Cant download DVD4 driver.

I havent included my comp specs yet because this is a simple question.
I installed a DVD=RW=R yesterday, it worked fine until I used the update ( 130 I think ) then both my DVD drivers were wiped from my comp so I want reinstall them but when I click on the DVD4 driver for either dual or rom they dont download, nothing happens.
So my question is, how do I download the drivers?
Any help greatly appreciated.

I have found the right driver for my dvd rom (D16 MS-8216) and have made a dos boot floppy, but when I get to the dos I am not sure what to type, these are the instructions.
Type: DVFLASH".
Usage: DVFLASH
Do I use the or leave them out?
Do I type Firmware or do I put something else?
Do I press enter after typing the first part? and will the Usage come up after I press enter?
Is the filename the name on the file I downloaded ie DR4A_250 or the filename of the exe inside ie DVFLASH.EXE?
Any help would be very much appreciated and would help stop the stress I'm feeling over this.

I'm using xp before, when i upgrade to win7 everything work's fine. the only thing i wanted to do is to check if there is new update drivers for both vista and win7. i already diwnload all my drivers for vista before, that's why i was able to upgrade my OS to win7 RTM release.
since 1 month from now even XP drivers in this website i cannot be downloaded anymore, it's giving me "path validation error" and showing me to log in again. but i'm not log-out in the support and download page. Not sure I understand you correctly.. Are you currently in China, and therefore unable to download the app? Also, which program is it that you're trying to get?

HP is aware of the drivers missing from the support pages issue and is working on resolving it.
It is affecting hundreds of notebook models.
Since I don't work for HP, I do not know when the sites will be operational again.
This has happened once before, so hopefully they learned from past experience how to troubleshoot the problem.
With the Thanksgiving holiday in the United States, that has delayed things, I'm sure.
We are on the fifth day of this problem.

The configure bar gets about an 1/8 full and then just does nothing. I think its lists the update as combo update? cant remember with out checking.
I have tried to do the disk verify and repair but this has made no difference.
Please let me know what i need to do, I have reformatted the mac just to start over as was clogged with a lot of useless data, I had installed lion (10.7) from the app store previously and now cant seem to find a way to re install lion. I hope I dont need to pay for it again?

If you erased your hard drive, you'll need to reinstll OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard to access the App store. You won't have to pay for OS X 10.7 Lion again. Did you try booting to the recovery partition by holding the command and r keys down? If that's still there, you can reinstall OS X 10.7 from there.
If you're looking to install the current iTunes, you need OS X 10.6.8 at a minimum.
If you're still trying to update OS X 10.5 Leopard, you can download the combo update from here. Download, use Disk Utility to repair permissions, apply the update, then repair permissions again. That will take you to OS X 10.5.8.

What exactly happens when you try, step by step?
Could be many things, we should start with this...
"Try Disk Utility
1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
3. Click the First Aid tab.
4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.
Then reapply the big combo.

Let's try something relatively simple. Download and save a copy of the installer to your hard drive (don't run the install on line and don't start the install just yet):

Now right-click on the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) that you downloaded and select "Run as administrator".

Those two files need to be stored tegether in a convenient placeon your hard drive, not on an external drive, where you have plenty of free space. Running the .exe should unpack the deploy folders and the actual installer. Do not attempt to decompress the .7z file.
Once you've run the .exe, you should turn off anti-virus and spyware scanners (and probably User Access Control), then run the Setup.exe file that was extracted when you ran the first .exe file.
Note that the setup files must be present in the same location as they were during installation if you want to uninstall, so you might want to put them in a convenient but out-of-the-way place before installing. Adobe tends to sugeest the Desktop, but I personally think that's a poor choice. I downloaded the Master Collection and just made a subfolder for it in my downloads directory so I can find it again. Where you keep the installer files is not the same location where the program will actually install. On 64-bit versions of Vista it is essential that you install in the Programs (x86) folder and I recommend you just accept the default location.
