Canon t5i video apperature ring clicking noise

When I am in video mode and even some what in picture mode with my kit lens there is a very apparent and annoying clicking sound when zOoming lens in and out. I would think it is suppose to be very smooth and not so loud and mechanical. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a setting I do t have enabled? I have a sigma 10-20mm and it only does it in video mode and in picture mode it is very smooth. I put on my kit lens and I even noticed it in both photo and video functions. I am hoping this isn't a defective camera. Please help me out. I have adjusted it to all different appetsture settings and still this loud clicking noise with the appersture ring

Have you tried turning off image stabilization?

  • Clicking noise on the ring around Touch ID

When the display is on and a finger is put on the ring around touch id it makes a faint clicking noise. It has a higher frequency if just the edge of the ring is being touched than if the whole touch id surface is being covered. Really can only hear it if it is close to your ear.
here is what is sounds like:

    Hello there xxxRKxxx,
From the symptoms you provide and the way it sounds in the video example you provided, this really seems like a hardware issue to me and you may want to look into having someone take a look at it or send it in for service:
iPhone Other Repair Options - Apple Support
On the other hand, if you feel this is a software issue I would backup the phone to iTunes and then restore it as new to test if his happens on a fresh install with everything at factory default.
How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    All the best,

  • Hard Drive clicking noises on new 60 gb iPod w/ video

My problem is whenever the iPod needs to access the hard drive for information, such as whenever I hook it up to my computer to sync or when it reads an audio or video file for playback. the clicks are pretty quiet, about half the sound level of a wall clock 'tick tock', but I am concerned. I purchased it about 3 weeks ago, and when i got in the mail, it had this issue to begin with. This never seemed to have happened on my old 4th gen 20gb, or it happend so quietly that I did not noticed. Is this clicking normal noise normal? Do you think I should get an applecare plan for the iPod just in case it goes ker-plunk? I have an Apple Store about 40 mins from where I live, do you think it would be wise for me to go and have them check this out?

Don't worry, the harddrive 'click' noise is normal. Most people on this forum will usually respond saying that it is normal, some may say it is not though. My ipod does it and I've seen this on the forum before and people say it is normal. It's just accessing all of your information.
You don't need the applecare plan for this problem but I would get it just incase anything else were to happen. Read about the plan and see what it covers. I believe it covers the battery so if you plan on using your ipod for about 2 years I'd get the plan. If you're a technology buff who plans on getting the next new ipod that comes out, I would not get it.

  • 80g video ipod just displays apple logo and makes loud clicking noises

I've had my ipod 80g for a little over two years, with few incidents, and it's about 50 g full. When I most recently connected it to my computer, it started making these loud whirring and clicking noises and the apple logo is all that shows. I know the ipods can't be expected to last more than a few years (or so I'm told) so my question is what to do. Should I take it into the apple store and have the hard drive totally wiped of all my music, should I try some alternative fix (this strange business card opening the ipod technique, for instance?), or is there something else I should try? Is an ipod in this stage even salvagable? Thanks!

i had the same problem. i saw a great video on how to fix it and it worked for me.
the guy who posted it also offers free advice. check it out. good luck.

  • Creating a QuickTime movie with the new Canon T5i  camera in iMovie 9.0.9.

Help needed creating a QuickTime movie with the new Canon T5i  camera in iMovie 9.0.9.  The project is done and looks good...I need help understanding what settings need to be set so I can make a QuickTime movie in the highest quality that would fit the ratio of 16.9 to be sent out to my YouTube page.  I played around with some of the settings and have not come with the right setting for the video.  I want the highest quality with the lowest amount of megabytes…thanks

I would suggest using SHARE/EXPORT MOVIE and choose 1920x1080 (if your source material supports this).
That should work well in YouTube.
If you want to go further with custom QuickTime settings,  here are some that should work, but in my experience, it will be no better than using SHARE/EXPORT MOVIE.
follow the instructions below to create a .mov video that will work on YouTube:
In iMovie, select Share > Export Using QuickTime
Next, you may want to check your Options to verify that the following settings are correct:Video settings
    Compression Type: H.264
    Frame Rate: 30 is preferred. 23.98, 24, 25, 29.97 are also acceptable.
    Data Rate: Automatic
    Key Frames: Automatic
    Frame Reordering: Unchecked
    Audio/Sound settings
    Format: AAC
Click Show advanced settings and choose Constant Bit Rate as encoding strategy
    Other settings
Size: Choose the original size of the video
“Prepare for Internet Streaming”: Fast Start

  • Camera wont capture when Tethering Canon T5i in Lightroom 4.4. Tried with and without card.

I just unboxed a Canon T5i (700D). I've been shooting with a T2i for the past three years tethered to LR4 with no problem. Now with the T5i, i connect the camera, set up a new tether session and LR detects the camera in the pop up bar, but the sections for Shutter Speed, Aperture, and ISO are blank. The capture button is able to be clicked, but the camera does not respond. When the shutter on the camera is pressed, also no response. I have tried this with and without the SD card. I have used three usb cable and two different computers. I have checked for updates and my firmware is current. The camera is set to manual mode in the on position NOT the video position and I am tethering to a Windows 7 computer. Please help!

You will need LR5 for that camera to be supported for direct tethered capture.  Or you can use the LR "Watched Folder" feature and use the EOS Utility or other tethering software packages.  Here is a list of some options - http://www.tethertools.com/plugging-in/software/

  • Powershot SX230 Clicking Noise

My Canon Powershot SX230 makes a continuous clicking noise, assuming its the continuous focus, but not sure.  You can also hear it when you are using the video in a quieter setting.  Is this normal or a defect?

