Cant connect from laptop to tv

hi all!
my mom wants her s10-3t to be connected to our tv which has a vga pc input..
i suppose vga out from laptop to vga in on the tv?
i tried detecting the tv on the laptop but it wont detect. i also tried to check the phrase "connect to 2nd vga anyway?" or something that said like that. pressed fn+f3 or win key + P and tried all options but still no signal flowing to the tv.
i have reformatted her laptop a few months ago (for some reason) and installed all drivers that i have downloaded here in lenovo site.
before i formatted her laptop we didnt had a chance to connect it to the tv.
any help? or i must have missed some driver or something to install to the laptop from its installers? what driver is needed to help it run via vga out to tv?
i repeatedly tried installing the chipset, bios, tv tuner, vga and nothing works.

Welcome to Lenovo Forums!
There may be few things that you might want to check.
-Most TVs has an input/source option. Make sure your TV is set on VGA source mode.
-Pressing Fn+F3 should give you an interface for display selection. if that did not appear Try pressing:
Fn + F5: Open the interface for integrated wireless devices settings (on/off).
Fn + F6: Enable/Disable the touchpad.
to test the function option if it is working fine If those did not work either then Try reinstalling Lenovo Energy management and try the Fn+F3 again.

I installed a zone with default settings (ip-type exclusive) . From this zone I can ping the global zone
and reverse. But I cant connect or ping anything outside the machine.
Is this the intention of zones in Solaris 11 , or did I forget some (security) setting?

RobPlease be aware I could say something stupid in my explanations.
This all really depends on how your networking is set up.
In a native solaris 10 zone than with an exclusive ip adress one would have a dedicated real interface connecting to the outside world
In a solaris 11 machine there are more options available ...
.... and you may (not may not) need to be using dladm ; ipadm ;
A assume you may then need to use routeadm to sort out routing; or perhaps ou do not have a default route set up. ( I have a tendendency to blunder around like a bull in a china show with notworking)

Hdmi wont connect from laptop to tv

Hi
I was wondering if someone can help me
when i plug the hdmi cable in the laptop to the tv i get no signal, its as if the laptop does not recognise the tv,
ive tried other laptops on the same tv and they connect fine.
my spec is
HP PAVILLION G6 1325EA
DISPLAY DRIVER IS AMD RADEON (TM) HD 6380G
im using windows 7
i have also tried vga connection wwithout any luck
please can you help me?
ive tried obvious things like lowering screen resolution and pressing fn and p or windows and p,
please please help its really doing my head in.
i only want to watch my favourite shows from my laptop on a big tv

AppleTV loses streaming connection from laptop - screen-saver/sleep?

Hi,
I am trying to watching movies saved to my laptop by streaming them directly via AppleTV (initiating through Apple TV interface).
At first, it seems to work fine - the streaming works - but after 15 or 20 minutes, the connection drops and the AppleTV appears to have lost the link to my iTunes account (it asks for me to set up the iTunes account details new). When I reawake my laptop from sleep and reaccess the AppleTV interface, it 'finds' the link again.
I have experimented by disabling the screen-saver by placing the cursor in the bottom-right of the screen, and the problem does not occur. Nevertheless this is not a proper fix for the problem.
Can anyone help me find an automated way to stop the laptop from going to sleep or activating the screen-saver when streaming movies from AppleTV, but not when the laptop is not being used?

I have the same issue with my Mac Mini.. Ive gone into the energy saver settings and changed computer sleep to never as well as the display sleep to never but can not get it from disconnecting.,

Cant synchronize from laptop (Vista) to Palm V

Hi Someone just gave me a Palm V and I have tried to synchronize with no avail from my laptop (has Vista on it) to the Palm V. I installed the software, got a username and tried to synchronize but no luck (press the button on the cord of the palm. It says cannot synchronize. Obviously I am doing something wrong. I dont know how to fix it. One time I clicked local connection and another time I clicked network. Both showed failed synchronization. I downloaded the software it onto my laptop while I was in the library b/c they have wireless internet. Any suggestions. Do I need to download a different software to go with vista. thanks for any advise.

You can sync the device to Windows XP. You won't need to worry about your internet conneciton because the device will not use that to connect to your computer. It syncs via USB. If you do not have the Palm software on the computer than you will need to download Palm Desktop from www.palm.com. With a dial up network it could take some time to download the software.

My daughter has come home and has a new laptop, she tried to use my bb conection but after entering the network key which i got of the back of the home hub it then say
the network password needs to be 40bit or 104bits depending on your network configuration this can be entered as 5 or 13 ascii characters or 10 or 26 hexadecimal charachters.
please can anyone help me. I cant find the card which comes with the hume hub with the Wep number on it either

It should be available in the advanced settings of the home hub (http://bthomehub.home/). The structure of the menus depends on what version of the hub you have, but try going to the advanced settings and looking for the wireless options.

