Hello Mojoala.
For testing purposes, please temporarily disable any firewall or anti-spyware utilities on the computer. Then check to see if the program will open correctly.

My Canon MP630 prints OK, but will only scan from the printer window.
Solution Menu (1.2.0) keeps crashing.
I am running Mac OS Mavericks (10.9.2) on an iMac.
Printer Driver (10.84.2.0) is installed.
MP Navigator EX (3.0.6) has been downloaded and installed.
How can I get Solutions Menu to run properly?Jack Benlow1 wrote:
I can scan OK using Image Capture, but Solutiions Menu offered more options.
Solutions Menu is just a quick access panel to other Canon applications. It has no other function. The latest version of Solutions Menu is 1.4.1.
So scanning is performed by MP Navigator EX and the latest version is 2.0.7 - not 2.0.1. Here is a link to this latest version. Note that the new version should overwrite the old. No need to trash the older version.
And in order to use MP Navigator you need to have the MP630 scanner driver installed. Here is a link to the latest version 14.11.4a. Note that Image Capture uses a different scanner driver (ICA). -
Is there a way to import the iPhoto (9.2.1) database of photos into a folder so that I may use Canon's Solution Menu EX software to print on a Pixma MG5220 ? I do not want to remove the existing photo's from iPhoto but transfer them to a folder that the Canon software will recognize.
You Export photos from iPhoto -
In iPhoto File menu ==> export - create the folder on the desktop - then use them as you wish

I have two Canon printers an MP970 and an MX710, when I installed the MX710 it disabled my ability to access the MP970 SCANNER from the Canon Solution Menu.
I have tried to re-install the drivers and the MP970 Solutions but even that only allows the scanner in the MX710?
IS there any way to use the scanners for both? AND what do I need to do.Hi bburtjr,
The MP970 and MX710 use two seperate versions of the Solution Menu, so I think what is happening is that it copied over your desktop shortcut with the latest version which nly shows the 710. If both versions of the Solution Menu are still on the computer, they should be accessible under your Start Menu if you are using Windows or your Applications Menu if you are on a Mac. Under the Start Menu you would go to All Programs and Canon Utilities and it should list two seperate versions of Solution Menu. The newwer version being for the 710 and the older being for the 970. On Mac, if you click Go from Finder, and click Applications, you should have the same Canon Utilities folder and the same applies as it does in Windows. You should have two versions of Solution Menu, one for each printer.

Since I upgraded to OS X 10.8 my Canon MP480 printer scanner prints OK but the Solutions Menu icon for scanning is crashing every time I try to scan. Any solutions?
I had to contact Canon Tech Support and had to re load the driver softwear using the OS X 10.7 choice, since the 10.8 choice is not there yet. Also had to download the opener and after 45 minutes I had solved the problem. The steps are too many to go into all the details but that is the genral idea. It should work for others.

A driver supporting solution menu ex is not installed
I have a CanoScan LiDE 210 that I've been using for the last two years at least. I recently used it about a week ago and had no issues with it. For some reason when I tried using it today through MP Navigator and Solution Menu it doesn't work. I get an error from Solution Menu where only the help features are available to be clicked and from MP Navigator it tells me that it cannot start. I have tried reinstallation and even the driver update available from your site. I'm not sure what the issue coudl be anymore. I know it can start and the bulb works fine because when I plut the usb in my computer recognizes it and for a short while the scanner will light up, but that is all.
I'd appreciate any and all help.Having searched this issue on the internet I now believe this is around for long time and still unresolved.I wonder how much responsible is a company like Canon in resolving this. A multibilion dollar comapany and iresponsive. I was thinking my next stop to be for a Canon multifuncion printer after my 18 years HP started showing problems but now I am very skeptical. Seen Canon as incompetent as this I have to think twice before I buy another Canon product. (so far I bough three Cannon scanners and this is a big problem for me. I guess Cannon will suggesst to call their technical support (for a fee likely) and this for what purpose? The fee will cost more than teh product an dif their techical people know the solution to tell me then why not fixing it in teh first place? For a problem that they know for long time and they do nothing to fix it they want to charge? Their error message says there is a driver not installed. OK Canon. Be more specific. YOur error message is ho help. It is simply useless. Tell me which driver is not installed and I'll do the rest.

