CANT ACTIVATE WEB SERVICES

just bought a photosmart d110 when i try to activate web services on my printer it tells me to update and when i hit ok it tells me it cant connect to server

hello Fmu, hope you are doing well and welcome to the forum;
Hope you are doing great and to learn that you are having this issue.
Without having an understand of the configuration that you are using is virtually impossible you me or anybody else in the forum to properly assist you, I will suggest for you to read this post; POST and then please include as much information as possible to make it possible for others to actually have a chance to formulate a theory and provide you with suggestions.
There are some general steps that I can recommend to you in the mean time for you to try;
- Set an static IP Address for your printer, This should be done outside the DHCP range (the range that your router uses to automaticly assing leasses to the clients or devices connection to the network). You will have to do your research to see what is the procedure to accomplish this in your OS, Router and other peripheral in this case most probably your printer.
- Use Google public DNS Servers 8.8.8.8 and alternate 8.8.4.4 (the reason that I recommend this is because I have use them all the time and have not seem conflict of any kind)
- Make sure that your printer have the most current firmware and software available for them (remember most of the updates in firmware and software are to FIX ISSUES and sometimes are to add functionality).
- Make sure that your Operating system is updated (To a lesser extend this are also updated to FIX ISSUES although some times can create them as well, mostly they are update to patch security issues) it may be important.
The steps aforementioned will help establish that is not any of this circumstances creating the issue you are experiencing and is a more isolated issue. And if this is the case please post again with all relevant information please I reiterate this will give all visitor of the forum a good chance of the to understand and provide suggestions to you.

Can not activate Web Services

Hi all! I want to activate ePrint, but activating Web Services is not working at all. The server can't be found is the message I'm getting, both on my machine using the Web Services button and also when I'm logged in using my browser. The Wifi sign is giving a nice blue steady signal on the printer, and making the Wifi connection wiith my router was easy since it had a WPS button. According other topics I changed also to manual IP and changed the DNS servers, but still server not found. For example this topic is what I did, and what you also see in below images. Can somebody help please. I also included some pictures of settings.

Hi , Welcome to the HP Community!I hope you have a pleasant experience here. I'd like to help you with the web services connection errors you are getting on your HP Officejet Pro X476 dw printer. I can see based on the second picture you've uploaded that you are using the printer wirelessly? (If using it on a wired connection, you'll need to make the IP and DNS changes under Wired on the left hand side of the page in the screenshot) The DNS listed in the image is 8.8.8.8 and 8.4.4.4, the correct secondary DNS should actually be 8.8.4.4. I'm not entirely sure if this will make a difference for you, but I'd certainly recommend making the change and giving it a try. I'd also recommend trying a Level 3 DNS instead (since this is a commerical unit). Try 209.244.0.3 for the Primary DNS, and 209.244.0.1 as the Secondary DNS. Another suggestion I would make, would be to download and run the firmware update utility for your product to make sure that the firmware is up to date. It's very common to have issues connection to the web services server, when the firmware of your product is out of date. You can download the firmware update utility here: HP Officejet Pro X476dw Multifunction PrinterNOTE: Before you run the update utility, please make sure the printer is connected via USB. When running the update over wireless, you run the risk of interruptions during the update that may cause harm to the machine. I hope this helps!

I have several java files that I usually right click on to create J2EE web services. Today I cannot create web services for any of the files, as I receive a nullpointer exception. I checked that all classes in the project compile. Specifically, I have a [main] method in the PatientWS file for which I wish to create a web service, and the class runs just fine. Based on another post, it seems the problem is with web.xml. I have deleted web.xml and it continues to get re-created so maybe it is not it. Any help will be appreciated. Please let me know if there is any other information that I need to provide.

I got the issue resolved by deleting all deployment descriptors from the project and the web.xml.

Cant Call Web service Through OIM adapter

Hi, I am trying to call A web service using A Axis2 client in Java , but i get a error saying "input message for a required feild is null".
However if i try to use a non Axis2 client then it works fine ..
Please suggest any solutions?

