Can accept incoming calls but cannot make outgoing...
So I've been in this one skype group for a few months, and everything's been fine up until this point. What's happening is that I try to call the group, which I've never had a problem doing, but it just keeps calling and calling and no one receives it. I can't end the call either, I have to wait until it finishes "trying" to call. I can receive incoming calls with no problem though.
I've also been having a small problem every now and then where I lag out of a call, and I know this has nothing to do with my internet because everything else is working perfectly fine.
I have Windows 7, do not have the latest version of skype because I don't like it at all... And I know that can't be the problem because the older skype's been working fine for years. I'm not sure what could be causing this problem now, but if anyone could suggest something I can do to fix it (without updating skype), I'd be really grateful.Posted: Nov 25, 2010 5:17 PM
If your facetime does not work and you don't see the facetime button when you try to initiate a call try texting yourself. Sometimes your phone company has deactivated your text messaging when you hook up your new Iphone 4. Phone them and get it reactivated and it will work. You need three things to activate facetime. 1. Cell phone service (naturally) 2. connection to a router (wifi) and 3. text messaging that works. A text message is sent to complete the connection.
Have a great day and enjoy facetime.

Cant accept incoming video calls
each time someone video calls me when I'm on my desk top, it won't let me accept. it shows up for a second then says i missed a call. any suggestions?
Hi,
I see that I missed the important bit about it being "accept triggered Remotely" rather than Auto Accept.
I know just enough AppleScript to create Away Messages on Accept and set Available on Chat end.
Accept
using terms from application "iChat"
on av chat started
set status to away
set status message to "In Conference . . ."
end av chat started
end using terms from
Chat Ended
using terms from application "iChat"
on av chat ended
set status to available
set status message to "I was Busy but Now I am Not"
end av chat ended
end using terms from
As to taking the response/input from a Remote device and linking that with an "Accept" instruction in iChat is a bit beyond me.
However there is a Forum here in Apple Discussions that deals with AppleScript Here
The Full path to that forum is this Apple.com > Support > Discussions > Mac OS X Technologies > AppleScript (Where it reads "Discussions in the Index Page).

Iam a new user of the iphone 4s. When the screen is locked, its on silence. How can you change that so when it's on lock, you still can hear if a call or message
is coming in? I cant always be looking at my screen, so it would be nice if I can hear itWhat do you mean "out of warranty"? Warranty is for a year right? Or am I out of warranty because the phone cracked? I'm a noob...
I'm still covered I think. I got the phone in December. -
Ebay App update on 3GS UK stops incoming calls
Hi,
I thought i'd post my findings.
I had an Ebay App update 2 days ago and without realising a connection with the update my 3GS started going a bit haywire.
This maybe a one off bug with the update and my personal setting on my phone.
The first problem i noticed was the battery level started to be eratic (50% to 20% then 40%)
Next day after full charge my phone lasted about 4-5 hrs before totally flat with no calls being made. (i thought it just didn't charge properly over night)
Later on that night i re-charged it and since then the phone is running pretty warm. (could be another fault and nothing to do with the App)
The next problem was i found out it would not receive calls (everything else working normally even outgoing calls apart from running warm)
After exhausting the net on iphone forums i finally went into itunes and clicked restore. After about 15-20 mins it was restored to factory.
The iphone was working perfectly and running cold again so i decided to sync back so i was back to where i was before restoring (all contacts and apps etc)
To my horror the phone would not receive calls (straight to voice mail) with this in mind i knew it was something i had loaded on to the phone.
Realising that the Ebay App was the last thing i put on, so i decided to delete the App and the phone works perfectly again. Reload Ebay app with update and it stops incoming calls again!
How can an Ebay App or any other App stop your phone from doing the basic thing like accepting incoming calls.
Like i said this might be freak happening with my phone and the combination of things i have on my phone but be aware that this can happen.
My 3GS is only 3 weeks old and is factory unlocked and its on Orange network.
Hope this helps somebody out there, but i was worried that my 3GS had turned into a £500 ipod

Message was edited by: slipdogBefore I came to the conclusion that the eBay app is the problem, I disabled all the connections (WiFi, Bluetooth and 3G), then I reset the network settings that didn't change anything. I was about to erase everything on my phone just before I read this page and thank Goodness! The moment the eBay app was gone everything went smooth. I still get calls when the WiFi is on and even though it uses the battery it doesn't drain it like when the eBay app is installed. I reinstalled the eBay app and all the problems went back... I took it off, everything went back to normal. Now I just go to eBay.com instead of using the app.