Cant connect from iTunes to airplay.

Hi There,
I googled this for hours and still cannot get this to work..
My airport express is connected to a network created on another router, that connects to the web if thats of any consequence, So my express doesnt connect to the web, my express connects to the established network..
So I can see the speakers from itunes but cannot connect to them, not even with firewall switched off, ivp6 ininstalled and antivirus uninstalled.
Any thoughts?

Some success. But Lion Server 10.7.3 is having trouble with the older g remotes now.
After setting up a few things while talking with Clarke at Apple Server Support we had a Lion 10.7 compatible version of Server Admin 10.7 installed and could reach the server firewall. Short answer: had to turn it off to get the aiport express remotes to accept streams from the server.
The new downside is that Airport Utility 6 can't deal with the older 802.11g airport express remotes. Further the server can't select them if they have been power cycled. The only way to get the server's copy of iTunes 10.5.3 to see the first two g remotes is to restart the whole server. Restarting iTunes isn't enough. Logging out and back in isn't enough. Haven't found a more surgical way to reconnect.
Need to try to punch only the necessary holes in the server firewall and use it instead.
I'd really love to see a very well documented description of the steps that iTunes goes through when connecting to airport express remotes with the differences when running on a server. ALL the steps, including handshaking and those high port numbers and just what keeps getting screwed up, like with the new 10.7.3 server update.

Cant connect sony laptop

hi ive just had bt wireless fitted, and everything has linked up dead easily except my sony vaio laptop. it is recognizing the wireless network and saying connected, but will not work, even when i connect it via a cable. any help greatly appreciated.

This suggestion by forum member gg30340, should fix the problem.
Select Start
In the Start Search field type ncpa.cpl and press the Enter key on your keyboard.
In the new window, right-click on your Wireless Network Connection and select Properties.
In the This connection uses the following items section, remove the tick beside (i.e. disable) Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) and then press OK.
Left click on Internet Protocol IPV4, click on properties. Check the options to obtain IP address and DNS Server address automatically.

Limited connection from laptop

The printer was succesfully set up on the home PC using our wireless network however when the printer is connected to my laptop the connection is 'limited'. How can I get a regular connection with my laptop? Thanks.

Make sure you enter your correct Network Key, limited connectivity error normally occurs when you enter a wrong/invalid network key...

mozilla will connect from laptop. I uninstalled it and installed it again, but it download mozilla 5 it still will not connect

they made the usb camera kit because it does support usb masstorage
usb is just a connection and drivers are required for everything some drivers are generic like mass storage
most are not and require the manufactor to make a device driver
but ios devices don't support 3th party device drivers so you're stuck with the build in ones
like mass storage
if you look into the range of supported bluetooth profiles of ios devices you will find the same problem

@Molina: Did you checked you settings i the GeForce utility (could be found in the Control Panel - Display - Advanced - GeForce) and did you installed the NVIEW utility?
Also you could try the combination of "Fn" and "F5" keys, this switches between different monitor profiles (also TV)
@MarAltai: You could also test the "Fn" and "F5" key combination when TV is connected!
Then check your settings in the control panel - display - advanced - Displays. The TV should be connected physically and also identified by the software!

Maunally restore it. In order to do this:
-Download the iOS 5.1.1 firmware from here http://www.redmondpie.com/download-5.1.1-ios-for-iphone-4s-4-3gs-ipad-ipod-touch -direct-official-links/
1. After downloading the firmware from the given link, open iTunes and click on your device.
2. Now press SHIFT on your keyboard and while pressing it click on "Restore".
3. A dialog box will appear.
4. Select the firmware you downloaded and click ok.
5. Done!!! Your iPhone will now be restored to 5.1.1 and if you had backed up your iPod before, then you can put all its settings afterwards.

You do not use a WEP password but wpa/wpa2 on router and equipment.
All equipment connects to WiFi, but for your iPad.
Even with all other equipment WiFi off, you cannot connect your iPad.
Your iPad connects to other WiFi nets correctly.
All resets etc done on iPad and Router.
Still I am not sure it is your router for sure, frustrating...
I want to test 2 other things:
1. in your iPad, set everything OFF in Settings/Cellular, turn off/then/on your WiFi, and see whether it will still not connect...
2. If that does not do it: disconnect the router as well as the modem from the power, for 15 seconds, then reconnect the modem, let it fully start, then reconnect the routet let it fully start, turn of your WiFi in iPad, then on, and see whether it will connect.

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)

    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button
