i just up grade window 7 to window 8 but i can download flash player why?

Flash Player for IE 10/ Win 8 is handled via Windows Update for now. if it doesn't offer a new version, there is no way to install from another source.

  • I cant download flash player. I am getting an error message and am trying for hours to figure it out

I've tried everything.  I uninstalled the old version and now have no flash player on my computer at all. Please help.

Download the offline installer from http://helpx.adobe.com/content/help/en/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player- windows.html#main-pars_header and save it to disk, then close all browser windows and run the downloaded installer.

  • Cant Download Flash Player for Safari/Chrome/FF

Trying to download the correct version of Flash player however as i attempt to download the download grinds to a halt and times out, this is a 2.4mb file which should take no more than a few seconds, not a few days!!
Is there a mirror site i can download from or can someone advise me of where to get it rather than me sitting having no flash?

All 3rd-party download sites eventually redirect the download back to adobe.com or macromedia.com I have found out.
All I can offer you is this alternate download page with installers for all supported platforms.

  • Cant download flash player

I hope somone will be able to help me with my issue.  I have had problems downloading the flash player.  I get a message that says it can't create a temporary file.  I've tried to go into support to see if there are some issues.  I saw the problem with registry errors and tried to download the update (I think it's called SublnACL).  I can't even download that.  The page opens up but it says the page can't be displayed.  Have others run into this problem?  Anybody help me out?  I would greatly appreciate it!

If I were sitting in front of your computer I could think of many things to check, but since I am not, I only have a few shots in the dark.
First, let's try to clear the Flash Player's own temporary files. This is easiest done by using CCleaner. Download, install, and run it. On tab Applications, Multimedia, check 'Adobe Flash Player'. Before you click 'Run Cleaner' make sure that Cookies are unchecked under Windows (Internet Explorer) and Applications (whatever other browsers you have).
Now click 'Run Cleaner'; this may run for a few minutes because it does a lot of cleaning. Do not run the Registry cleaner!
Did this make any difference - try to install Flash Player again.
Next thing I would try is to run CHKDSK - Start -> Run -> cmd -> chkdsk /f
You may need to reboot to get CHKDSK to run.
Last thing for today, check your system for malware that is not covered by McAfee (what product is it exactly, VirusScan?). Run a full system scan with Trendmicro Housecall - it will show you if you have any malware infection on your system that could be responsible for your Flash Player installation problem.
Sorry, I will be off for a few days, but I may check in here sometimes.

Hi, This message normally means you used an Account that does not have Permission to Install the Flash Player ActiveX Control.
You must use the Administrator Account, which you can read about here under Permissions:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/191/tn_19166.html
The only was to correct that if the above info doesn't help is to use this SubInACL:

  • Why Can't I Download Flash Player?

I have repeatedly tried to download Flash Player after getting pop-up messages from Adobe that tell me I cannot open attachments to emails because I need Flash Player 9.0 or higher.  The messages say to download the latest Flash Player click here.  I follow the instructions to the letter and get a message that the download of Flash Player 10 has successfully been completed.  Then the next time I try to open an email attachment I get the same failure message.  I have also gotten led to an Adobe tutorial entitled Flash Player | 64-bit operating systems which directs me to select the 32-bit Internet Explorer system on my computer by going to Start>Programs.  I followed the download instructions using the 32-bit IE system and the download message says that Flash Player 10.0 has been successful.  But I still cannot open the email attachments and still get the message that I need to download Flash Player 9.0 or higher.  If I go to my complete list of programs on the Install or Remove Programs, I find a listing for several Adobe products such as Acrobat, ReaderX, Digital each of which has a size in bytes.  Flash Player 10 is listed but there is nothing shown in the byte size column.
My computer is a Hewlett-Packard Pavilion with an Intel Pentium Dual CPU E2220 @ 2.40 GHz  64-bit operating system using Windows Vista Home Premium, Service Pack 2.  The default browser which I use is Internet Explorer 64-bit.
I'm 80 years old and trying hard to get along with computers.  Please know that any help provided on this frustrating problem will be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance.  And please make your suggestions in great detail without assuming I know very much.

Hi James, Check and make sure the Shockwave Flash Object is Enabled in your IE manage addons.
In FF, look for the Shockwave Flash plugin and make sure it's Enabled.
Make sure you are using the 32bit browser and not the 64bit.
Also check this for IE: (you want this OFF, not on)
    To turn on ActiveX Filtering
In Internet Explorer, click the Tools button, point to Safety, and then click ActiveX Filtering.
To turn off ActiveX Filtering on a specific website
In Internet Explorer, click the Filter button in the Address bar, and then click Turn off ActiveX Filtering.
To turn off ActiveX Filtering on all websites
In Internet Explorer, click the Tools button, point to Safety, and then click ActiveX Filtering.
I don't have time to check on why Chrome is not working. Make sure your Anti-Virus is not blocking.
Also when you are trying to Install, all browser windows must be Closed.
Will check back later, but it's best to start you own topic as Pat suggested and flutie has done.

  • Downloading flash player 9?

I downloaded flash player 9 for Linux last week. I wanted to
install on a different machine today.
Much to my surprise, the 'current' release of flash player
    for Linux here
    http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash
is 7,0,69,0. [or any link that eventually leads here] What
    gives?????
I have cleared my cache, restarted the browser, tried
    different browsers.
    I've tried mozilla 1.7.8, firefox 2.0.0.1, galeon
1.3.something.... All reporting version 7 is the latest.

are you *sure* it tells you to close the browser before
downloading? that makes no sense at all -
perhaps it says to close browser before installing? if you
close the browser windown then you cant
download, thus making those instructions the worst written in
    the world :)

    Hi LeeEnix-
Why so many downloads? Couldn't get FP to work? IE and
Firefox (non-IE browsers) have different methods of
downloading/installing. I'm guessing you're XP or Vista. System
Restore should've given you back your previous (and hopefully
    working) FP.
BUT, you need to uninstall before reinstalling, or it kinda
    jams up on ya.
    Flash uninstall Tool:
    http://www.adobe.com/go/t_n14157
AV progs and IE security can both block the installation.
Check IE/Tools/Internet Options/Security. Reset your zones to the
    default levels.