Cant reply to incoming call with text while on phone
Before IOS7 I could reply to an incoming call while on a call with a text " Cant talk right now I will call you later". With IOS7 that is not an option. I spoke with Apple tech support they said it was a Verizon issue. That Verizon has to update their system to be compatible with the update. I spoke with people who have iphone 5's with AT&T and Sprint and the have the same issue. This was a really nice feature and I wish it was someway to get it back. Can somebody help
I am not happy that they removed this feature either. Unfortunately, Apple seems to be changing many things for the worse since Steve Jobs is gone. User friendliness was a big priority to him, and this being one of those and also being efficient and possibly safer in the case that you may be on the phone and driving. You could, with one touch, let your second caller know that you were busy or you would call them back...this is not one of Apple's best decisions by far

when I accept a incoming call face time says connecting but it cannot connect. Pls help me.
A slow Internet connection in between both parties is a typical reason for the connection taking "forever".

My iphone 5C touch wont works some times , mostly during incoming call i cant take the call or some times password inputs wont works.
Greetings naseem770,
It sounds as if you are having an intermittent issue with touchscreen response on your iPhone. I would suggest that you troubleshoot using the steps in this article -

CALLER ID not working for International incoming calls
Hi,
I've a strange issue where CALLER ID not working for International incoming calls, it shows INTERNATIONAL UNKNOWN NUMBER in the phone display, but the number shows correclty in Verizon Call assistant !!!
Any clue?yashshankar wrote:
Hi
I recently purschased an Online number but the caller id does not work for incoming calls. How do we resolve this problem?.

Yash
You didn't mention what country your Online Number is in. Not all of Skype's Online Numbers are eligible for use as Caller ID when calling telephones or sending SMS messages. If your number is from one of these countries (Chile, Denmark, Estonia, Hong Kong, Poland, Sweden, the UK and the US), then it can be used this way. Otherwise, you can use a mobile number from countries other than Japan or Mexico as Caller ID with Skype, after the number goes through a verification process where Skype sends SMS messages with codes to that number.
To get to these settings, log into your Skype account here on the Skype web site using the "Account" link at the top of this page. You'll see a screen that would include your current Caller ID settings, and a link to change that. If your Online Number is from one of those countries I referenced above, just select it and you're done.
Hope that helps!

How do I get FaceTime for Mac to stop ringing after answering an incoming call on my iPhone?
I have iPhone Cellular Calls enabled for iPhone and FaceTime and am able to make and receive calls splendidly with FaceTime. However, when I answer an incoming call on my iPhone, FaceTime will not stop ringing. This is a significant, loud, annoying issue for me, my caller, and everyone in my house. It rings for eternity, long after the call has ended, until the call notification on my Mac is either accepted or declined. FaceTime needs to know when the call is answered on another device and stop ringing. Is there any solution for this?
This works for me:
To turn off Phone Calling on your iPad or iPod Touch, go to FaceTime under Settings and switch off iPhone Cellular Calls. On your Mac, open the FaceTime app, then go to Preferences under FaceTime, and tap Settings. From there, switch off the iPhone Cellular Calls option.
Found it here:http://www.pocket-lint.com/news/131449-why-s-my-mac-taking-my-iphone-calls-how-t o-turn-off-apple-continuity
I realise it doesn't quite solve the issue of FaceTime "knowing" whether the call has already been answered on another device, which I agree is a flaw. But in my case, I don't want to receive regular phone calls on my Mac at any time. Only the very rare FaceTime call. So turning off cellular calls is a solution of sorts. -
ISDN E1 PRI incoming calls busy out after 2nd b channel picks up
I have an ISDN E1 PRI line coming in from the Telco. D Channel comes up nicely and B channels accept calls, but only the first two calls. Once two callers are online, any further incoming calls get a busy tone. ISDN Debug data reports:
**ERROR**: call_incoming: Remote Protocol Error: No b channel assigned by switch, call id 0xCE
Hardware I'm using? Cisco 2650, 12.3(7T) and NM-HDV, VWIC-2MFT-E1-DI
Anybody please help?Problem sorted - believe it or not, it was the telco. They changed their switch setting for the line to preferrable B channel - and voila!
Thanks,
Brian
