Cant access 192.168.1.1

I've been having error 322 come up, and i have spent time with on Live Chat with Tech Support trying to figure out what the F is going on. I cannot access 192.168.1.1 in IE. Which has disabled me from reconfiguring. My gateway IP is 71.231.48.1, and i was told that it needs to be 192.168.1.1. I sure could use an easy answer, between my PS3 and this router, i'm ready to throw em all out.

Check the ip address you are getting on the computer which is connected to the router...Click Start >> All Programs >> Accessories >> Command Prompt...A black box will appear(Command Prompt)...In the Command Prompt window type ipconfig and press 'Enter'...Look for Ethernet Adapter Local Area Connection IP Address , Subnet Mask and Default Gateway...
IP Address should be 192.168.1.x, Subnet Mask : 255.255.255.0, Default Gateway : 192.168.1.1 (assuming your router is 192.168.1.1)...If you get the above mentioned IP Address, Subnet and Gateway Address then you should ping the Gateway, type ping 192.168.1.1 and press Enter...If it gives you request timed out then disable any firewalls, security softwares on the computer...
If you get 4 replies,Adjusting Browser Settings : Open an IE, click Tools >> Internet Options, then delete all files, cookies, history, forms...Goto "Connections", make sure Never Dial a Connection is checked, click on LAN Settings and make sure all the options are unchecked...Once you are done click on O.k...Close the IE and re-open it...

  • Unable to access 192.168.1.1

I've been trying for several days to get it to work. Every time I try to access 192.168.1.1, my browser shows the "page cannot be displayed" message. I have checked to make sure that my firewall settings allow this page to show up but it hasn't helped any. Thanks for any advice

Assuming you have Windows XP and assuming you have unplugged, re-plugged your router:
    1) Start > Run > type: CMD <ok>
    2) type: ipconfig /release <enter>
    3) type: ipconfig /renew <enter>
If it show that it obtained an new ip address, then your router is the "Default Gateway" (GW) address.  Try connecting to that address with your browser.
If you get an error that you can't obtain an IP address, then there is something wrong with your connection.  Could be the cable, network card, browser settings, etc.  Start swapping: new cable...if no, use Firefox to connect to the GW, if no...try a different PC/Laptop.

I am pretty sure it doesn't work with Firefox.
I have been getting the same problem as you with Internet Explorer. "The adress is valid but will not connect" kind of error.
Having to reboot the whole router (messing 2-3 other connections) to adjust some settings is quite frustrating, I know.
Let me know if you find what causes this and how to solve it

  • Cannot access 192.168.1.1

I have tried on my wireless and wired computers. I still can't get access. "timed out" message.
Note the following. I did upgrade the Firmware not too long ago. I can surf the internet on both computers. I have a WRT54G Router.
    Here is my ipconfig information:
    Ethernet adapter Wireless Network Connection:
    Connection-specific DNS Suffix : domain_not_set.invalid
    IP address : 192.168.1.100
    Subnet Mask : 255.255.255.0
    Default Gateway : 192.168.1.1
If you need more info, please let me know.
Note also that when I disable my firewalls, I still get the same "timed out" message. Also note that when I upgraded the firmware, I don't remember resetting the router, if that has anything to do with it..Thanks!Message Edited by Volodya on 02-06-200706:12 AM

Some times a hard reset will fix this problem.  Have you tried pressing and holding the reset button for 30 seconds?  I know Linksys documentation says 10 seconds but 30 seems more the norm.

  • I cannot access 192.168.1.1

    Hi,
This is my first post, so please be kind if the post is not placed in the right location.
My home gateway / vivid wireless "4G" account is a few years old, but it seems that the speed is getting slow more often, which is quite frustrating.
Looking on the forum, it is recommended to have a look at RSSI and CINR parameters, so I tried to logon to 192.168.I.I as recommended, but got a fail -1 error when entering logon details.
    I followed The instructions of 192.168.l.l | 192.168.1.1
    Can you please help?
    Thanks.

Hi webdangol223. First of all, it would be best if you can tell us the model number of your device. It is not clear if you do have a Linksys router because you mentioned about "4G". Anyway, if you do have a Linksys one and you are unable to access its setup page through 192.168.1.1, you may have to check from your Command prompt whether it really has that IP address as sometimed they get changed during the setup. Once confirmed and since you are unable to access the page through that, your last option will be to reset the unit to the default settings. Once done, access the setup page again.
To do the proper reset, please press the reset button on the router for 30 seconds, release the button and unplug the unit. Replug and try to access again.
    Hope the above helps.

