CANT ACTIVATE
Recently I bought one used iphone 5 from singapore thinking it to be one factory unlocked. Actually it worked with the SIM of Bangkok(Thailand). But now it is found out that it is not working with the SIM card of my country (Bhutan). Whenever I insert the SIM it gives the message like- Activation required. I tried to reset the network and even restored it to factory setting. But it did not at all. Please guys help me out.

Not a good sign. Try forcing the phone into recovery mode & restoring it. If this fails, make an appointment at an Apple store:
Turn your phone off. Leave the USB cable connected to your computer, but NOT your phone, iTunes running, press & hold the home button while connecting the USB cable to your dock connector, continue holding the home button until you see “Connect to iTunes” on the screen. You may now release the home button. iTunes should now display that it has detected your phone in recovery mode, if not quit and reopen iTunes. I am experiencing the same issue and could use some advice:
Yesterday I plugged my Iphone 3GS into my computer and I selected in Itunes to update to the latest IOS 5.1.1.
Before I did this the iphone worked correctly, and after I did this it will not let me access the apps at all. I went to the Apple store and the rep told me I needed to have a working AT&T sim installed in it to complete the upgrade. I went to the AT&T store and had them put one of their working sim card in and it would not work. The AT&T rep said he has seen several people with Iphone 3GS who updated to the latest IOS 5.1.1 whos phones will not recognize the sim card and thus will not let you get to the apps.
Does anyone know how to correct this problem? -
hi.i bought an iphone 4s from my friend.connected to itunes to restore it for a fresh install.after restoring to ios7 i realised that activation lock is enabled.i called my friend and get his id and pass.itunes said pass is wrong and cant activate the phone.then i logged in my friends icloud account (icloud.com said pass is ok) with same password and i removed the phone from 'find my iphone' list.but i forgot to erase the phone before removing it.now itunes says ''this apple id cannot be used to activate this iphone''.when i log in to icloud i cant see the phone in 'find my iphone' list so cant erase it now.can you please advise me step by step how to activate this phone?

Make sure the device is powered on and connected to a Wi-Fi or cellular network. Then contact the previous owner and ask them to follow these steps:
Sign in to their iCloud account at www.icloud.com/find.
Select the device from their Find My iPhone device list by clicking All Devices at the top of the screen.
Erase the device by clicking the Erase button. This will erase all content and settings from the device. When prompted, do not enter a phone number or message. Click Next until the device is erased.
When the erase is complete, click "Remove from Account" to remove the device from the account.
After the device has been erased and removed from the account, you can proceed with the device setup process.

That usually means the phone was hacked or jailbroken to unlock the phone and when you update the phone it locked back up again.
Only way to resolve this issue, is to find out who the orignal carrier was and have them unlock it. If you bought this from a 3rd party contact the seller and have him/her unlock it for you by contacting the phone carrier. -

Take it back where you got and and get your money back.
As has been pointed out, if there was a "previous owner", the phone is not "new". Thephone you purchased is most likely stolen. If whoever you bought it from won't give you your money back, turn it over to the police. -

The Activation Lock is an Anti-theft protection that cannot be bypassed, not even Apple. If you cannot find the previous owner, turn it in to the police as it is likely to be stolen property.

Please help-I was just informed I cant activate my CS software through Adobe?!!! What a pisser-I lost my desktop to a virus, I got a new one and refuse to ever go online with it. I put @Photoshop in, it wants an authorization code that Adobe says "CS is too old so please go to our forum for help"... So I am here Ladies and Gentlemen. I really need help on how to reactivate my software and without the use of the internet (last time I tried online, ended up doing over the phone which is no longer offered...) that cost me several hundred to begin with-I am upset @Adobe won't activate it-why? Only you can activate your iPod by typing in your id and password, or you can remove a device from your account via http://icloud.com . If you can't remember your account id then do you have any of its downloads on your computer's iTunes : Recovering a forgotten iTunes Store account name ? If not then you could try http://iforgot.apple.com . Go to the iPhone
GO to Settings > Messages
Is the iPhone Number ticked to be enabled (It will be greyed out and not editable but should be On)
If it is Off (Unticked remove the Apple ID)
Place the iPhone in Airplane mode for a few minutes.
Go back to Settings Messages and make sure the Message app Is Enabled overall.
Check the iPhone Number is verifying.
When Completed test by sending an iMessage to your Apple ID (Mac)
If that works add back the Apple ID to the iPhone's Settings.
Restart the Mac App and Accept the op ups that appear as to what the iPhone is using.

Firing Up Web Sharing
Here’s how you turn your Mac into a low-budget Web site: Put the HTML documents, graphics, and files you want to publish into your Home → Sites folder. Every account’s Home folder has a Sites folder, and therefore the Mac can actually serve up lots of Web sites at once. Your Web site’s home page, by the way, won’t appear unless it’s named index.html. (Apple has already put an index.html document into your Sites folder, just to give you the idea; feel free to replace it.) And the other files you put in Sites aren’t accessible unless they’re linked from your index.html page.
Open System Preferences; click Sharing. Turn on the Web Sharing radio button.
Use the Sharing System Preferences pane to make designated folders on your hard drive available to anyone on your network. Note that your Mac’s IP address, shown here in underlined type, works only when people connect from across the local network. It probably won’t work from across the Internet; see the box on the facing page. You’ve just made the contents of your Sites folder available to anyone who connects to your Mac. Also note the line below the Computer Name box. That’s your Mac’s Bonjour name, which is a bit friendlier than its IP address. Send your network address to your friends and coworkers
People on your local office network can use your Mac’s Bonjour name to connect. It appears at the top of the Sharing pane, as shown in Figure 22-1. For example, your colleagues can type http:// office-mac.local/ ~ chris into their Web browsers, where office-mac.local is your Mac’s Bonjour name and chris is your short user name. If other people will be connecting from the Internet, you need to figure out your public IP address; as noted in the box on The IP Address Mess: Port Forwarding, that might be your router’s IP address, not your Mac’s. Your Mac Web site’s address might be, for example, http:// 111.222.3.44/ ~ chris/ (the number is your public IP address, and the name should be your short user name). Don’t forget the final slash. But if you have an Administrator account (Chapter 12), you can also put your Web pages into the main hard drive window’s Library → WebServer → Documents folder. This is your Mac’s main Web site folder, and its address is simply, for example, http:// 111.222.3.44/. That is, it’s just your public IP address, no user name needed. (Here again, if people will be connecting from across your office network, they can replace the IP number with your Mac’s Bonjour name.) Because you’re now working inside an official Mac OS X system folder, you must mind your permissions. That way, you can ensure that you’re in control of which visitors are allowed to do what with your Web documents. The Easiest Way to Distribute Files Here’s a handy secret: If there isn’t a document whose name is index.html in your Sites folder (or index.html.en in your Library → WebServer → Documents folder), then visitors see, in their browsers, a handy list of the files that are in that folder (see Figure 21-2). This is a terrific convenience: It offers a quick, simple way for you to make a bunch of documents available for downloading. All your visitors have to do is click one of these file names.
