Cant access itunes store since beginning October...10.5 update tried everthing listed in forum

This seems to be an issue with many users.  Tried many things listed here and contacted support.  they arent able to help either.  Really frustrated.

Search for "iTunes" in Spotlight and make sure you don't have an outdated copy lying around, perhaps on a backup volume.

  • Accessing iTunes Store since 2.1 update

I have a minor but annoying bug going on since I updated to the 2.1. I will first say that I have never had any significant even moderately significant problems with ATV before. So this is not a big problem but here goes...
Ever since the new update whenever I click on a movie page like "ALL HD" the ATV first spends about 10 seconds on the "Accessing iTunes Store" spinning logo page. Then the page does load, but I never had this happen before. Before the page would load fairly quickly. It's even more annoying when I'm on that page, move to another menu item (say "Top Movies") and then back to the ALL HD page- even if I was only on the Top Movies page for a few seconds the ATV will still go to the "Accessing iTunes Store" thing.
Any thoughts? Anyone else experiencing this? Is this just their servers still being overtaxed? BTW I rented a movie last night and it started in about the same time as before update, so not sure what the issues is.

K-Man, this is not just you. I have a Gigabit wired network and get 7.5 MB/s from my internet provider so I have a big pipe and fast download speeds. This "Accessing Itunes Store" is directly linked to the update and has nothing to do with overhwlmed servers (IMO). I have 3 ATV's in the house and 2 I updated to the latest release...they are having the same issues as you described below. The third ATV I have not updated and it works perfectly and never gives me the message "Accessing iTunes Store" and simply pops the cover art under each category instantly. I will add that a new "bug" is that once my cover art pops under "my movies" on the old firmware, it stayed in place and was instant no matter if I went to You Tube, Music, etc. Under the newest release everytime I go to another category and come back it take a good 3 to 5 seconds to pop that same movie cover art. While this is not a "major" issue like you mentioned, I am pretty peeved as adding new functionality should never be at the cost of "breaking" something. I hope we get a patch to this new firmware in a few days...

    Hi Doomtrooper,
When you updated your iPhone 4S and iPad3 to iOS6, what exactly do you mean when you can't access the iTunes store? Have you checked your connection to the network?
Please be a little more specific

  • Have not been able to access Itunes store since 11 update (windows 7)

I'm not getting any error messages. Whenever I attempt to log in, it just continuously says "Accessing iTunes Store". I've re-installed it, made sure the firewalls aren't blocking it and it still isn't working. It's only been happening since I updated to iTunes 11.

This usually is caused by third party security software. It may have allowed the older version of iTunes connect but it now sees the newer version as different software and needs to allow access.

  • Can't access iTunes Store since Leopard upgrade!

I upgraded my G4 Powerbook to Leopard and now I can't get into the iTunes Store. I repaired my keychain, I don't have firewall or accelerator software, I didn't change anything except my OS. There is no problem with my ISP (I checked with another G4 running Tiger). When I try to get into the Store, the dialog bar will just keep running, saying that it is accessing the iTunes Store, but no go, and I don't get any error message.
    So... Any advice?

    Hi Timmy Y,
Can you explain further please ("directly connected")? I have EXACTLY the same problem, having this week bought a new MacBook, migrated everything over from my old 17" iMac, and found that everything works perfectly on the (new) wireless network except 1) downloading dotMac mail through Entourage, and 2) accessing my iTunes account.
I can browse music in the iTunes store but when I try to log in to my account to either buy, or authorize my new computer, I get the "Accessing iTunes Store..." message forever.
    Any tips greatly received!
    Thanks
    Jamie

  • Cant access iTunes Store on G4 running OSX Leopard

I can't access iTunes Store on G4 running OSX Leopard. It's telling me I need Safari 4.0.3 in order to have access to iTunes and I have the latest version.

    try if this helps:
download iTunes from here http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and run the installer over your existing installation.
you can also try to run the 10.5.8 combo updater (http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/macosx_updates/macosx1058comboupdate .html) to see if that fixes your issue. be sure to repair permissions prior to and after installing the combo.
when done, check software again for any updates offered.

    Hello lucy295
Continue your troubleshooting with the article below to get access to the iTunes Store.
Can't connect to the iTunes Store
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1368
Troubleshoot issues on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
If you haven't been able to connect to the iTunes Store:
Make sure your date, time, and time zone are correct in Settings > General > Date & Time.
Note: Time Zone may list another city in your time zone.
Make sure that your iOS software is up to date by tapping Settings > General > Software Update (iOS 5 or later) or connecting your iOS device to iTunes and clicking Check for Update on your device's Summary page.
Check and verify that you're in range of a Wi-Fi router or base station. If you're on a device with cellular service, make sure that cellular data is turned on from Settings > General > Cellular.
Note: If connected to cellular data, larger items may not download. You may need to connect to Wi-Fi to download apps, videos, and podcasts.
Make sure that you have an active Internet connection. You can check the user guide for your device for help with connecting to the Internet.
Make sure that other devices (portable computers, for example) are able to connect to the Wi-Fi network and access the Internet.
Try resetting (turning off and then on again) your Wi-Fi router.
If the issue persists, try troubleshooting your Wi-Fi networks and connections.
    Regards,
    -Norm G.

  • Cant access itunes store network

since i upgraded itunes, i can't access the itunes store. Help!

    Hi, all!
I had the same problem a couple of days ago, but it had nothing to do with the upgrade.
I got in touch with Apple Support, and they advised me to make sure my date and time were correctly set, that my firewall software was correctly set to allow iTunes, and to make sure that iTunes was a "trusted application" for my AV/Internet Security software.
I did all that, but nothing worked.
I then got back to them, and they advised me to completely uninstall iTunes and QuickTime, giving me extensive, detailed instructions on how to go about it.
I did that, rebooted, and re-installed the latest version of iTunes and QuickTime.  (I had also disabled the AV - Kaspersky PURE, by the way).  The installation seemed to go OK, and I duly rebooted as instructed.  I also disabled Windows Firewall and kept Kaspersky disabled while I tried starting up iTunes.  It started up, store login went OK, but the store was still blank.  I couldn't even see my iTunes Store account.
I then completely uninstalled Kaspersky, left Windows Firewall disabled, rebooted and tried iTunes again.  Still no good.
After much fiddling around, I found that I had another conflicting application on my machine:  it was a video accelerator from a company called SpeedBit.  Apparently it had been installed by RealPlayer, which I also use from time to time.
I uninstalled the SpeedBit Video Accelerator, and all other SpeedBit software, and, guess what?
    iTunes suddenly started working!
I re-installed Kaspersky PURE, re-enabled Windows Firewall, etc., and iTunes still works OK.
My conclusion:  iTunes is incompatible with any kind of video or download accelerators.
So, if you check the Support FAQ and follow all the instructions about Windows security settings, internet security and firewall settings, uninstalling and re-installing iTunes, etc., and it still doesn't work, also look on your machine for any other download accelerators, video accelerators, etc., get rid of them, and I think you might be OK.
    Hope this helps.
    Best regards to all
