  • IPhone 3G cant detect any WiFi since updated to 3.0 OS

Hi, my iPhone 3G cant detect any wifi. Reset Network - DONE, Restore Firmware - DONE. Its happen since I updated my firmware to 3.0. Please do guide me. Thanks. Rgds from Malaysia.

It took me days to find it...
    So, let's go:
My iPhone does not connect to any WLAN/WIFI networks at all - just some days after updating it to 3.0. Now what to do?
    1. Change your WLAN-/WIFI-station to non secured (no password)
    2. Try to connect your iPhone - most probably it won't connect
    3. Change airplane mode to "On" and wait 10 sec
    4. Change airplane mode to "Off" and wait 10 sec
    5. Change airplane mode to "On" and wait 10 sec
    6. Change WIFI to "Off" and wait 10 sec
    7. Change WIFI to "On" and wait 10 sec
    8. Try to connect - most probably it will connect!
    9. Now change your WLAN-/WIFI-station to secured 128-Bit-WEP and give it a password
    10. Change WIFI to "Off" and wait 10 sec
    7. Change WIFI to "On" and wait 10 sec
    8. Try to connect with your new password - most probably it will connect again!
In my case it now even connects easily to all the other networks again now!

  • MSI R7870 TWIN FROZR 2GDS - cant detect monitor. (no signal)

I have a problem with my graphic card. It seem that it cant detect my monitor. I connect it through the hdmi cable.
It seem that it not my monitor is the problem. When I remove the graphic card can connect the monitor through the hdmi on the mother board it work fine. Does this problem happen or related with the window genuine? It seem that my window is not genuine (LOL). This problem suddenly happen after the window is detected not genuine. But before the window is detected not genuine, this problem also happen several time but I just solve it by turning off my pc and restarted it.
Hope you guys cant help me solve this problem as my friend said the genuine-lity or the window is not the problem, he going to check my pc tomorrow but in the mean time I just want know if you guys have a solution for it. Thank you.

  • My imac will not detect external monitor after recent update. Is there a way to fix this?

I have a VGA monitor plugged in to my imac using the VGA adapter to the mini-DVI.  All was working well.  Since I updated over the weekend, the computer will not detect the monitor.
Any ideas how to fix this?

    Pcantin wrote:
I have tried another VGA monitor and that failed as well.  Since you don't think the update was the cause, it may be that the adapter I am using decided to call it quits.  I will see if I can find another and test that out.
I will look into the external drive idea as well.
Thanks for your help on this.
I didn't think about the adaptor, but you should at least visually inspect both the adaptor and the cable at both ends. If one or more pins got bent even slightly the connection might fail. The cables can also fail internally. Replacing the adaptor and cable may be the quickest thing to do initially. If you want to try to save money, first replace the adaptor, and if the problem persists, then go replace the cable (or vice versa).

I have an older G5 and It has been crashing a lot lately.  Mostly when I'm using billing software or Vinyl cutting software.  It also won't launch safari and occasionally it won't launch mail.  The fan starts running faster and I get dos code that comes up on the screen over whatever program I'm running and it says:
    System Failure:cpu=0;code 1436778.
This is a copy of the error report that appears after I reboot the comp.  When I run the disk utility I don't see any problems pop up.

You have the MacBookPro6,2, the Edsel of Macs. It may be covered by this program:
MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2010): Intermittent black screen or loss of video
Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service provider, to have the machine tested. The routine hardware diagnostics used by service providers may not detect the fault. There is a specific test for this issue.
Print the first page of the panic report, and the support page linked above, and bring them with you.
Note that the replacement program only applies within three years of purchase. If you wait beyond that date, Apple may refuse the service. In that case, you'll be quoted a price of about $300 (in the U.S.) for a depot repair. The model was discontinued in February 2011, so the replacement program will be ending quite soon.
Back up all data on the internal drive(s) before you hand over your computer to anyone. If privacy is a concern, erase the data partition(s) with the option to write zeros* (do this only if you have at least two complete, independent backups, and you know how to restore to an empty drive from any of them.) Don’t erase the recovery partition, if present.
Sometimes the replacement part is also defective, so be prepared for that possibility.
If it's too late for your unit to be repaired under the program, and you don't want to pay for a new logic board, you may be able to stop the panics by disabling automatic graphics switching.
*An SSD doesn't need to be zeroed.

  • [SOLVED] xrandr can't detect other monitor

    Hi,
Here is my problem, I try to make a dual sreen by myself just by editing Xorg .conf files. But I need to detect my second monitor first.
nvidia-setting detects my monitor but xrandr (-q) don't.
Here is the conf file of my monitor :
    Section "Device"
    Identifier "Default nvidia Device"
    Driver "nvidia"
    Option "NoLogo" "TRUE"
    EndSection
    Section "Monitor"
    Identifier "Monitor0"
    Option "DPMS"
    EndSection
    Section "Screen"
    Identifier "Screen0"
    Device "Device0"
    Monitor "Monitor0"
    DefaultDepth 24
    SubSection "Display"
    Depth 24
    Modes "1280x800_75.00"
    EndSubSection
    EndSection
Here is the xrandr -q result
    agrum ~ $ xrandr -q

Since nvidia can make a dual screen with my current configuration, I don't think I have to edit it. But I would like to knwo how to detect my second monitor, get its name, if its a VGA, DVI, CRT ...
    Thanks.

