Cant add music after synchronizing

Hi.
After iTunes updated itself a few days ago, I have not been able to add anything to the iPod. I did not really understand why until I attached it to my stationary computer(thought it was iTunes - Windows Vista problems, and the other computer runs XP) and got a "you iPod is synchronized with another iTunes library"-message. This is utterly ********. iTunes tried to synchronize with the iPod, but I turned it down. And now I can't add songs. iTunes at the stationary asks if I want to delete everything and synchronize it with the stationery's iTunes. But I don't want it synchronized with any iTunes. I just want to add my music to the player whenever i want.
Thats my status and problem. Here's the question:
Is it possible for me to fix this, without having to delete everything on the iPod. I don't want to add 30gb of music and find album pictures again. Thats just boring.
Help appreciated!

You can't "sync" that is automatically update an iPod from multiple libraries or computers. If you want to connect and use an iPod on more than one computer you need to change the update preference in the iPod Summary tab to "Manually manage music and videos" and click Apply. In this mode you can directly access the content of the iPod and play it through iTunes and you can drag and drop whatever you want to the iPod from either library:
Using iPod with Multiple computers
Managing content manually on iPod
iPod 101: Fill 'er Up
Something else to be aware of when using an iPod in manual mode is that the "Do Not Disconnect" message will remain on the display until you physically eject the device. In that case use Safely Remove Hardware icon in the Windows system tray on your desktop or check this link: Safely Disconnect IPod

First of all, try another port on your computer. Some ports are not connected direct to the motherboard and do not recognize the iPod as well as those that are. Reset the iPod each time you connect it to another port.

If it is a lightning to 30 pin adaptor, and you have a 7th Generation Nano it has to fit the Nano.
This is lightning to 30 pin adapter: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Apple%26%23174%3B---Lightning-to-30-Pin-Adapter/6651 936.p?id=1218803450821&skuId=6651936#tab=overview
    Is this what you bought?
You need to contact Sony and see if they model you have is compatible with the docking adapter. It may not be.

  • Cant add music to my ZEN V plus HE

i have this problem. when ever i jet in my USB to my computer, a window that say view files/play music/bah bah bah? does not pop out... meaning i cant open my vplus to add music... i only have this problem with my this com... wheres another computer whenever i jet in it will appear a dock sign on my MP3...therefore do not have any problems adding music.
so do i need to install a special programm or something?

I had a similar problem. Seemed to be a prog registry conflict beteen Creative's software. So I: unistalled everything Creative. Restarted and defragged the comp.. Then I Ran the CD that came with my ZEN Player and only installed the Media Explorer and ran a firmware check on the player, plus got the Plays for Sure reinstalled off the Creative site that matched my player. Goodluck.

  • Only adds music after 'Ipod Reset Utility' - No choice in what is selected

    Hey all,
To add to the masses of problems.
On my second Shuffle 2gig (replaced first one because of this problem)
I can only add music to it after using the ipod reset utility.
When going back into iTunes it works fine, except for the fact I have no say in what goes on nor what order.
If I want to add or delete music afterwards I get the infamous "Cannot sync 'Ipods name' as required disc cannot be found"
I've tried everything on the forum, except for unplugging mouse as I don't have it plugged into a USB port.
I've tried the ipod on all ports available.
It's starting to get extremely tedious.
    Thanks a bunch

OK, did the SMU resets- more then once because the first time I plugged everything back in and the iPod reset didn't work; an additional time, with nothing but the iPod plugged in, it seems to have worked. I say seems because it's blinking orange and I'm worried about unmounting/disconnecting it to try to play it- the last time I thought I had fixed it, it was doing this...
Oh, and I'm running 1.0.3 software- thankfully,I had kept the old reset software...
I'm going to wait a bit and see if the blinking stops. Maybe it's just recharging, but I've barely played it, so it seems unlikely it needs much, if any charging.
Not to be looking a gift horse in the mouth, but since the first reset, including after the two subsequent resets, the fan has become noisy- isn't this supposed to stop a noisy fan, not make it noisy?
    oy.

  • I cant add music

after i reformatted my computer my ipod could still connect to my computer but i couldnt play in my ipod and i couldnt add music to my ipod. i tryed using ipod updater but it didnt work. can somebody please help me?

When it's connected do you see your songs in iTunes as grey text and with a lock symbol at the bottom of the screen? If so your iPod is set to "automatically update songs and playlists". . If you want to access your iPod directly, play it through your iTunes, connect it to a second computer etc. you just need to change the update method to "Manually manage songs and Playlists" in the iPod preferences. For more detail see this tutorial: Managing Your Songs Manually

  • Ios 7.1 iphone4s update means i cant add music to my phone!

Since updating to ios 7.1 i can no longer add music to my iphone.
I plug it in and it starts syncing then gets stuck on step 5 - waiting for changes to be applied (even though there are none)
when i try to drag and drop music by going on phone - add to.. etc nothing happens.  sometiomes they appear but greyed outr as if they are waiting to transfer onto the phone but nothing happens.  This is really starting to annoy the heck out of me.  i did have a similar problem a couple of weeks ago and must've restored my phone to a previous version.  then i downloaded the ios 7.1 update again by mistake...
    it truly *****!!
any help would be greatly appreciated.

I believe that iOS 7 requires iTunes 11. You may need to update your iTunes file.

  • Cant add music files to iTunes

Hi there. I have iTunes version 9.0.2.25 and unable to add music files to the existing list. I recently formatted my computer for a fresh start (which I have done previously with no iTunes issue), re-added the folder I have all my music in for iTunes but the new files won't add. It adds the 443 music files that I had on iTunes prior to formatting my computer but won't add any new single files when I use File -> Add file etc. as I did originally before the format.
I have googled the issue and there are a lot of people with the same problem but the forums have no answers.
Could somebody please help me with this problem as it is on my iPhone 3G which is an integral part of my work and public time.
    Regards
    Ross

I'm having the problem of not being able to add any of my files/folders. And **** will freeze over before i do CDs again. Everytime I upgrade iTunes I have this problem. And I only upgrade when I get a new computer. I can import a CD, but I can't import files or folders from my hard drive.

  • I cant add music videos to itunes library of itunes version 10.7

I am using itunes version 10.7. I am unable to add music videos into Itunes library. The Movies section remains blank when i select a music video and add it to library.

Why you open a new thread for questions which where answered already 100 times...and do nou use the search option???
    But quickly:
    1. The IPOD Video needs the right video format
    2. There a dozends of 3rd party SW solutions available to convert almost every format into the IPOD Video compatible format - some of them are freeware - use e.g. Google to find some.
    One could be here: http://www.videora.com/en-us/Converter/iPod/

    hey there lindseyroyal!
I have an article for you that can help you troubleshoot the issues you are seeing in iTunes with Windows 8. The article is for Windows Vista and 7, but the steps still apply in Windows 8. That article can be found right here:
