Keep getting error 4280 when trying to burn a music cd. Wht is the fix - suggestions?

I was having this issue before I upgraded to the newest version and still seem to not be able to burn.
I am getting Error 4280?
There isnt much info on this to fix it it seems...

I can't burn a disc from Itunes without getting error 4280 repeatedly. I was just able to burn a CD and now can't burn another. Any thoughts? I know my CD burner works as I just made a disc. I have tried changing file type from Audio to MP3 with no luck. Thanks for trying to help me.

It sounds like you are unable to burn a disc with iTunes due to this error code. I would first use the following article to check issues with the type of disc drive:

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
The error hints at a similar pattern to those discussed in the first and third boxes of the user tip, suggesting that you've got an outdated .dll file that needs replacing. You should find CoreMedia.dll in the one of the following folders:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support
Delete it and then repair Apple Mobile Device Support from the Programs and Features control panel. If that doesn't work go for the full tear down and rebuild.

Cant burn tunes to disk.Error code 4020

As of yesterday, I cant burn anymore songs to disks.I receive an error code 4020.It sounds like it is going to burn the songs but then after 2 minutes nothing happens and it aborts.Is it possible it is a problem with I-Tunes 7.1? Should I go back to an earlier version??

The next time you have the problem, note the exact time: hour, minute, second.
If you have more than one user account, these instructions must be carried out as an administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
Scroll back in the log to the time you noted above. Select any messages timestamped from then until the end of the episode, or until they start to repeat. Copy them to the Clipboard (command-C). Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).

Cant burn from playlist - unknown error (2131)

I am not able to burn an audio cd from my playlist. I insert a cd as prompted. Itunes checks playlist. Then the cd ejected. A pop up comes up sayin, 'playlist cannot be burnt, unknown error(2131).
I am using the current version of Itunes, on windows vista.
Anybody know of a solution please?

Trying to burn CR-R, get error message -34

Hi,
Whenever I insert a blank CD-R in order to burn files, I get the following error message:
"Burning the disk cannot proceed becasue the startup disk does not have enough empty space. To burn the disc the Finder needs space on the startup disk equal to the size of the disc. (Error code -34)"
I've tried searching the online help, but the only thing that comes up is the option to set the startup disk. Any ideas on what I can do to fix this and avoid similar problems in the future?

Fireymonkeyboy, Welcome to the discussion area!
That means that your hard drive does not have enough free space. To burn a CD you need at least 1.2 GB of free space on the hard drive.
To make room on your hard drive you will need to delete some files. If the files are important you probably will want to back them up to an external hard drive or another location before deleting them from the hard drive.

I cant open itunes. Get error 7 and windows error 5. How do I resolve?

I updated to latest version and cannot now open iTunes. I get Error 7 and Windows error 5. does anyone know what the issue is and how to resolve it? I have Windows 7 and the .Net Framework 4 or above and my pc will therefore not install it.

Itunes wont burn my CD disc error 4280?

I have a toshiba satellite computer running windows 7 and itunes 11. It wont let me burn my playlist to a disk. Im using memorex CD-R blank cd. I have tried every disc write speed and nothing worked and ran diagnostics everything checks out. Can someone help me?

I tried the same thing on an HP Touchsmart, using Windows 7. I highlight songs in my iTunes music library and create a new playlist. I right-click on the playlist and start the burning process. I am prompted to put a blank disc in the drive, which I do. Then I have two more prompts, which ask me about the format of the content I wish to create. Once that's done, the burning starts.
It seems that for every playlist I burn, I ruin one disc. It seems that either at the beginning or at the end of the burning process that an error occurs and burning is cancelled. This is very frustrating.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

I hope someone can help me.
I have never had issues before but in the last few days it has been HORRIBLE.
I have brand new CDs to burn to and sometimes I get an error to insert a blank disc(how can it not be it is brand new)
Other times I try to burn a disc and get:
"the attempt to burn a disc failed and unknown error occured(4280)
I have deauthorized and reauthorized my PC. Some of the songs I am burning are ones I loaded from a CD that I had burned one before with NO problems.
I have wasted at least 10 CDs in the last few days trying to get this to work.
I have checked EVERYWHERE for a list of Error Code numbers but I can find it anywhere.
It will check playlist then start to "write" a song and it stops.
ANY help would be appreciated I am seriously losing my mind!!
