Cant download certain documents
my wife is about to start uni and while at college there was certain documents that her mac is not compatible with and wont open i think its to do with different operating systems mainly windows is there any program or anything i can purchase from apple that will sort this out
any help would really be helpful as she loves her mac and wont use anything else

Do the documents pertain to Microsoft Office suite applications?
Several of those can be opened in a Mac, some edited, saved, and sent.
Apple iWorks can do some similar functions, compatibility with MS apps;
but the answer would require more information from you or her about it.
There are several browsers, too, that can access web sites the Safari
browser may be treated unwelcome; such as Camino, Firefox, Opera.
And, for reading .PDF documents, free Adobe Reader is available; as is
the native Preview app in OS X. The answer is nebulous without details.
An office-like suite, runs free (donationware) that can handle documents
and other apps can be used for some of these situations, if that applies.
Neo Office, a download, sees updates and can be helpful to have.
What kinds of documents (file type, origination software) are involved?

Cant download certain applications disk utility wont open at all
I am trying to download various applications (freeware) from versiontracker. Nothing important just itunes tools and limewire. I tried to right click and open it with disc uitility but that opened in the dock and then went away. When I download somethings they are blank as if nothing is on the file and nothing can open it. Limewire did download ok but once I try and open it to install the file it opens ichat and says ichat cant open this. What else can I try?

No idea how you managed to do that
But to set your OS X version number back to what it should be:
1. Open up the 'Terminal' app from /Applications/Utilites/
2. Type: sudo pico /System/Library/CoreServices/SystemVersion.plist followed by the return key
3. You will be prompted for your password. Type this in, again followed by the return key (you will not see anything as you input it in to the Terminal)
4. Scroll down with your arrow keys to where it says 11.7.2 (under 'ProductUserVisibleVersion' key)
5. Change the string value of the key to: 10.7.2
6. Scroll down with your arrow keys again to the other place (just below) where it says 11.7.2
7. Change the string value of the key to: 10.7.2
8. Press 'Ctrl + x' on your keyboard
9. Press 'y'
10. Press the return key
11. Quit Terminal
12. Restart your machine
13. Voila! - hopefully this should resolve your problem!
To check, once your Mac has restarted, press the Apple (using your mouse) in the top left hand corner of your screen, then press 'About This Mac', and you should see it no longer states you're using Mac OS X Version 11.7.2, but Mac OS X Version 10.7.2
Next steps......
1. Run a software update......
2. Open the Mac App Store and attempt to install Xcode again

What do you mean you can't write HTML5 code? Are you working within an HTML5 doc type?
To make HTML5 your default doc type, go to Edit > Preferences > New Document. Click on screenshots below.
To create a new page, go to File > New > Blank page > HTML. Select none from the 3rd column. Select HTML5 doc type. Hit Create button.

Please call into Adobe Support. It sounds like corruption of your room. Does this happen in a new room or new File Share pod?

I cant download the Photoshop CS3 trial. When I press the button to download it looks like the page will start the download but then it just stops and there is no download. All the other downloads work ok.

in this service note about how to address downloading difficulties. First suggestion is (if you are using IE) make sure your Temporary Internet Files cache space is big enough to hold the downloaded file. (I would certainly have problems if I used IE, since I have my TIF space set very low; however, I use Firefox, which doesn't apply its cache size limit to downloads, thank heavens!) -
My grandad has a 1st edition iPad and when he tries to download certain apps it says he needs at least iOS 5? Shouldn't this be updated automatically? Or can this be updated another way? I haven't been to see his iPad so he may not be looking properly??? Any helpers???
The iOS version is not updated automatically, though if he connects it to his computer's iTunes (if it's a recent enough version) he should be prompted as to whether he wants to update.
He should connect the iPad to his computer's iTunes and copy any purchases off the iPad to his computer via File > Transfer Purchases. He may also want to copy photos and any important documents off the iPad as well e.g. via the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to iTunes, via wifi, email, dropbox etc - they should be included in the backup, but it's best to have a copy of them outside of the backup just in case. He can then force a backup of the iPad by right-clicking the iPad 'Device' on the left-hand side of iTunes and selecting 'Backup'.
He can then start the update by selecting the iPad on the left-hand side of iTunes, and on the Summary tab on the right-hand side clicking the Check For Updates button

Im so frustrated im about to set fire to my ipod mini, at the moment i cant download itunes or the ipod updater from my installation cd or the website, with the cd when i put it into my computer nothing happens, and on thew site i get to the screen that says "thank you for downloading itunes your download will happen automatically" and then nothing happnes someone please help!
I think I replied to a similar post like this before but I'll post the same answer I posted to the other one.
It might be that your computer won't automatically starts cds placed in your cd rom, you might have to do it manually. Place the cd in your cd room tray, close it and go to "My Computer", you should see the name of the cd in the list. Double click on that to make the cd start spinning in the cd tray, you should also be able to hear it when it starts to spin.
I had the same problem, when you said you clicked "Download" to download iTunes from the website and nothing happened - it'd just jump straight to the "Thank you for downloading.." page. This is what I did. Before you click on "Download", hold the "ctrl" key in your keyboard and then press "Download" on the webpage. DO NOT LET GO of the button until you see the "Run" prompt. It works for me, my problem is the Security software my Internet Explorer has - it won't let me download certain things unless I press the "CTRL" key. -

As far as I can tell the Xperia x8 is shipped with Android 1.6 upgradable to 2.1 which does not meet the minimum requirement for Skype.
It maybe possible to install unofficial mods of Android to get Gingerbread (aka Cyangenmod) but the process is messy, may brick your device not to mention void your warranty.
For what it's worth a new handset running Kitkat or higher would be a better solution since there's no telling how long Android Gingerbread would remain supported. -

From your post it appears that you are using an earlier iPad, which can only update to iOS 5. Some developers do offer compatible versions of their apps for people running older iOS versions, but ultimately it is up to that developer to make an older version. If it says your billing info is wrong that means that your credit card issuer is refusing to approve your account. You will have to solve the problem with your bank or credit card company.
