Cant download Mountain Lion, I get an error every time
I have a 2012 mac book pro 13 inch model and I cant get mountain lion to download, It keeps coming up with an error. What am i not doing right, its a brand new computer and I shouldnt be having this trouble. the operating system is 10.7.4 currently.
Helps to tell us what the error said...
Try here > Mac App Store: "An unknown error occurred (100)" when purchasing
Might need to temporarily disable anti virus software.
FYI, third party download managers may cause issues when downloading apps including Mountain Lion.
Apps such as Net Nanny, Hands Off, and LIttle Snitch can prevent apps from downloading.
Make sure you are using the same Apple ID associated with your Mac.
Make sure you have the correct App Store country selected. Check the round flag icon bottom right corner of the App Store.

Why wont my computer update the new software ?
It appears Apple’s download servers are ‘overwhelmed’ today. I couldn’t download the newest iTunes update or IOS 7 and there are a lot of discussions today about not being able to download. One poster said they had chatted with App Store support who confirmed the problem.
If you are trying to update iTunes, this link worked for me.

After downloading mountain lion, I get an error message when trying to use a link in mail. One mail account on the same computer is fine, but not the other one. Any suggestions?
I went to the Apple Genius Bar for help. Somehow when I downloaded Mountain Lion one of the mail accounts on the computer changed from an IMAP account to a POP account. The POP account doesn't enable the links in email. It was a quick fix. Just go to prefrences in your mail account and change it to an IMAP account. Hope this works for you as it did for me.

When trying to install Mountain Lion I get an error message, Failed, recovery can't be created
My Mountain Lion install failed for the following reason:
OS X can't be installed on the disk Macintosh HD, because a recovery system can't be created.
The message went on:
Visit www.apple.com/support/no-recovery to learn more.
The page is about a different failure, but I'm assuming the reason for my failure is this one:
The disk has a non-standard Boot Camp partition setup, in which further partitioning was performed after running Boot Camp Assistant, or the configuration that Boot Camp Assistant created was manually modified.
The cure involves erasing the entire HD and starting from scratch, which in my case would involve backing up both the Mac and Windows sides, setting up Boot Camp again, reinstalling Windows XP and recovering everything from backups on both sides. I would rather not have Mountain Lion than go through all that, and I think it's unfair for Apple to expect me to.
Because I don't recall doing anything off-piste when I set up Boot Camp in the first place (for a start, I'm not clever enough), I consider this episode an inadequacy in the Mountain Lion installer. As I won't be using the download, is it possible to get my money back? -
When I try to purchase Mountain Lion i get an error message: "We could not complete your purchase. The product distribution file could not be verified. It may be damaged or was not signed."
I can purchase other apps, why not Mountain Lion. I get the same message on my wife's IMAC.The only thing that worked for me was to boot in safe mode.
Power down. Then press power button and hold 'shift' key until grey screen with progress bar appears... Once booted and logged in just open safari and browse to applestore.
No trouble at all once I did this.
Hope it helps. -

When trying to download Mountain Lion, I get the following message: "We could not complete your purchase. OSX 10.8 Mountain Lion requires a Core 2 Duo, .... processor." However, my iMac lists a 2GHz Intel Core Duo as its processor. Help?
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
Mountain Lion is a 64-bit operating system, and an Intel Core Duo processor is only 32-bit, so you can't use Mountain Lion on your Mac. You can keep using your actual OS X version or buy a new Mac if you want Mountain Lion -
tried to reinstall OSX Mountain Lion 10.8.4 and every time i start with the installation i get a requested time out message, had to shut down my MacBook Pro retina. I am getting this error every time I move three specific clips on my timeline. Help?! I am using Adobe Premiere CS6 for Mac.
[/Volumes/BuildDisk/builds/slightlybuilt/shared/adobe/MediaCore/Backend/Make/Mac/../../Src /Sequence/LinkContainer.cpp-245]Thanks for getting back to me. I have discovered that the footage has 2 different frame rates. The clips are 23.976 and 29.976, 1920x1080. The sequence is 1920x1080 @ 23.976fps. I know they should ideally be conformed and I will do that, but this is the first time I've had this issue using Premiere. What I have done is unlink and relink the footage and still the same thing. It does not crash if I do not mix the frame rate in my selection of clips.

I am trying to download mountain lion on to a mac pro but the message I get is just an error has occurred. any suggestions are very welcome.
I was having this problem - I assumed it was the Apple server being overloaded, so I just kept retrying over the last couple of days. All my apps were upto date, so was Software Update. i tried logging out of the App Store, restarting and so on. No joy.
Anyway, eventually I did this, and it seems to have solved the problem.
Sign out of the App Store (in the Store menu)
Quit the App Store
In Finder - Go>Go to folder... (or Apple-shift-G)
Paste in the following "~/Library/Caches/com.apple.appstore"
It will take you to a folder. Delete the whole folder and empty the trash.
Launch the App Store. Sign in and then reclick the Mountain Lion buy. It won't charge you again. It then started downloading. I'm currently 5% downloaded - but I never got this far before.
Hope this helps!

How can I use Automator to batch convert files of various formats into pdf files?
I am very much a novice. I need to convert approximately 10,000 documents into pdf format. (No, I'm not exaggerating.) I have searched and found various Applescripts that will do it for Word documents, but have even been unsuccessful using those.
