CANT CHANGE THE ICLOUD NAME ON MY IPHONE

HOW DO I CHANGE THE ICLOUD NAME ON MY IPHONE  5C IF I DONT HAVE THE PASSWORD FOR THE OLD ONE

Temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Sign Out and choose Delete from My iPhone when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign back in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • I can not transfer date from one hard drive to another, I keep getting an error because I have two of the same file names and one file name is in caps and I cant change the file name

can not transfer date from one hard drive to another, I keep getting an error because I have two of the same file names and one file name is in caps and I cant change the file name. My original external has an error and needs to be reformatted but I dont want to lose this informations its my entire Itunes library.

Sounds like the source drive is formatted as case sensitive and the destination drive is not. The preferred format for OS X is case insensitive unless there is a compelling reason to go case sensitive.
Why can't you change the filename? Is it because the source drive is having problems?  If so is this happening with only one or two or a few files? If so the best thing would be to copy those over individually and then rename them on the destination drive.
If it is more then you can do manually and you can't change the name on the source you will have to reformat the destination as case sensitive.
Btw this group is for discussion of the Support Communities itself, you;d do better posting to Lion group. I'll see if a host will move it.

  • How do I change the iCloud ID on my iPhone

    Hi everyone,
Please let me explain my situation first.
I was using email1 for my iCloud backup on my iPhone4. Then I had a problem with that email and had to change that email to email2 via the web browser.
I then changed my iCloud ID on my iPhone to reflect that change. Then I had a problem with the iPhone so had to restore via iCloud. Upon restoring, my iPhone keeps asking to connect to iCloud but the ID it use is the email1 not the new email2 I am currently using. I try changing the iCloud email on iPhone but it would simply not let me. Can anyone help me change the iCloud ID on my iPhone?
Thank you very much in advance.
    Any suggestion will be appreciated.
    Shirley

I did but that caused my ID to reflect the change and caused the problem in the first place. Thank you but I just found a solution here https://discussions.apple.com/message/22605888#22605888.

  • Question: How can I change the iCloud ID on my iphone to the one I'm using on my ipad?

How can I change the iCloud ID on my iphone to the one I'm using on my ipad?

In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
When you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.

  • How do i change the icloud account on my iphone to a different existing account

I have a business iPhone 5S on which the iTunes account is associated with the Apple ID I signed up for using my business e-mail. I signed in to iCloud with a personal Apple ID account to get some of my personal music onto the device. I have been trying to find out how to change the iCloud account to my business Apple ID. I'd like to be able to switch back and forth if I want. I have read several posts that advise deleting the iCloud account, but I still have personal devices I would like to continue to use with this Apple ID and iCloud account. The extent of the deletion is not addressed.
If I use the delete account under iCloud, does that delete it from the device, or does it delete it permanently? Tried adding my business email to the iCloud account, but it won't let me because it is associated with another Apple ID (duh). Am I stuck here?
    iPhone 5S, iOS 8.1 - just updated.
The only option under iCloud is "Sign Out"

Deleting an iCloud account only deletes it from the Device, not from iCloud.  In iOS 8, the name of this setting changed to "Sign Out" as that is a better reflection of what actually happens.  Your iCloud data remains on the server, available to devices still signed into the account, but the device you sign out of the account on is disconnected from the account, and as a result, the iCloud data from that account is removed from the device.  It will redownload to the device should you sign back into the account.
The only issue you'll run into when you switch between accounts is with my photo stream photos older than 30 days.  When you delete (or sign out of) and account, your photo stream photos are deleted along with the other data from the account in question.  However, unlike other data which remains on the server and can redownload to your device when you sign back in, my photo stream photos only remain in iCloud for 30 days.  When you sign back in, you will only get back my photo stream photos added in the last 30 days (as older photos are no longer in iCloud to redownload).  Like other account data, any my photo stream photos on your other devices signed into the account are unaffected by this.  If you want to keep older my photo stream photos on your device as you change iCloud accounts, save them to your camera roll before deleting (signing out of) the account.

I want to use the same account for all my apple devices (macbook air, imac and iphone). I can't see how I can amend the iphone account because it is in grey? I also can't remember the password for this account so i can't even delete it and start again?

  • Can't change the iCloud id on my iphone

I recently changed my Apple ID because the old email is going away.  So everything went fine except the iCloud login on the iphone.  it still has the old id in it and when I try to delete it, it says I have to run off Find My iPhone and asks for the password and it comes up with the id already populated and wants the password then tells me that the password is incorrect even when I put in the right one for that id. Anyone got a suggestion on a solution?

Go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID and tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email address and save the change.
You can now use your current password to turn OFF Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID.
Then go to Settings > iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).
Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.
Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • How can I change the iCloud associated with my iPhone when the email account no longer exists?

My mum had the iPhone that I'm now using for a couple of years, and the iCloud account attached to it uses an email address that was shut down by Virgin, so we can't access it any more to verify emails, etc.
Now that I'm using it, I want to assign it to my ID or even reset it, but the password my mum is certain she used won't be accepted. I looked around the community and tried to change her iCloud settings online to the old email address and then delete the iCloud on my iPhone using the new password for the new ID she now has, but it won't seem to accept any password.
Is there any way at all I can do this, or will I have to get a Genius appointment or something?
Thank you for any help you can give me!

    Hi:
Log in and click on your user name, then look at the upper the right side of the page.
Click on the triangle to the left of the "More Resources" section.
This will drop down, and give you options.
    Select User Settings.
This will now open a page, and in the light blue type on top, follow it along to Contact Information, click on that, and change your e-mail address to what you want, and hit the blue submit button on the bottom right side of the page.

  • How do I change the iCloud account on my iPhone?

I had to change my account name on my computer and the previous email does not even exist anymore. It wont let me delete the account off of my phone unless I turn off Find My iPhone, which I cannot do because the iCloud account that it asks the password for is nonexistent. How can I get this account off of my phone??

You would have to find out what the password was. Have you already tried to reset the password (https://appleid.apple.com)?

  • Can I Change the photo name generated by iPhone?

When I copy my iPhone (4S) photos to my Windows PC they are named IMG_nnnn.jpg.  This is also the kind of name my Canon camera generates.  Messy!
Is there a way to get the iPhone to use some name that does not start with "IMG_" ?  Or maybe get it to start using a number series starting at a much higher number?

PS: There does not seem to be a way to change the names that the Canon camera uses.

  • How do I change the computer name of my iPhone?

In Mac OS X, we can go to System Preferences / Sharing, and set our Computer Name. Is there something like this for the iPhone? I'd like to rename mine to something more customized (and identifiable) for when it displays on a home network.

With iphone connected to itunes, double click on the name and change it - just like changing the name of a playlist.

  • Changed apple id.  How do I change the iCloud settings on my iPhone?

Since I changed my apple ID, my phone no longer syncs with iCloud.  It still shows my old apple ID.  I tried deleting the iCloud account from my phone, but that deletes all the appointments from my calander!  I can then add my new apple I'd in iCloud, but it doesn't bring back my appointments!  I have to do a restore from my iCloud to get the appointments back, but when I do that it also restores my old apple ID back as my iCloud account again!  I can't get my iCloud changed and keep my appointments!  HELP!!!!  Very frustrated!!