I will suggest you first test your OIM adapter code into your IDE or WL server:
If you try using your Eclipse or JDeveloper can you call WS? Into JDeveloper you can tes using: Right click into WS class and 'Creating a WS Client' or just running a 'Test WebSevices' option. Just simulate using JDeveloper+OIM codes and libs it should work.
Right now I am doing this above and I am able to test my OIM WS code fine.
Another way is deploy your WS OIM code into WebLogic. Using WebLogic 'development mode' you should see two links: A service called 'Test Client' that you can test it and second one with just WSDL link.

Cant create Web services using netbeans 5.5

I tried lots of tutorials to create a simple web service but i couldn't make it to run.
I am using
IDE :NB 5.5.
App servers: SJSAS9 and Apache Tomcat 5.5.17
JDK 1.5 available
Apart from these do i have to use any other plug in.
i need to continue with this sample application.

Cant enable web services

Just out of the box, with my Photosmart 6520, I cannot connect to web services, even though the network sees my printer. Plus even though the download fails, it locks up the screen and escape out. Any ideas?

I understand you are getting unable to connect to server error message on your printer. I would first unplug router and printer for about 1 minute. I would plug router up first then printer. I would then try to enable web services. If not successful and you get same error message. I would follow these steps.
1. Obtain your printer's IP address
a. This can be done by pressing the wireless icon on printer.
2. Enter the printer's IP address in a browser.
3. Select the network tab at the top of the page.
4. On the left select networking.
5. Select Network Address (IP)
6. Select Manual DNS Server
a. Manual Preferred DNS should read 8.8.8.8
b. Alternate DNS Server should read. 8.8.4.4
7. Select apply you might get a warning just select okay.

Errors when trying to activate web service

Has anybody encountered an HTTP 500 error while trying to activate a webservice based on a business object from one of the SAP namespaces?
The error that I am getting is: HTTP 500 (InternalServerError) - Dump or unhandled exception in backend.

This was defect in the code while trying to include
Cross Bo associations in Read Operation.
This was fixed in FP26 with Hotfix HZEK001337.
This is not yet imported into VQ3.
Solution: Wait till VQ3 is supplied with this week's hotfixes
or try to generate service without Cross BO associations till hotfix
is imported into VQ3.

If that does not help, if you could provide me with the following information it would help me out. First, who is your ISP( Internet Service Provider, i.e. Comcast, AT&T, Verizon, ect.)? Second, who is the maker of your router? Lastly, what is the model number and firmware version of your router?

Web Services spontaneous turning off on Color LaserJet CM4540 MFP

We are using ePrint on four seperate Color LaserJet CM4540 Multifunction printers in a business environment where we elected to activate ePrint in order to allow wireless printing for our iPhone and iPad users. We were able to set it up and get it working, and for the most part it works great! Users testing the functionality are using the HP ePrint for Home and Biz app and so far they've reported no loss of formatting for the documents they are printing - but there is one problem:
So far two of the printers have dropped (turned off) Web Services for no apparent reason.
Administrative functioning on the machines is password protected so it isn't possible for one of the clients to just come in and turn off Webservices. Only IT team members have the access password. I don't believe that any of us are turning off web services, so the impression is that they are spontaneously deactivating.
Two other bits of relevant information:
1) I am able to easily re-activate web services and assign a new eprint email address to the printer...
2) I'm not able to reassign the first eprint email address to the printer because the HP ePrint website automatically places lost/disgarded email addresses on hold for 6 months to reduce the chance of people mistakenly sending documents to someone else's printer.
Therein lies the crux of the problem: because we are in a business user environment, every time I have to assign a new email address to the printer, I'm forced to update the documentation for the end users reflecting the addresses of the printers, and to inform the users who are already using the service of the new address.
I need to figure out a way to either 1) prevent the web service from shutting down, or 2) retain the same email address in the event that it does shut down, or both.
Any suggestions?

Frankly, i am not familier with the secondary DHCP structure of the device as i am more focused on consumer products, however the logic still remains the same... As long as DHCP can be maintaned, i cannot see any reason why the static IP will fail as the connectivity remain the same, therefore i would recommend you to disable the secondary DHCP in order to avoid any firewall blocks after forwarding the ports.
The port forwarding should be assigned from the router or the server, depanding on your network structure.
If you are using a more complex network envoirnment by using any server, VPN, switch, etc. you will need to contact your IT administrator to configure the port forwarding
However if you are using a simpler network , please let me know the router model, i will gladly try to assist you locating the steps for your envoirnment.

