  • After installing iTunes 7, cant import any music into my ipod

I made the mistake of installing iTunes 7. First it took about an hour of installing and reinstalling for the computer to recognize my ipod. Finally it did.
Now, when I try to add songs to my ipod, the song looks like its being imported and then...nothing.
I tried restoring my ipod to factory settings, it restored and now I have absolutely no music on my ipod and I cant add any music.
    Can someone help?

I'm having the same problem. I can't connect to the store -although I can force the software to update podcasts periodically. It does then put the updated podcasts on my iPod, so sometimes and in some ways, when it's in the mood, iTunes will communicate with my iPod. I can't rip music to iTunes and then sync it with my iPod. It looks like it's working... but nothing. However, the music is out there somewhere. iTunes knows about it, because I can play it through the computer, using iTunes as the software. But it won't move to the iPod and I haven't figured out a way to force this. And I have yet to see the store, in order to download new music.
I've checked the popup blockers, the firewall, and the routers. I've installed, deleted, reinstalled, tried to revert to iTunes 6 (but then it wouldn't let me see my library because that was "created" with 7)....
I'm VERY frustrated and I miss my music!

  • My ipod says cannot be synced, and it wont add any music

idk why but today i pluged it in to charge and it was fine then when i got home and pluged it in it says that my ipod cannot be synced so i un pluged it and pluged it back it and it keeps saying the same thing, and i cant add any new music to my ipod, has this happen to anyone else and if so what did you do

I am having the same problem. My declares that it is Uknown Error (-48). I don't know if that number would help, but I have about 30 gigs of music, and 20 gigs of videos on my 60-gig ipod and I don't have any of the stuff on my computer any more. Is there anyway to save it without losing my music?

  • Cant add new music after ios 5.0 update to iPhone4

Ill add music like i have been doing and the songs that i try to add just sit in the list grey like they would when you would first try to upload, but they never upload or even start to. All my old music still plays as far as i know, but i just cant add any new music. Is there something i need to set up in summary or something?

    Hi there PrincessF,
You may want to try force closing all open apps and resetting the device as an initial troubleshooting step. Take a look at the articles below for more information.

  • I upgraded to 10.5.0.142 on windows 7 and I can no longer add any music to my libraries

I upgraded to 10.5.0.142 on windows 7 and I can no longer add any music to my libaries.
It makes a notification sound, but there is no message, and it just doesn't do anything.
How frustrating. Considering apple make excellent products, iTunes is terrible.

I find a way to add music.
    Make sure iTunes is closed.
Go to the song file on your computer. If the file has the little black musical iTunes symbol as its icon, just double click the file. It should open up in iTunes and stay in you library.
If the little black musical iTunes symbol isn't next to the file, right click the file and go to "Open With" and then click on "iTunes". It should open up in iTunes and stay in your library.
Yeaaa its the long way but that's the only way for now, unfortunately.

  • My iPod 5 will not sync ANY music. All my music was on prior to syncing. The sync deleted all my music. I can now no longer add any music. I have the "sync music" checked. Restoring factory settings did not work. Any thoughts?

When you synced with iTunes It would have tried to replace the music on the iPhone with what is on the computer. which is what happens when you sync with iTunes.
If the songs are purchased you can re-downloaded them Pretty easily. You mentioned that you still see the songs and that you could not play them. Do they have a Cloud symbol next to them? If so this means that you can download them but that they are not on the device.

  • When i plug my headphones into my ipod touch 5 i cant hear any music i tried 2 different headphones what should i do

when i plug my headphones into my IPOD touch 5 i cant hear any music i tried 2 different headphones what should i do

Hey Ehlam Managua, You have tried a different set of headphones, still no joy-- OK. (1st step in trouble shooting completed). Just to be clear the sound still works through the speaker, correct? If so, try quickly plugging / unplugging the headphone jack about 12 times, there is a tiny switch inside the port that may be stuck closed. If so the plugging / unplugging should free it up. If still no joy, have you tried turning your iPod off then turn it back on? If that doesn't work go into Setting>General>Reset then tap Reset All Settings. If still no joy, connect with your computer, make a full set of backups from this iPod to your computer, then Restore to Backup. If still won't work, Restore to New. If still nothing, could be dealing with a hardware issue. Contact your Apple store and set up an appointment to have your iPod evaluated.

