  • Change font and font size in a textedit

    Hi,
I am using a textedit UI element in read only mode. its getting the value from context attribute. I need to change font and font size ( atleast the later) and make it bold.
how can this be done ?
    plz help......
    Thanks
    Akash

    Hi Thomas,
I saw from your response in the post above that you might be able to answer a question I have about the portal theme.
We are using several textedit elements in our portal, however the font size of text entered in those textedit fields is smaller than the standard global text in the portal. I have tried in vain to find the setting in the portal theme that controls textedit elements. Do you happen to know which one it is exactly?
Many thanks for any suggestions/help you might have
    Paul.

  • Differentiate between Simple, Medium and Complex Queries.

    Hi Gurus,
I am a Tech. Architect on this new project. I would like to know how to differentiate between Simple, Medium and Complex Queries in BW because I need this info to work on the Estimates. Has this differentiation got anything to do with the Backend config also?
    Thanks in Advance.
    Chandu.

    Hi
You need to understand the requirements and consider the following before you classify........
    1) Queries that are based on multiple key figures--which may result in cell definition.
    2) Queries with complex calculations.
    3) Queries that are based on Variable Exits

  • How to change font and font size of textarea item

hi -- I have several form pages which for the most part have text items. However, I do
have a few textarea items, and the font and font size of these are defaulting to
something different than the text items.
How can I change the font and font size of the textarea items, preferably in such a
way that it will apply to all textarea items in my app?
(And, to take a step back, where can I find the font and size definitions for these
items? I assume it's in the CSS (??) but don't really know what to look for.)
    Thanks,
    Carol

    >
I do have one last thing I'd like to get resolved, if possible. Both the text and textarea items are
width 100 and height 1, but the textarea is a bit wider and taller than the text item. If possible,
I'd like to get at least the widths to match exactly, for aesthetics. (There was a much larger
discrepancy before the size and fonts matched...) Maybe it's just a characteristic of textareas
that they have that extra bit of width and height... I don't know
    >
If you look at the generated HTML source you'll see that the APEX width value ends up in 2 different attributes: size for the text field and cols for the textarea. How each of these is transformed into the dimension used to render the control obviously differs, and how either is used will also differ across browsers and platforms. Where you want control over this the best idea appears to be to ignore the width value (APEX lets you blank this out, but resets it to 30 if the definition is subsequently edited) and explicitly set the width property in CSS, as I've now done on your example using HTML Form Element Attributes. This could also be done in a style sheet using the APEX-generated item IDs (P1_TEXT etc) as selectors.
The APEX height value is only applied to the textarea rows attribute: it has no effect on the text field. Again, how this works will be implementation-specific and is better handled explicity using CSS. (Anyway I'm doubtful about a 1 row high textarea? It doesn't affect the ability to enter more than 1 line of text. Looks confusing.)
cols and rows are required attributes for textareas, so APEX has to generate the attributes, but we're better off specifying width and height in CSS to override the browser's computed rendering.
(This is the first time I've put an app on apex.oracle.com... so hopefully it'll be smooth sailing for you.)Apart from not noticing that the region was cached and wondering why my changes weren't having any effect? Thought I was losing it... ;-)

  • Difference between Regular Reversal and out-of-sequence reversal

Can anyone help me understand the difference between Regular Reversal and out-of-sequence reversal? How does the system behave differently i these two reversals?
    Thanks
    Charlene

