Cant activate imessage on ipod touch

hey guys, im really facing a weird problem, whenever i try to sign in with my apple id to activate imessage it jjust passes the first screen without giving any errors and when i click verify it just takes me back to the sign in screen, so i cant get imessage to work on my ipod touch 4, and i rly dont want to restore it

There is no way. Some users have said that restricting FaceTime also restricts Messages but I just tried that it Messes is still there.

Try disabling your computer's security software during the downloading and installation. I found that rebooting my router and modem helped too.

How can I get past the activate page on ipod touch?

I am trying to fix a ipod touch for an lady I know. she purchased this ipod for her 9 year old daughter and she set it up with her dad apparently using his email account. The daughter forgot her passcode so she wanted me to restore it which I did. Now I'm stuck at the activation page. After trying everything online I could find I called apple spport and spent 2 hours on the phone with them. After all this I was able to finally get logged into the dads apple id account which shows the daighters name and his email account that was used. Problem is that the 9 year old apparently set up the find my iphone setting and/or changed the apple id at some point to her [email protected] so when I get to the activation page it wants the apple id that the 9 year old used and she has forgotten it. If I try her dads email and id it says it cant be used to activate the ipod. I try to reset her password but the birthdate isn't going through and I've tried her real bday, her bday that she used on her facebook account, and her parents bday as well as several years up and down from it but can't get through. Any ideas on what can be done?

My son has an ipod Touch current generation that we have updated with ios5 and I have new iphone 4s. We are trying to get imessage to work so I can text him and he me on his ipod touch. He can text me via imessage fine, but when I respond, it goes to his email, not into the imessage app. it makes having a "conversation" a little challenging. we each have apple ids that we are using, but I can't seem to figure out how to stop the messages from going to email vs. the imessage app. thanks for any help.

Well, something might be wrong with my iPod. I added a contact to my iCal on the computer and check-marked the sync part in info. After I plugged my iPod to the computer it sure enough showed up on my iPod. However, when I try to add an event to my iPod it shows up twice for a split second with a red dot next to it then disappears. Can anyone suggest what might be wrong?

Alright, right after posting my question I figured it out. I plugged my iPod into one of the USB ports in the front of the MacPro and it worked like a charm. Now the problem is, what is wrong with the two ports in the back of my Apple Cinema HD screen? That I can't figure out clearly. The USB connection from it to the MacPro is connected.

Why wont imessage on ipod touch send messages to my iphone contacts?

I have bought my daughter an ipod touch - she wants to use the imessage function to send messages to me on my iphone. The ipod touch lets her type the message but whenever she tries to send it it comes up with a red exclamation mark and says message sending failed. On other occasions it removes her contact list, or the send button wont press. So far she has not managed to send one message.
Any ideas what we are doing wrong?

Well I recently updated to the ios5 for my iPod Touch 4G yesterday. I wanted to try out the iMessage but it keeps telling me "Could not sign in. Please check your network and try again." I'm in a wireless hotspot and have wi-fi connection. So why does it keep telling me this for iMessage.?

just bought second hand ipod touch and i cant get games onto it. not sure what generation it is but it is from 2006/2007 (date on box ) i restored it to factory settings but i still cant get games onto it, and it doesnt have app store to download games straight to it
if anyone can help that would be great
also asked the person i bought it off and he said there may be an update on itunes to download for around $5 but cannot find this
