Cant Attach Iphoto Photos into Email?

I always was able to simply attach iphoto photos into an email when I wanted to send a photo to somebody.  Id just click Attach..Then my photos would show up..Id choose one and be done.
However, I just opened IPhoto and it said I needed to update something in order to see my photos.
As soon as I did that, I am no longer to see  my photos when I try to attach one to an email.  I select Attack but then I just see "Iphoto" but it doesnt open up to show my events, folders and individual folders.
Does anyone know why or do I have to change some kind of setting?
At first it said to open iphoto but I did that and it still is not showing my photos.
I am using LION OS

Make a temporary, backup copy (select the library and type Command+D) and  apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Since only one option can be run at a time start with Option #1, followed by #3 and then #4.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

  • Hi, I am user iPad and I do not know how can attach a file into email e.g. CV.  Thanks

    Hi,
I am user iPad and I do not know how can attach a file into email e.g. CV.
    Thanks

You attach files within the app that creates the file or within the app that the file is saved. For example you email photos from within  the Photos App itself. Typically there will be an action icon within the app - an arrow icon many times - you tap on that to bring other options like Share - then Email.
Attachments must be mailed within the apps themselves.

Go into photos, into the folder you want the picture from, then tap on edit in the top right, then tap on each photo you want to email, and tap share at the bottom, then choose email.

  • Import non-iPhoto photo into iMovie

How do you import a non-iPhoto photo into iMovie? I cannot figure out a way to do this.
I use Adobe's Lightroom for all of my photo needs and would like to avoid iPhoto if possible.

You can drag and drop a photo into your project from the Finder. JPEG or PNG will work best.

  • Iphoto '11 attaches wrong photos in emails

I have been using iphoto '11 to email photos directly from the app. Frequently, I will send photos and the photos attached will be other photos in my iphoto library, not the ones I selected to send. Sometimes I send the same email to different people and some will get the 3 photos I intended to send and other receipients will get other photos from the library.

Yeah, seriously.  People rant on here all the time.... kinda like your first post.  We're not mindreaders and do not purport to know you mean to ask question unless you ask one.
Anyway, does the same thing happen when you set iPhoto up to use the regular Mail application for emails?  Go into Preferences, General, and under Email Photos Using, choose Mail.  Hopefully, that will work better.

  • Automatically Attaching (Or Inserting) Selected Photos Into Email Message

I recently upgraded from Photoshop Elements 3.0 to Photoshop CS2 and the one feature that I can't seem to find in Photoshop CS2 is an automated method for resizing photos and automatically attaching or inserting the photos into an email message. Elements 3.0 has a feature that allows you to select the photos you would like to send in Photoshop Organizer and then select a menu option that will resize the images for emailing and automatically attached the photos to new email message or insert the photos into the body of the message with a user selectable frame around each message.
Although I still have Photoshop Elements 3.0 installed, I'd prefer to work in Photoshop CS2 as much as possible but I can't seem to find any similar feature either in Adobe Bridge or in Photoshop. Does anyone know if there's any easy way to automatically email photos from Adobe Bridge/Photoshop CS2 similar to the feature included with Photoshop Elements 3.0?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Yes, there a number of very useful features in Elements that Adobe seems to leave out of CS2 for some unexplained reason. Elements is actually better at a bunch of useful things than CS2 is. That I don't understand.
Anyway, if you want to select several images in Bridge and make image sizes appropriate for email, you can do that. It's not as simple as in Elements, but not that hard either.
Just select the images you want to attach. Select Tools/Photoshop/Image Proccesor from the menus. This will open up Photoshop and bring up a dialog. You can then select a folder location, JPEG as the file type, [X] Resize to Fit and enter a pixel height and width appropriate for email depending upon how big you want the images to be and [X] Convert profile to sRGB and go. It will then makes JPEGs for you of the requested size. You, then finish the process by manually attaching them to an email in your email client.

  • Can't Drag Photos Into Email

I have '09 and use Entourage as my email client. For some reason when I updated to '09 I can't drag photos into an open email.
Not sure if it's an issue with Entourage or iPhoto, but it did work fine prior to my upgrading.
    Any suggestions??
Also, aside from beginning an email from iPhoto what is the best way to add pictures to an existing (fwd.) or new email not originated from iPhoto??
    Much thanks in advance.

