It finds the connection right away, but after putting in the password, I immediately get a message "unable to connect to ......" Hello aznan99,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information on this, take a look at:
Apple TV (2nd and 3rd generation): Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4546
If you can see your Wi-Fi network, but you are unable to connect to it
Check for any obstructions and adjust the location of your router or Apple TV; also check for sources ofpotential interference.
Check the wireless security option of your Wi-Fi router.
If your Wi-Fi network uses a password, make sure you are entering it correctly.
Note: Apple TV cannot connect to networks that contain high (extended) or double-byte characters (Unicode) characters (such as Japanese, Korean, and Chinese) in the name or password.
If you are using WEP security, consider using WPA or WPA2 instead.
Temporarily disable wireless encryption or security on the Wi-Fi router to rule out encryption issues.
Note: Certain business and institutional Wi-Fi networks require special profiles to connect. See Additional Information below for assistance.
Verify that your Wi-Fi router is not using MAC address filtering or other security features that limit the number or types of devices that can connect to it.If you need to add the MAC address to the access list for the Wi-Fi router, the MAC address is listed as the Wi-Fi address in Settings > General > About.
Update your Wi-Fi router to the latest firmware. For an AirPort Base Station, refer to this article for information about firmware updates. For third-party Wi-Fi routers, check the manufacturer's website for details on updating your firmware.
If after attempting the above steps, your Apple TV is still unable to connect to your Wi-Fi network:
Restart your Apple TV: Choose Settings > General > Restart.
If you can connect to the Internet using an Ethernet connection, verify that your Apple TV is using the latest software by choosing Settings > General > Software Update. If your Apple TV can be updated, install the update and test again.
Best of luck,

I updated my iphone and now I cant connect to my home wifi
Ive updated my iphone 4s to the new software and now I can no longer connect to my home wifi
Hello there indianafran,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!
I recommend these troublehshooting steps from the article named iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections found here http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398:
Be sure you're in range of your Wi-Fi router (access point).
Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and turn Wi-Fi off and on. If your W-Fi setting is dimmed, follow these steps.
Confirm that your Wi-Fi router and cable or DSL modem are connected to power, turned on, and connected to the Internet. If not, refer to your network administrator or Internet service provider (ISP) for assistance.
Restart your iOS device.
Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and locate the Wi-Fi network to which you're connected.
Tap and Forget this Network.
Try to connect to your desired Wi-Fi network.
Note: You may need to enter your Wi-Fi password again if your network requires one.
Turn your Wi-Fi router off and on2. If your ISP also provides cable or phone service, check with them before attempting this step to avoid interruption of service.
Update your device to the latest version of software.
Update your Wi-Fi router to the latest firmware2. For AirPort Base Stations, install updates using the AirPort Utility.
If that does not fix the issue then these steps near the bottom of the article is where I would go next:
Unable to connect to a Wi-Fi network
Verify that you're attempting to connect to your desired Wi-Fi network.
Make sure you're entering your Wi-Fi password correctly. Passwords may be case sensitive and may contain numbers or special characters.
Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Note: This will reset all network settings including:
previously connected Wi-Fi networks and passwords
recently used Bluetooth accessories
VPN and APN settings
All the very best,

Cant connect itunes tu apple tv
I cant connect apple tv with Itunes, dosent appear in the device list
Welcome to the Apple Community.
I'm a little confused as to what the problem is, are you saying your MacBook doesn't work with the Apple TV, but the MacBook Pro does.
Have you tried pairing the library on the MacBook or are you just expecting the MacBook to see the Apple TV because the MacBook Pro does. -
My apple TV has been working fine. Now it gives me error -3906 and says it cant connect to the network. it wont accept the password for my wifi. I have tried to restart and restore both the apple tv and my modem. still the same issue and same error message. any ideas?

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

I cant connect to WiFi on my iPod Touch 1G?
I have had an iPod Touch 1G for quite some time now, but I recently upgraded the iOS firmware to 3.1.3, and I just noticed that I cant connect to wifi! Nothing is grayed out, but it cannot find any connections. Ive tried resetting my router and wifi settings, but that diddnt seem to work either.
So it is not this problem:
iOS: Wi-Fi or Bluetooth settings grayed out or dim
One user reported that placing the iPod in the freezer fixed the problem.
If not successful, an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is usually in order.
Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar
Teh try:
Does the iPod connect to other networks? (noit clear if you have access to more than one)
Does the iPod see the network?
Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iPod connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on the router
- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
