Cant change Apple ID in iCloud iOS7

I just upgraded my hubands 4S and wanted to start iCloud for him. Hoever, he recently had to change his Apple ID and pw and now I cannot find a way to change the apple ID Icloud wants to use. App store, iTunes, everthing else is changed and verified. Any suggestions? I tried signing in and out of iMessage and Facetime but that did not allow me to change the ID in iCloud. Thanks

On the phone, try Settings --> iCloud --> Account.
This is the "master switch" for the iCloud account that is associated with the device.

If you need to change your iCloud ID on your iPad, go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, then sign back in with the new ID.  This deletes the account and your iCloud data from your device, but not from iCloud.  Provided you are signing back into the same account, your iCloud data will reappear on your device when you sign back in.
To avoid losing photo stream photos, save them to your camera roll (if not already there) before deleting the account.  To do this, open your my photo stream album, tap Edit, tap the photos, tap Share, then tap Save to Camera Roll.

Settings-icloud-scroll to the bottom, select delete, if you want to keep the content select keep, otherwise it'll remove it. Then once it is done add the account information for the account you want on that phone.  Your apple ID in settings-store will remain the same and each device can still purchase/use content from that account.

How to change apple id in iCloud

If the old ID is your ID, and if your new ID was created by editing the details of this old ID (rather than being an entirely new ID), go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

how to change apple id for icloud?

    From the knowledgeable Roger Wilmut:
You can't change the primary email address, the one you created when you opened an iCloud account (or if you migrated from MobileMe the address you log in with) other than by opening a completely new account.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5621
However you can create three 'email aliases' - these are extra addresses, not accounts, which deliver into the same inbox as the main address.

It's actually quite a good idea to give out an alias address rather than the main one, since these can be easily changed should you get spammed.

  • Change Apple ID for iCloud

Some time ago I Inherited my wife's previous iPad along with her Apple ID for ICloud. I have now purchased a new iPad air 2 and transferred the old iPad info however her iCloud email address (gmail) came along with the transfer. I have my own Apple ID set up for ITunes and would like to change the old ID to match so I'll have the same one for both my iCloud and ITunes accounts. Can I please get some guidance on how to do this? She still uses her Apple ID on her devices so I'd only like to make this change on my iPad (and Iphone). Thanks a lot.

    Hi Friend,
Delete the account (in Settings>iCloud), then set up a new account using her ID.  If you need to migrate any iCloud data to the new account, be sure to choose "Keep on My iDevice" when prompted about what to do with the iCloud data; then when setting up the new account, to merge the data with the new account be sure to choose Merge.
    Hope it helps

  • Change apple id in icloud

I changed my apple id, and now it doesn't work on the phone. How do I uppdate to the new Id without losing data?

I changed my apple ID and password. Now I am unable to change my ID on iCloud. It keeps asking for the password of the old Apple ID which is of course no longer valid. With iTunes it was easy. I signed out then signed in again with my new Apple ID and it worked. Why could it not be the same? Please help. I bought 250Gb capacity which I don't want to lose. Nor  lose what I have in it. Waiting to hear from you. Thx.

  • Changing Apple ID under iCloud settings

On my iPad, I need to change the Account (Apple ID) under iCloud but it does not allow me. This iPad now belongs to my wife who has her own Apple ID.
Currently when I sign in in iCloud.com with her account and go to "Find my iPad" it shows the name of the iPad OK but as Offline.
    Tks, a lot

To change the iCloud account you have to delete the account, then create a new account (or sign in to an alternate existing account) on the iPad.  However, if you need to migrate existing data on the iPad to this alternate account, start by going to Settings>iCloud, then turn off all synced data (contacts, calendars, etc.).  When prompted, choose to keep the data on the iPad.  When everything is off, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.  Then set up the new iCloud account and turn iCloud syncing back On (which will upload the data to the new account).  If prompted, choose Merge.

  • Change apple id in icloud on ipad

i have a new apple id but icloud  on my ipad  don,t want to change to new id grrrr

If you mean that Find My Phone is asking for a password to a different Apple ID to your current Apple IDand that ID is a previous version of your current ID, not an entirely different one.
This feature has been introduced to make stolen phones useless to those that have stolen them.
However it can also arise when the user has changed their Apple ID details with Apple and not made the same changes to their iCloud account/Find My Phone on their device before upgrading to iOS 7, or if you restore from a previous back up made before you changed your details.
The only solution is to change your Apple ID back to its previous state with Apple at My Apple ID using your current password, you don’t need access to this address if it’s previously been used with your Apple ID, once you have saved these details enter the password as requested on your device and then turn off "find my phone" and delete the account from your device.
You should then change your Apple ID back to its current state, save it once again and then log back in using your current Apple ID. Finally, turn "find my phone" back on once again.
