CanoScan 9000F Mark II: HP or Dell what graphics card etc are needed to use the 9000F?
My computer is not up to snuff to handle the 9000F scanner. I am shopping for an HP or Dell unit. What should I look for in the details to be able to select one that is adequate or better. Sometimes a graphics card is indicated and I don't know which can do what though I know the one I have can't do it. What about processors an i5 or i7 intel can do it I think?. What hard drive capacity is required or recommended? I am not a techie but would like to be able to purchase something that will get the job done. I shall be scanning many slides, negs and photos. Reader 7 and higher should be able to fill out forms and submit if the pdf format allows Reader 7 to fill out the form. However, without problems is a different issue. Submission of forms via email is ALWAYS a problem. It is always better to post the form on a website and have the form filled out on the web and have the data stored or sent to a database for further action.

Ah, I should add, the Blu ray player's support site (for Cyberlink) suggested a pile of different drivers - 30 or 40, but didn't offer any specifics regarding my particular system. What I really need to know is what would be the best option for my particular system.

I use RoboHelp HTML 6 & 8 for developing online manuals for our government business. We are currently exploring eLearning options for our training needs, and I am considering the idea of implementing Captivate features (PP slides, simulations, animations) directly into the manuals. We would not need the collaborative/review aspects of Captivate, so I believe we wouldn't need to purchase Adobe Air additionally. However, would anyone be willing to give me the lowdown on what additional software either I would need as a developer, or end-users would need (Adobe Flash, I assume) if we decided on Captivate? Would we need addtional software (Connect Pro/ LMS) to publish the Captivate content?
I have conducted an extensive online search and explored the forum threads with some success, but there is a lot of convoluted information out there!

Speaking as one who regularly combines Captivate and RoboHelp...
Unless you really want some functionality that Captivate alone simply does not provide, you really shouldn't need any additional software whatsoever. You record the eLearning bits in Captivate, then you use that content in your RoboHelp projects.
Are you seeking to host things in a Learning Management System (LMS)? If so, you probably should abandon the thought of RoboHelp, as it serves a bit of the functionality the LMS would provide.
Note that AIR is a functionality similar to the Flash Player or the PDF Reader. It is free for the taking by the end user. There is nothing one would need to purchase. Now if you want to *AUTHOR* something in AIR, that's a different story. RoboHelp HTML version 8 will produce an AIRHelp output. But it sounds to me that you may be somewhat unfamiliar with what AIR gives you. So here's the skinny.
If you were to produce AIRHelp output from RoboHelp, you end up with a .AIR file that each of your end users must *INSTALL* just as they would have to install an application. That's just to view the help. Prior to installing your AIR output, they would also need to first *INSTALL* the AIR viewer. So if they had no AIR capability whatsoever, they would need to perform two different installs. One of the AIR runtime, and a second of your AIR output. Additionally, creating the AIR output will also require a digital certificate. Now RoboHelp will allow you to create one, but it's an untrusted certificate and the end user will be forced to acknowledge whether they wish to continue installing with an untrusted certificate.
Anyhoo, hopefully that helps you with at least some of what you were looking for.

Planing to upgrade to Photoshop CS6 what graphics card do I need?

Saw some recommendation on an Adobe BLOG and wanted to see how my system stacked up so I added My Syatem in to where it fit. Cost me $2,500 from Dell Outlet but I had my Display, Printer, Wacom Tablet and camera gear from before.
My Nvidia Quadro 4000 display adapter is intended more for Video for applications like Adobe Premier Pro then Games. So I downloaded Cinebench to see how well it stacked up the their sample systems.
I also played with the Heaven GPU Benchmark from using low quality 1920x1080 to insane quality all bell. Then lower 16:9 resolution and 4:3 setting all displayed full screen 1920x1080. Here are the scores and frame rates produced: For settings used low score 191 high 1103

the speaker of my iphone sometimes works and sometimes it doesn't. it happens w/some APPS. I can hear a phone call wisth the speakers but not a video of you tube, itunes, etc. Does anyone know how can this be fixed?