  • Trying to upgrade my wireless routers firmware, but can't access 192.168.1.1 page..

Hey. Im trying to upgrade my wireless router's firmware after I noticed I could not access Nintendos Wifi for the DS. I figured that was the problem since my firmware is out of date I believe. I need some help, but so far nothing has worked trying to access that page.

I'm guessing a lot has changed (to your PC) since you purchased the router. Your other options are:
    - empty cookies and temporary internet files, close and reopen IE
    - restart both router and PC
    - reset the router
    - use another PC (preferably with IE6)

  • Cannot log into 192.168.1.1

Hey, a couple months ago i decided to move my pc and go wireless. Originally had a netgear wich techsupport so helfully destroyed. I returned it and got a linksys wrt54gs v6. I worked great but for some reason i had to reboot my computer ever night to connect to it. I tried to fix this by clicking secure easy setup, and this is where everything goes downhill. After i started, i decided i didnt feel like bothering so i clicked cancle, and my network goes down. Nothing could even find a signal. I updated my firmware, (i think i may have used an incorrect version, but later i changed to the right one). Finally I get it back up and running after rebooting and channel changing and whatnot. But after several hours, the router decides to no longer let me access 192.168.1.1, from any computer. In adition, when this happens, it is nearly impossible to connect to the router from a wireless device. But once you are connected it works flawlessly. I decided to by a wrt54g and be done with the problem. unfortunately, right out of the box this does the same thing. So im back to using my wrt54gs, please help!!!!!!

Hi Jake, are you using any security mechanisms (WEP, WPA or WPA2)? If yes, try to disable it and work with MAC filtering for a wile. Try to update your box with the last firmware. Do the same thing with your WiFi driver inside your computer.

  • Can't Access Router Settings via 192.168.2.1

I have recently changed modem/routers as my connection speed was increased recently and the old modem wasn't up to the task... The previous modem/router was preconfigured and I did nothing to it, however the new one requires settings be fixed by accessing it via a browser at 192.168.2.1
When the technician came to check my line and set up the new modem, we encountered a strange situation. Despite being connected by Ethernet cable, my machine could not access the IP address reserved for the router.
The reply is: "Safari can’t connect to the server.
Safari can’t open the page “http://192.168.2.1/” because Safari can’t connect to the server “192.168.2.1”."
We tried Firefox and the same happened.
I have deactivated my firewall, rebooted, changed cables, restarted the router, got Safari to pretend to be Explorer, got the neighbor's dog to bark at it, everything except make a blood pact with the devil, and the two browsers on my machine think that 192.168.2.1 is an external address- which it isn't, and of course fails to connect.
The technician used his laptop to configure the thing, so I can access the internet (obviously) but I must find out why I can't access the router/modem's settings, if only to find some logical reason for this illogical behavior.
I've tried looking this issue up, and I get lots of bad wiring, wireless connection, windows proprietary shenanigans, but none that explain my situation.
I'd appreciate it if someone could help me make sense of this.
    My setup:
Computer Model Name: Power Mac G4 (AGP graphics)
    Model Identifier: PowerMac3,1
    Processor Name: PowerPC G4 (3.3)
    Processor Speed: 1.35 GHz
    Number Of CPUs: 1
L2 Cache (per CPU): 256 KB
L3 Cache (per CPU): 2 MB
    Memory: 832 MB
    Bus Speed: 100 MHz
    Boot ROM Version: 4.2.8f1
    Sales Order Number: M7827LL/A
    Router: "2-Wire Gateway"

Your advice did the job quite nicely and it seems this is the "natural way of things," but I was totally unaware of it since my previous modems were preconfigured and I never had to muck about with subnets and such things.
What irks me is that this is basic, bare bones information that the Tech support people should have given me right off the bat. Why do they assume I have all the right numbers input into the Ethernet or PPPoE settings? They seemed totally perplexed that I couldn't connect, and frankly so was I- since my old Mac, as decrepit as it is, is still able to kick it with the modern way of things better than most computers I work with.
If they had asked me if I had set the right IP's in the right slots, it could have been fixed in 2 minutes.
Thank you very much for solving my problem, it saves me a lot of stress and confusion.