I have had my camera for almost a year now and it has made the sound since I have had it.  It was bought new.  I just assumed it was "normal"........seems like maybe it is the continuous focus.  I called Canon in September when I realized you could hear it in videos.  They told me it probably was the continuous focus and you would be able to hear it in quiter settings, but if the sound should get louder to send it in to be checked out.  I called Canon again yesterday and talked with someone else and he said it could possibly be a lense issue, or just the way the camera is, not sure.  My pictures seem to come out correctly (I'm not a professional by any means).  Have you taken any photos with your cameras.....do they come out okay?  My daughter has a smaller, cheaper canon and her does the same thing, but not nearly as loud.  Since mine and the two of your cameras all do the same thing, maybe it is "normal" for this camera??  Regardless, due to the fact that my year is almost up, I am sending mine to Cannon to be looked at.  Please let me know if you find or hear anything else on this issue & how your photos come out.  Thanks!

  • HT1363 ipod making clicking noise and won't work

Ipod making clicking noise and won't work. Display see apple store. We live in a rural area so one is not close!

OK, I have the 30G w/video and it does that too. I've had it a year with no problems. My husband went on the treadmill with it a couple days ago and after a few songs it froze. I did the whole regime of toggling and pressing menu/select button, I put in on my Bose speaker/charger and it switched to very low battery warning. When I took it off to move to computer it said to connect to computer and use restore (in a few languages). I connected and it recognized it and I did restore and after a few minutes screen came up saying it could NOT restore. Then ipod was unrecognized and then ipod screen gave me the very sad little ipod picture with the support web site. At that point it began making the clicking nose - morris code does describe it but I was invisioning a little nano sprite in there with a chisel!!So, same as you, I go there and it's like a maze trying to find help!! Of course my warranty was up exactly 6 weeks ago!! I tried linking through all the stuff like finding a service provider in my area, contact the "knowledge base" etc., and I can't get anyone! Now what are we gonna do?

  • My 2012 MacBook Pro fell and it now makes a clicking noise and shows a grey screen on startup. I'm afraid the hard drive is damaged. Is their anyway to still back up my hard drive even if it doesn't turn on all the way?

So my late 2012 MacBook Pro was sitting on my desk when the desk collapsed. The computer fell with it and I was quite scared at the moment, but thankfully I opened it up and it worked perfectly fine again.
I was later watching a YouTube video and pressed the back button. The screen then froze, and I could not force quit safari. Then this weird clicking noise started to happen. It was coming from the right of the trackpad. That's when I decided to force shutdown the computer with the power button.
I let it sit and then decided to turn it back on. The clicking noise then came back and there was just a blank screen on the boot up. Eventually a grey folder with a question mark started flashing on the screen. That was all it did so I decided to turn it off again.
I'm going to take it into the Apple store ASAP, but I'm curious if my hard drive is damaged and if I will need a new one, which would erase everything on my Mac. So I was wondering if there is anyway to back up the hard driver even if it doesn't boot up all the way, or turn on the computer all the way.
P.S. I have never backed up my hard drive so I wouldn't know what to do.

You may have damaged the HDD which is located in that spot. I would take it in for service.

  • Canon Gl2 Video Camera Not Recognized with Firewire 800 Connection

I have a late 2010 mac with 2.93 Ghz Intel Core i7 Processor with 12GB DDR3 running 10.8.2 OSX.  I have a Canon GL2 video camcorder with a MiniDV tape I am trying to download to my computer.  I am using a new 4pin to 9pin Rocketfish Firewire 800 cable. My computer is not recognizing the firewire input from the GL2.  As suggested with other support threads, I have tried to turn the mac and computer off and on, as well as check to see if the cable is working.  I have also tried both a trial version of Final Cut, and Imovie 09 which is loaded on my Mac, neither of which will recognize the camera.  I clicked on the System Information icon and looked at the Firewire 800 status which was:
    FireWire Bus:
Warning: Unable to list FireWire devices.
Maximum Speed: Up to 800 Mb/sec
At least I know it recognized something.  I have also checked to make sure the Canon is set to DV-Out on the Menu.  Since I am unable to use a USB connector with MiniDV, would there be any other way to either A) Download the video to the computer, or B) get the Mac to recognize the source plugged into the Firewire?   Any help with this would be excellent.

I believe that in order to be recognized, you have to start the process from within iMovie of Final Cut; as for your FW port, you can try these two different troubleshooting steps (may or may not work, but won't hurt):
    Reset SMC:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
    PRAM:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379
It may that your FW port is defective; it that turns out to be the problem, I hope you purchased Applecare because those ports are an integral part of the logic board, so that would have to be replaced ($$$).
Since your footage is on DV tapes, you do need the FW to transfer it or it will not work. One other (involved) way would be to transfer your footage to a DVD if you have a DVD recorder and then get it on the Mac from there.

  • My hd makes clicking noises...

I just got the 30GB iPod video yesterday and I noticed at the start and finish of a video, and occasionally while playing music, the HD makes quite obvious clicking noises. The reason I'm worried is because I though HD's only make the noise of starting up, no clicking noises. Is this a problem? And one more question, how do I tell if it is a 5G or a 5.5G? Or are they both the same?

if you bought it yesterday it is almost surely the newer version. one easy way to tell is check if you have the search function. if you do, it's the new version. another way is to cross-check the serial number, but i don't know how to do this. the clicking is normal. it is your hard drive updating temporary memory. it is more prevalent while viewing the videos because they take up so much more data than songs.
