Cant add effects to text in Premiere CS6

Hey Guys,
I'm trying to add noise to some text in Premiere Pro 6 but no luck, I used CS5 before this and all was fine, I could just drag effects onto the text and all was fine.
Am I doing something wrong? Is it add effects to still, or default roll? Do things work differently in CS6?

By a combination of making a suitable graphic for the text, adding a black and white filter and adding the video noise filter. At least that's what it looks like from the picture in your web link.

Misaligned text in Premiere CS6

for some reason, two lines of centered text are never precisely centered in the Title window. as the image shows, the second line always sticks out a bit too far on the left of the text above it.
there are no extra spaces that might account for this, and the kerning is the same on both lines.
any advice appreciated.

Perhaps I am missing something because I don't see it.
I took that part of the image with the text into Photoshop. I drew a box on the left of the "T" in TAMMY and made sure it covered the "T" in TammyBruce.com as precisely as possible.
Then I picked up the box and set it next to the "E" in BRUCE. It covered the "m" in .com almost exactly. Certainly the difference was less that the eye can detect without a little help.
So, for this post , instead of moving the box, I copied it and set the opacity down in order to show you.
I admit that the shadows through off the measurement some, but I just don't see the problem you wrote about.

Cant add effect to clip in source window. The hand icon cant drop the effect has a bar sign.?

I load a clip into the source monitor and try to apply an effect to it.
The hand icon drags the effect over the selected source windows but does not drop the effect onto the clip. ?
How would I fix this?

Select the clip in the timeline - but don't double click.
Press the 'F' key - clip appears in source monitor
Drag effect to clip in source monitor
Adjust effect - this will be added to all instances of the master clip in the timeline.
It's all there in the help files.

What font are you using? Shadow effect can be applied to system fonts only.

How do I create an orange flash transition effect using Adobe Premiere CS6?

I am trying to create an orange flash transition effect using Adobe Premiere CS6 with my MAC computer.

Try this:
Add Cross Dissolve, cut and nest
Add a Fast Blur to the nest and tweak as in first screendump
Superimpose orange Color Matte and tweak as in second screendump
Make (fixed) effects into presets for future use.

Adobe After Effects CS6 and Premiere CS6 wont work on OS lion

I just bought a teacher Edition of Adobe Production Premium. I installed the softwares on my Mac which is running OS Lion 10.8.2. Everything works except Adobe After Effects CS6 and Adobe Premiere CS6. It always start up with the splash page then a pop up window opens that reads unexpected error occured send to apple.
I don't understand because Photoshop, illustrator and the other softwares worked fine.
I have tried uninstalling, re-installing, re-starting and even tried to download the After Effects CS6 and Premiere CS6 on creative cloud thinking that maybe those on the web will be more updated to address the issue.
But still I cant get it to work.

AE created text is jumping and not updating for no reason in Premiere CS6

Hello, I think I found a bug. Most likely has something to do with Dynamic Link. I am creating simple moving text in After Effects CS6, and bringing the compoistion over to Premiere CS6 timeline. Occasionally, the text jumps around, or the adjustments I just made to an AE comp don't get updated in Premiere. I moved all of the data from one hard drive to another, thinking it might be the hard drive. But the error still occurs. Makes it rather difficult to work. Any chance you all can solve this one? Kind of driving me crazy since this is clearly a software issue, not a user error. I've been using Adobe software for 10+ years.

Have you installed the recent updates? (If not, you should. They fix a lot of problems.) up to date

I co-edit video in Adobe Premiere CS 6 with footage H-264.
Video camera Sony NEX VG10, format MTS, AVCHD. I ' m working on laptop TOSHIBA QOSMIO X775 ( intel -core i5 ) with the system, Windows 7 - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560M GPU with Optimus.
Buying effect lens flares ( Quick Time Movie item type) , from EBAY, I have been on for many videos of me.
And on yesterday when was imported lens flares effect of myvideo in ADOBE PREMIERE CS6, its failed. Only audio can be imported.
Theres no effect. I try many times but still fail. None at all texts error. But if I click on the flares in MY VIDEO, its working, no problem at all...!
Only fail in Adobe. This was happened last year, I ve forgot how I fix it. (Installed Quick Time Movie software ?)
I ve installed Quick Time Movie yesterday , but there is absolutely no reaction.

Do I need After Effects to do chroma key or titles in Premiere CS6?

My question is pretty much as it appears in the thread title. I plan to make some very straightforward videos that will teach the viewer English. So we need beginning and ending credits/titles, plus subtitles in Japanese over our English audio. Also, we plan to use green-screen behind the teachers/hosts.
For any of this, is After Effects necessary? Or can it all be done easily in Premiere CS6?

AE might give you more possibilities, but it's not absolutely necessary to do this.

About a month ago I got the new Macbook Pro Retina 15-inch with the i7 and Nvidia GT 750M graphics card for work. It has 16gb RAM and a 500gb SSD. Im using it to edit on the go.
PROBLEM:
Ive installed latest Premiere Update 6.0.5 and latest CUDA drivers from NVidia but when I check the renderer settings in Premiere 6 it only shows Mercury playpack in software mode only. Ive read up on last years model being fixed by a recent update by Adobe and thought this might have sorted this version out too. ive also disabled switching in Energy saver mode to ensure it only selects the high spec card but that appears to do nothing.
Any support ideas welcome

Adobe Premiere CS6 'Create new Trimmed Project' Crash with .MXF files

Yesterday I started to back up all our students work, and found that the "Create New Trimmed Project" no longer works in CS6 with .MFX files.
Adobe Premiere CS6.0.3, crashes when I try to "Create New Trimmed Project" under "Project Manager"
This only happens when there are .MXF files in the Sequence.
As we use Panasonic P2 cameras at this university, this is a problem, as this is the format that they shoot in.
As a test I have made a Project with only one .MXF file placed on the sequence, and it crashes.
This happens on my Macs and Windows machines with Adobe Premiere CS6 .
Adobe Premiere CS5.5 works fine, and does not crash.
Unfortunately I cant save a CS6 project as a CS5.5
If you don't have any .MXF files to test this,
You can make your own .MXF files by exporting any video file as "MXF OP1a" or "P2 Movie" Format, (the Preset setting is irrelevant - any preset will cause it)
P.S.
Using "Collect files and Copy to new Location" under "Project Manager" works fine, but does not reduce project size as much.

That's not very specific, but in my case at least (and it sounds like in your case, too) .MXF may be another file type that cannot be trimmed. If I remember correctly, the answers I got from others was that they were able to export fine. My machine (and maybe yours) has an issue that nobody else seems to have encountered. So none of the prescribed remedies allowed me to move forward in this regard.
After much searching, asking and several suggestions from various Premiere communities, I gave up and moved on.
Use Remove Unused and then Collect Files and Copy to New Location. At least that can help you if you have a lot of clips. In my case, it didn't help much, because my very short clips were edited from very long takes, so as Premiere sees it, not much was "unused".
Be aware that "Project Manager does not copy and collect After Effects compositions that are dynamically linked to an Adobe Premiere Pro project. Project Manager does save the Dynamic Link clip in the trimmed project as an offline clip, however."
