Cant add anything to desk top since I changed to Firefox!!

When I clicked on the blue screen before I would get a big list of things to do, including add site to main menu or main screen. (I Forget the exact wording, )now cant do that anymore -all I can do is bookmark and that makes me go thru a whole long list to find the site. How do i put a site on main screen to choose it right away, I already have the ones from Explorer but cant add to them. Thanks! :)

I am not sure what to do to help sorry but for temporary you could disable your trackpad and use a mouse then atleast your Mac is useable you can fix it

I can not bookmark any page, nothing happens when I select bookmark this page. My old bookmarks are there and working, but cant add anything new. I have tried the suggestions in the troubleshooting section, and nothing there works. Please help.

I select "bookmarks", I select "bookmark this page" and nothing happens. Doesnt matter if I am in regular mode, or safe mode.

It's Shaunn, the original poster. Thanks for your posting. I'm glad I'm not the only one that's having this problem.
Now that you mention it, I'm having the exact same problem on Facebook as well, when I play Family Feud.
I wish someone would investigate and post a solution to this problem. No-one from Playlist has responded, and no-one "Officially" from Firefox either.
So Mariah, I appreciate you and your post.
If you find anything out...from anywhere...would you please let me know. You can post it right here and I'll get an email from Firefox.

Firefox won't "Open File..." to my hard drive/desk top since my OSX system update yesterday -- why?

Did an automated OSX system update and noticed after reboot that Firefox now won't "Open File..." or recognize any files (video, pdf, etc) on my computer! (Problem may not be related to update but suspicious timing!) Seems to play streaming video OK...
Checked/updated plugins from Firefox site and reinstalled Firefox without success -- issue remains. Safari recognizes all / will "Opens file..."
Any ideas how to fix? Thanks!

This can fix myriad Mail problems...
Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), it will try to repair your Disk Directory while the spinning radian is happening, so let it go, run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, then move these folder & file to the Desktop.
Move this Folder to the Desktop...
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/Mail/
Move this file to the Desktop...
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/Envelope Index
Reboot.
If that doesn't help & you can afford to redo any Mail Rules...
Trash these files...
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/... MessageRules.plist and MessageRules.plist.backup

On a 2012 server running IE 10 I cant Add anything to Trusted Sites, I get the below message. Any ideas?

As it looks (yellow bar at the bottom), there are Group Policies in effect, which limit, what you can change on the Trusted Sites dialog.
Either find that policy and change it, or move the server out of the influence of this group policy to do, what you want to do.
Another setting, which may have impact, is Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration, which you can disable in Server Manager.

Firefox works perfectly on my home computer except for one user's desk top where it says that Firefox is configured to a proxy server that will not establish a connection. I have tried restarting but I can not get Firefox to work on just one desk top.

I am running Windows Vista.

I cant add any new posts or change anything in iCal

I started to use my iCal a little while ago. First everything work just fine and I added some events and posts in my calender. After a day or two I relaesed that I could not add anything to my iCal.
I can see how a new post is added to the calender but after closing down and reopening again the post is gone. It is not even possible to take away anaything old.It will appere after reopening iCal again. It is like it is locked.

Why is my internet slow on my desk top

I am in the midst of changing servers- Wirless internet- previous ok,except kept blowing away on windy days - this one can not keep the speed up. The tech dude thinks something up with my desk top - since the pad can stream youtube a bit faster. All techs are PC so they actually are clueless.
The tech says something is putlling a lot of gigs, everytime he 'checks' in-surges basically of use.
Could it be the checking for updates?
I have a 2.7 ghz intel core 15, 4gb 13333mhz ddr3, Just added a airport extreme (used to use the computer as the base station) I ran a wifi diagnostic and it just looks like a bunch of #'s and words-- Don't know what to look for.
I really think it is the server- It drops to almost nothing in the evening and early AM and creeps up to DL1.30ish mbpl and UL .34-- My average with other was 1.50ish and .51-- If the wind was not blowing.
In the country in west Texas, so my choices of wireless are limited. And NO it is not hughes.
How do I eliminate my computer being the problem?
The wifi is hooked to the airport extreme- and it wifis to the desktop. and rest of house. We can' surf on the computer and the ipad's at the same time.
Apple TV downloads Youtube much slower than the Ipad- I was running them to gether to 'test'.
I can give configures if needed.

Don't know if you've updated to 10.8.4 yet (released 4 June) but improved wifi is among the various 'fixes'. Maybe worth updating to see if it brings any improvement.
If updating the OS doesn't help, here's a list of suggestions to try that have helped some users although, unfortunately, not everybody. In no particular order:
Check wifi security - if it's WEP change it to WPA or WPA2 (preferably, as it's more secure)
Change the wifi channel on the router
Create a new Network Location: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5289
Reboot the router

Adding a button for PDF pack to desk top

You can attach the audio to the Success caption of the button. Make the Success caption a transparent caption without text and it will be invisible to the user, but the audio will play when the button is clicked. Be warned though that stopping the audio from such an arrangement is not as easy.

Cant add P!nk to a playlist

I've noticed that I cant add anything from the P!nk artist to a playlist. Is it something to do with the '!' character in the title perhaps...??
Please dont judge me by by music library contents - my niece adds music to my device!

I'm not using any special characters in this example, but would expect the naming convention you suggest to also work (_abs_asynch). I get the problem with any abstract message. I set up a prototype software component and created dependencies to the SAP delivered Airline examples but got the same problems. I'm confident the problem doesn't lie in the interface definition or it's naming.
We are applying OSS note 883500, which by monitoring through Web Start seems to be a proposed fixed for the missing Interface Variable look up screen. I'll post more details when the patch has been applied.