    Any of the Following:
There are many, many ways to access your files in iPhoto:
    *For Users of 10.5 Only*
You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Apple-Click for selecting multiple pics.
    Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!
You can access the Library from the New Message Window in Mail:
    Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!
    *For users of 10.4 and 10.5* ...
Many internet sites such as Flickr and SmugMug have plug-ins for accessing the iPhoto Library. If the site you want to use doesn’t then some, one or any of these will also work:
To upload to a site that does not have an iPhoto Export Plug-in the recommended way is to Select the Pic in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export and export the pic to the desktop, then upload from there. After the upload you can trash the pic on the desktop. It's only a copy and your original is safe in iPhoto.
This is also true for emailing with Web-based services. However, if you're using Gmail you can use iPhoto2GMail
If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto.
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
*If you want to access the files with iPhoto not running*:
Create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use this free utility Karelia iMedia Browser
    Other options include:
    1. *Drag and Drop*: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
    2. *File -> Export*: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
    3. *Show File*: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.

  • Can no longer attach pdf files into email.

I recently purchased a new computer with Windows 8.1 as the OS.  Seems that I am no longer able to attach PDF files into any email.  Any clues as to what has gone wrong?

Thanks for the help.  Seems I had a failed Windows update several weeks past I had forgottent about.  Had to do a restore to the prior date to get back to the right configuration.  Did an online session with Mircosoft, reinitiated the update, and it seems as if the issue is resolved.  We were able to re-test attaching and send pdf files. Seems there is still some slight issue with IE, but you appear to be on the right track about focusing on Web Outlook if the problem continues to surface.  Thanks again.

  • How do I get imported iPhoto photos into iPhone Photostream

I imported a photo into iPhoto.  If I click on it, click actions and share to Photostream, I get a message saying it is already in Photostream.  Yet, it does not show up in the iPhoto Photostream folder on my Mac. Nor does it show up in my iPhone Photostream folder. I believe I have iCloud set up properly on both devices and have configured iPhoto correctly.  What am I missing?  Is there something I can do to force a sync?

    Hi John..
You can force Photo Stream to sync ...
On your Mac open System Preferences > iCloud. Deselect the box next to Photo Stream, then reselect it, then restart your Mac.
On your iPhone tap Settings > iCloud > Photo Stream. Toggle the button off then back on then restart the iPhone.
Restart your device: Hold the power button until "slide to power off" appears.  Slide to power off.  After it is off, press the power button to turn it back on.

  • Move iPhoto photos into specific project in Aperture

I am working on a project in Aperture.  I want to move a select group of photos from iPhoto into Aperture 3.5.1.  I know how to open these images in Aperture by switching libraries but I can't figure out how to actually move these photos into the Aperture project.  Most posts I found are based on Aperture 3.3 which is slightly different.
    Thanks.

I want to move a select group of photos from iPhoto into Aperture 3.5.1
    What is your iPhoto version?
To be able to import parts of an iPhoto library into an Aperture 3.5.1 library, you need a compatible iPhoto version, iPhoto 9.5.1, and your iPhoto library needs to be upgraded  to this version.
Open your iPhoto Library in Aperture and select the albums and events you want to export to Aperture.
Then use the command "File > export > Items as library".
This will write a new, partial Aperture library to your disk, with all selected events and albums, keywords, captions, edits,...
Now open your main Aperture library and use the command "File > Import > Library.
This will import the exported events and albums to your Aperture library. If there are duplicates, you may be prompted, if you want to merge or add the new items. Merging will only keep one of the duplicates.

  • Could someone please help me import my iphoto photos into aperture?  They are now just referenced files.