We are running 4.7 on WAS 6.20 .I heard ,if we have to activate webservices on WAS 6.20 it will expose all the RFCs and BAPIs as web services. Could you explain me what is the main difference between WAS6.20 and WAS6.40 in terms of creating web services and how do i activate web services.

Web Services for BW query - consuming in ADOBE FLEX

Hello Gurus,
Somehow, my client is not going ahead with BO Xcelsius dashboard solution due to budget problem so i am plannign to create some dashboard in ADOBE FLEX using web services. Do any one of u have implemented this kind of scenario? My intension is to go ahead with some good looking , better features which can be used as an alternative of Business Objects. I can see some tools like COGNOS, QLickview etc but I saw the look and features of ADOBE FLEX last week and tried explorin it.
1) You can either suggest alternative tool OR
2) if any one of you have used Web services to create ADOBE FLEX reports then let me know. I went thru some forums, blofgs and videos in SDN and came to know how to activate Web services in SAP BI side and got little idea. I didnt see anybody used ADOBE FLEX on the top of SAP BI query.

My new Deskjet Ink Adv printer 3525 , not able to activate web services and e print. I am getting error
message that printer not connected to internet.however the printer is in the net work. I am able to print from my lap top and ipad. I have registered in the e print website and not in a position to generate the code. The print out also indicated no connectivity to internet.

Lets ensure web services is enabled and you are albe to connect by following the below steps:
Enable/Disable Web Services on your printer
You need to enable web services on your printer to use web-connected features like ePrint, Print Apps, and Scheduled Print. If you skipped enabling web services during your initial setup of your device, or if you are having issues using web services, use the steps below to enable or remove and then re-enable web services. In some cases removing and re-enabling web services on your printer can resolve web services connectivity issues for your printer.
When you enable Web Services the Web Services info sheet with your printer’s claiming code should print within a few minutes. If the Web Services info sheet does not print, try removing and re-enabling Web Services. If it continues to not print, see the Web Services connectivity troubleshooting here.
Any time you remove web services your printer is removed from your HP ePrintCenter account (if you had added it there), and ePrint and Print App settings are cleared, including your printer's email address. After re-enabling web services you can re-add your printer to your HP ePrintCenter account and configure your ePrint settings and Print Apps, and select a custom email address. Note that you will have to choose a new custom email address if you enable/re-enable web services, your previous custom email address will be unavailable for up to 6 months. See here for info on creating an HP ePrintCenter account and adding your printer.

Depending on the model, the Enable or Remove Web Services options will be on:
The Setup>Wireless>Web Services menu option
The Setup>Web option, or via the ePrint/Web Services icon on the printer front panel display.
Photosmart eStation: Select the Menu button on the eStation display (to the right of the Home and Back buttons at the top left when the display is docked on the printer); Select Settings; Select "Web Services”; Select/de-select the “Web Services” checkbox.
Officejet
Enable: Select the Setup > Web Services Setup option to enable Web services. Ensure that both ePrint and Apps are turned ‘ON’ in Web Services setup
Remove: Use Setup > Web Services Setup > Restore Factory Settings to remove Web Services from the printer.
Laserjet
Enable:
Print a configuration page from your product, and locate the IP address.
At your computer, open a Web browser and type the product IP address into the address line. The HP Embedded Web Server opens.
Click the “HP Web Services” tab.
Select the option to enable Web Services.
When Web Services are enabled, ePrint information appears in the HP Embedded Web Server. Look for the e-mail address that is automatically assigned to the product. The product also prints an HP Web Services page that contains this e-mail address and instructions for using the service.
Remove:
Print a configuration page from your product, and locate the IP address.
At your computer, open a Web browser and type the product IP address into the address line. The HP Embedded Web Server opens.
Click the “HP Web Services” tab.
Select the option to disable Web Services. This will turn off ePrint and Print Apps for your printer
