    Dear Sony - please please please tidy up your phone contacts system! To say I've literally been directed around the world either through 'I'll connect you through to ... ' or been given other numbers 'which will be able to help you with your query' or having some automated phone number that does NOT redirect you back to main menu meaning you must hang up and start over . **bleep** **bleep** **bleep** is all I can say! 
    My Tablet stopped charging! All I wanted was to find out if it could be repaired and where to send it to! That was all. I wasnt looking to buy a rocket to the moon! I think my query was simple and none of your numbers I phoned (thought if I used a number associated with support I might have been along the right track but seemed not .. at least not for Ireland..).
    Following about my fifth phone call/transfer etc, I was sent an email with an address of whom to send my Tablet to and which I did. But I never received a phone number for this company, and on contacting Sony again on a number found through Sony Mobile Support, went through another journey of **bleep** of different numbers to the point, I just Googled the Repair Centre in Ireland and thankfully found the phone number for them that way, and thankfully they confirmed they had received my Tablet.
    Sony - each and every staff member of yours I spoke to was very pleasant and helped within their limited capacity but for something so simple, should not have been so **bleep**-ish. 

    Rickard .. thanks so much for your comment. I think my problem is that I'm from Republic of Ireland and not UK and therefore I fall between the cracks for support. That link allows me to select my country. It then gives a phone number which to me appears to be a local Irish low-call number .. through the menu options I have to select 2 for 'tablet that has been sent for repair', then 2 for 'updateon repair', and 3 for 'any other network' - the girl who answered the phone then asked me for my booking reference number which panicked me, then we established that was only for mobiles, tablets did not have a booking reference (phew) and then she gave me a number to phone - 0044 1656 867339. This turned out to be support for repairs based in south of Wales and could not offer any help and had never heard of the company in Ireland that my tablet had been posted to. As I was about to phone the original support number back I realised I could just try to google this irish company and indeed that worked. But I hope this will give a sample of my experience to date. My experience from my initial enquiry was very similar but took a lot longer and many more transfers and different phone numbers been offered. I have no issues with any staff, all very patient and pleasant to deal with, but the phone networking system in place seriously needs to be tidied up.

  • Cant stream mp4 videos from websites any more.

    I bought my Iphone 3Gs last week friday and have loved it every day since, but recently I went on my fav MP4 video streaming site and every time I click a video it takes a few seconds then instead of the video its a page full of crazy txt
    This was working perfectly a few days ago and cant get it working at all now, the website in question is <edited by host> the mobile version god that sounds so seedy but every man has his needs lol I need my Fix!!!
    I cant even go on youtube mobile and watch a video it just doesnt show anything but blank white screen where the video should be, but the youtube app works perfectly
    and also when I plug my iphone into Itunes occasionally it wants me to restore the iphone then I unplug and stick it back in and it works perfectly
    Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? tempted to restore my iphone because its annoying me that much
    p.s My friend who has an Ipod Touch 1st Gen is able to go on the sites and the videos work for him instantly so its not a flash problem the videos are in mp4 format just incase anyone starts talking about Iphone's not having flash

  • Touchscreen Dead : how to contact support from France

    Hi,
    My touchscreen does not work anymore. I'm living in France. Apple France says Apple should change for a new one because it's a know hardware problem . But, Apple France don't want to do it because my serial number is US, sure, I bought my iPhone in NY.
    It will be easier for everyone to have an international support, but it seems not to be possible for Apple Inc.
    How do I contact US support from France ? The number 1-800-694-7466 does not work from France, and I did not find any mail or fax number...

    The answer will not change no matter how many times you post here about your problem and asking the same questions.
    Not once have I called YOU a hacker, but you are using a hacked iPhone which was hacked by a hacker. Regardless, doing so is against the software use license for the iPhone, which VOIDS THE WARRANTY, AND ELIMINATES ANY SUPPORT FROM APPLE.
    For an iPhone sold in the U.S., the iPhone MUST be activated with at&t in order for the warranty to be valid.
    If Orange in France is unlocking iPhones sold in France as carrier locked with Orange, they are doing so with a method provided and approved by Apple. This is not hacking by definition. A hacker uses an unapproved and unsupported method to unlock an iPhone which is against the software use license for the iPhone, which voids the warranty, and eliminates any support by Apple.
    I couldn't care less about French law. We are talking about an iPhone that was purchased in the U.S. with U.S. laws applying to this iPhone.
    The only way to get warranty coverage for an iPhone sold in the U.S. is to return to the U.S., but since your iPhone was hacked by some hacker, you don't have warranty coverage.
    You can continue posting the same and trying to rationalize why you should have coverage but you don't. Purchase an unlocked iPhone in France through the proper channels and you will have warranty coverage there.

