Cant download ios5. Using windows computer. Downloaded update 3 times gets to 100% and then says connection has timed out and I lose the lot. Any suggestions
I have been trying to download ios5 using my windows compute Windows 7. I connected Ipad and opened Itunes etc. Three times I have sat there for up to an hour downloding the program and it gets to the end (100%) sometimes it even processses the file and then I get a message saying the connection has timed out and to try again. I am on a wireless connection and it is so frustrating. I have the latest version of itunes. Any suggestions?
Try temporarily disabling your firewall and anti-virus software then try the download again.

Does anyone have an issue downloading the latest iPhone update. I get 652.7 of 652.8 of the file and then an err=-3259 and it says i have timed out. I know I have not timed out though any help?
Temporarily disable ALL of your antivirus/antispyware software (that includes the included MicroSoft software and any other installed software such as Kaspersky, McAfee, etc.) and try again.

Cant connect to itunes store it says connection has timed out
when i try to access the itunes store it says cant connect to itunes store connection has timed out make sure your network setting are correct and your network connection is active, then try again....i have re-synced and downloaded the new itunes,i can access it on my ipod touch 3rd gen. but when i go to it on the computer it doesnt work i NEED HELP!!!
I've had the same problem for the last two weeks. Finally resolved the issue in Windows 7.
Go to start button, control panel, system & security, windows firewall. On the left side of the box click on "advanced settings." On the left side of the box again click on "Inbound Rules." You should be able to see iTunes under the name category. Make sure it has a green check mark next to it. If it does not, then double click on the name. In the "general" box which comes up open, click "Allow the Connection." That worked for me. Somehow itunes was blocked but now I can access the itunes store again. -

If that won't work, perhaps you can use Find my iPhone from a computer in your iCloud.com account to erase the device.

This has nothing to do with the Find my iPhone app being installed on the phone, but you do have to have Find my iPhone activated in the iCloud settings on the phone. -
I get a message that my network connection has timed out while trying to update my iPhone on iTunes. Has anyone else had that problem and if so what solutions have you found? I was told to turn off my firewall and/or virus protection while updating but am nervous about doing that for obvious reasons. I'm also disgusted with Apple not providing free tech support.

Try deleing the download and try again. It is located:

Internet connection times out when downloading update ios5. get to last 0.01 of data, says processing file and then says connection timed out. Is there a fix?
I am using itunes 10.5. Update didnt work on last software but restore did work. HelpAfter two days of attempts, Google & Apple searches, one Apple post stated to turn off all firewalls and virus software and keep trying since there were 6 gazillion people trying to update. I have Windows 7 & Kaspersky and had to diable every single safety feature in Kaspersky as well as Firewalls and it finally allowed the download and update attempt.
Glancing at the forum, there appears to be numerous other problems with missing pictures, text problems etc after the IOS5 download but fortuneately, everything seems ok so far. Good luck, it is frustrating! Hattie47 -