Newbie: What version of WL is needed to use the experimental WL plugins?
I've successfully installed and connected to 10.3.5 on jrockit r28, but am having trouble with 10.3.2 on r28. The WLDFDiagnosticVolume property is not available on the managed nodes, for example. I'm able to connect to 10.3.2 and see the JRockit JMX counters just fine, but I'm looking for the WebLogic WLDF JDBC counters in particular. They're not there. Is there a workaround for different versions of WL?
And for kickers, my JR Mission Control installation seems to have developed some bit-rust, too. I was able to run "Help\Install Plug-ins... (Unsupported)" once and installed all sorts of stuff. Now, however, it won't work. It complains there are no features on the selected site and tells me to choose another one.

We do not have any similar properties for WLS10.3.2 as JFR (JRockit Flight Recording) is not integrated with WebLogic WLDF framework before WLS10.3.2
The property and the features that use this property are all only introduced in WLS10.3.3, i.e., this property or a similar property will not be useful (not required) in WLS10.3.2 as no collection will use it
Also, in-order to use JRockitR28.0 for releases older than WLS10.3.3, i.e., WLS10.3.2, WLS9.2MP4 etc.., we would need to apply patch#9884941
Please do understand that applying this patch is to only fix a few WLS known product issues with JRockitR28 only. This patch will not introduce the WLDF integration features with JFR (WLDFDiagnosticVolume will still not be available with this patch). WLDF integration with JFR is a new feature that is only available from WLS10.3.3.
Again, this is only required if you want to run WLS10.3.2 using JRockitR28.x
Regarding the plug-ins, I have personally not tried it.
But, it looks like you have installed all the plug-ins that were available on that experimental site. I believe that you might not have any further plug-ins that are available there for you to install.

I too agree with the points Mylenium stated. We have discussed about multiple computers (desktop & laptop), but people don't like the mess it would cause in terms of file syncronization etc. And it would also mean double effort for the IT to maintain all the software updates etc. in that many computers. We do work quite a lot in meetings etc. and work and collaborate directly with using these programs. So it would mean double work to first make notes in a meeting and then do work in another computer according to the notes. So the decision of using a good laptop is not random but thought.
Our current laptops were selected in the CS2 era and they have survived well updates up to CS4. I haven't yet tested what CS5.5 would do in terms of performance and usability. The idea of changing and configuring a computer every year according to the latest models and software requirements does not sound good. That's why I stated the point that the computer to be selected should survive at least a few CS updates.
SSDs. I don't see them pricely at all. We've changed SSDs to the current laptops and they increased their lifetime by at least two years. Incredible increase in speed! I really do recommend SSDs and would not even consider using mechanical drives anymore. In general I don't see the price of the laptop as problem -- it costs a lot more to configure and install the computer than the price of the computer. And if the computer is slow and/or needs to be changed often to a new model, it costs even more in lost employee performance.

2. You can also check AirPort Utility 6.3.1 for Mac. It supports 10.7.5+, 10.8.3+ or 10.9+.

The loading bar at the bottom of my Firefox browser has suddenly disappeared and I want to reinstall or reactivate it. How do I do this please and what is this bar called? I use the latest version of Firefox 3.6.3 and Windows XP. I have many add ons and I usually automatically install the recommended updates. The specs state it has onboard (integrated graphics).
If you are sure it is just the graphics that is kaput (you would know that if you hear Windows boot up and the logon music sounds or something) then...
I would get a used Dell Radeon HD 2400 on eBay which should work just fine for you, but you will need to have a monitor with a DVI connection and a DVI cable.

Instead of getting a wireless card for the Mac Pro, you might want to consider getting an 802.11ac wireless bridge device that would enable you to connect more than one device to it by Ethernet cable and to eventually take advantage of the faster 802.11ac wireless standard.

Just thought that I'd report that I've decided on my solution.
It seems that just making do with what I can find on the US store is the easiest and perhaps also the best way of going about it. All other methods mean trouble. I'm lucky that China hasn't outright blocked the US store, as they HAVE blocked iTunes music store in China already (something about a song about Tibet caused them to block the store entirely).
So yeah, just going to deal with it I guess. I should be grateful I'm getting anything at all, considering the country I'm in. Still, I just feel so ripped off sometimes when I pay for expensive devices and I can't even get much out of them do to my region. iPhones cost around $700 in China because there's no company like AT&T that you can just sign a contract with to get one, so you have to pay up-front for the phone, and get less features out of it in the end. Makes buying smart phones look like a waste of time and money sometimes, since you can't use the device to do what it was built to do due to censorship and not having any content for your region (though they do have a lot of Chinese apps that I can't use due to not knowing Chinese).