    Hello,
I am a longtime iphoto user and installed aperture this past december.  At that time I imported all my iphoto photos as referenced files and kept them in their iphoto location.  Since that time, every photo I took was uploaded directly into aperture and stored there.  I am now comfortable enough with aperture that I would like to use it as my primary photo viewer / manipulator and would like to merge my two libraries into one single aperture library.  Unfortunately, I cannot figure out how to do this.
I tried consolidating all originals yesterday, however this did not seem to have any effect.  I then tried reimporting my iphoto library, however, this simply duplicated many of my events (and the duplicated ones were not even adjustable via aperture, and each photo had a little exclamation point in the lower right corner).  Both of these attempts did nothing to combine my aperture projects and my iphoto events (which are now seen as a seperate iphoto tab under projects).  I am aware that I can now switch to my iphoto library within aperture in version 3.3, but I just want everything stored in one place and in my aperture library.  Can someone please help me with this?
The only thing I can think of is deleting all of the iphoto events from aperture and then reimporting them, but I am scared I will either delete something permenantly or that they will simply reimport as referenced files and remain within iphoto.
    Please help!
    Thanks,
    - Mike

    Mike,
I am not quite clear about the current state of your iPhoto and Aperture libraries. It looks like you have plenty of broken links to referenced masters in either library. Whatever you do now, it is very important to ensure that you have a working backup, both of your iPhoto Library and your Aperture library, before you try a major reconstruction.
I tried consolidating all originals yesterday, however this did not seem to have any effect.
In what way did it not have any effect? From the effects you are describing, it looks like all your original master images have been removed from the iPhoto Library and are now inside the Aperture library as managed masters - at least, this would explain, why trying to import the iPhoto library resulted in duplicated projects (and the duplicated ones were not even adjustable via aperture, and each photo had a little exclamation point in the lower right corner). You removed the original masters from the iPhoto library, and now you could not import it, since the originals are now in Aperture.
For me it looks, like you simply need to delete the iPhoto images marked with an exclamation mark, for these are already bound to images that you imported earlier. It is perfectly o.k. that the recently imported iPhoto Library appears in a separate section of the projects in your Library Inspector Panel. Each iPhoto event should appear as a project. Aperture will put them there, so you can find them easily.
You should check now, if the originally imported images, that you imported as referenced, are now managed. If you enable badge overlays you should see no longer any arrows on the thumbnails of your earlier imports. Also, if you select one of these images, you should be able to toggle between original master and version by typing the "M" key.
Define some smart albums (File > New > Smart album) based on the file status: Add a rule: File status is.
One smart album: File Status is referenced
One smart album: File Status is managed
One smart album: File Status is missing
The first album should be empty.
The second album should show all your images you originally imported from iphoto as managed, and that you recently consolidated.
The third album should show your recent import - the images imported from iPhoto after you consolidated the originals to Aperture and removed these images from iPhoto.
Post back, when you have checked the file status of your images in Aperture and we can be sure were the images are exactly.
    Regards

  • Inserting photos into emails. Why are they sent vertical instead of horizontal?

Please tell me why photos inserted into emails as hrorizontal are sent/received by recipient as vertical?  How can this be sent/received as constructed?

Sending photos as a PDF defeats the purpose of inserting viewable photos in the body of a mail message.  Any suggestions to make it look as created when sent/received?  Thank you for the discussion.
There is absolutely nothing you can do to in an email that will positively ensure the recipient sees it as you wish.
Since it is an auto-rotation issue, you might try exporting the photos first. That may eliminate the rotation metadata.

  • Why cant I Imports photos into a trailer storyboard?

My import buttons on the right side of my workspace are greyed out while Im in the storyboard... USELESS... I especially need to import photos into the storyboard... anyone know how to resolve this without buying a 3rd party app to convert he photos into .MOV files?

    Hi
Yes it's tedious. But need to be done.
Use iMovie to convert the photo to a movie file - by
    • create a new project
    • drop photo into it
    • Export / Share it as full quality Quicktime (.mov)
    • Use this new .mov file in Your Trailer
Yes this could have been 100% easier. But still it can be done.

Here's a tip: the people who respond here are all volunteers who give of their time and knowledge for free. They are likely to help if you give a full description of whatever issue you are having. Feel free to add as much detail as you can, because they folks on here are not mind-readers. So when you say something like "it says 'just drag'", feel free to explain what "it" is, what you are trying to drag and from where to where. Finally, believe it or not, they have little or no interest in how you're feeling. They also have very little interest in profanity. So, when tempted to share be sure to stick to the bits that will help solve your problem, and not the other stuff.