I installed Canon Pixma MG5520 on win 7, since, always get "canon quick menu has stopped working" how do I fix please?
Hi thaluza,
We can see if there are files in a folder called TWAIN_32 other than those related to the printer that may be causing a conflict with the Quick Menu. If there are, we can temporarily remove the files to see if this will resolve the issue.
To move the non-Canon Twain files from the Twain_32 folder, please follow these steps:
1. Go to Computer / My Computer and locate the C: drive, then double-click on it to open.
2. Locate the WINDOWS folder, then double-click to open it.
3. Locate the TWAIN_32 folder, then double-click to open it.
4. Inside of the TWAIN_32 folder, you will see a folder for your printer as well as a WIATWAIN.DS file. If there are other files in that folder, you will want to move them to another location, preferably your Desktop by doing the following:
4-1. Click on each of the other items in the folder other than the the WIATWAIN.DS file and the folder for your printer to select them. You will want to hold the the CTRL key on your keyboard while selecting each of the items until all of the items except for the two referenced above are selected. Please be sure to leave the WIATWAIN.DS file and folder related to your printer inside of the TWAIN_32 folder.
4-2. With all of the items you want to move selected, please go to the EDIT menu and select the CUT option.
4-3. Go to your Desktop (main window that comes up when you start Windows with all of the icons on it) and right-click your mouse in any blank area, then choose the PASTE option. The items you selected from the TWAIN_32 folder should appear on the Desktop.
5. Try to launch the Quick Menu again.
Hope this helps!

Any solution to DVD drive issue post Lion install yet?
Any solution to DVD drive issue post Lion install yet?
Since installing Lion no DVDs are being read by the superdrive, this is a problem that has been highlighted by quite a lot of people.
CDs are being read fine.
After inserting the DVD there is some noise, sounds like it is trying to pickup the DVD then spits it back out.

Canon quick menu software does not recognize scanner for MG5520
Hi,
I have Canon Wireless Inkjet Photo All-In-One printer (MG5520). I have installed Canon complete software. But the quick menu does not recognize my scanner. In Preferences only Printer is listed, but for Scanner nothing is available. Could you please suggest how to get scanner as well for my device?
My OS is Windows 7.
Regards,
Sharath.Hi sharma_swp,
Reinstalling the drivers for the printer from the Canon USA website should provide the scanning option on the Quick Menu. Please click here to go to the Drivers and Software page for the PIXMA MG5520. Once on the initial download page for your model, please do the following:
1. Verify that the operating system detected in the "OPERATING SYSTEM" drop-down menu is correct, and if it is not, please click the drop-down menu to select your operating system.
2. Next, please click on the red arrow next to the "RECOMMENDED DOWNLOADS" section and click the FULL DRIVER AND SOFTWARE PACKAGE file. When you do, a red DOWNLOAD button will appear. Please click on the checkbox below the DOWNLOAD button, then click the red DOWNLOAD button to begin the download. The time for the download process may vary depending on the speed of your Internet connection and the size of the file being downloaded.
Once the file has been downloaded, please double-click on it to reinstall the drivers and software on your computer, then restart your computer. If you still have difficulty with the Quick Menu showing items related to scanning, please call or email us using one of the methods on the Contact Us page for further assistance.

[SOLVED] Make failing for Canon MG6400-series scanner driver
EDIT: ~~ Solution ~~ << Click this
Hello,
Been trying to install my scanner, Canon MG6450 (PSC, all-in-one), however no package in repository nor AUR so downloaded the tarball from Canon's website, ran the autogen.sh and make. The make keep failing, been scratching my head and searching for hours but so far no luck.
Running the autogen.sh seems flawless, then time for make... and errors. Full log of make:

Any suggestions on how to make progress it would be appriciated. Will keep on trying to find a solution.
Thanks in advance.
PS.
I'm fairly new to Arch, comming from a long history with Ubuntu.
Oh, and btw, it's just scanner drivers that fails - found printer ones at AUR. Scanner drivers up to MG6300-series are at the AUR.

Need driver for Canon Pixma ip 1600 running on Windows Seven 64 bit
Hello JayDee,
Canon does not provided a driver for the iP1600 that supports your current operating system. To install your printer on Windows 7 (x64), please follow the following steps below:
1. Click the Start button, Devices & Printers.
2. Click Add a printer.
3. In the Add Printer Wizard, select Add a local printer.
4. On the Choose a printer port page, make sure that the Use an existing port option button and the recommended printer port are selected, and then click Next.
5. On the Install the printer driver page, click Windows Update, and then wait while Windows downloads the available drivers.
6. Complete the additional steps in the wizard, and then click Finish.
The printer will be installed. Then you can download and install the Add-On Module for your Pixma iP1600 from our website.

I use an iMac with Yosemite OSI and an MG7520 printer. notice on my MG7500 series Quick Menu that the Print as well as Device setings and maintenance toolbars have no icons; they're blank. The Scan, Web services, and Manual and device information has icons.
Hi ppile,
You can install the My Printer application from the Canon USA website to see if this will resolve the issue. Please click here to go to the Drivers and Software page for the PIXMA MG7520. Once on the initial download page for your model, please do the following:
1. Verify that the operating system detected in the "OPERATING SYSTEM" drop-down menu is correct, and if it is not, please click the drop-down menu to select your operating system.
2. Next, please click on the red arrow next to the "SOFTWARE" section and click the MY PRINTER file. When you do, a red DOWNLOAD button will appear. Please click on the checkbox below the DOWNLOAD button, then click the red DOWNLOAD button to begin the download. The time for the download process may vary depending on the speed of your Internet connection and the size of the file being downloaded.
Once you have downloaded the file, please double-click on it to install it on your Mac.
Hope this helps!
