I have an early 2011 Macbook Pro connected to an Asus RT-N13U wireless router. I have a Canon Pixma MP210 printer that I have tried to setup for wireless printing via the USB port in the router. I thought I had it sorted as the printer will print a test page. However, when I try to print a document, the print queue just says "copying print data" and will go no further.
I'm using Mac OS X v10.7.2 and the Canon printer driver is v2.7 (this driver recently downloaded via the Apple software update, but the same problems occurred with v2.6 too). When I set up the printer, I click + in the Print & Scan window of system preferences, select IP and then the following:
Protocol - Line Printer Daemon - LPD
Address - IP address of router
    Queue - LPRServer
I then enter a name and location and then from "Print Using" I choose "select printer software" and then select the entry for my printer as named above and click ok.
If I then print a test page, it works, but as I say, any "normal" document won't.
If I try auto-select at the Print Using stage, it auto-selects "Generic PostScript Printer" and the message this time when I try to print is that the printer is busy (rather than copying data). There's no option with this driver to print a test page.
Finally, when I log on to my router, the network map shows my printer is present with text stating the printer name (even before I've added it as a printer on my mac - so something somewhere is recognising it) and "Enabled".
Any thoughts on how to make this work? Or should I just get used to getting up of the sofa and plugging in a USB cable?
    Thanks

When you have a Canon inkjet printer connected to the USB port of a router, print server or shared via Windows, you cannot use the Canon provided driver. For these types of connections you need to use a driver that is designed to work, such as those from Gutenprint or PrintFab. Gutenprint is preferred because it is free, however looking at the supported models list for the latest version of Gutenprint, the MP210 is not listed as a supported model. So you could try using one of the other Canon-Gutenprint models, such as the MP150. If you are not able to find a compatible Gutenprint driver for the MP210 then you may have to go down the Printfab path. This software suite does cost €49 but at least it lists the MP210 as a supported printer.
