Some websites are inaccesible. eg microsoft, trendmicro, adobe update, and many more
I noticed it first when I needed EFAT drivers from Microsoft.
I Could'nt access the site. Subsequently I have discovered other sites with similar problems.
two of my XP machines are exhibiting this problem. BUT one XP netbook is'nt.
my Linux Ubuntu 12.04 boxes are not affected.
The error I get is " Server not found at [insert url here] "
I can access google, ebay, facebook, my website, most other websites, both HTTP:// and HTTPS://
I cannot see what the difference between access and no access is.
My network is working fine and I can access these unobtainable websites using Linux running Firefox on this network but not on the XP machines with any web browser I have tried.
Its not AFICS a virus on the two machines.
I have isolated one machine from the network, and re-installed XP from CD, installed fresh Firefox, and while isolated from the rest of the intranet, connected to the internet Still problem exists.
I have tried different DNS servers,
I have changed the adsl router to a different manufacturers router and still the fault exists.
I am at my wits end here. Any help appreciated.

Before going further, would you please let me confirm if use the administrator account will encounter the same issue? Did you install any update or any other operations before issue occurred that you can remember?
Meanwhile, please navigate to those problematic folders, right click and select Properties. In Share tab, please check if the folder shared for the users correctly. In Security tab, please confirm related permissions again. Even if assign users
Full Control permission, will users sitll access deney? Please compare settings of the problematic folder with a good folder (which can be accessed), will you find any clues?
Please let me know the complete error message or provide a screenshot, it may help us to narrow down this issue.
By the way, when access the problems folder (such as picture folder), if type \\Server's IP address\picture instead of \\Servername\picture, please monitor the result.

Website wont load at home but does at work!

www.buoyweather.com wont load at home but does at my work! I cant figure this one out. It worked fine a week or so ago but since then it fails to load. I dont get an error message, it just sits there trying to load it. The next day at work it works fine. I have tried firefox, chrome, safari etc and still no luck. I havent blocked the website in my preferences either. Every other webssite seems to work fine.
Help!It definitely sounds like a router issue... especially if both your Mac and your phone can't access the same site when using the same router... but can access it elsewhere. My first thought would have been what JK was suggesting (a DNS issue)... but the direct IP address he provided would have worked if that were the case. The site you're going to isn't that common so it would be a pretty significant coincidence if that site were just randomly blocked for some reason. It seems more likely that the issue is related to the fact that you visit that site. Have you tried resetting your router?

Hi, I cant seem to find some of my older files in time machine. Says I dont have permission to view them. I recently had a new hard drive installed in my Mac and had all info restored to it then did a time machine back up onto my WD drive. Time machine window still seems to have the earlier dates and windows but I cant acces them. Anyone got any ideas how I can safely get them back? Thanks D

I am having problem in accessing http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/ (PubMed) I am an academic and I need to access this page very regularly. I can access from mu university but not from home it gives message "the page is not aviliable".
The second problem is that at my home I am not able to acesses Outlook express on my window based phone it gives me Error Code 80072EFD.

recently I have found that certain buttons on sites like facebook and others will not function when I am using firefox but if I use internet explorer those same buttons work fine. one example is the log out button in facebook. you can click on the command button all day but nothing happens. Hi Andis.
First of all, this is completely normal behavior, although it's a bit irritating, I know. What happens is that when you close Firefox, despite the window disappearing right there and then, Firefox keeps running for a little bit until the whole closing procedure is completed. This can take a fraction of a second on fast computers, or can take a few seconds on slow computers or when Firefox is storing a large session (if you save your tabs). All you have to do is wait a bit until Firefox closes, and then open it again.
To see if it's still running, you can press CTRL+SHIFT+ESC and then, under the Processes tab, you can see if firefox.exe is still there. If it's taking an unusual amount of time to close (which happens very rarely, and only if the browser freezes on exit), you can force the application to terminate from this application (task manager).
Firefox 4.0 will reduce by 97% the time it takes firefox.exe to close, so this problem will be basically erased for Firefox's next version.
Until then, I can recommend you this extension, which helps you restart your browser more easily and without bothering about closing times:

Anyconnect can only access some IP within a block
I have strange behaviour on the when connecting over Anyconnect to the ASA. I can access some of the cisco equipment on the network like the core switch on 10.2.15.254.

What Javier suggested was to create the NAT rule at the very top of the NAT rules. Notice the number "1" which defines the order number for the NAT rule. This makes sure that the NAT for the VPN is always checked first instead of the long list of Dynamic NATs.

It seem that while updating to Firefox 28 from 27, my computer was unplugged. After it restarted, Firefox seem fine, but no websites would load only on Firefox. I have tried removing Firefox completely, including registry files then re-installing. I added Firefox to my firewall and antivirus. i cant access firefox, everytime i try i get that windows can't find the file, i tried downloading it again but it still gave me the same message. the problem has nothign to do with my internet because it wonks on internet explorer and everythign is fine, my computer just can't access firefox for some reason. i tried uninstallign ti adn then installing it again, but that didnt work, i tried installing a different version and it still didnt work.
okay the exact message is" Windows cannot find 'C:\Program Files\Mozilla Forefox 4.0 Beta 1\firefox.exe'. make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click Search.
Nothing happens after i install is the "Launch Firefox now" checkbox set, the same message comes up.
i usually start firefox from the shortcut i have on my desktop but when this happened i thought that the shortcut is the problem, but i went to the Mozilla firefox folder and tried it from there, but it didnt work. i also tried downloading different versions of firefox but that didnt work either.can you tell me the solution to "windows cant find firefox" error. thanks.