@wangcutopen, this thread is half a year old. I suggest you use nvidia-settings to do your setup for your nvidia card. Search the wiki for 'nvidia', or go to nvidia's linux forum. Try google after that.
If all those steps don't work, then open a new forum thread. But only after trying all those.
EDIT: re-opening, misread the dates on the post. My bad.

  • Skype can't detect mt webcam since I updated to la...

     Hi
I have an Advent Modena 202m and since I updated to the latest version (7.0.85.102) skype cant detect my webcam even though my webcam is switched on. I hit fn+f7 and it tells me the  webcam is switched on.
    Any ideas? Thanks.

Please,  run the DirectX diagnostics tool (32-bit option).
Go to Windows Start and in the Run box type dxdiag.exe and press the OK button. This will start the DirectX diagnostics program. Run this diagnostics and save the results to a file. Please, attach this file to your post.
Be aware that you will have to zip this file before attaching it here.

  • JMF cant detect more than one camera

    hiiii to all
1 ) in my program that list all devices (webcams) connected to my DELL laptop ( windows xp2 ) and choose one to capture from
it detects only one cam that is embeded in my lap when i connected another cam
it lists only the embeded cam and not detect the external connected cam although i capture from it with my program on other pc
i tried also JMF registry to detect capture devices it also detect the embeded cam only
2 ) also i tried to run the program on another HP laptop (windows vista business) and cant detect any devices(audio, video)
Is JMF conflict with widows vista?
really need answer for these 2 questions
    thanks in advance

I'll answer your first round of Flex questions, but they are off-topic for this forum because they have nothing to do with Java...but I'll answer these for you.
how about adobe flex? is it possible with desktop applications using socket programming ?
or it is used on web pages only ?Flex is a web-based or Desktop application architecture...
and how about its capabilities ? easy to use or not ?Dunno, never used it. The code I saw looked pretty simple, it uses something called "ActionScript" to function, which looks a lot like JavaScript.
When I looked into it, I never had any doubt that I'd be able to write an application in it.
can i use both JMF, Adobe flex in same application efficiently ?No, they are completely different things, you can't mix them into the same application. It's certainly possible to transmit data back and forth between a Flex application and a JMF application, but they would be separate applications.
If you have any other questions about Flex, you'll need to find an Adobe Flex forum to ask them in...

  • Seriously I need help!! PC cant detect ipod through firewire or usb.

It's been months since my 3rd gen 20 GB ipod stopped working correctly. After I installed the new updater for my (03-23-2006) computer, my pc cant detect the ipod AT ALL!!! It's not showing in itunes, not showing up in the updater, and it's not showing up in "My Computer". I plug it in the usb slots, it does NOTHING. Plug it through firewire... all it does is just charges up and that's it.
I tried unistalling and reinstalling old versions of the updater and itunes but even that's not working. My ipod use to work fine by either connecting the ipod through a firewire or USB. Now, NONE of the usb or firewire slots (back and front) wont detect it.
I did the 5 R's hundreds of times and placed it in disk hard trying to see if any of the slots would detect it but no luck!! I also reset the ipod in every usb and firewire slot but no luck. I alse disable my norton antivirus but that didnt help either. There's nothing wrong with the usb or firewire cables because they both worked with my friend's ipod.
I even drove over 5 miles to the nearest apple store to see if they can help and their macs couldnt detect the ipod, even though my ipod was formated for win. They couldnt help me at all.
    I've must of done EVERYTHING!!
    Someone please help!!!
3rd gen 20 GB   Windows XP

My girlfriends 3rd gen 20G Ipod is having similar problems. If I connect it via USB, the PC doesn't recognise it, and if I connect it via Firewire, I get a blue screen with ntfs.sys are the named culprit.
I've tried it on two differnet PCs now with the same results (both with latest iTunes and update software on them).
I've still got a 3rd gen 40G iPod thats working fine with both PCs, so im starting to think it's a problem with the disk in the iPod though. Although it's usable, theres some strange clicking noises when I connect it (before the crash...), and it tends to always skip the first song in a playlist/album etc and only play the second one.

  • Apple logo froze and cant detect by itunes done restore. still apple logo froze

    apple logo froze
    connected to itunes
    done restore
cant detect by itunes again and went back to apple logo froze

first hold the HOME & power key for 10 secs apprx until the apple logo appears
once logo appears that should solve the issue
if still that doesn't fix the issue
put your device into DFU mode, which is a bit complicated
so check atleast a couple of videos first on YOUTUBE before u follow it
do not need to worry that will fix the issue

  • I cant get two monitors to work on one pc.

Does anyone know why i cant get two monitors working on one pc?
I have a HP P6 2000 UKM computer, running windows 7 and it has a DVI D socket as well as the standard VGA (which i am using for my primary monitor)  I have got the right DVI  to VGA adaptor and have followed various instructions to set up duel disply but every tutorial i have seen says use the multiple display option,  but the option dropdown box is not there!
Iv'e tried two different monitors but he same problem. If my graphics card does not suport 2 monitors then why is there a DVI D socket?
Have never had this problem in the past!
    Please help.
    Nobby

    Hi,
Please post the exact HP product number for your PC.
VGA is analog and DVI-D is digital.  If you have two monitors then one of them needs to support a digital video signal if you want to use two monitors

My Windows 7 laptop won't detect my iPod since the last update of iTunes and Windows.  I've tried downloading them again. The apple device manager has an error message.

Your's may look more like this...
...if you're running Mountain Lion. I'm in clamshell mode right now, so I don't have any mirroring options. AFAIK, there's no more "Show displays in menu bar" in Mountain Lion.