  • Can't access three routers through 192.168.1.1, Not address of router. HELP?

Long story here, and I am baffled...
My parents were initially connected to a broadband connection through a wired BEFSX41 router.  After moving the computers to another room had major connectivity issues.  Tried to access router through 192.168.1.1 and could not.  Ran ipconfig and found address to be 76.180.104.1.  Tried reset, power cycles, release and renew, could not get it to go back to 192.168.1.1.  Brought a WRT54G I had over,  had normal results for a brief period(10 seconds tops) then again, same ip address and connectivity issues.  After this I brought both routers home, connected them to my laptop, but not my network, inspected the configurations and updated firmware, with no issues.  So to narrow down issues I brought the WRT54G to my sisters house.  She runs a WRT160N.  Before changing anything I accessed 160N through webpage, checked settings and verified ip through ipconfig to be 192.168.1.1.  All ok.  Replaced her 160N with 54G and had wrong ip address again, also 76.180.104.1, so I decided router was somehow damaged/corrupted.  This is where this story turns really crappy for me.  When I reconnected the 160N,  the ip address was 192.168.1.1 for 15 seconds, then in ipconfig two ip addresses were shown suddenly.  They were 76.180.96.1 and 192.168.1.1.  Ran ipconfig again and got only 76.180.96.1, and now I can no longer access router.
My sister talked to a knowledgeable guy she knows before I hooked it to her computer and he surmised a Google redirect virus which I did sign on to.  But now it seems the 54G router has transferred this virus/issue to my sisters computer, which then uploaded it to her 160N.  Judging by the time delay when initially connecting 54G, I think maybe this virus is somehow corrupting routers?  Does this sound possible to anyone?  And if so, what are my options to save the routers, and not have to re-image computer drives?  Anyone with any knowledge, please help, cause the idea of having to re-image three computers is killing me.  Also I did not leave any of the routers with the original password.  Thank you in advance for your help.

Good. The symptoms you saw (computer gets public IP address) is most commonly because you connect one of the LAN ports of the router to your modem. That way the computer can talk directly to the modem and gets a public IP address.
Sometimes this can happen if the router crashes and won't boot up (often power light is blinking). In that case, the switch in the router won't separate the internet port from the LAN port again giving computers direct access to the modem.

  • Client returns server not found:rtmp://192.168.10.1:/live when accessed from another pc

Hi there. Please i have a small LAN of about 8 computers all of which are running windows 7. I have installed FMS and XAMPP webserver on one of the machines. I want to stream live from one PC to all the other PCs on the LAN. I have a webpage with jwplayer embedded in it on my XAMPP webserver that is able to see the live stream when i start it locally. I mean the live stream works fine on the machine with the servers on it. But when i want to view the live stream from another machine in the LAN by accessing the webpage that has the jwpalyer from another machine, The jwplayer returns "server not found:rtmp://192.168.10.1/live" error. I was thinking that maybe a firewall is blocking the 1935 port but i have turned off the firewall of every PC on the LAN. I have unistalled any antivirus program on all the PCs. But i still get the same error when i try to access the live stream from another PC on the LAN.
When i run netstat -a -n|find ":1935" i get  192.168.10.2:49184   192.168.10.1:1935     SYN_SENT and i think the request for the stream is sent but the conection is rejected.
This is the code for the webpage with jwplayer embedded in it. maybe it can help:

Thanks man. that is so helpful. But i doesn't solve the problem yet. I'll appreciate it a great deal if you could help me make the server accept requests from the 1935 port... And please tell me whether by server, u mean the FMS or the entire server on which the FMS is installed. I'm guessing it is the latter. Thanks in advance for your help

The security level for your inside interface should be 100 ie.

    2) I'm assuming you are trying to connect to 10.1.1.3 when you attempt the connection ?

  • Cant access to the integrated web browser RG60SE

Hi. I recently bought a RG60SE router. Following the instructions in the quick manual i tried to configure it, but i cant access to the integrated web based configuration utility. I tried access from three diferent pcs with same results. I tried to access connecting only the router and one PC, without ADSL modem, but not results.
I tried to reset, plug, unplug, power off, power on, the PC and the router, in many combinations, but i have zero results.
Im very frustrated, may be im doing something wrong?
I have a one desktop directly connected to ADSL modem:
    IP       192.168.1.2

    Gate   192.168.1.1

    Please, i need help,