  • Cannot Add Any Music to iTunes Windows 8

I just got a brand new computer with Windows 8. I moved everything that was on my previous laptop to this one, including all of my music, books, and videos. I just downloaded the newest version of iTunes, and it will not add any music to my library. My library is always empty and has the buttons to go the the iTunes Store and/or Scan For Music. I cannot add any files to the library. After I click on the file that I want to add, nothing happens. I can't even transfer my previously purchased music from my iPad to my library. Again, nothing happens. The only thing I have been able to transfer were my books that were on my iPad. No music, no apps, no videos. This is my second day working on this problem. I have used iTunes for years and have always been able to find a solution. I have already uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes twice, selected myself as administrator on the computer, troubleshooted compatibility issues, and tried multiple diagnostic runs. If someone could help me find a way to fix this, I would be very grateful.
    Thanks in advance.

Use Windows to go to your folders and find one of the problem files.  Right-click it, and choose Open With > iTunes.  If the file is compatible with iTunes, it will be added to the library and start playing.  If nothing happens, the file is incompatible.

  • Cannot add any music on iPhone through iTunes

I cannot add any music to my iPhone through my iTunes.
I have the latest software on both, iPhone iOS 7.1.2, iTunes 11.4.
    On a Macbook Pro, 10.6.8.
I recently couldn't detect my iPhone on my iTunes whatsoever, so I updated the iOS (which meant I had to delete all my music on it to free space).
I've tried doing the managing syncing. I can add music (that's greyed out and actually isn't on my phone) through autofilling a playlist.
Any other suggestions as I have spent hours and hours on this, something that used to take no time is now killing me.
    Thanks

That's normal (that the music is grayed out). Click the EYEfone icon, then the Summary tab (along the top) - if you want to manually manage music, check the box. Else, click the Music tab (along the top, not in the list on the left), then select the box to sync music, and select playlists or All music, then click Sync.

  • My  itunes store is not showing up. I need help because i cant purchase any music

My Itunes store is not showing up. I cant purchase  any music

I tookyour suggestion and SUCCESS!  I can now access the Itunes Store.  A simple fix, and thanks so much!!.
Below is the advice you forwarded:
I found a solution to my problem.
    > start menu
    > accessories,
    > right click on the command prompt icon and choose "run as administrator".
Once it opens, type in the following command...
    netsh winsock reset
    hit enter
You should get a message that the winsock reset successful and you will need to reboot your computer.
Reboot and when I reloaded itunes the store loaded fine.
    Thanks again, -Dean Stoneburner

  • My iPod classic tries to sync evertime I add any music to it

I recently bought a new iPod classic 80 Gb. I have managed to transfer all the music I had on my old one to the new one but this took a while so I am reluctent to restore unless I have to. But that all worked fine.
I am set up to update manually, not sync. I have considerably less free space on my hard drive than my iPod has so syncing would not work for me.
It was all fine until I tried to add some music from my work computer. After transferring it came up at the top 'Syncing, do not disconnect'. I have left it like this for at least half a hour and nothing. I have a cancel button, but clicking it just causes i-tunes to freeze. I can try to eject the iPod, it asks if I am sure and then freezes anyway. I then have to force quit i-tunes. And after doing this the songs aren't actually on my iPod despite the fact they showed as there on iTunes.
This only happens when I try to put new music on my iPod, I can edit existing tracks fine.
I have now tried on 3 computers and the same thing so it must be an issue with the iPod.
Anyone have any ideas that don't involve me restoring the thing. I will do it if I have to, but would rather not have to sort out all my existing music again.

Buy the songs that your friend put on the iPod that you liked. They had no right to give you the copyrighted music when they sold you the device.

You have recently upgraded either your AIM, MSN/Live, Gtalk or Yahoo Messenger.
Remove the app you upgraded and your address book will be fine.
There's a glitch in the upgrade of which I understand RIM is aware of and working to fix.

    Correct.
Sharing requires that devices and computers be within range of your Wi-Fi network. Home in this case.
