Cant activate iPhone

My 5s is broken so I have get a new one. A friend will have the old one so I have restored it, but, I cant activate it, the phone (and iTunes) says that it cant reach the activation servers). The problem with the phone is that it has "lost" its modemfirware due to a drop (from 50 cm down on a soft plastic floor).
Is there any other way to activate it?

Why even bother to answer if your only reason to answer is that you find it incredible cool and fun to be rude!?
My question was if it is possible to activate (it starts up, it connects to wi-fi, sets the language, country etc.) an iPhone without the sim card reader? I´m not asking if it will be possible to use it as a phone, thats not the intention!

Erase the device by clicking the Erase button. This will erase all content and settings from the device. When prompted, do not enter a phone number or message. Click Next until the device is erased.
When the erase is complete, click "Remove from Account" to remove the device from the account.
After the device has been erased and removed from the account, you can proceed with the device setup process.
i forgot to erase the phone.i just removed it without erasing.

Cant activate iphone because of ''find my iphone''

Hello,
recently I broke my iPhone 5 so my father gave me his iPhone 4.
The problem is, that his iCloud account was registered to a non existent yahoo account.
(It was functional before, but he forgot the password and or the account probably got deleted)
Now I complety deleted everyhing on the phone via iTunes and I cant activate the iPhone because the ''search my iPhone'' option was active.
I cannot register with the apple id, because the yahoo email doesnt work and the password is forgotten.
The iphone is mine, i bought it years ago, but I do not have receipt.
How am I gonna activate the iPhone now?

He doesn't need to prove he bought the phone at this point. He couldn't do so without the receipt anyway. He needs to prove that he is the owner of the Apple Account that was used to activate Find my iPhone on the device, which turns on Activation lock.
IF you bought it directly from Apple, they may have a record of the original purchase, in which case they may reset it for you. That's a long shot, though.

Cant Activate iPhone, Sim problems.

I was excited about IOS 5 so after a while of failing attempts I managed to get it on my phone.
And now another problem I cant Activate my SIM card, I think the problem is with the SIM card itself since its an old one, and I had problems with it before, and wasnt using it. Since Im taking classes in a foreign country I just bought a crappy prepaid cellphone for comunication and used my Iphone as an Ipod and to manage my activities at school before instaling the new IOS. I cant get my hands on a new SIM card, since Im out of the country... :S
What can I do to activate my Iphone? I really need it for school.

Hi, i have setup my new iPhone 4 with an incorrect apple I.D. I thought it had activated but the email i put was .co.uk instead of .com. I then tried to erase all settings to try a clean install. It wouldn't let me because i needed to turn find my phone on or off in icloud settings, but i couldn't because the apple id wasn't activated. I then put phone into dfu mode, now when i try to activate it i cant because it knows the email address i set the phone up with.
what can i do now??

Send it back. That's the activation lock and it's a theft deterrant program. If the seller can't or won't give you that apple ID to unlock it, then you'll never be able to use it (and it's a very real possibility that the ipad wasn't theirs to sell in the first place)

Sorry it has taken so long for people to respond but this is a lot of data and it took time but basically it's a software issue what's happening is your service provider is making every attempt to contact your phone and your phone is basically not giving up any of the data like your udid or unique identifier. Their is no exact fix for this because I have only ever seen this issue 3 times and what it is best to do is connect to your computer and restore and set it up as a new phone then restore from backed up data. This is the only advice I can offer as this issue is so rare no one has one exact answer for it

I am experiencing the same issue and could use some advice:
Yesterday I plugged my Iphone 3GS into my computer and I selected in Itunes to update to the latest IOS 5.1.1.
Before I did this the iphone worked correctly, and after I did this it will not let me access the apps at all. I went to the Apple store and the rep told me I needed to have a working AT&T sim installed in it to complete the upgrade. I went to the AT&T store and had them put one of their working sim card in and it would not work. The AT&T rep said he has seen several people with Iphone 3GS who updated to the latest IOS 5.1.1 whos phones will not recognize the sim card and thus will not let you get to the apps.
Does anyone know how to correct this problem?