    In RH8, I'm trying to fix broken links. I find the topics, then they move from the Broken Links folder to the correct folder but then the topic still looks like it has a broken link! Can anyone advise? here's a pic

    Unfortunately you are totally misunderstanding things. Please allow me to try and explain better.
    ANY folder in your project is going to have an FPJ file inside it. This is a "behind the scenes" file that RoboHelp uses to keep track of the files that are part of the project.
    In the image you provided, there are two folders in the project location with similar names:
    Ranger_Help
    Ranger_Help_
    Only the Ranger_Help_ appears to actually be part of the project because the other folder Ranger_Help isn't appearing in the image capture showing the project inside RoboHelp. So unless something screwy happened, you should not find an FPJ file inside that folder. Then again, you may find one. It all depends on what happened.
    Personally, I'd look inside the Ranger_Help folder and see if the files representing the broken links are inside. They may well be. And if so, I'd copy them to the Ranger_Help_ folder and see if that resolves things.
    This project is beginning to resemble a bowl of spaghetti!

  • Broken Link Report with Variables

    In my broken links report, I have many links that contain dynamic variables that will be realized at execution time and are not static links.
    I have included some code from our page(s) below.
    This process works extremely well for our web pages, but I would like to clear up the broken link report.
    Is there a way to keep the code as is and have them removed from the broken link report, or is there better way to do this?

    Further info - I changed my security settings to allow apps from anywhere, and again tried to install.  I again got an error message
    that the update failed to install, and to contact Customer Support.

  • How do I restore files from TM backups with broken links?

    I have Time Machine backups with broken links all over the more recent backups.
    I get the message "The alias “xxx” can’t be opened because the original item can’t be found." whenever I click on one of the links.
    I have made the backups on my external usb backup drive before before upgrading my internal disk to a larger one.
    Two questions: 1) How can I recover the files?  2) What happened, how can I repair the backup if possible?
    The sequence of events was: Made the latest backup.  Apple ran extended diagnostics overnight at the store and did a reinstall of the OS (10.8.2).  I passed on restoring the backup and went to an authorized service center and had them put in a new tera-byte drive.  I deleted (in the star-wars display) the oldest two and a middle backup leaving the Aug, Oct, and latest Nov. backups.
    Now I see 100's 1000's of bad links.  If I look at the backup (just look) with finder I can see directories for July and Sept in addition to the ones I didn't delete.
    It appears that the files are probably all there and I could recover them a few at a time if I poke around.
    I am tempted to do this before trying to repair the disk.  Yes, it will take me ages; but I would rather take the time than a chance at doing -Anything- that could even possibly make things worst.  I can see 3 senarios and wonder if anyone can say what would be best. And by best I mean **Safest**.
    1) Go in TM to the Aug backup that seems to have no (or maybe only a few) broken links and restore that; then move in TM to newer backups and restore one folder or file at a time on top of it.
    2) Do the same thing with a restore of Aug but then use the finder to copy newer files from the backup disk to the new disk.
    3) Do essentially the same thing; but do it all in finder.
    Of course that still begs the question of what happened and if the backup can be repaired; but to me, that is secondary to getting the data back.
    fyi- I have looked at the TM hints and debug-repair file.  I realize I can try a repair disk but I am tempted to try to get the data 1st unless someone is Sure a repair won't mung the data more.

    I have a T-61P running Windows XP SP2.  Within the past month, my System Updater started returning

    They should be in the form of your model number without the hyphen and not TP-xx___
    In my case I had to change the TP-71___ that was showing in my registry to 87445BU.  Once I did this the software worked without a hitch.