Sorry for the long reply, as here's some information that I have on Voids and Out-of-Sequence reversals.
On occasion, SAP payroll results can be created in error. In these cases, the payment never goes to the employee and the payroll result should never have been created. These cases are considered “reverse payments” in the off cycle workbench.
There are two forms of “reverse payments”: voids and out of sequence reversals. Notes 160515, 159701 and 337626 should be reviewed carefully.
An out of sequence reversal occurs when third party remittance has been run for the payroll result, or when the payroll result is not the most recent result in the cluster directory for the employee. Wage type /568 (total reversal amount) is created in the reversed result for posting purposes. Wage type /571 replaces any /559 wage types in the reversed result and the BT cluster is cleared.
Wage type /568 is created for posting purposes and it will not appear in any retros over the reversed result.
An out of sequence reversal should not occur when the employee receives the money unless the actual check is returned or the direct deposit is reversed by the bank.  Because of the tax when paid principle, even if an employee writes a check back to the company for the overpaid amount, this should be processed by retro master data changes and the employee check should be used to relieve any claims in the most recent period.  The claims processing guide gives details on how to relieve claims. Out of sequence reversals depend on third party remittance but not on posting to FI.
/568 - Total reversal amount - If you cancel a payroll result that A. Has had payments made to third parties or B. is other than the last one.  This is considered an out of sequence reversal.  If these two conditions do not apply, a true void occurs.     Wage type /568 is the total reversal amount.  Should be the sum of /569, /570 and /571.
/571 - Reversal of /559 - Wage type /571 is the reversal of /559 (bank transfer).  /571 will record the amount from wage types /559.  The /559 wage types will be deleted from the cluster that was reversed.  Wage type /571 will have the same sign as wage      type /559.
In payroll reporting, the reversal amounts are evaluated in the next payroll period. The same is true for posting to FI.
The out of sequence reversal should have been accompanied by a master data change that forced a retro via infotype 0003.
This retro will fix FI postings in the posting process that accompanies the retro run.For this reason, out of sequence reversals do not need an entry in table T52OCG for processing by the off cycle batch process.
Regardless of if a ‘reverse payment’ is a void or an out of sequence reversal, there should be an associated master data change to perform this process properly. There had to be a reason that the payment should not have been made and this reason needs to be reflected in the employee’s master data. Both voids and out of sequence reversals can occur before or after the master data change, but the safest method is to perform the master data change first to ensure it occurs before the next payroll is processed.
In payroll reporting, voids are bypassed in the period for which they were originally paid. This means that if a payroll report is run for a specific period containing a void, the voided result will not be picked up. In FI, voids are bypassed in the period in which they were voided. This is possible because the off cycle batch process already reconciled any incorrect posting that occurred before the payroll result was voided.
A voided payroll result occurs when no money was given to the employee and no money was remitted through third party remittance.  A void is simply a check or direct deposit that was created in error.  The payroll control record was already exited and the check or direct deposit was already processed, therefore the payroll result can not be recalculated in the original period.
A void can only occur if the payroll result is the most recent result for the employee.
If the payroll result is not the most recent result, an out of sequence reversal occurs by default. It is irrelevant whether the transfer to FI has occurred or not with relation to voids.  Some OSS notes state that posting to FI does matter and these notes are in error.

  • Differentiate between quantity contract and value contract?

    Hi,
How can i differentiate between quantity contract and value contract?
The agreement type of contract is  is not MK or WK , its custom created.
    regards
    N Banu

    Hi
    In Qty Contract you limit the total quantity of items that  required for you;
It sums the partial quantities of Release Orders with the Contract as a reference.
In a Value contract, you limit the total value of items to be required when
you create Release Orders with the Contract as a reference, that is you
don't work with the quantities as in the first case, but indeed with the
quantities multiplied by the unit price you fixed in the Contract

  • Font and Font Size Disabled

In the Administration area where you edit settings for a
user, I have the value checked for "Allow users to apply fonts and
sizes". The Style Support value is set to "Document-level CSS". The
user cannot view the Font and Font size drop down options when they
connect to their website via Contribute and open a page for
editing. They sent me a screenshot confirming these 2 fields do not
display in Contribute, and if they try to go to the Format >
Font menu option it reads <disabled>. They are running on
version 2.01. Is there something I'm setting incorrectly for them
to have access to these 2 fields, or is this not a feature in the
older 2.01 version perhaps? Any advice is much appreciated! Thank
    you.

When your font and size menus are disabled you have to
administer your website and change the Users and Roles settings.
When you ar not the administrator, you will have to ask the
administrator to do it for you.
    1. in the menu got ot File, Administer websites
    2. select Users and Roles, select your role, click Edit Role

    3. adjust the settings Editing and Styles and Fonts
