Canopus ADVC300-Is there anyway to use this converter with PE 13?

I recently upgraded to PE 13. It would not recognize the Firewire-connected Canopus ADVC300 as a capture device. A tecchie at Adobe told me that they removed this option (through the DVD Camcorder menu) in Version 13, which only allows WDM captures. I still have PE8, which, I suppose, I could use to input via the Canopus, as long as PE13 will read the project files. Any other suggestions to get PE13 to input the Canopus video converter? The ADVC300 cost me $300!!

In your earlier posts (orig & #3) above you mentioned that you have PE8 & PE10 --still installed-- which do capture via firewire (from the Canopus unit) you essentially already have everything need. Why mess around with any of the work-arounds offered by Adobe.
I too have PE10 and I have been very successfully using an earlier Canopus unit (ADVC100) for many years.
All you need to do is use the PE10 to capture your analog videos.
Then you can literally abandon the .prel (and all other PE10 created files. The only file(s) you need to keep are the .avi files.
Launch PE13 and copy/move/import the .avi files from the PE10 asset folder to the PE13 asset folder.
All of the recommend work-arounds will create .avi files --they too would have to be copied/moved/imported into PE13 the same way. The .avi files from PE10 are the same as those created by the work-arounds.
It is truly unfortunate that Adobe removed the firewire support in PE13.

If you install LabVIEW 2013 and FieldPoint driver 6.1, you should be able to add a cFP-1808 to your LabVIEW project. Did you reinstall drivers after upgrading to 2013? If you don't do this, cFP support won't be added to LabVIEW. Are you getting another error or warning when trying to recognize the target from LabVIEW?

That may mean the iPod was previously used with a Mac, so it needs to be reformatted so that a Windows PC can access it. That's what a Restore does.
If you do a Restore, the iPod will be erased. If what I said about previous use with a Mac is correct, you really won't be able to use your Windows PC to access the iPod, until a Restore is done to reformat the iPod's storage. And if you do a Restore, the iPod is erased. If you have access to a Mac, you may be able to do something. Please post back...

I do not know if it's relevant or not, but I got a message on my ipad while on safari saying that my iPhone has a virus. I looked it up and it seems it might have just been an ad from the website I was on, but it happened around the same time YouTube stopped working.

You will find that using the YouTube app will provide a better viewing experience for YouTube videos.

It's great to hear that you are either considering or have already applied and been approved for a My Best Buy credit card! It is my understanding that you would have one opportunity immediately after being approved for the credit card online to use it. Outside of this browser session, I believe you would need to wait for the arrival of the physical card. Sadly, this means if you apply and are approved in store, you would not be able to use the card online until you receive it.

If you can't update via wifi, you can use a friend's computer, or an Apple store will do it for you.
If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.1. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.
Tip - If connected to your computer, you may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily. Then download and install the iOS update. Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update. After you update an iPad (except iPad 1) to iOS 6.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).

Hey there Fabian,
If I understand correctly you are going to Settings > Mail, Contacts, and Calendars > Add Account but that last option is not usable because it is gray. In testing this for you, I was able to reproduce this by enabling Restrictions and denying Account Changes. You can configure that with this article:

As major software releases go iOS 7 is amazing? Many requests for support found on these boards are solved via advice related to How To Do Something. Many times the advice is right out of the User Documentation provided by Apple. If someone were to compare the number of critical issues reflected across these posts vs. most other major releases from any major vendor ...iOS 7 is excellent.

Why would you repurchase songs simply because they will not sync? Sorry, that's beyond illogical, it's simply not smart.
